Time: 3:28, friday night

*the phone rings, Simon stirs from his slumber on a pull out bed, rubbing sleep from his eyes. recognizing the number, he flips the phone open, bringing it to his face. nearby, Athena shifts in her sleeping bag, but does not wake.*

"Fulbright?"

the voice on the other end is fuzzy, panicked, and not Fulbright's.

"He's freaking out I don't know what to do-"

Simon sits bolt upright, his heart in his chest.

"You're his roommate, right? is this normal?? what do I do???"

Simon wakes Athena, and grabs his boots.

"We have to go"

Time: 2:34, Friday Night.

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and...perhaps I have not been entirely honest with Fulbright about how I feel.

I did not believe I was ready for a relationship, I still do not, but.....

It is dishonest to claim there is no feeling there.

Surely it is too late, however. Even if Fulbright has ever felt the same for me, he is with his man even now. I can not confront him with these feelings, he has them for another. Besides, I....do not know that I am good for others.

What am I to do?

Oh, man. Yeah, I got him. The Discord in his heart has been fluctuating a lot lately, but It sounds like some of it has cleared out. Man just gotta process some things.

"he's.... fine. Loud. Self-aggrandizing. Smells like ashes. Could probably bench the weight of his firetruck, which I'm certain drew Fool-Bright to him to begin with. Rover loves him, or so I'm told.

What does it matter? Fool-Bright is head over heels it would seem. He's been spending all his time with the man, I'm sure they'll be very happy.

*The last lock shatters, crumbling away. Simon takes in a sharp breath, eyes wide. He had no idea the photograph existed. his mouth moves, but it makes no sound. He sinks into a sitting position, staring at the photograph.*

"I...I suppose...Nay, I must..."

"......"

".....I don't think I've ever felt the same towards him as anyone else."

*Simon turns, eyes narrow.*

"What now?"

(Inside the envelope is a series of candid photos-it seems someone ordered them after getting pictures developed, the whole Fulbright Clan is shown off, aunts, uncles, the works. And, nestled in between a shot of Bobby arm-wrestling and a picture of Nana scolding her sister, is the one Umi was looking for. Simon, asleep, leaning on Bobby's arm, holding his hand as he dozes. The picture is fuzzy, just slightly out of focus, and Bobby is away from the camera, presumably speaking to someone, but it could not be anyone but them.)

"I'm all out of patience, and I'm not going to keep waiting while you throw out baseless accusations.

Were you actually in my room? likely not, Taka would have clawed you, but then, I suppose she's not always home. My room is my scantum, stay out of it.

*Simon turns to go, calling Taka to light on his shoulder, muttering under his breath.*

(It would seem Simon can not see past the fourth wall. He does not seem to notice, however, the envelope slipped under the door.)

I am envious of the time Fulbright spends with Burnie, yes, fine. I can admit I miss time spent with a friend.

But an obsession?

Why, because you think I have feelings? Because I was rude to him the one time we met? Because I noticed things? I'm fairly observant, and I noticed things that only require meeting a man once. Are you obsessed because you listened to Fulbright ramble? Then why should I be?

I admit I do not have the easiest time communicating, nor a great many friends. But while you have proven that I am close with Fulbright, you equate that with obsession. A misstep on your end, not mine.

Your assessment is wrong. Burnie is coming to spend the night with Fulbright, and I will be going to spend time with Athena. I will apologize in the morning.

As for Rover, I was merely listening to Fool-Bright ramble, nothing more, I, I...

I admit, I'm not pleased, I am, perhaps, being selfishly envious. I don't have a great number of people to spend time with, only myself and Taka. It...is displeasing to see one of only a few persons I desire to see elsewhere. I should apologize to Fulbright on this, he is my friend and deserves to be happy. I should apologize to him, as a friend.
