showering:

pros: you get to feel clean. you get non greasy hair, non oily feeling skin, it just in general makes you feel better, more energised, refreshed.

cons: there are so many steps. oh my god are there so many steps. before getting into the shower there are steps. during the shower there are steps. and once youve gotten out of the shower? guess what!!! more fucking steps!!!!!!!! UGHHHH

ive struggled so so much with this exact thing, ive thought almost those words verbatim many a time. but i have gotten better and i am (slowly) working on it.

so often you’re more disappointed in yourself for this than anyone else around you really is. but that disappointment didn’t come from nowhere, it’s learned from what you’ve been told before. for me, my boyfriend was one of the first people to ever tell me something like what he tells magritte in the last panels, and that meant the world to me

just know that telling yourself these things does not fix what’s already been done and there are much better ways to stop yourself from doing it in the future. it isn’t impossible, you can do it, but the only way that’s possible is to just keep persevering
