how the yan siblings would spend zhongqiu (mid-autumn festival) is also lowkey sad to me because at this point they have probably spent longer being separated than together ??

- yan wei would probably just head to whatever restaurant that's still opened and orders himself the cheapest thing there because boy doesn't really have much money and he just wants some homecooked stuff even though he couldn't really taste things that well anymore. would get a bit emotional seeing ppl bringing their children out for a walk bc it makes him remember how their father would spend time teaching them how to make lanterns on their own and both him and his sister would go around the neighborhood asking the other children and their families on which lantern they think is better colored/decorated. it's been years since he could go home for zhongqiu but he still lights a little candle at some random roadside every year. and then he's off to the shadows listening (and dozing off) to whatever ghost that wants to tell him stories on how they used to spend time during zhongqiu.

- if yan yan is not working she would probably just spend the entire day and evening at the hospital with her mother. she doesn't like complaining about it, but it sure is exhausting sometimes taking care of her mother who could barely recognize her at times. and when visiting hours at the hospital ends, she will head to the nearest bakery that's still open and get whatever leftover mooncake there is and does she eat it? nah she will burn it for her dead older brother.

for the c ent muses, there's almost none of them who is having a good holiday somehow but we vibing with it

shu anruo is back to her hometown and family home, while she misses her mother's cooking, being back home and surrounded by relatives and friends is also doing things to her mental health? girlie wishes she could be sick or dead or busy tbh, at least her eleven year old cousins that she used to find annoying are asking her which celebrity she's worked with is the most handsome, and not asking her if she earns enough to support herself in the first tier cities or if she plans on moving back or pick up her career again as if her work right now is unspeakable. would purposely eat the wrong flavor of mooncake that she's allergic to just so she could lie sick in bed for two days tbh.

li siyue doesn't really oppose to the idea of family gatherings; it's a chance for her to brag about herself one way or another. this year, she's been requested personally by her parents (what an unusual thing!) to perform at one of the private, invitation-only 京圈 vips exclusive gala along with them. this would be a great opportunity, however word got out to fans and netizens that her performance(s) would be unseen and unheard of, and that has angered them quite a bit, for obvious reasons. hence, this zhongqiu is lowkey bittersweet for her, but at least people are talking about her performance(s) through secretly blurry videos and her parents may or may not be mildly satisfied, and no one has noticed that she hasn't properly slept in a week, so that's good enough for her. (also this gotta be a plot someone give me some rich kid x hot celebrity pairing pls let me make her life worse)

lu mengran is probably the only one who hasn't suffered as much, even though she is working and probably has always been so whenever she's not filming. going home is simply not an option, but her younger brother moran did have a brief phone call with her and that's enough for her, she's not looking to talking to anyone else in the family just yet. luckily, this time she's doing her favorite job ever (second favorite to be exact, her first is always acting) which is those dancers/performers-like job at amusement parks like d.isneyland. she's determined to make sure everyone could be in a good mood, so she makes sure to always smile whenever she meets eyes with someone, even when she's tired. but hey, she gets to interact with her comfort cartoon characters too, it's really not that bad. a few fans may recognize her, and if they come and say hi to her, they'll definitely not only leave with photos, but also exclusive stickers and vouchers for the restaurants and gift shops. now, isn't she a true kind princess on this wonderful day?
