The Israel/Palestine conflict isn't from now, the occidental Powers have history of making arbitrary decisions over territories that don't belong to them, Israel and Palestine where one of these decisions. The Palestine territory used to be so much bigger but the Israeli territory expansion interested the UN more than Palestine's proper territory, that division caused lots of issues not only to Palestine but also to other Islamic countries in the middle east.
