the thing about li siyue is that sometimes she's so wrapped up in whatever so-called controversies like did her latest w.eibo post just shade someone in a very subtle way or was she seen hanging out with the hottest male actor in town now that sometimes people just forget or overlook how insanely talented she is? for example:

has joined three survival programs throughout her career since pre-debut and each time she's in top three with self arranged songs and performances

wrote and performed multiple osts for several dramas, and even earned herself some small cameo roles in a few. also got suspiciously close with one of the male leads there but shhh nothing is ever made public and official by her ;)

took part in writing and composing at least half of the songs her group has ever released, and she's known for her song covers that usually are done with a twist, like switching that t.iktok pop song into 国风 (traditional chinese) vibes with her pipa etc

dancing wasn't her strong suit, but never has she made a mistake on stage and even if she did, no one actually notices it until she points it out

has been on 春晚 (spring festival gala) two times, and is aiming for her third in the coming new year. both of those times she were performing another 国风 performance with her mother and fellow traditional musicians, which resulted in her becoming the talk of the town for quite a while.

had also been to coac.hella and went viral

knows guitar, piano, guzheng, pipa, and some more that she picks up every now and then for fun by following online tutorials. she often posts covers of her with guzheng and pipa especially, and people love those to death especially when it reaches international audience.

also writes a bunch of hit songs under the alias 林见月 (linyue), but only a very trusted few would know

and with all that, it's already enough to make her one of the top female idols in the industry but it's never enough for her if she's not consistently the best in the room so she just keeps seeking attention and tries whatever she could so she always remains the one people will think of?

- li siyue is studying in 上海.戏剧学院 - 表演（戏曲音乐表演-民族器乐）or to be short, the shanghai thea.tre a.cademy, majoring in performance in opera music instruments (folks music) aka she's focusing on pipa (bc her fc plays pipa and i just can't let that go to waste) which is so interesting for me to explore bc girlie writes pop music but she's studying folk music instruments pls

- xia zhiyun is studying in the same university as li yao which is the cen.tral academy of china (中央.戏剧学院 - 表演系＆导演系), double majoring in acting and directing

having brainrot thinking about li siyue lately and how i hc-ed that she would compose and perform songs for dramas/films and so on, so here's one that i absolutely love and it fits her bc 1. lots of traditional music elements here 2. poetry 3. she would absolutely have a cameo while performing this in the drama too and another hc is that she would receive casting calls from directors and producers bc she just fits the idea of those female leads in historical dramas that know how to play musical instruments and she is pretty good at acting, she just doesn't do it often and plus li yao acts so?? not gonna risk the possibility of being compared.

the funny thing is that she once had one (1) cameo role in his drama that she got by chance bc she couldn't reject the director and she wanted to mess with li yao. (it was one of her most iconic side lead/cameo roles bc the character died a very tragic death) li yao was visibly annoyed tho bc they had one (1) scene together and it took way too many takes to get the perfect one. and it was also bc of that that people were criticising him more for his 'attitude' problem?

anyway the only times he thinks she's barely tolerable is when she performs with a pipa/guzheng, and that's it 😭😭

it's actually not that difficult to see why li siyue doesn't get along with li yao bc a huge part of it is because of jealousy. he's several years older than her, and she had already been living in boarding school since middle school to focus on music and her studies, so imagine you're 13, you come home one day and suddenly there's this random teenager appearing from nowhere calling the man who barely spares you a glance 'father' too and he tries to be friendly with you but you can see your mother is not pleased at all, so you decide he's not one to be trusted. and one year later he's suddenly this popular viral actor already despite the young age and you're still trying to hide from your parents that you have been spending more time on the guitar and piano rather than the pipa and guzheng that they're sure would be the best fit for you. when he comes home with a best new actor award, your father is so delighted that he throws a whole feast for family and friends. when he brings home the best actor award, he gets a pat on the back and said award is still displayed on the top row on the wall of glass shelves filled with trophies and certificates.

when she makes her own debut several years later, she never did get the same treatment because "idol music is not real music, you're a shame and disgrace". and no matter how many more achievements she makes after, it's never quite enough.

as for li yao, he doesn't get along with her because he's tried getting close to her when they were young, but she shut him out so quick and it just hit a little hard for a teenager thrown into a strange but rich family with the head of the family there telling you to call him father, his wife despising you and not even bothering to hide it, and the pretty and young daughter who's supposed to be at an age of innocence not even giving you a chance. and as an adult now, he just doesn't think it's necessary to try and aim for a better relationship with her, because if annoying him is the only way she would interact with him, then so be it. at least she's the only one in the family now who doesn't try to act nice to him like how their father and her mother are doing now due to his status and popularity.

for the c ent muses, there's almost none of them who is having a good holiday somehow but we vibing with it

shu anruo is back to her hometown and family home, while she misses her mother's cooking, being back home and surrounded by relatives and friends is also doing things to her mental health? girlie wishes she could be sick or dead or busy tbh, at least her eleven year old cousins that she used to find annoying are asking her which celebrity she's worked with is the most handsome, and not asking her if she earns enough to support herself in the first tier cities or if she plans on moving back or pick up her career again as if her work right now is unspeakable. would purposely eat the wrong flavor of mooncake that she's allergic to just so she could lie sick in bed for two days tbh.

li siyue doesn't really oppose to the idea of family gatherings; it's a chance for her to brag about herself one way or another. this year, she's been requested personally by her parents (what an unusual thing!) to perform at one of the private, invitation-only 京圈 vips exclusive gala along with them. this would be a great opportunity, however word got out to fans and netizens that her performance(s) would be unseen and unheard of, and that has angered them quite a bit, for obvious reasons. hence, this zhongqiu is lowkey bittersweet for her, but at least people are talking about her performance(s) through secretly blurry videos and her parents may or may not be mildly satisfied, and no one has noticed that she hasn't properly slept in a week, so that's good enough for her. (also this gotta be a plot someone give me some rich kid x hot celebrity pairing pls let me make her life worse)

lu mengran is probably the only one who hasn't suffered as much, even though she is working and probably has always been so whenever she's not filming. going home is simply not an option, but her younger brother moran did have a brief phone call with her and that's enough for her, she's not looking to talking to anyone else in the family just yet. luckily, this time she's doing her favorite job ever (second favorite to be exact, her first is always acting) which is those dancers/performers-like job at amusement parks like d.isneyland. she's determined to make sure everyone could be in a good mood, so she makes sure to always smile whenever she meets eyes with someone, even when she's tired. but hey, she gets to interact with her comfort cartoon characters too, it's really not that bad. a few fans may recognize her, and if they come and say hi to her, they'll definitely not only leave with photos, but also exclusive stickers and vouchers for the restaurants and gift shops. now, isn't she a true kind princess on this wonderful day?

i was typing up siyue's name for something earlier and the auto suggestion gave me 李思月 (also pronounced li siyue) instead and it got me thinking about how that was originally the characters of her name before she went ahead and changed it on her own to 李肆月. the previous one would mean 'li thinks/misses (about) yue' in this context and this is entirely because siyue's mother's thing is that she absolutely adores the moon (yue) and it's kinda the symbol (?) people associate with her, and also since li yao's real name 李旭尧 had a sun in it so when siyue was born, she named her 思月 as in she wants that man to think about their daughter instead of li yao. and the reason behind this is that li yao's mother was siyue's father's best friend and first love, both of them went waaay back before siyue's mother came into the picture and they literally only got married because she got pregnant with siyue that time. so in a way, for her the kids are and should just be competition to each other, like how she and li yao's mother would be even though that woman was dead, so the entire sun vs moon thing here. and then as siyue grew older, she just changed it to 肆 (si) because she just thought her name was pathetic considering how her father almost never spared her mother a glance, not unless he absolutely had to. and the character 肆 as in 肆意 (si yi) means willful, reckless here, which is how she aspires her life to be in general, and not under the influence or control of everyone.

she also has a pseudonym 林见月 (lin jianyue) and it isn't super deep, just that it sounds nice to her and also 见 means 'to see' and 月 means 'moon' obviously, and while 林 is a family surname, it also means 'forest, woods' and thus putting everything together it would literally mean: to see the moon in woods or how she would put it in this context: the moon as the only thing you see in the woods. this just fits in so nicely with her character as how she's nothing but absolutely obsessed with being the center of attention no matter where she goes. not to mention if you ask her, she would also insist that if you look up at the night sky, it's always the moon that you look for first.

as i've mentioned before, she also has a reincarnation verse right, and chu qing 楚清 is one of her past lives. and i think she also went by 林见月 at some point bc i gotta say that name is also kinda poetic sounding, and she is obviously always in some sort of trouble hence a new name is needed, and so here comes 林见月. but honestly this is just a little easter egg?? kinda thing that i put it to humor myself in a little reincarnation verse.

that said, if anyone calls her 清儿 (qing-er) tenderly she would cry bc that's how her mother used to call her. but she also refers to herself as 清儿 when she speaks to others, kinda green tea vibes but well ;/

another thing that no one really knows about li siyue and also one of the things that could easily bring her career down is that one of her exes went to jail and she used to promise to wait for him, only to ghost him completely lmao and it was a very messy, toxic but romantic relationship because the chemistry they had was like nothing else but of course he got himself into jail and of course the only thing she will never do is wait so. for what it's worth, the relationship was prob just a year or so. anyway he hates her for leaving him hanging and she still thinks he's hot but that's it. she may or may not hate him for hating her though.
