the teacher had given the class the questions beforehand, so you wrote down the odds and your boyfriend wrote down the evens

you later wrote down the even number questions and answered them, along with answering all your odd questions besides one

you stared at your paper with confusion, not wanting your boyfriend to notice that you were struggling with a specific question

you frantically looked through the textbook, trying to find the answer to no avail

ponyboy glanced over to you, seeing your worried face, asking quietly, “you want some help, y/n?” not wanting you to be embarrassed

you shook your head, not looking back at him, still flipping through the pages of the history textbook

he wanted you to get the question without telling you or asking once again if you needed help, so he flipped to the page where he found the answer in his textbook, and put it into your view

ponyboy stayed quiet, you glanced at his desk to see the textbook on his desk, flipped to a certain page, the topic of your question in big red text

you flipped to the page in your book, writing down the answer in your notes page

your boyfriend smiled at you, asking if you’d like to go over your notes to see if you got the same answers

you nodded and read over your notes, all of your answers matching

ponyboy would help you in discreet ways, ways that you would hardly think about as helping

but he was fine that you didn’t consider his actions as helping, he didn’t want you to think he was helping, because then you would become distant

he would try to be on his own sometimes, to be independent, but would get used to asking help from people even though he was fine with doing things on his own

he said, “oh, maybe we can share popcorn? um, i can pay, actually..” not wanting to be rude

you replied with a yes to sharing the popcorn, but refusing to let him pay for the food

he nodded, knowing you wouldn’t let him pay, but he wanted you to know that he would pay if you let him

johnny is someone who didn’t really get a lot of affection, so he kind of craves it

but the two of you make your relationship work, and he respects your boundaries, knowing how difficult it was when rules and boundaries were crossed

so he showed his love for you with affectionate words, even if you wouldn’t say it back

you would help him with things, along with his emotions but never opening up yourself

he knew you cared for him and loved him, but you had a very difficult time expressing it

you and soda were walking down the street after getting two milkshakes from a diner

the two of you were walking back to your house and he was talking about a weird person who walked into the DX

“so, there was this guy, right. and he walked into the shop, hardly fitting through the doors. and as a reminder, we have double doors, you know? anyway, he ordered a soda and a burger, then when he walked away, me and steve saw his asscrack!!! then guess what steve said! he yelled after the guy, ‘pull up your pants, man!!’” while giggling constantly

you laughed and he lightly hit your shoulder, but you moved away quickly, slouching and looking around the road nervously

he apologized, continuing to talk about other things that happened at the shop, knowing you’d want the conversation to keep going, distracting you

he’s naturally a very touchy person but tries hard not to be physical with you since he knew you would get uncomfortable

you and darry were at his house, planning to make chocolate cake together, trying to work on collaborating with each other

the two of you were talking while measuring ingredients, putting them into the bowl

“is pony still doing good in school?” you asked, being genuinely curious, looking at your boyfriend for a split second

he nodded, explaining that he was the top of his class and got number one in long jump for his track meet the other day

the two of you continued your conversation, darry passing by you, not before putting a hand on your hip

you cowered and moved away slightly, his hand coming off your hip, apologies coming out of his mouth

he also had a difficult time asking for help, people often expecting a lot for him, more than he could give

so he naturally became independent, just like you

the two of you would try to practice relying on each other, just to get used to being a bit dependent on each other

the two of you knew you didn’t have to be dependent on each other in order to love each other, and you knew that

the officer talked to the both of you, telling you it’s wrong to steal, and recommending that you break up with him, that dally would only get you into more trouble

the two of you previously got arrested for stealing money from someone

you and dally were very alike, both of you hardly asked for help or showed affection in public besides laughing and talking with each other

so you and dally were a good couple and had the same boundaries and expectations

you and your boyfriend, keith, were at his house hanging out after school

both of you were in his room and you were helping him out with homework, even though you were younger than him but in a higher grade, him being held back many times

after your boyfriend was done struggling and you were done explaining the questions, you brought out your science homework and stared at it for a couple seconds

two-bit noticed and asked you, “need help, babe?” and you politely shook your head, muttering, “no thank you..”

he watched you struggle and knew you wouldn’t ask for help, he knew you picked up habits from your childhood that caused you to be highly independent

when you walked into the shop, seeing your boyfriend at the register, you smiled

“hey y/n, didn’t expect to see you here. how’d that test go? i knew you were talking about it for the past few days..” he said

as you walked up to steve, you hesitantly said, “oh, um… i didn’t get that good of a score. eighty-four percent, i’m gonna retake it.” looking away, feeling shameful

steve looked at you, telling you that he could help you study if you wanted it

you turned down his offer, wanting to do everything on your own, he knew you were independent but thought you needed help sometimes, however you wouldn’t let him help you

“you sure? don’t want you to be stressed, no shame in asking for help.” he told you, and you stared at him for a few seconds, saying “thank you, but i’m fine. really. i’ll study for a few days, the retake isn’t until thursday.”

he nodded and looked down, mumbling an “alright” then asked “you wanna go out to eat if you get a good score?” looking at you then smiling

you smiled widely at him and blushed, nodding at his question

he’s a little more stubborn than the rest of the group, so you can get a bit frustrated if he keeps persisting to help you with something

but he just wants to show you that he cares about you, and with the small chance that you’d want help, he would help you

he said he thinks a vertical labret would look good on you, and you say the same for him

you say you can give him a piercing since you have everything at home, plus you were already walking in the direction of your house

he said darry might get mad at him, but he wants to have fun so he went

when the two of you arrived at your house, he followed you upstairs after he took his shoes off

walking into your room, you told him to close the door behind him and you’d get the supplies

you grabbed surgical gloves, a needle and a silver barbell

you walked back to pony, seeing him sitting on the chair of your vanity

you moved his hair away from his face and lightly kissed him, asking him if he really wants the piercing

he’s still looking up at you and nods

you pick up the blue pen and draw as gently as you can on his lip

he looks in the mirror and says “is that where the piercing would be?” so you say yes, and asks him if it’s a good place

he says yes and you wipe it off his lip, preparing to shove the needle through his lip

you count down for him “3..2..1..” and pushed the needle through his lip, his eyes closing

you told him, “you’re doing great, just a few more seconds…”

you grabbed the barbell and put it through his lip, the needle going through

he sat down on the couch and waited for you to get the supplies you needed

you grabbed a piercing ring, needle, gloves and a napkin for bleeding

you had a pen on a table nearby, so you grabbed it and drew a dot on his lip

he looked in the mirror across from him and said it was in a nice place

you wiped it off and smiled at him, gently pulling his lip down and grabbed a piercing ring that would go in his lip

you put the needle through his lip and got the piercing, putting it through the hole and pulling the needle out

he had his eyes closed, and licked his lips after the piercing was done

it had only taken a few minutes, so he looked at the mirror across from him once again and smiled

he thanked you and gave you a kiss

you took off your gloves and the two of you went upstairs to your room

“yeah you can go to y/n’s house. don’t do anything irresponsible, soda. be back by 12.” darry said

soda said thank you to his brother, you smiled at him and grabbed his hand, walking out the door together

the two of you got into your car, heading towards your house

you pierced your own ears before, and if you can do your own then he can do someone else’s

when you arrived at your house, your parents greeted him and you told soda to up to your room

you grabbed some paper towels and a needle then headed upstairs to your room

you caught him looking at your vanity, where there’s a photo of you and soda at the beach, along with cute notes from him stuck on the big mirror

you grab a box filled with many earrings, only the ones you’ve never used

“pick which pair of earrings you want, soda, tell me which ones and we’ll put them in when your ears are pierced.” you tell him

he looks through the box for a few seconds, then choses silver ones, asking if he can have them

you of course say yes, and tell him to sit on the vanity chair

he sits and stares up at you while you put on your gloves, using a pen to make dots on his ears

you turn his head to look at the mirror so he sees the placement of the dots, and says they look good

you wipe off the mark and grab the clean needle, asking soda if he wants to go through with it

he says yes, and you push the needle through his ear and put the piercing in, pushing the needle out

you put the backing on the right earring

“you good, hon??” you ask, and he responds with “yeah it feels fine, hardly felt anything—“

while he was distracted, you shoved the needle through his left earlobe and heard a loud screech

“owwwwieeeeee!!!!” soda said, of course as a joke

you chuckle and pick up the other piercing, again putting it through the hole the needle made, pushing the needle out

you put the backing on and take your gloves off, brushing his hair out of his face

he looks in the mirror and has a horrified look on his face

your face turns pale and you’re like “oh shit, you don’t like it?? sorry!” and start freaking out

he starts laughing and says he loves the piercings, giving you multiple kisses on your face

the two of you were talking and he naturally complemented your piercings, you thanked him and showed him some you would’ve gotten but felt as if they wouldn’t look good on you

he pointed out one piercing, the helix on the ear

“i’ve always wanted a piercing like that but never had the time to get it, it just looks real nice..” darry mumbled

you told him you could pierce it yourself since you have the money to get the supplies, you just had to go get it

he told you it’s fine and you didn’t have to do it, he could get it done another time since he had to take care of his brothers

“dare, pony’s at school and soda’s at work. this is the perfect time to do anything you want!!” you said

he agreed with you and said you two could go to the store, you needed the supplies to give him a helix

the two of you walked to the front door, out to your car

you started driving to the store, you bought needles, a few piercings that darry chose himself, and sanitary gloves

after paying at the cash register, you walked out with darry, asking him if he’d like to go to your house or his

when the two of you got back to his house, you told him to sit down at the dinner table

you put on your sanitary gloves and grabbed a blue pen, marking darry’s ear for where the helix piercing would be

you showed him your mirror and asked him if the location was fine, and when he confirmed, you wiped off the mark

you grabbed the needle and asked him if he was ready

before he answered, you pushed the needle through his ear so he would be caught off guard and wouldn’t be stressed

he closed his eyes, trying not to focus on the pain

you gently picked up the piercing he wanted and put it on top of the needle, pushing the needle out and the piercing in

you patted his cheek once you took off your gloves, and showed him the mirror once again

he smiled at you, said it looks nice and thanked you

one day you guys were talking and the subject of piercings and tattoos came up

you said someday you want to get a little tattoo of the dates of when you had your pets

he said he might get a tattoo one day but he wanted a piercing, specifically an eyebrow piercing or a nose piercing

you told him you could give him a piercing since he probably wouldn’t pay for a professional one

the two of you go back to your house and go upstairs to your room

you tell him to take off his shoes and go sit on your bed while you grab a needle and two curved barbells from a box on your vanity

“hold on dal, i need to get gloves. need to be at least a little sanitary, right? don’t do anything while im gone.” you say

he responds with a short “take your time, doll, won’t do anything bad..”

you run downstairs and quickly get blue, sanitary gloves and run back upstairs to your room

he says it’s perfect and you wipe it off, remembering exactly where the piercing was

you grab the ball part of the piercing and screw it onto the curved barbell

he lightly touched the new piercing and flinched slightly, telling you it looks amazing and he loves it

he grabs you by the hips, causing you to put down the mirror, and sits you on his lap

so he walked from the drive in to your house and knocked on your door

when you answered, he automatically asked “can you give me a piercing… like earrings? i lost a bet.”

you stared at him for a few seconds before shrugging and saying “sure. i already have the supplies, go sit on the couch, my parents aren’t home.”

he came into your house and sat on the couch, looking around and seeing the walls were well decorated, with pictures of you and your family on stands and tables

you went upstairs to your room, got a needle, earrings and a mirror

after gathering supplies, you walked down the stairs and walked to the pantry to grab surgical gloves

you walked to the living room, two-bit was watching television

you drew dots on his ears and picked up the mirror, asked him if the dots were in a good place

you both are academic BEASTS so you’re somewhat rivals and trying to get to the top of the class

but you’re still together, it’s a healthy relationship

most of the time, you’ll actually walk him home from wherever you are since it’s safe for you to walk home on your own, but since he’s a greaser it’s not safe for him

when you met the gang they taught you how to fight in case some greasers or even some socs tried to fight you

by walking him home, you’ve actually prevented him from getting beat up

you like to take him out to get food or something he wants when he gets a good grade since he gets happy when they’re high

sometimes you’ll get lower grades than him and you two will study together, or reversed

you’ll get him a new book every time he finishes another one, by the end of the year he has a new shelf just filled with books you’ve given him

you occasionally read him to sleep when he’s having a hard time, or again reversed

he falls asleep pretty quickly when you do this and he really appreciates it

you always sit together during assemblies and choose to be each others partner in the classes you have together

if you don’t decide to do track one year you’ll go to his meets, and after you always take him out to eat since you’re proud

if he’s extra tired then he’ll ask to go home so you will

you learned how to cook so he can have big nice meals, along with baking chocolate cake when soda and darry aren’t there to make it

pony thinks you make it better than darry but will never tell him that

he really loves spending time with you and feels like you’re the first person besides johnny to really understand him

you made him think about socs in a different way too, in a good way

yall are just humans doing what you know best, some in different environments and had different parents with different parenting styles

as soon as he told the gang that he was dating someone they were excited for him, then they found out you were a soc

dally told him to break up with you without even knowing you, johnny told him to give you a chance

when johnny invited you to the curtis house to meet his friends, you brought presents for all of them since you wanted to make a good impression

you had your ways about finding what they like and don’t like

they immediately took a liking to you when you gave them presents and a kiss on johnnys cheek

you’d patch him up and give him bandaids to take home after getting beat up by socs or his parents

sometimes you’d give him money and he would use that money to get you something you’ve been wanting for a while

he’s always so thankful for everything you do for him and everything you give him

since your parents don’t really care about the differences between greasers and socs, they let johnny stay over since they know things are rough at home

sometimes they’ll take you and him out for dinner with them and you think it’s so cute

he still doesn’t see the difference but chooses one anyway since he likes to see you happy

he really loves being around you and having you by his side

at the end of the day, you and pony decided to go back to your house to study

you smiled and told him you got a good grade on your test, for the first time in a while

you switched the topic and continued smiling, and pony looked at you with love

he was glad that you were feeling better, and he suspected you’d stay happy for weeks

he’ll ask you about it later but not in the moment, especially if other people are there too

the person on the other end asked, “is darry curtis there? his brother and friend are in the hospital.”

your eyes went wide and you felt happy that the boys were back, but scared as to why they were in the hospital

you put the phone down without answering back, and ran to darry to tell him what had happened

he yelled for soda to come down since they had to go see pony and johnny in the hospital

he immediately went out the door and drove you two to the hospital, and you went to the floor where pony and johnny were

when you saw pony sitting on the chair, you smiled widely

darry was happy to see you feeling good again, but was still worried about why pony and johnny where there

he can get really impatient and frustrated with you at times but tries to stay calm because you can’t control how you act sometimes

most of the time, he knows when you’re struggling and tries to help you

so sometimes he’ll schedule an emergency therapy if you’re in a really bad mental state for whatever reason

he really cares about you but doesn’t always have the time or patience to try and reason with you

when you’re happy and feeling good, he’ll take you out to different places

sometimes it’s a restaurant and sometimes it’s just a little activity for you two to do together

he really likes cooking, so he’ll make food for you and will try new recipes

he’ll ask you to help him out with cooking since he knows you like to be a part of things

when you’re feeling sad, he tries to get you out of that mindset as soon as possible

he’ll still include you in hangouts in hope that you’ll feel better

when you were in your depressive episodes, he would help you shower, eat and go on walks since you hardly had the energy to get up

he would bathe you and buy you meals so you could eat

making you go outside at least every few days, the two of you would go on walks since he wanted you to get fresh air

when you were feeling mad, and you would feel that way for weeks, he would mostly stay away even though it was difficult for him

you were feeling happy and told him that if you were being all pissy at him, he should just not talk to you

you didn’t want to ruin your relationship or say something you didn’t mean, so you don’t him not to interact with you at those times

he still would, though, he would do little check ups on you to see if you were feeling okay, or if you wanted anything

if you were happy, he tried to keep you in that state for as long as he could

he thought you would stay happier if he gave you things, a lot of attention, and was overall with you more

it did work for a bit, until you randomly switched over, but he didn’t understand why
