The Terrible by Tessa Crowley
Once upon a time in the kingdom of Leithbrochen, a king and queen in need of an heir went to seek the aid of a fairy who lived in a hut that was never in the same place twice. Many years later, in a small village along a river, a monster made of shadows begins to kill and devour people in the night.
Ness Catterick, the adviser on all matters magical to the Crown of Leithbrochen, is placed in charge of dealing with the monster. To his dismay, the attacks are occurring in the same village where he grew up as a homeless orphan, reviled and abused for being lethfae, half fairy.
But this monster, called the Terrible, is not what it seems. After all, Ness knows there’s no such thing as monsters, only men behaving monstrously. And Prince Cathair, with eyes like bottomless pits and a sadistic obsession with Ness, is proving to be more of a threat than the Terrible ever could be.
Tessa's book comes out in 2 weeks everyone and I encourage you all to preorder it HERE! I've had the pleasure of reading it already, and I want to scream about it with everyone! I was on the edge of my seat and full of emotions. Scenes that were making me anxious, were full of palpable sexual tension. I love the monster so much... and also this moment I had to draw of Ness and Prince Cathair.

at the end of the day i think the reason we’re all so obsessed w jon snow in the books is the inherent comedy of the Chosen One being sent to magical boarding school and just hating every minute of it. he’s not realizing his full magical girl potential he’s just exhausted. mans is TIRED. there’s a literal giant camping out in his front yard and he’s stressing over salt beef. there is an uber hot magical witch actively trying to seduce him and he’s just like ‘omg ygritte had red hair… im going to kms’. he is actively becoming a wolf. like straight up animorphing into his pet dog. and he doesn’t give a shit he’s like ‘hm that’s weird’ and then he gets distracted smelling satins’ hair again. easily the most character of all time. god.

I butterfly verse the girls take the wands of the seven Earth fairies who sealed their kin away in Tir nan Og to protect them, the power of their sacrifice fuelling their wands even after their deaths. Each of them corresponded to a slightly different region of the Fey court of Earth and their wands are distributed as follows:
Layla - Wand of Piercing Wisdom
Flora - Wand of Passionate Love
Stella - Wand of Artificial Light
Bloom - Wand of Springtime Rebirth
Musa - Wand of Performing Arts
Tecna - Wand of Seven Winds
Roxy - Wand of Cosmic Balance
Season 5: Let’s do politics dresses and princess gowns
In butterfly verse these replace the flower-applique travesties and are designed by Stella to give the girls a chique grown up look to be taken seriously in those meetings discussing the threat posed by Tritannus and his pollution.
Layla and Stella further get gowns when representing their home realm (Bloom is not officially a princess in function yet bc Domino only gets restored at the end of s5 in butterfly verse)
A while ago the Drops brought up the idea of the Winx with alternate power sources and even made a canon style lineup which had me intrigued.
