A Map Of Days - Tumblr Posts
I THOUGHT YA'LL WERE JOKING OMG😭😭
there’s mpreg in mphfpc?? Is this a joke?? I’ve read all the books and idk what you’re talking about- ???
No 😭 in the fourth book (A Map of Days) on page 7 it’s mentioned (sadly), I’ll put the page here:

As said above: “spontaneous pregnancy?” “It’s only happened once, that we know of. The subject was male.”
So yeah, mpreg is canon in mphfpc lore.

Horatio appeared twice in A Map of Days and Conference of the Birds /don’t remember exactly, this two fused together in my head/and literally starring in last ten chapters of The Desolations of Devil's Acre.
He has more context in his few chapters of presence than anyone else has in six books!
His contradictory feelings for H, the decision to protect the children by prioritizing their lives over his own even though he doesn't have to actually. The consequences are for adults [yeah, Jacob?], so Horatio loses his arm while saving kids. None of other characters were injured equally.
[i remember that Fiona lost her tongue but she still can speak somehow]
Horatio is responsible and has a strong sense of duty. He's also the only person in the damn series who speaks straight without being inappropriately mysterious. Jacob needed it. I needed it.
Horatio is stoic, strong and golden-hearted mentor figure im not sure about father figure i see him more like teacher / mentor
/// i already posted about this alternate ending so please check this out!
I also like Sharon. And I'm upset that nothing is known about him at the end of tdoda...
Another one thing I want to specify:
Horatio's appearance
We have this picture in book and i like it BUT he was described in the text as blond so—

He looks so young my poor little meow meow;;
— so I immediately associated him with Nanami Kento from Jujutsu Kaisen anime
Nanami-san is sharing same character features [stoic, strong and golden-hearted mentor figure]. He's calm and responsible. ALSO! he’s wearing glasses completely covering his eyes almost all the time.

Stylish... handsome man...

All right, all right, I'll stop simping! Just one more thing! His way of speaking sounds a little mechanical, so the voiceover suits Horatio, too
And lastly, the wise words of a wise man.
You've fased several life-or-death situations. But that does not make you an adult.

Millard & Lilly

“The body is young, but the soul . . .”
“I know exactly what you mean,” she said.
-A Map of Days
We jumped out of the train at the next stop, hardly even looking to see where we were, and climbed the steps out of the subway station. Lilly held on to Millard’s arm...
My first MPHFPC fanart! Of course I had to draw our sweet Lilly and my boy Millard. This scene made me scream in jealousy and adoration and I'm very attached to their relationship. If you have any art requests, just ask or message me!
My favorite Millard and Lilly moments:
“I can do this on my own, but it’s safer if you help me,” she said, and we all knew that you meant Millard.
“My dear, why didn’t you say something?” Millard said. “I wanted to see if you’d admit it.” Lilly smiled. “I’m glad you did.”
“How is Lilly?” Millard asked, a little sigh of longing escaping him.
“If anything happened to her, I couldn’t live with it.” “Nor I,” said Millard. “Miss Peregrine, I would like to personally dedicate myself to her protection.”
“Fellows,” he announced, “I think I’m in love.”
Horace Somnusson: A Gourmand’s Fantasyland

“It’s everything,” he muttered. “It’s everything.”
“Look at this!” he said, turning to an old man who happened to be pushing a cart nearby. “Look at it!” The old man hurried away.
“Horace, you’re scaring people,” I said, drawing him close. “It’s only cheese.”
“Only cheese!” he said.
“Okay, it’s a lot of cheese.”
“It’s the pinnacle of human achievement,” he declared seriously. “I thought Britain was an empire. But this—this—is world domination!”
-A Map of Days, Ransom Riggs
I finally get to draw one of my favorite Horace moments. Thank you friends for the support and inspiration!
Keep feeling the feeelsssss don't mind the spoilers, Hugh's reminders and worries cut deep to the bones, and that is precious
I just started Map of days. And I think I'm gonna cry already! They were forgetting about fiona! Hugh had to REMIND THEM. About their missing friend! (I got spoiled on how shes alive) ah! I dont k ow how to feel!
Hi! I don't think he can.
Ransom Riggs answered in an IG story a question about Millard's appearance and he said "i don't think he even remembers anymore". Which implies that he couldn't see himself.
Millard shared his story about how he became invisible in the book Hollow City. He said his feet disappeared first and it scared him, which I believe means that he couldn't see his own feet that time, therefore he couldn't see any part of his body now that he's fully invisible.
I also got confuzzled about this topic in A Map of Days because he said he was svelte. But I think that only means he believes he has a good appearance (which i don't doubt), and he can't actually see himself.
SO! I. Have a question. About mphfpc. Specificaly about Millard. Can he see himself? Cuz that the main sourse of someone's depth perception. Being able to see how close you are to an object. Like I dont know! And its been keeping me awake!
