So I've been studying eternatus' anatomy and realized a few things:
1) the clear walls between the ribs are definitely an elastic membrane, would probably feel a bit like latex to the touch. (Realized this bc the membrane isn't flat like it would be if it was crystalline, it is concave like fabric pulled over a frame). This brings up a question about the membrane connecting its horns. I always thought they were the same.... tissue? substance? But the horn membrane looks more rigid.
2) there are freaking divots in its spine???? How the heck haven't I noticed that before?
3) the way its back spikes line up when it's moving makes me think it used to have a membrane connecting them, a little similar to spinosaurus.
4) the way it moves reminds me of aquatic mammals... now I have the image of eternatus with fins, flippers, and a whale tail...
5) eternatus is far more heavily based off of eastern long dragons than western dragons. This brings the long whip like structures on its shoulders further into question... just what are they?
6) eternatus' back legs actually make slightly more sense knowing that it is an eastern dragon, some traditional art of long dragons have similar hind legs.
7) those strange whip like structures on eternatus' shoulders... I still don't know what they are. When I first saw eternatus I thought that they were wings. But after watching eternatus move in camp I'm not so sure. They don't move like wings would, they act more like tendrils.
Also the way it moves its head makes it look like it's super curious and that's frigging adorable.

There are 11 playable links in the loz, 12 if oracles is actualy his own link, 16 if you count triforce hero's and hyrule legends, and 19 if you count the four swords hero as 4 separate links.
List with games featuring same link grouped:
• Skyward sword
• Minish cap
• Four swords & four swords adventures
• ocarina of time and majora's mask
• twilight princess
• Wind waker & phantom hourglass
• Spirit tracts
• The original loz & the adventure of link
• Link between worlds
• Breath of the wild
• Link to past, oracles, & links awakening
• hyrule legends
• triforce heroes
Explanations of oddities in the counting:
It is possible that the link from oracles is his own hero.
There are 3 heroes in trifoce heros.
The reason why I put triforce heroes and hyrule legends in a separate grouping is due to uncertainty over if they are considered cannon to the loz universe.
-> there is also the hero of 10000 years ago who is mentioned in botw, but has no game.
-> There is also the First Hero from that comic if you want to count him as cannon. (personally I don't. It's not that I don't like him, it's just it conflicts with what I understand the intro to skyward sword is saying.)
So, that would make the current max number of links -if you count all as cannon- to be 21.
Fun note! The four swords link is a lovely example of why the official timeline is worthless. It is more than heavy-handedly implied that it is the same link in the two four swords games.

Considering the people of hyrule's habit of forgetting the hero's name the moment he dies, I find it extremely unlikely that they would mention link by name if it's not the same link. Also considering hyrule's long standing tradition of forgetting about where major big bad evils are sealed, I have very, very, VERY many doubts that they would just happen to have been keeping meticulous track of where a minor wind sorcerer is seald. Need more convincing? So according to the timeline, the minish cap and four swords are right next to each other. By the events of four swords the hero's name from minish cap has been forgotten. Now if the timeline is to be believed, an absurd amount of time and one timeline split later they still remember the story of the four swords perfectly. Yet have no recollection of oot or tp. That doesn't line up. So I'm calling BS on the timeline.
Oh you want more math? Sure thing!
Only counting links that are for sure cannon = 11 links
If oracles is separate link = 12 links
Counting four swords as 4 links = 14 links
FS = 4 links + oracles = 15 link
FS + oracles + hero of 10000 years ago = 16 links
I could go on, but I don't really feel like doing that right now.
Im not joking around. I seriously want to talk about this.
If you have no sweet clue what in arceus' name I'm talking about;

This stuff clearly imbues the food with eternatus' power, and I don't remember anything that can do that except a literal hunk of eternatus' flesh. And you can cook with this in game. It also bears an unsettling resemblance to the red crystalline substance (membrane?) connecting eternatus' horns.
While we are on the topic, what about dynamax candies? They apear to be made of the same substance.
So are we not going to talk about the fact that you can eat what is probably eternatus' flesh?
I made a meme template out of the "Kevin no" vine. Do with it what you will.
