Okay!! Let me introduce you to the characters that will play a role in the story I'm working on!

First here's Barbi and King, who are probably the closest to what could be considered the main characters.

King is very thoughtful and calculative. Barbi is not.

Otto and Jernej. Jernej is like a puppy to Otto, and Otto is like an old dog to Jernej.

The latter has gone through the most drastic design changes in this cast, and I even changed his name (he was previously Vivid, in case anyone remembers him)

Mario & Ren (loud rich party boy and some weeb he picked up from a trashcan)

and then there's the nerds.

I've been chipping away at this project since 2019 and it's basically my new year's resolution to get it comic-ready this year. The story still needs work atm, so it'll be a while longer before I feel confident in starting it, but I really hope 2023 is the year it happens.

I know I basically treat King as my Favourite Child among these lmfao, but I hope to draw all the characters more this year so that you can get to know them a bit before the comic!

So I wanted to give some mild context to a line in For The Glory, For the Fame, since I don't think I explained it in-story too well:

Aile's actually met Aeolus before, due to the merger of the company he represents as a lawyer with the remains of Slither Inc.

Having said that, though:

Since the merger started, and ESPECIALLY after falling in with Albert/essentially disappearing off the face of the planet, Aeolus has been hunted down a fair bit by corporate saboteurs and assassins looking to halt the merger and take what's left of Slither Inc. for themselves. So he changed up his appearance a bit to try and throw them off - dyed his hair green (it was originally white due to his albinism) and grew it out, ditched the glasses and the fake lens that disguised the colour of his blinded eye. (A previous drawing of mine has him get the glasses back after the events of Advent :) )

This is also why in FTGFTF he's got Siarnaq as a partner; who better to stop assassinations than other assassins?

Had Aile - and even Vent - stopped to take a proper look at him and not been so frantic, they would've been pretty surprised and actually recognised him as "That Aeolus Siolen." However by the time he introduced himself he was already merged with Model H, and at that point all bets were off on whether or not the twins were going to throw hands.

Anyways just wanted to drop that but of lore in!

Went back and re-uploaded an old piece of writing, as catharsis; a short story based off the concept album The Crimson Idol by W.A.S.P. .

Said album had me absolutely stunned the first time I listened to it - I was in the middle of studying, got to the final song and had to put down my pen to do nothing but listen, then proceeded to re-start the album and hear it all over again without my brain being focused on organic chem. To this day it still lives in my head rent-free.

In my opinion there's something very Faustian and tragic about it in between all of the epic rocking; if anything, said epic rocking just makes the eventual protagonist's fate even sadder. Blackie Lawless did a phenomenal job at portraying the darkest possible aspect to this lifestyle, all wrapped up in his signature wailing and crooning.

As for why I went back to it, certain events in my life irl have reminded me of this and the character's eventual fate.

So as I've said in the notes in the last chapter, never ever forget the world is a much better place with you in it.
