Ness had put a bit too much effort into his letter, spending every hour of every day working on it

Kaiser had to drag him out of his room if he wanted to go anywhere

And finally came the day that Ness finished it, now it was time to deliver it to you

But he started doubting himself, and was about to turn back around to redo it, worried that it wasn’t good enough for you

But Kaiser pushed him into you, giving Ness a semi-encouraging smile (but really he was thinking smt like “cmon Ness, just get it over with…”)

Poor Ness could not stop stuttering, with every second his face grew hotter

“I- HERE.” he bowed before shoving the letter in your face and running off

He basically melted once he was out of your line of sight

“ahhhHHHHH KAISER I DID ITT. DO YOU THINK SHE THINKS IM WEIRD?? AGHARG”

“Ness, stop freaking out, it’s literally over-”

“Kaiserrrr, what if she hate’s meeeeeeee ;n; ”

“...cHILL-”

You opened the letter, interested by what he’d write

“Mein Engel, I love you so so much, much more then you could ever believe, I’d do anything for you ♡ Please go out with me? I beg you, I’ll even get on my knees if you ask, please please go out with me. It’ll make me the happiest guy in the world, I’ll be so lucky if you do. I find it hard to believe you like me at all, but I promise I’ll be perfect for you ♡♡♡ Please, just one chance?”

You giggled as you put the paper away, looking forwards to hanging out w/him more

>Otoya

Otoya didn’t see the point in beating around the bush, so he approached you after school one day

“Hey, so you do like me, I was right!” He smirked with a smug face as he put his hands in his pockets

You hesitated, you should’ve expected that he’d be so direct and cocky. “If you’re just here to make fun of me you can go…” you mumbled, slightly embarrassed, and regretted sending the letter

He laughed “No no that’s not what i’m here for. I actually came to ask you out.” Otoya smiled, it seemed genuine, but who knows

“...Huh-?? You fr??” you were understandably skeptical, this man plays around with every girl

“Yea, 100%. I even stopped talking to other girls just for you, so you better accept.” 

“Wait you what-??”

“WHAT I’M TRYING TO SAY- is that I like you and we should go out.” He said, smiling, but his face was starting to flush

You notice this and found it quite amusing, “Alright alright, I’ll go out with you, Mr. F2ck Boy” you teased

He laughed, and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, “Great, I’ll dm you the details” and with that, he left

Internally he was so happy, you actually agreed! He smiled to himself, looking like an idiot

Meanwhile, Karasu, Yukimiya, and Hiori watched from afar, silently laughing at him

>Karasu

In typical Karasu fashion, he felt the need to one up you. So he encrypted his letter as well, challenging you to decode it

He put the letter in front of you, and sat down on the other side of the table.

He had asked to meet with you, so you weren’t that surprised. You looked at the letter then back at him, “You sure you want me to read this in front of you?” you questioned

“Go ahead and try, this is the hardest one yet.” he sounded proud of himself for coming up with such a complex code

“Alright” you shrugged and picked up the paper.

You glanced through the paper, comparing the patterns and symbols. Karasu may’ve been proud, but this type of cipher was actually incredible common 

“Got it.” You looked up at him, only having stared at it for a few seconds 

Karasu’s jaw dropped “No you don’t- there’s no way you figured it out that quickly!”

You laughed “This is one of the most famous codes used in WWII, you know that right?”

“...”

You gave him an amused look, before reading his letter aloud to him “Dear [Y/N], I actually really like you too-”

“AHHIUSHEFLIUAGE;F- SHUT IT-” he stood up suddenly, embarrassed

You burst out laughing, “What’s wrong? Thought you were okay with me reading it in front of you?”

“YEA BUT NOT ALOUD-!!”

You continued to laugh, before gathering yourself as you read the letter while Karasu sat back down, burying his red face into his arms

You finished reading the letter with a smile, and tapped him on his head

He looked up at you, face still flushed, “So, whatcha say?” Karasu asked, barely louder than a whisper

“Sure, I’d love to” you responded, smiling

>Reo

“Reo, you should really try to focus more…. And i’m saying that-” Nagi commented. 

Reo had been spacing out for all of practice, and would occasionally groan or cry in embarrassment. He and Nagi were dropping off his love letter earlier that day, and you had caught them in the action. Reo froze up for a few seconds, as Nagi just watched, eventually having to drag him away and run

“ahHHHH NAGII IM SO STUPID” Reo cried, falling to his knees

“Yea I know, but seriously chill out…” 

“ :((( “

“...”

You were just about to grab your things from your locker to go home when you saw Reo sliding the envelope through the slits in the door. You just watched him, slightly shocked as he continued. 

Finally he stood up and turned around, making eye contact with you. 

Reo’s eyes shot open, his mouth slightly agape. He did NOT plan for you to see this- 

You both stood there for a second, before Nagi dragged Reo away, leaving you there to process what just happened.

You shook it off, and opened you locker, then the letter

“[Y/N], I love you, thank you so much for giving me a chance. I promise I’ll be the best man for you, would you like to join me for dinner?”

Despite the actual letter being pretty short, he had a whole speech on how much he loved you, prepared for when you two went out. He had also slipped a few $100 dollar bills in there, just for good measure ;)

Please go out with him, he’s gonna go emo if you don’t :( 

A/N: Im not sure if i should be putting pt2 in the title, but maybe it helps with navigation so ill try it

Literally just a bouquet of red roses LOL (they aren’t even good ones, it’s like grocery store ones- ;v;) he def forgot

[Manga/Anime cafe/store ]

Niko waited for you outside the school doors, the two of you had agreed to go to the new anime cafe as a date. It had been a few minutes since class ended and you still weren’t there, Niko was getting worried “I swear if she-” he mumbled to himself

“NIKOO” you crashed into him, catching your breath “Sorry- *huff* the teacher- *huff* held us back…”

“Smh [Y/N]... what’d you do now?” he sighed, you getting in trouble was nothing new

“Nothing nothing” you reassured him, brushing yourself off “Anyway, you ready to go?”

Niko nodded as you both left the school ground, chatting about whatever you found interesting. You spotted the cafe with cats in the window, and he saw it too

“Niko Niko look! It’s this one right?” you smiled at him as you pointed to the store 

“Cute…” he replied “The cats I mean-”

You rolled your eyes as the bells above the doors ringed when he pushed it open, “Hello!” a woman greeted as you two entered “Can I get anything started for you? Are will you look around first?”

“We’ll just look around” Niko was already walking towards the large shelfs of Manga on display “There’s so many…” he stared in awe, talking to himself

You quickly skimmed the shelfs til one book caught your eyes, “Hey Niko,” you pulled it out and showed him “Banana Fish, your favourite right?”

He quickly came over and took the book “Yea! Looks like they have all the volumes here!” he smiled while running a finger through the pages “Oh yea, this one's your favourite, right?” he took out another book and handed it to you, it was one you started recently and desperately tried to get Niko to read

“Mhm! You should totally give it a shot one day” you both took the books as you went up to order food

Niko flipped through the menu and pointed out some cute foods to you “Look, this one’s themed after the main character. Oh I think you’ll like this one, it looks pretty sweet.” In the end, you both decided to share some Totoro styled waffles and each got your own themed side drinks.

While you waited for your food to arrive at your table, Niko told you about Banana Fish, and even listened to you rant about your favourite manga/anime

“Have you watched Blue Lock?” You asked him excitedly, forgetting about the fourth wall

“...Blue Lock?” 

“Nevermind-...”

Finally your food was ready, and you took photos (you did the finger hearts for the camera) before cutting it down the middle and taking a bite

“Geez slow down…” he joked, before eating his portion too. After a while, he excused himself quickly before leaving, you just shrugged and continued eating, almost done anyway

He quickly came back with two macarons in hand, blushing slightly, “For you…” he slid the first one to you, a face of your favourite character on it,

“Awww Geto :D wait what happened to his forehead-” you took a toothpick and poked lightly at it, whoever made the macaroon put red icing bubbles on his forehead

Niko held in a laugh “That’s just foul…”

[Doesn’t have to be Geto lol, just thought it was funny]

“Well, thank you for the macaron!” you gave him a quick smile “I hope it wasn’t too much…”

“Nah it’s fine” he sat down beside you and pulled out a postcard “There was a promotion, so I got a free Miku postcard out of it”

He gave it to you to look at, it was a beautiful card, with a high quality Miku on it with a holographic background.

“It’s so pretttyyyy” your eyes sparkled as you stared in awe at it 

“Y-You can have it…”  Niko whispered as he looked away, the slightest blush on his face

“Are you sure??” you asked hesitantly, it was his after all,

“Yea… you’re always 01 in my heart…”

“...”

“...”

“Was that a Miku pick-up line-?”

The two of you finished eating and headed out the cafe, giving a small thanks to the workers 

“Where to now?” He asked, turning towards you

“Hm… I think there’s actually a manga store around here somewhere, there was a new volume I wanted to pick up…”

“Oh I think I know the one you’re talking about… it’s this way.”

Once you guys got there, your jaw dropped at the sight. Shelves upon shelves of books, new and limited ones in display cases. You thought the cafe had a lot, but no- this one had 6x as many. And you could buy them too!

You dragged your finger across the spines of the books, walking down the isles, Niko close behind.

You suddenly stopped and pulled out a book, it was the limited edition of your favourite series. “Niko!” you spun around and showed him the book “It’s the anniversary special :D” you were going to buy it, until you saw the price… you knew that special volumes may be expensive, but you didn’t think they were that much!! 

You put the book back into their places, silently sobbing at the fact you couldn’t afford it 

“Hm, what’s wrong?” he asked you, while watching you shelve them

“It’s too expensive… Don’t worry, I’ll get it one day!” you replied, trying to convince yourself more than him

“Alright… I saw a book over there that seemed interesting, why don’t we split up for now, we can meet up in a few minutes.”

You gave him a nod, and went back to wandering

After a while, you met Niko at the check out. You had already bought 2 books and it seems that he bought one too.

“Hey Niko! Ready to go?” you got your things and got ready to leave

“Mhm” he hummed as he bagged the book, angling it so you couldn’t see the cover

You though, happened to notice, “What did you get?”

He pretended not to hear your question and walked out, waiting for you to follow. You frowned at his lack of a response, but went along anyway

It came the time that you both had to go home, so you two stood at the entrance to the subway station.

“Thank you for coming out with me” he gave you a short bow, blushing slightly. “I got you a gift…” he pulled out the bag from the manga store and presented it to you, “It’s the special volume you wanted…”

As you opened the bag, you found that it was indeed the anniversary special. You thanked him, still in awe at the book and gave him a hug “Thank you so much, Niko! You really shouldn’t have 🥹”

You pulled out your own bag with the books you bought and handed it to him “These are the only volumes you’re missing in your collection, right?” You remember looking though his shelves, you were 70% percent sure he didn’t have these

“Yes, these are the ones…” he took the books gently, his eyes practically glued to them (not that we can rlly tell) “Thank you” he said, barely louder than a whisper

Niko smiled and gave you a wave as you hopped on your train, hugging the books tightly. He really couldn’t stop blushing, happy with how the day went.

It was that day he decided he’d never be able to get sick of you

>Kaiser

[Ice Skating (also for this is set in Germany, during Christmas]

Running around the German night market was a vibe like no other

And Kaiser being there was the cherry on top. He held your hand while gently guiding you through the stalls.

“Schatz, let’s grab some chocolate”, he said while looking at a few bars of chocolate on display. “They have white, milk, dark, caramel, everything. What would you like?” he asked you, having already grabbed a bar of his own, a very bitter dark chocolate.

You silently judged his decision before choosing your own. “You like your chocolate that bitter?” you laughed

He frowned “What’s wrong with that? I aint no p#ssy.” he grinned at you “And milk chocolate sucks. I can’t stand any white-coloured drinks.”

“Chocolate isn’t a drink-”

“Still sucks. Have you made your choice?” He looked at you, taking the bar from your hands and getting ready to pay. You nodded as the worker scanned the bars

“They’re HOW MUCH??” your jaw dropped as you saw the price

Kaiser only smirked as he paid, “They’re traditional, high quality, german chocolate. A very well-known brand.” he opened your bar and held it up to you, “Try it”

( If you didn’t eat it when he offered, he would’ve shoved it down your throat (affectionately) )

The second you took a bite of the chocolate, it felt like you were transported to heaven. It was perfect, the best chocolate you’ve ever had. You quickly took more, taking the the delicious taste and texture

Kaiser did a prideful huff, knowing that he was the reason for the happy look on your face. Even if it was indirectly-  

He ate his own chocolate as the two of you wandered about more, occasionally stopping at other booths. You guys got matching scarfs, keychains, you were so close to getting him to buy cat ears, but he refused.

Eventually, you guys were at the heart of the market, right where the big Christmas tree was. You were spaced out, admiring the lights, before the flash of a camera snapped you out of it.

Kaiser smiled, looking at the photo, “You look beautiful, Meine Liebe.” He gave you a gentle kiss before taking your hand, “Join me skating?”

You didn’t even have to move as kaiser got on his knees to lace up your skates for you. What a gentleman. He even held your hand when getting on the ice. If you didn’t know how to skate, he’d guide you (or just drag you across the ice). If you do know how to skate, he’d definitely challenge you to a race. 

And do NOT underestimate this man, he is GRACEFUL. Unless ur a professional skater, it’ll prob be a pretty close tie, that or he laps you like twice to show off… if you are really good at skating (or if you wanna pretend to be, we don’t judge) and beat him, he’d just say he was going easy on you with a salty smile, trying to convince himself more than you.

After he’s gotten over it, he’d hold you hand (or pocket it) while skating in circles with you, just admiring your voice as you spoke. He’d spin you in circles, twirl you around, all that ;) If he caught anyone staring, he’d just show you off more and pull you in after a spin.

He couldn’t stop smiling, he was so happy, just being by your side and in your presence. This was one of the few times he was quiet, wanting to hear nothing but your voice.

You both skated around for a bit longer before getting off the ice. Kaiser undid your laces, and put everything away for you. After looking at the last few stalls, the two of you exited the market, and Kaiser sent you home.

He texted you once he got home to make sure you did too, and he couldn’t stop smiling. For the whole week, he was smiling, the whole week (until some imbecile talked to him.) the whole team was slightly scared until it was revealed it was because of you. That made more sense to them.

He already marked his calendar for next year, and it’s not a choice <3

>Ness

[Lego date/chill picnic]

You and Ness had been friends for a while, hanging out whenever he wasn’t busy w/Kaiser (which wasn’t really that often). Today was one of the few days you guys had time, so you were wandering the mall and ended up inside the LEGO store.

“[Y/N] look, it’s a blue rose!” he showed you the box, looking at the price tag “Do you think Kaiser would like it?”

You sighed while browsing, “Ness, you don’t have to always be thinking of him… you’re with me right now after all.”

He hesitated for a second before smiling and putting the box back, “Yes, you’re right. Which set do you want?” he followed your eyes, skimming the shelves 

“Oh, what do you think of that one?” you pointed at a LEGO box, a bunny in a magicians hat on the cover “Do you like it?”

“Oh- yes, it looks very nice…” he stared at it, thinking about how cute it was, but still trying to process that you asked for his opinion “Do you like magic and things like that?” he assumed that's why you were grabbing the box

“No” you started walking over to the cashier and gave Ness a smile “But i know you do”

His face turned red at the words, you weren’t wrong, but he didn’t expect you to know that, he’d barely mentioned it.

“Let me pay,” he said as the cashier rang it up. You would’ve stopped him, but before you knew it, he tapped his card and was already putting the box in the bag

He gave you a smile as he held the item. You felt bad because he was already carrying your other belongings, but he insisted and there was really no way you could convince him otherwise.

The two of you left the store, and slowly made your way around the mall. 

“Hey, let’s grab some desserts!” Ness pointed at the bakery and dragged you in “Look look! It’s bread :D” 

You picked out a few foods you liked, and he picked some too.

After buying the food, the two of you left the mall, and for a while it seemed that you both were just mindlessly wandering. But Ness had something planned, and soon you found yourself at a surprisingly clean picnic table at a near-by park. 

“Ness- Where are we??” you hesitated before sitting down after him

“Don’t worry! Do you like it here?” he gave you a smile, a bit of obsession in his eyes

You nodded as he set up all the food, and even brought out the LEGO set. You felt a bit awkward as you just watched him, but he refused to let you help, insisting on doing everything for you with a smile

After everything was laid out, you guys started eating the food, and building the LEGO at the same time. You listened to him talk about his day, and he listened to you talk about yours!

All in all, you two had a fun time! The food was all finished and the LEGO set was built. Ness took a ton of pictures of you the LEGO, and you even let him keep the final product!

[btw i imagine kaiser and ness as good friends (like they were pre-bllk) ]

Ness sat with Kaiser and his family at the table, sorting through Kaiser’s many love letters

“Wow Michael, this must be a new record” Kaiser’s mother laughed “Who knew so many people had bad taste?”

Kaiser glared at his mother “Least we know I didn’t get my pretty genetics from you.”

Ness held in a laugh as he sifted through the pile of love letters. Kaiser’s birthday was over the weekend, and today being Friday, all the fan-girls sent him mail.

“This one girl had sent me like 20…” Kaiser picked up a fat stack, all with the same name signed 

“That’s dedication…” Ness stared in awe at the stack.

But he eventually snapped out of it and continued looking through the pile

“Oh hey, this one’s for you.” Kaiser pulled out a slightly crumpled envelope (from him just shoving it into his bag) “At least it has your name on it… did you send it?” he was hesitant to believe that someone liked Ness

“No I don't think so…” Ness took the letter and inspected it carefully, it was in fact his name written on it. “Lemme read it real quick…” his small smile indicating that he was actually very excited to have a letter sent to him

Kaiser gave him a side-eye before going back to counting his own, silently jealous that someone liked Ness and not him

Ness, on the other hand, was having the time of his life. “AHHHHHHHHH WHAT IF [Y/N] SENT IT TO ME!! AHDOIFHABWIEUFBI”

He was smiling like crazy, he knew well that the handwriting, signature, and writing style was yours, he was all to familiar with it

For good measure, he pulled out a piece of your English homework and compared the two (how he got your homework? Don’t ask)

It was definitely yours, he was sure. You did have 2 classes with kaiser that day (don’t ask about that either), and you walked past them 6 times in the hallway.

At this point Ness was quietly squealing, he was so excited that you liked him back!

Kaiser silently laughed at this, not quite understanding why Ness was so happy, but also knowing full well that he may or may not be slightly(??) obsessed with you, so he didn’t bother

Ness was then day-dreaming for the next several minutes, and would even blank out occasionally for the rest of the day

“For f#ck’s sake Ness, just write back to her already…” Kaiser was getting annoyed at the heart pupils in his eyes “I swear if you’re gonna be like this on my birthday-”

“OK OK SORRY!!” Ness apologize before slipping the letter away “I’ll do later” he promised himself that he’d make it perfect, just for you :3

>Otoya

“No thank you, I’m alright” Otoya gently pushed the girl off his chest, the girl looked up at him with confusion 

Hiori and Karasu’s jaws dropped while Yukimiya just laughed, “See, told you. Pay up”

The two other boys grumbled as they pulled out a few coins “There’s no way he actually did that, wasn’t he making out with that girl just a few weeks ago?” Hiori questioned, it wasn’t like Otoya to reject a girl, if anything, he was usually the one making the first move. Something must be going on.

“I told you” Yukimiya collected the few coins “I swear there’s some other girl he likes, why else would he stop talking to the others?”

“Rejecting girls for another girl?” Karasu also found this really suspicious “Unlikely. That would imply that he actually isn’t a total ass. Which we know isn’t true.”

Otoya rolled his eyes “Who do you think I am? Also- if you’re gonna discuss your little ‘bets’, maybe don’t do it right in front of my locker.” he laughed, not answering their questions

Hiori and Karasu frowned, “cmon, tell ussss!!” Yukimiya nodded in agreement “I must say, I'm curious too. Who’s the lucky or… unlucky girl?”

Otoya scoffed “No one. I don’t like anyone.” he laughed “Do you really think I’d get attached to someone so easily? Only a fool would do that.”

As he said that, he opened his locker to grab his jacket, when an envelope fell out. It spun in the air before landing on the floor, face down with the signature showing.

“ ‘[Y/N]’, heart.” Karasu read, “Is that the girl?”

Otoya swiped the envelope up quickly, “You saw nothing.” he shoved it in his bag, pretending nothing happened

“[Y/N]? Do you like her!?!”

“Does she like you!?”

“Why is it signed with a heart!?”

“Is it a love letter!?”

The three boys bombarded Otoya with questions, to which he didn’t answer. “I dunno what you guys are talking about.” He laughed with a smile, but his heart was beating so fast. He was asking himself the same questions, “Does she like me? Do I like her? Is it a love letter? Why is it signed with a heart???”

“Wait [Y/N]? She’s in my chem class, I have a project with her.” Karasu remembered working on it with you

“Lucky bastard…” Otoya whispercursed with a smile under his breath, Hiori and Yuki gave him a side-eye, not knowing what he said

“Wait, doesn't she have a boyfriend-???” Karasu looked at him

“Does she?” Otoya internally panicked, there’s no way you were already taken by someone else. “That’s fine, I can work with that.” he shrugged it off

“Why would she send him a letter then?” Hiori questioned

Karasu laughed, “That was a trap, I just wanted to see if it really was her.” he gave a prideful huff “She is in my class though- I’ll ask her tomorrow.”

Otoya froze in playful betrayal, “I don’t like her. I swear”

Yuikimiya rolled his eyes “Right right.”

Otoya laughed before grabbing his jacket and bag “Whatever. I’m gonna go home now, cya tmr.”

“Make sure to read it!”

“Remember to write back!!”

“Bye lover-boy!!”

The three boys teased him about the newfound crush. Otoya only scoffed and smiled, before walking home, reading the letter on the way. 

He looked around him to make sure no one was watching, before smiling like an idiot at the confession. “Hm. Knew she’d like me.” He felt a surge of pride, “Now i’m guaranteed to win her over.” He tucked the letter away, already thinking about what to write back.

>Karasu

[Adding on from First/Second Encounters, SchoolAU!w/Otoya, Hiori, and Yukimyia]

You and Karasu had been passing each other notes for quite a while now, sometimes in class, or just in the hallway, whenever, really.

The two of you even went out a few times, as friends(??) of course. Eventually making your own codes together as a fun pass-time

Karasu was just eating lunch with Otoya, Hirori, and Yukimiya when you stopped by and slid him an envelope before walking off.

“oOooo, your girlfriend just gave you something~~” Otoya teased, knowing well that he liked you

Karasu just laughed, “She’s not my girlfriend.” He picked the letter up and looked at it carefully

“Not yet.” Hiori added, “You’ve been trying to confess for weeks now, but you always chicken out.”

“Yea, it’s getting kinda depressing.” Yukimiya nodded

Karasu just rolled his eyes before going back to the letter written in code. He took a bit to decipher it, reading it word for word

“What does it say?? I literally can’t read that-” Otoya squinted at the paper

“I think that’s the point…” Hiori commented, before looking back at Karasu “Looks like we lost him…”

Karasu just sat there, smiling to himself, not hearing a single word the other’s said. He was much too caught up in the fact that you had basically confessed, he was worried he mis-read it. He looked over the words again, before tucking the letter away, and covered his stupid smile with his hand, but his whole face was red.

“The words may be hard to read, but his face sure isn’t” Yukimiya laughed at Karasu’s expression “I’m guessing she confessed?”

“What? No?” Karasu tried to play it off, but he really couldn’t stop smiling.

“Awwwww, such cute love birds.” Hiori teased, “When will your relationships be this innocent, Otoya?”

The fboy only shrugged

“Back to Karasu,” Yukimiya turned to him “What are you gonna write back?”

“Don’t worry about it.” Karasu stuffed a spoonful of crappy-cafeteria food in his mouth, still somehow smiling, “You’ll see though. If I’m lucky, the next time you guys meet her, I’ll get to introduce her as my girlfriend”

>Reo

“Reo, can we please take a break” Nagi whined

“Alright, we’re done anyway.” Reo took a sip of his water, finishing up their training. 

The two of them packed up, bagging their things before a small envelope fell out of Reo’s duffle.

“Hey Reo, what’s that?” Nagi pointed at the slip of paper that had fallen in a small puddle, the corner now wet

Reo looked down on it before picking it up and shaking it lightly to get the water off “Looks like another love letter.” He tossed it in a bin with a shrug 

“What if [Y/N] sent it?” Nagi said, knowing 

Reo froze for a few seconds, “What if [Y/N] sent it-” He did a 180° and shifted through the trash for the letter

He felt slightly embarrassed to be digging through garbage, but whatever. He picked the letter back up and inspected it carefully, what if you really did send it?

“Wow, what a sight… the richest boy in school is digging his hands in the trash for some letter…” Nagi mentally judged him, but shrugged it off, used to Reo’s desperation by now

Reo carefully slipped the envelope in his pocket, and turned to leave. He used to read all the love letters he got, he’d be lying if he said they didn’t boost his ego. But ever since he started crushing on you, he couldn’t bring himself to, always imagining it was you who wrote to him (until Nagi told him he looks kinda desperate so he stopped reading them all together). But surely reading this one couldn’t hurt, right?

Once he got home, he went to his room immediately. His caretakers found this a bit strange, but Reo was acting weird ever since he mentioned you, so they didn’t bat an eye

He threw his bags down and put the envelope on his desk, tilting his light to face it. It was like he was dissecting an animal.

He sat down, and opened it carefully, making sure not to touch the still wet corner. He took a few seconds to admire the kuromi theme before reading the letter.

Reo tried to keep a straight face while reading it, but his heart was beating 100x faster than before. He had to take a moment to process after he read it.

There wasn’t even a way to be sure you were the one who sent it, what if he was freaking out over nothing? He looked again at the name signed, but it was muddled out from the water. Reo cursed himself for letting it drop into the puddle.

All he could see was the first letter, and it was in fact yours. But Reo knew better than to get ahead of himself, what if sent back a letter and it wasn’t you!?

He sprung out of his chair quickly and went to go look for his parents.

“Mom! Do we have any restoration technicians?” Reo barged into the room, unaware they were in the middle of a small meeting, he gave a quick apologetic bow to the guests in the room

“Reo honey, is it urgent?” Ms. Mikage asked politely, gesturing at the clients.

“Yes. Very.” Reo nodded, 100% serious.

His mother took a moment to think before replying “There should be one in the services department, though I'm not sure if he’s what you're looking for. Ask for Mr. Deez when you get there.”

Reo bowed, “Thank you, mother.” and with that, he ran out the room and towards the Mikage office.

Usually, he’d book a chauffeur, but he didn’t have time for that, he had to get there now. 

He pushed the glass doors open and stumbled to the receptionist, “I’d like to talk to Mr. Deez from the services department-” Reo took a moment to catch his breath

“I- yessir, right away.” The receptionist quickly dialled the man up and poured Reo a glass of water.

Once the recoverist arrived, he sat down with Reo and examined the letter. “Hm, I’m not sure I can do much for you, but I might know a man who can.” he pulled out his phone and started typing, “What did you say this was? A love letter?”

“Don’t worry about that” Reo said quickly “so did you find someone who can help?”

 “Yes, though he’s a bit far.” He showed Reo the location, “This is his shop, he specializes in these things, often working with detective agencies. You can call him Mr. Nuts” 

Reo took a picture of the map and stood up, “Thank you, Mr. Deez.” Before he could blink, Reo was already running out the door. 

Reo checked the map as he ran, it’d be a 27 minute drive, there’s no way he could run faster. He stopped in his tracks before calling his chauffeur.

Once the car got there, Reo hopped in, coffee in hand. “Take me here.” he showed the man the location, and they were off.

Reo tapped his finger as they drove, getting anxious. What if they didn’t make it before he closed? What if they couldn’t help him? What if he finds out that you weren’t the one who sent it? What if-

“Mr. Mikage, we’re here.” the chauffeur parked and was about to open the door for Reo before he hopped out himself

“Thank you, wait here for me.” it was too late to turn back now, he’d already put a good few hours into this

He walked through the doors and looked around, it was a small shop, tools lying everywhere. “Hello? May I talk to Mr. Nuts?”

“Oh? A new customer? Welcome! I am Mr. Nuts, how may I help you?” an older looking man sat at a rusted table 

Reo explained the situation and handed him the letter, asking for his help.

“I see I see, let’s take a look” The man took the letter and put it under a special light

“Please handle it with care.” Reo couldn’t help but worry

The man pulled out a few tools, some napkins to dry it, and put it under a metal machine. “Here, do you see that?” He pointed at a small screen attached “There’s what you're looking for.”

On the screen showed a filtered picture of the letter, and there was your name signed. 

Reo’s eyes widened, it really was you who sent it to him! His entire face lit up, he couldn’t help but blush a little, the long chase had been worth it.

“Thank you, sir.” he took the letter back and held it tightly “For your trouble.” Reo threw a few bills down before exiting the store

The ride home felt much shorter than the ride there, but Reo couldn’t complain. He plopped down on his bed, letter still in hand. His heart was beating like never before, face still flushed.

Suddenly, a notification from his phone snapped him out,

Reo grinned, “Great idea, Nagi.”

>First Encounter

You took a sip of your drink, sitting at the short table by the cafe door, people crowding around the small shop, i suppose around this time is rush hour, after all.

“This is fine! Perfectly normal, nothing to see here….” you typed away gibberish on your notes app to seem busy, and hope that no one would talk to you. Specifically the weird man standing in the corner, who’s been staring at you for the past 4 minutes. You’re not even sure if he’s blinked… 

“I should really get outta here… is he STILL staring at me???? Alright im out-” you thought to yourself, and got ready to leave. But not before Mr. Mysterious-Man sat down across the table.

“Hello.” he stared right into your eyes. You levitated above your seat, half-way through standing up

“Hi…?” you smiled awkwardly, sitting back down as if it wasn’t a choice. He looked like he’d kill you if he did. And that bowl cut wasn’t helping-

“Do I know you?” you asked, quickly examining the man

“No. This is our first interaction. It’s nice to meet you, [Y/N] [L/N].” the man smiled, showing off his eerily straight teeth and pitch black eyes, extending a hand.

A shiver went down your spine at the sight, but you shook his hand anyway. “Haha… how do you know my name? Mr…?”

“Jinpachi.” he stated, his eyes never once leaving yours “Ego Jinpachi. I’m the director of Project Blue Lock. And you are the renowned [Y/N], correct? You were the pride and joy of Japan’s soccer at your peak, then you disappeared and your contracts were terminated. It’s been a while since anyone has seen you.”

It was creepy. How much did this man know about you??

“Yea… something like that” you muttered, sipping your drink again 

“I’m a big fan.” he stated, (which you did not believe at all) “I have your ‘ Birthday Special ! Plushie ’.”

“Oh!” that caught you off guard-... 

Ego slid you a business card, “You should work alongside me on Project Blue Lock. I assure you, there are many benefits.” he stood up and bowed, “Please send an email if you’re interested.”

And with that, the man left the cafe. Leaving you at your little coffee table alone.

There were still many people around, the whole interaction only lasted max 6 minutes anyway, but those were easily the most interesting 6 minutes since you ended your career.

You stood up and took the business card, flipping it around in your hands

“Project Blue Lock / Blue Lock: Project Word-Champion [Blue Lock: PWC] / Blue Lock TV [BLTV] ”

That many projects? Surely working on those would bring good money, right? You wondered how long your savings could support you before you would eventually need a job again…

He had crossed out the official business email, and written his own/personal one instead… 

You pocketed the card, picked up your drink and went on your way. But maybe, just maybe you’ll send him an email. It didn’t sound like a terrible idea anyway….

>Second Encounters 

You stepped through the automated double doors, blue pentagons decorating the room

“Hey Ego” you greeted, looked around the dark room filled with monitors and file cabinets 

“Hello, Ms.[Y/N]. I’m glad to see you’ve taken up my offer after all.” he spun around in his wheely chair like the anime villain he is. “I’m sure Anri has greeted you well?”

Anri nodded eagerly beside you, “Yes! I gave her a map of the place, drinks, food, my number, and a master keycard!”

“Good good. Ego stood up before you, looking into your eyes for a good few seconds before deciding to speak again. “Please make yourself comfortable, Anri will guide you to your room, I’ll be in here if you need me.” Ego when back to his chair, redirecting his attention to the monitors.

You followed Anri through the halls, trying to remember your steps(which was hard in such a repetitive building…) 

“So, Ms.[Y/N], do you think I could get your autograph after!?” she looked at you with stars in your eyes “Oh and one for Ego too- I think he’s too embarrassed to ask you” she laughed

“Sure!” you laughed as well, “And no need for the ‘ms’.”

Anri nodded “Alright then. This is your room” she opened the door and showed you inside “It’s pretty spacey, feel free to decorate as you wish! My room is just down the hall, and Ego’s is across from mine. Please let me know if there’s anything you need.”

You hummed an acknowledgement, looking around the room. “Here” you took two of the business cards on the nightstand and signed them, handing them to Anri. “For your’s and Ego’s troubles”

She smiled and took them happily “Thank you! I’ll be sure to give one to him today. And don’t worry too much! Ego’s been pretty happy having you around, he’s been checking his email every hour since the first day you guys met, LOL!” she laughed at the memory “He’s also been worrying about welcoming gifts or something- he was asking me if girls like flowers and whatnot… you do like them right? Actually don’t answer that- he already bought them, haha…”

You tried to hide an amused smile, “Alright, I’ll have to ask him about it”

She nodded before making her way out your room “Mhm! I’ll see you around!” 

You waved at her as she closed the door, now alone in your new room. You wondered how the rest of your time here at Blue Lock would go…

BONUS

You looked around the halls, which one was this? Surely your room was one of these… right?

“This one!” you grabbed the doorknob with blind confidence, and put your full body weight on the door and pushed.

Un(fortunately), that’s was not your room.

You fell to the ground, overestimating how heavy the door is. “Ow…” you swore under your breath, even though it didn’t hurt at all- (A/N: please tell me i'm not the only person that does this-...)

“You okay?” 

You looked up at the man staring down at you, “WTF HE LOOKS LIKE HE’S GONNA KILL ME???”

Ego squatted down and tilted his head “Not injured are you?”

“I-nono im good” you sat up quickly and brushed yourself off

Ego nodded, “did you need something?”

“Oh uhm… nope! I’ll figure it out.” you insisted. You couldn’t let Ego know you got lost! How pathetic would he think you are!?

“Ok, well the door’s there.”

“Yup ok! Sorry….!”

You smiled awkwardly while mentally panicking as you make your way out

“Here.” Ego spat out quickly, shoving a bouquet in your hands, before pushing you out the door. You didn’t get a good look at his face, but that was probably bc he was turned away from you ;)

>Birthday gifts from him

This man either gets you the bare minimum because he was busy til last second, or went all out and got you everything you wanted. Depends on how busy he was.

He knows nothing about throwing you a party, or going out, so Anri went with you instead(if you wanted to)

Ego doesn’t quite understand the point in cakes, but he knew you wanted one, so he went to the grocery store and bought the first one he saw (he knows nothing about cakes)

Anri had him put on a party hat and one of those party blower things (yk, the ones that shoot out then curl back in like a snail? Yea, just the thought of him with one of those amuse me.

He probably just gave you his (black?)card and told you to buy whatever you wanted. If you asked him to go with you to the mall he would, but he would REFUSE to carry your bags. “ you were the one who bought it. ” or smt like that… but if you bother him enough, he wouldn’t mind carrying a few ;)

>Roommate

This man, cannot clean for the life of him

Actually no, he is very capable of it, he just can’t be bothered too….

At first you tried to get him to clean, but eventually gave up after he waved you off and said he’d do it later, for the 5th time….

He doesn't say it often, but he’s really grateful that you clean for him, and his thanks come in the form of surprise take out food when you get back from work

You tried to figure out his sleep schedule, but everytime you checked he’d be awake. 1pm? Awake. 11pm? Awake. 4am? Awake. 

You asked him when he sleeps, and he just shrugged

After living with you though, his schedule started to change. You wouldn’t know it, but Ego now sleeps a bit after you do, and wakes up just before. 

And he will glare at you if you wake him up.

Will refuse to eat anything but instant ramen. But on VERY special occasions, he’ll make and exception for the food you cook. This happens around 3 times a year-

Ego will also steal any and all snack you bought, nor does he read any sticknotes you may’ve stuck on your food.

Doesn’t go out often, and doesn’t tell you when he does.

His living habits go through phases of months, he’ll be super healthy for a while, just to throw himself into work the next few months, this man does not know the work “consistent” when it comes to work or life

>Kiss on the cheek

This man reacts fastttt, his eyes widened before you were off him.

He whipped his head around to stare at you, face in pure shock. He just stands there with wide eyes.

It takes a bit before he can form any kind of thought, but he’ll grab your waist and pull you in, resting his head either on your head or in your nape, but he won’t say anything

I don’t think this man has had affection before 😭

He’ll return a quick kiss on your neck too ;)

>Watching his game

You insisted on watching one of the NEL games with Ego, and he finally gave in.

“I don’t understand why you’re making this such a big deal.” Ego stood a bit behind you while you set up popcorn, drinks and blankets behind the one-way glass Ego said you had to watch behind.

“Cmon, it’ll be fun!” You fluffed up the pillows and sat down, opening a bag of your sour patch kids (A/N: u better like sourpatchkids.) 

Ego hesitated before sitting down beside you (closer than he usually does with other, how strange...) and snatching your candy, keeping his eyes on the game.

You frowned and pouted at him for a bit, before grabbing one of the two popcorn bags and tearing it open.

Which Ego also snatched-

He plucked a piece of popcorn and popped it in his mouth. Before spitting it out and coughing.

“HAHAHHAILWUEHFAILEFLMAOOOOOOO” you laughed at him, tearing up almost

“SHUT UP.” he glared at you “You’re disgusting for liking butter.”

“No, I’m normal. You’re a psychopath for liking yours plain.”

He rolled his eyes in response before grabbing the other bag, and enjoying his unbuttered popcorn in peace.

You two watched the game, making comments and analyzing the game as it unfolded.

“Look at that old dog, he’s actually so ass.” Ego spat

“NOEL NOA????”

“Did I stutter?”

“...ur just jealous”

“No im not.”

“You totally are. He’s better than you, admit it”

“NO HE’S NOT.”

“YES HE IS”

And oh look at that! While you two were arguing, somehow the space between you guys shrank? 👀

I’m sure one of you two will notice when you guys stop arguing, which will be soon, right?...

SEPARATE (ALTERNATIVE)

You stared at the laptop screen intently, watching the striker run across the field.

Your door was closed and your lights were off, you hoped that no one would think you’d be awake, despite it being 10am-...

It was so hard to find videos of Ego. It was mentioned that he was pro at one point, but there was nothing on the first page of google about his soccer career! 

But finally you found a video, so yes you were gonna watch it.

“[Y/N]” Ego practically threw your door open “Wake-... What are you watching?”

You had slammed the laptop shut and shoved it under your pillow, laughing awkwardly “Nothing!”

He glared at you. He’s not buying sh%t.

“ EGO JINPACHI SCORESSSS ” your laptop blares 

Shit.

“[Y/N]. WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING”

He gets closer to you, his eyes almost bulging out of his head. “[Y/N].!?”

“Ego, you okay?” Enri looked concerningly at the man. He’d been sitting there with his head in his hands, and is he… blushing???

“Anri. She found it…”

“Your secret collection of her merch?”

“nO-”

Usually Ego was the one busy, he rarely had time for you. You decided to get him back and pretend that you were busy the next time he asked

“A… Date?” you looked at Ego, still processing his bluntness

“Yes. Anri kept bothering me about it. Are you interested?”

“Uhm…. Yea! Sure i am!”

“Great. I’ll come pick you up later.”

You nodded as Ego went off. You hadn’t moved an inch, still trying to figure out what just happened “Holy sh%t- I HAVE A DATE WITH EGO.” you tried to calm yourself as you returned to your room.

“Wait- what time did he say? HE DIDN’T TELL ME WHEN. OR WHERE. IS IT EVEN TODAY????”

You dug through your closet, but it was hard putting together an outfit when you had no clue where you were going. 

Finally, you picked an outfit you were happy with. Ego probably didn’t pick a very fancy place. Unless he did- you supposed he’d pick something ‘traditional’ to get it over with… it probably wasn’t gonna be a ‘fun’ date to the aquarium or anything…. Unless he did because Anri told him to- Aghhh this man told you nothing! This ‘date’ was truly a wildcard.

You fell back on your bed, sighing. Whatever happens, at least you picked an fit! That’s a good start.

“[Y/N].” you heard a knock at the door “Let’s go.”

WHAT. ALREADY??? HOW LONG DID YOU SPEND PICKING WHAT TO WEAR- oh it’s been like 3 hours already. It was 5pm, so probably not a dinner date.

Ego opened the door, and saw you in your sloth state. You wondered if it’d be worth the hassle to explain the situation. “Cmon.” He grabbed you by the wrist and dragged you out your room.

“Wait- I should probably change-...”

“You’ll be fine. It’s nothing fancy.”

You went along with him (not that it was much a choice)

Ego opened the taxi doors for you, “Get in.” you did as he said and he sat beside you. You wondered if Ego had a drivers licence at all-

“Home depot.” he spoke to the driver

“HOME DEPOT??? DOES THAT EVEN COUNT AS A DATE??” but you said nothing as the car made it’s way over

Ego was staring at you, and spoke up suddenly “What’s wrong.” it came out more as a demand then a question

“Nothing nothing! I’m fine.”

He glared at you

“... I’m just sad I didn't get to wear the outfit I was planning, that’s all….” you laughed, waving it off

“You can wear it when we get back, can’t you? And you look fine, don’t worry about it.”

He put a hand on your thy (or if ur uncomfy, he just nudged you) and squeezed it gently. Ego would never admit he thinks your day to day/casual wear looked the best on you.

“Easy for you to say” you mumbled under your breath, “you wear the same thing everyday…”

Ego glared at you. Clearly displeased. 

Luckily for you, the car had come to a stop. You both exited the taxi as you said a quick “thank you” and Ego paid.

You really were at Home Depot.

Ego didn’t hesitate before going in, so you followed. He looked like he’d been here 20+ times, walking past all the isles to get to wherever he was going. Which turned out to be the ‘House Plants’ section

“Anri said I need to touch grass more often. This is basically the same thing.” he grabbed a potted succulent 

You looked at him, then the plant, then back at him. “He’s serious isn’t he-...” 

“Is there anything you want?” He looked at you, examining your body language 

“From Home Depot? Not really-” You thought to yourself if there was anything. 

“Here.” Ego grabbed another succulent, similar but shorter than his, “Now were matching.”

You tried to process what he just said, but he was already walking towards the cashier.

You’re MATCHING… with EGO. As you walked, the paint section caught your eye. A quick peak wouldn’t hurt! Ego wouldn’t even notice if you made it quick.

You ducked into the isle, there were many kinds of paint and other kid’s crafts. You picked up a pack of googly eyes and small bottles of paint. Your succulent deserved to be beautiful.

Alright, now time to go find Ego again. You turned around and- “AHHGHAH. HI EGO??” 

WAS HE RIGHT BEHIND YOU THIS WHOLE TIME????

He looked at the items in your hand, and took them in his own. “Is that all?”

You nodded as he headed back towards the exit. Ego paid for everything and led you back to a cab. “I assume you want to decorate your plant?”

“Yes that’s right” you nodded “Would you be interested in joining me…?”

Ego thought for a second, “Sure.”

You gave an amused smile, watching Ego do a kids’ craft was definitely something to look forward to.

“Great, just try to make it something that isn’t soccer themed, yea?”

“... You’re expecting too much.”

>Sending Love Letters

The BLLK vs U-20 game just ended a few days ago. And that’s great and all, but that also means your contract of partnership has expired. In other words- you’re done with Blue Lock.

Were you very happy about that? No, you’d miss seeing Anri and Ego everyday (definitely NOT mainly ego), the weirdly not terrible cafeteria food, you’d say your little succulent but you got to take him with you. 

The plant including all your other belongings had almost all been packed, you were ready to go at any moment.

And you would, soon. Right after you dropped off a letter to Ego. Which was Anri’s idea- something about “Ego’s never been so inlove!” and “You might never see him again!” 

Ignoring the first part, she did have a point. So here you stood, love letter in your hands, slipping under Ego’s office door.

You sighed. You really were ready to leave now. You did a last tour of the building, you had learnt your way around these cold halls. Whatever. It was time to go.

You threw on a bag and glanced at all your boxes, sitting stacked in your room. Anri said they’d ship it over, but you wondered if your little apartment could hold that many things.

The halls didn’t feel quite as scary as they used to, as you made your way one last time through them towards the exit. Taking some last moments to yourself, letting go was a part of life, you didn't expect to stay here forever. This was a good chapter of your life, you were happy to have been invited to Blue Lock in the first place. 

So why was it that when you were finally ready to go, THE DAMN DOORS WOULDN’T OPEN??

It’s not like you could pry them open, these were supposed to be automatic! “Automatic my ass….”

You frowned, it was not worth the loss of aura to try and break it open. Or maybe it was worth a shot… no one’s watching anyway right? Right… Wrong.

“[Y/N]” Ego stood behind you, oh god this man was everywhere you were. 

“Ego! The door won’t open…” you gestured awkwardly 

“I know. I turned it off to stop you from leaving”

He handed you a folded piece of paper (that was clearly rushed from both the handwriting and ripped edges) and encouraged you to read it 

You gave him a confused look before opening it and skimming it quickly.

“Don’t go.... enjoyed our time ... I like you too…. reNEW YOUR CONTRACT.??” 

You mentally read to yourself, jaw on the floor. Maybe you should probably read the whole thing. Which you managed to do pretty quickly.

“Well? Does that make sense to you?” Ego asked, trying to understand your thoughts

You gave a hesitant nod, “Yea.. so does that mean my contract’s renewed? I get to continue working on BlueLock with you…?”

God that sounded cringe….

Ego nodded “If you’d like.”

You smiled, “I’d love to.”

Anri watched from the security cameras “Ahhhrgh! Are they just going to ignore the fact that they both just declared their love for each other!!!”

She slumped down on the chair “God these two are hopeless…”
