Xander is bonding over mayonnaise sauce

(Otachi poster by Ken Taylor as background) Xander, he/him, rampantly bi(cycling) . Notable for the supposed might of a THOUSAND (1000) lions and a lack of meaningful intelligence. I ramble on about a "couple" of things. This is intended to be broadly SFW, but you are likely to see a few beasts and critters (not recommending if you have phobias). I swear somewhat, though I moderate it a bit. Not hesitant to block if disturbed. Unable to donate. Racists, homophobes, transphobes, pedophiles, warmongers among others DNI.

Results from the Besano Formation #paleostream! The middle Triassic has much to offer!

REPOST, SEE REASON BELOW

With formations like these I think it's extremely difficult to find a balance between diversity and a good composition. So although I COULD add more animal to these paintings I also want them to work on an aesthetic level. Paleoart can be more than science outreach.

Finished Episode 3, my goodness it's hitting. I am overwhelmed by it all. Completely out of words. And I still have another five episodes to go, good grief.

I have to say in general, Heartstopper on Netflix in general is a really beautiful and brilliant series and adaptation. It's an actual gift and I am so happy for it existing. It's honestly just opened up a lot of things I have never stopped to consider. Maybe a bit of a nuisance on my social media yapping, but I'm letting that slide.

ANYWAYS THANK YOU @chronicintrovert !!!!!

A black and white archival photo of Charles Knight sculpting a model Stegosaurus. The animal has large triangular plates on its back and is depicted dragging its tail, a posture that we know now is inaccurate.

Throwback Thursday! This archival image, snapped circa 1899, depicts paleoartist Charles Knight working on a scale model of the dinosaur Stegosaurus. In life, this species could measure 28 ft (8.5 m) long and weigh about 6,000 lbs (2,720 kg). But when this animal was discovered, paleontologists were surprised to find that its skull—and brain—were disproportionately small. In fact, some scientists thought this massive herbivore must have had a "second brain" near its hips that controlled the back half of its body. Turns out, Stegosaurus did manage with just one relatively small brain.

I have a weird thing at hand because I have Heartstopper AND Godzilla Minus One on the brain.

Most likely to watch Heartstopper s3 first, but rewatching Minus One is a pretty big priority too. Both are beautiful, though very different, works of fiction. To add even more chaos I have Frankenstein to read for schoolwork.

Secondary ambition further along the line is to make a size chart of characters, monsters and animals I have found notable this year.

... Which is a pretty mental task because I may need to draw a lot of sillhouettes, especially if prexisting ones are not available. The sizes of some creatures are also really difficult to make sense of without any sort of preexisting info plus inconsistent sizes between shots.

2024 has genuinely been my BEST year when it comes to films and stuff overall, imo. I have found myself becoming a much more analytical and inquisitive viewer and reader overall, and this really helps with deepening my appreciation for works of fiction.

... sorry about yapping, but I get random BS like this.
