I love this
Of all the things I see constantly mentioned about SaneGiyuu, or just in an analysis of Sanemi and Giyuu's relationship, I very rarely see people mention the Masachika/Sabito parallel. And even if it's mentioned, this moment in particular:

Like, yeah, Giyuu is very non-confrontational (best example of this being Giyuu full on knowing Shinobu was pale and yet saying nothing), but I also do like to interpret this as Giyuu understanding exactly what Sanemi felt in that meeting. Believing someone else could become a hashira and getting mad at the idea of them not making it, but instead, you do.
If Giyuu was ever someone to truly get angry and express it loudly, he'd be exactly like Sanemi in that meeting. He gets it more than anyone else. I think this "opposites" relationship they have is neat.
I've seen bakugo being compared to sanemi surprisingly a lot. The reason why it's so surprising is because they're not similar ? The only way I see a similarity is their constant anger.
But their anger stems from different reasons which sets their characters completely apart !!
This is NOT a bakugo vs sanemi u reading the wrong thing if ur looking for that lmao I suck at analysing character fighting styles and how they could compare ( like wth is hax š) I DIGRESS
AND ALSO SPOILERS FOR BOTH MHA AND DEMON SLAYER (?)
sanemi's anger mainly from what we see is a portrayed as a hatred for demons which stemmed from his traumatic past (where he ended up killing his own mother due to her turning into a demon and killing the rest of their family.)
Seems straight forward but it's literally why everytime we see him it's like he has 10 sticks up his ass.
His whole career is based around killing demons so when he sees ppl with the same job slacking and not able to fend for themselves, he most likely thinks that no one is taking it seriously- as if they haven't had bad experiences; that they aren't fortunate to have had survived and are still able to get up protect others. His anger is almost encouraging if you think of it from this perspective.
You can see it as him basically forcing them to get better so they're not a burden to themselves and others in the battlefield (just in a really aggressive, violent, and not necessarily *right* way).
I'm convinced that some of his anger is also stemmed from fear. Obviously as a hashira he has the responsibility of protecting the lower ranks whilst fighting but maybe the training arc really puts into perspective just how many lives are actually at stake which makes him realise *how much* humanity is depending on him as a hashira. I feel like the fear is deeply rooted from his past of not being able to protect those he loves, his family, masachika, etc. So if he can't even look after his close ones, how's he supposed to protect a bunch of random ppl ? Ygwim ?
BAKUGO on the other hand -- >
This guy's anger stemmed from an inferiority complex that was so severe that he put on a facade to make himself seem so much bigger than he actually felt.
I think midoriya could always see this, which was why he never held him at Gun Point for an apology for the literal torment he put him through.
We can also see a small glimpse of his constant self-criticism during the fight against midoriya after all might's fight with afo, when he blames himself for all might's downfall.
This is key because it shows that he doesn't just direct his anger at others but clearly at himself, too. Using this, you could probably make the judgement that when he lashes out at his friends, he probably regrets it straight after. *especially* after his character development, where he acknowledges that he always felt inferior to midoriya and decided to bully him to make himself feel bigger.
Old habits die so hard, so he probably struggled to be less aggressive towards everyone around him.
The difference between sanemi and bakugo is that:
Sanemi is confident in himself but not so confident in others and their strength which is why he pushes them *so* hard. His training is definitely the most brutal out of all the hashiras'
You can argue its gyomei but his training hasn't given slayers black eyes and swollen knuckles. Tanjiro is exhibit A if you want an example. I DIGRESS (again)
Whilst bakugo is not confident in himself, which to, what I believe, is the reason for his aggressive attitude towards others.
BASICALLY the way I see it is that sanemis aggression isn't necessarily presented to show him putting other characters down unlike bakugo who's entrance was literally as a bully who told midoriya to kill himself setting in stone that his anger resulted in others feeling inferior to him.
I really like both characters - sanemi more tbh so if u think I missed anything out pls point it out š¤
No srsly tho there's a difference between just SHARING your opinion and FORCING your opinion on others !!
It's okay to have headcanons of characters and to view dynamics differently (which is one of the reasons rarepairs exist). And it's also okay to have discussions about said ships and rarepairs it's called having an open mind and realising that others just don't see or favour characters the same as you !!
HOWEVER when you start telling ppl to 'kys' over an honestly harmless opinion that's when the problems start. The whole thing where you insult or belittle ppl who have different interpretations over relationships is pretty childish imo. THE RELATIONSHIPS DONT EVEN CHANGE THE PLOT WHAT ARE U EVEN MAD ABT āļø Some of the fandom are acting like we cant have opinions and imaginationš
The worst part is that this doesn't just apply to the demon slayer fandom it just happens to be one of the best exhibits for this behaviour š
Can we talk abt how dumb ppl in the kny fandoms are acting rn? Likw why r u so pissed about the rareships when thereās proshippers everywhere? Like girl we should be talking bout them!
These toxic shippers (sry to say mainly shinogiyuu and sanegiyuu) are fr the reason why the fandom is so divided. Can we just chill out and let ppl have their own harmless opinions?? š

What is I said after the first Agni Kai the healers tell Iroh Zuko's not gonna make it. What if Iroh drops everything and takes Zuko to the North Pole where he begs for help from the waterbenders because his boy, his son, is gonna die. What if Chief Arnook sees the same desperation he had when Yue was born dead in Iroh's eyes. What if after Zuko gets help from the Northern Water Tribe he stays because it's safer. What if Iroh had to go back to the Fire Nation and Zuko stayed back. What if Yue and Zuko became friends. What if Zuko from the Northern Water Tribe. What then, huh? What are you gonna do about it.
Hot take to some ppl but I genuinely think giyu and sanemi have more potential than giyu and shinobu.
I would say I'm not comparing ships and blah blah blah but if I simmer it down I quite literally am so bear with me š
1. Wind and water : this combo wombo gets me everytime, two natural elements ? SIGN ME UPPPP
Storms, hurricanes, whirlpools, like wind and water are just meant to be. And when you compare that to water and insects it doesn't really click as well, no hate to giyushino shippers ofc, it just feels like there's a lack of chemistry (literally) compared to wind and water.
2. The dynamics: we all know giyu cares for shinobu and shinobu cares for giyu but I feel like it's more of a sibling dynamic if anything. Shinobu constantly annoying and bothering giyu whilst he just tolerates it because he likes the company shouts siblings to me.
And we see this kind of treatment by giyu in other relationships, too, like him and tanjiro, e.g., an entire episode is dedicated to tanjiro bothering giyu until he starts talking. Tanjiros nagging is very, very similar to shinobu, and if you can confidently say that tanjiro and giyu are sibling coded, then you can't *really* confidently say giyu doesn't see shinobu in a similar way. Right ?
ON THE OTHER HAND, sanemi and giyu have this relationship based on a misunderstanding (that I believe if it did not happen they would get along more than obanai and sanemi) not only that but giyu also actively wants to be his friend which isn't stated the same for shinobu. You could argue that she and giyu are already friends, but if they were, I'm sure he would be much more open around her. He literally *smiled* at the thought of giving sanemi his favourite food when there's actually no scene of giyu smiling around shinobu. You can't tell me that he isn't way too eager to become his no. 1 hater's best friend (or boyfriend).
3. THE OBSESSION GOES BOTH WAYS this post may make it seem like giyu is pining after an aloof and mysterious sanemi, but NO.
Sanemis weird obsession with giyu and his attitude exceeds iguros. You can see it when giyu tries to leave the hashira meeting early, and both iguro and sanemi have a problem with this, but only sanemi gets up to stop him physically. NOT ONLY THAT but when they have their little spar and tanjiro interrupts them he accuses him of spying on them. Like there's nothing secret about a sparring session unless there was something deeper going on at the same time... (we know what u are).
And don't even get me started on that official art that was posted the other day like their breathing techniques literally make a heart. And it was sanemi not shinobu š.
If you stuck with this rant until the end thank yeur and ur welcome to ask questions š«¶
Episode 7 deleted scenes š
The conversation between Tanjiro and Giyuu.

What do you mean that's not what happened????š
KNY fellas, especially KNY shippers: how do we feel about Masachika x Kanae? because I feel insane about them /pos and I'm NOT going to shut up about this bc I saw too few shippers and I want to change thatšš»
now I don't really want to rant [yet] about the specific reasons why I think MasaKana(e) is the superior Kanae ship, but! I'm going to rant about why it's growing on me ^^
since it's a rarepair, obviously my first criteria is their dynamic: naĆÆve sunshine x naĆÆve sunshine. hear me out. I genuinely fail to understand why it was never a well-known rarepair?? one is an overly sweet and optimistic girl, who goes that far to wish to befriend demons; the other is a silly little guy, overly optimistic and caring, who daydreams about getting married someday. their personalities match so well?? they seem like they'd have similar goals and vibes, plus Kanae *did* address him as "-kun" and knew that Masachika cared about Sanemi, which means they must've interacted off screen (Kanae must've interacted with lots of her patients including Sanemi and Masachika, but I feel like she had more meaningful conversations with Masachika rather than with Sanemi's grumpy/detached ass, which led her only to worry bc that's in her nature; either way, she sympathizes with Masachika for sure).
in brief, I feel like they would relate to each other better than anyone else, and they would get along really really well...I won't be yapping further for now, we never saw them interact directly so all I will be able to share from now on will probably be headcanons š§š»āāļø
on a side note, I have no idea which ship name shall be usedšš MasaKana, MasaKanae, MasachiNae, KanaChika as an alternative...idk
#KnYfansAreFucking Stupid
Sooooooo I saw this on Pinterest

I know some things aren't that deep but I got a really icky, classist and low-key abelist vibe from this Whisper. It's like the poster is mocking him in a sense, then I looked at the comments..

Of course there's the regular bullshit

Apparently watching someone's ashes fly away makes you colorblind. Fascinating.
Then there's this gem

every day we stray further and further from God's light.
Unhinged glaze
Sanemi is HIM
I really love it when Sanemi haters not only make him out to be some monster but also try to downplay his demon-slaying abilities.
First off, do you see how fast he's killing these demons?

He slices them to shreds before they even have time to react! The only slayers who have shown this type of speed are Zenitsu and Tengen.
Look at how he took out all these motherfuckers at once with just one swing!

Just look at this!!!

Haters also like to say that Muichiro blitzed both he and Obanai, I'm sorry did we watch the same anime? He literally dodged Muichiro katana throw point blank! This is awakened Muichiro mind you!

And he did it by doing this Neo-how-low-can-you-go move, pulling himself up with just the power of his abs! Core strength goes crazy yo!

During his 'training' with Giyuu he dodged not one, not two but THREE of Giyuu's attacks MID-AIR!!!!

He was also the ONLY one to notice Nakime's paparazzi!

Like dude! Not only did he know something was there, he was able to judge the size, the speed and the trajectory! All of this within a split second! Even the haters have to admit, this scene was cold as fuck!!!
So please you can hate on Sanemi all you want but don't downplay his abilities or try to minimize his awesomeness.
This queen ain't no scrub! šš¼

Zuko has lightning scars
But not just on his chest. Everytime he redirects lightning the current going through his fingers, down his arms, across his body and out through his other hand is so great that it leaves nerve damage on the tips of his fingers, where the the lightning enters his body.
And with this nerve damage comes small thin and long scars that run down his fingers and along his forearms before they begin to fade. I just think it's a really cool character design, especially with the colour of his lightning scars ( the one on his chest would look like a starburst of white instead of the reddish hue after it heals properly) and that scar on his chest also spans out to a larger area.
Everytime he redirects lightning bc azula is cray cray the tips of his fingers become a harsh red temporarily and steam rolls off of his body as he cools down. His hair becomes frazzled from the amount of electricity he's holding.
There's so much more character design potential with zuko. I love it when I see artists draw zuko with more scars other than the ones his face and chest.
Nothing irks me more than when ppl drop spoilers for ABSOLUTELY NO REASON
LIKE WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT IN THE COMMENTS OF A CUTE EDIT OF THE CHARACTER
Even as a manga reader I feel like I've been spoiled šš like just whyyyyyyyy omy gosh I've literally tweaked like 10 times over this
Like is it an urge ??? Is it a guilty pleasure ??? Like imagine you were watching an edit of ur favourite character and u go to the comments to see if ppl love them as much as you do and you just see :
" yeah he's so cute but then what abt when he's brutally murdered by [insert antagonist] omy gosh my heartttt ššššš"
LIKE NO MY DAY ? RUINED.
HEART ? SHATTERED.
SOUL ? CRUSHED.
One of my faaaav things to do in fic is pair up characters that donāt get a lot of screentime together OR that feel like opposites and try to find some common ground between them. Most recently I did this with Sanemi and Shinobu because I could go on and on and on about their shared anger issues in completely different directions. How sanemi probably knew her before Kanaeās death and maybe even misses the hotheaded sarcastic girl she used to be, maybe misses their bickering and squabbles because now she keeps it all so close to her chest and puts on a smile . Anyways
This becomes a problem when I can no longer identify who is in possession of the brain cell.
Sanemi is trying to juggle his newfound crush on Giyuu with his hatred for Giyuuās surrogate brother (Tanjiro) and his complicated feelings about Genya. Genya is too busy trying to get Sanemi to notice him/talk to him to notice that Tanjiro has an extremely obvious crush on HIM. Tanjiro is trying to support Genya in his attempt to win Sanemi over while also actively not respecting Sanemi at ALL, and poor Giyuu is trying to set a good ābrothersā example by being protective of Tanjiro and trying to give Tanjiro advice on what to do about his crush on Genya, while ALSO juggling his OWN crush on Sanemi.
So whoS FLYING THE FUCKING PLANE
Crackfic Idea:
30-year-old Zuko gets randomly flung back in time to his 16-year-old self. For a couple of hours at a time. At the most random times imaginable. Imagine the potential.
Zuko assumes that it's a dream or a vision, but definitely not real. He tries not to freak everybody out too badly, but he's also fully enjoying himself and seeing all of his friends as their young selves.
ZUKO, as he and Aang circle each other at the South Pole: I've spent years preparing for this encounter. Training, meditating. You're just a [Spirit Shwoop Sound] ... baby Aang!
AANG, confused: Well, more like preteen Aang. How do you know my name?
ZUKO, looking around: Wait, where are we?
AANG: Um... this is the-
SOKKA: Don't answer him! He's trying to get information out of you. You can't give away our location!
KATARA: Sokka, he's standing in the middle of our village. I think he knows.
ZUKO: We're here? This is so weird. I was just here for the Annual Penguin Race.
AANG: THERE'S AN ANNUAL PENGUIN RACE?!
ZUKO: Well, yeah, it was your idea... you gave a whole speech about cross-cultural cooperation and friendship, but I know you just wanted to go penguin sledding with a bunch of people...
AANG: Well, I-
SOKKA: Stop giving him more information! He already knows about the penguins!
Everybody else is confused, bewildered and even befuddled except for Iroh, who assumes that it's Spirit Shenanigansā¢ļø and just fully accepts that his nephew likes tea and hugs and Pai Sho sometimes while being his usual shouty surly traumaball self at others.
ZUKO, stepping into the cabin: Hi, Uncle. I brought you some ginseng. How about a game of Pai Sho?
IROH, tearing up a little: I would love that, my nephew.
ZUKO: I wish we could do this more often, but you live so far away...
IROH, mentally calculating that he lives exactly three doors away from Zuko, and nodding sagely: The rat-viper may never climb the mountain that a hog-monkey can, but the monkey does not know what lies underneath it.
ZUKO, sighing sadly: I know, Uncle. I do appreciate my position in life, even if it has disadvantages.
IROH: Hmm. Your move, nephew.
The crew of Zuko's ship is terrified by the fact that whenever it happens, Zuko is somehow even more hyper-competent, seems to be weirdly calm about everything, and most unnervingly of all, he's polite.
SOLDIER: Here is a report on the best teahouses within three days travel of our current location, Sir. And, uh, Commander Zhao sent a messenger hawk.
ZUKO: Excellent. Thank you very much, Sergeant. I think we can ignore whatever Zhao has to say. In reply, I want you to send him a list of the most famous officers in Fire Nation history, and point out that none of them had sideburns. I want to see if he shaves them.
SOLDIER, sweating nervously: O-of course, Sir.
As a matter of fact, the whole fic could just be Zuko trolling Zhao. It would be glorious.
Sanegiyuu Makes So Much Sense!!
I absolutely adore the ship of Sanemi and Giyuu and it never fails to confuse me when people say they don't understand why people ship them or when people say it makes no sense, especially when compared to other ships. I understand it's one thing to personally not ship Sanegiyuu because obviously it's just not for everyone and other people prefer other ships, but I definitely feel like I can confidently say that the ship makes a ton of sense from a character perspective.Ā

Firstly, Sanemi and Giyuu have this mutual interest in each other that just isn't displayed when Giyuu or Sanemi interact with the other Hashiras or just others in general. While Sanemi loves to say that he hates Giyuuās attitude he could just as easily just ignore him and leave him alone since he ādislikes him so muchā. But clearly Sanemi has some sort of interest with Giyuu as seen when he gets so worked up when Giyuu tries to leave the Hashira meeting after it was over in comparison to the other Hashiras who albeit showed care for Giyuuās abandonment, they all remained seated except for Sanemi who tried to physically force Giyuu to stay. If Sanemi really did dislike Giyuuās presence he wouldn't have cared if Giyuu left or stayed but the fact that he wanted him to stay shows he does care about him even if it was negative at first. Then there was their whole sparing scene in which Sanemi apparently stormed to Giyuus house to try to talk to him or at least get some kind of reaction out of him which clearly shows Sanemiās abnormal obsession with Giyuu whether it be his actions or trying to understand him. Then when Tanjiro 'interruptedā the two fighting Sanemi seemed to gain a new layer of protectiveness that he clearly didn't have while fighting when he noticed Tanjiroās presence. While Sanemi seemed unrestrained and free while fighting Giyuu with an onslaught of loose movements and confident attacks as if his spar with Giyuu was a form of stress relief for him, when seeing Tanjiro and realizing his spar with Giyuu was being perceived by another he immediately put his borders back up. Sanemi immediately came to the conclusion that Tanjiro was spying on them as if their spar was a private moment between two close companions. Sanemi already seemed to get defensive when Tanjiro arrived but when Tanjiro revealed Sanemi enjoyance of frivolous things such as ohagi and green tea and Sanemiās persona as some kind of extreme tough guy who didn't care for things such as sweets was broken obviously Sanemi started to get irritated. What's interesting about this scene though is that it isn't until Giyuu comments on Sanemiās affection for ohagi does Sanemi crash out and punch the lights out of Tanjiro. It's just so obvious that Sanemi was embarrassed that Giyuu could think he's soft which just provided another example of Sanemi caring what Giyuu thinks of him when he clearly does not care when it comes to others. It's just too funny how much Sanemi cares about Giyuu to the point where the scene right before THE ENTIRE INFINITY CASTLE ARC AND THE DEATH OF SO MANY CHARACTERS he is literally just storming off and steaming at the thought of āwhat would have happened if Tanjiro didn't interruptā.

Itās even more hilarious that Giyuu, the character that is literally known for being antisocial and having no friends, just wants to be Sanemiās friend. Giyuu has Tanjiro and Shinobu and definitely a few others who are trying or have tried desperately to befriend him with absolutely no reaction but apparently Giyuu decides that he wants to befriend the unapproachable guy with anger issues who says he dislikes him. I'm sorry but that is such homosexual activity I don't even know how else to put it. Like Sanemi literally barged into Giyuuās house, fought him, knocked his little brother out, and stormed off without a word, and all Giyuu can think of afterward is how happy he is to know Sanemiās favorite food and is already coming up with a sad plan to win him over. This dude is really smiling and all thinking of his perfect future interaction with Sanemi with floating flowers in his little fantasy. I also just love the idea that he uses Tanjiro as his little wingman to help come up with ideas to win Sanemi over that all probably fail miserably just like the ohagi.Ā

Sanemi and Giyuu have been set up from the beginning and you can see the future of their relationship from the fact that Giyuuās voice was enough to distract Sanemi enough to get hit by Tanjiro who was a much lower rank than himself in the scene of Nezukoās trial. The characters have been set up as parallel characters throughout the series in so many ways it's hard to not spot the special relationship between them that isn't there between other characters. Their character design and personalities are already foil with Sanemiās white hair and impulsive and explosive personality compared to Giyuuās black hair and calm and collected personality. There is Sanemiās ability to speak his mind at all times and Giyuuās inability to speak his mind at times at all. There is Sanemiās main emotion and expression being one of anger with Giyuuās being sadness. Another big foil being Giyuuās compassion and trust towards Tanjiro and Nezuko and their situation while acting as an advocate for them while Sanemi had clear mistrust towards them and their situation acting as their biggest opponent during Nezukoās trial. Finally, there is the fact that Giyuuās fighting style is one that revolves around ultimate defense while Sanemi is one that focuses on the ultimate attack. Just by noticing their opposites you can tell the importance of their relationship, but this continues throughout the series in which they are the ONLY two hashiras to survive which was definitely done for a reason. Their relationship is also displayed during their clash to turn their blades red showing their status as equals. The fact that they are the two last Hashiras ties them together even more seeing as after the war they both kind of don't have anyone to lean on besides themselves with the Kamaboko squad all living together and the Uzuiās having each other, Sanemi and Giyuu donāt have some big family to stay with, so they hang out with each other as seen in the panel why their having lunch together.

Out of every non canon ship I truly think thank Sanemi and Giyuu have the most developed and well written relationship down to basic characterization to where these two seem like they were really made together as a pair. Even though they arenāt canonically romantic, their relationship is written better than some actual cannon ships and I think some people should look more into the smaller details when it comes to this ship!

Nobody actually realises how much I love this duo

Sanemi and iguro are the kamado sibling no.1 haters.
It's so funny to me bc they've proven themselves to be good so many times and get along with other hashira, but they just refuse to get along with them lmao
Minor kny spoilers (?) And rant
I'll never get over how well the character deaths are written in kny. Like you get introduced to this colourful and very characteristic individual, you grow attached to them, you learn their backstory and you just think that the character will see the end of the story. That's what you think.
NO, gotouge just kills them off but in the most heartbreaking and soul crushing way, and it never fails to make me feel sad.
Kny is just full of tragedies that take place for the greater good with a bittersweet ending. A lot of people hate on kny saying that the plot isn't interesting and it's only saved by the animation. How does that explain the manga being one of the best-selling manga globally then, huh?
But I like how there's a pure evil villain, not a sad, misunderstood character with a complex background(not hating on those plots). Simplicity is nice sometimes.
I have so much more to say but I'm not writing allat
todoroki touya is my roman empire
Maybe the whole todoroki family in general
I love it when I see a fanfic where the author clearly states and MAKES sure the readers know that sanemi is colourblind JUST so they can then, in turn, point out the colour of giyuu's eyes. It's like we know they're blue, but to sanemi, they have to be mesmerising for the type of descriptions authors write for giyuu's eyes
