Ok. Most of the fandom might cancel me over this but with the exception of kidnapping random children and neglecting his daughter, I view him as a very likeable, cool villain of the kind who makes me want to join forces with him. I see a lot of people talking about being confused about his motives, but I feel I understand them quite clearly. (Might make a post about that one day) He is still terrifying though and what he did to Ellington cannot be forgiven, perfectly justified environmental motives or not.

No, of course not. I only look down on people who claim to be fans, have only watched the Netflix series and are deliberately avoiding reading the books out of an active dislike of reading.
Honestly though, if someone wrote me a 200 page letter as to why they were breaking up with me, I'd never let go of them either.
