wait until it was more convenient

it’s a strange point of almost pride for me that no one outside my family has seen me dance. This has just occurred to me and I had that warm proud feeling followed by…. Hmm that’s probably not a normal response. Anyway, add it to the list of “things I don’t do”.

I have a hard time believing in an all-knowing, all-powerful god due to personal experience. I’m sure there are people who will disagree: “oh but hardships are put there to overcome” ect, ect… Nope. A hardship is something that you can either grow over or grow around. A bullshit is something that is nearly insurmountable and requires so much more energy to get over than energy it will provide back. There is now way a “good god” could, with a clear conscious deliberately put people through these things.

There’s something in the way

I don’t know how to leave

Still hanging on the periphery

In case your deliberate choice

Could somehow be a mistake

You’d welcome me back with open arms,

All sins forgiven,

Unlikely I know 

None of us are christian

But I follow my namesake

It's what got me here in the first place

I know I need to say goodbye

An empty sack of clothes

To fill this gaping hole

I reserved for this group 

Thinking I’d always have a place

No good deed unpunished

So you spat that family in my face

Most of you aren’t talking

I should excise this cursed attachment

Properly turn to those

Who truly see me

Who don't claim to understand,

Using knowledge from books,

But instead offer a supporting hand

Doing what’s needed, when it’s needed

No more empty promises
