Nice!!!!!
If Lex and Slade had a song I feel like it would be bad romance or Look What You Made Me Do very enemies to lovers but toxic and in a workplace environment
What about you What do you think their song would be also I can't decide on a ship name it's hard if we combine Lex and Slade it's lade if that make sense lol
I just call them Slex but that's just me lol.
And I've never really done couple songs but for them I feel like it would be less poppy and a little heavier, not by much tho. so I would have to say probably Fire Up the Night by New Medicine. Don't know why that one fits for them for me lol.
I hope your finals go well! I know the pain...
And if you're still looking for more prompts, what about a giant child Tommy finding a tiny Phil?
Thank you! Finals went well, my last one was yesterday!! Sorry this took a hot minute but I hope you enjoy <3

------ Of Giants and Avian Hybrids -------
Phil hadnât meant to wander so far off the path. In fact, heâd been on his way to meet Techno for lunch.
But when heâd heard what sounded like a child crying, his paternal instincts led him directly toward the soundâs source, shivering a bit in the chilled air, wings puffing up. He came to the entrance of a large cave, hearing the sound of soft whines and teeth chattering.
âHello?â Phil called into the cave, taking a hesitant step into the darkness. He blinked several times, trying to get his eyes to acclimate to the lack of lighting. âIs anyone there?â
A flash of pale movement in the cave startled Phil back a few steps, but he froze again at the sound of a loud sniffle. He reclaimed the steps as he paced forward slowly. âYou alright, mate?â
And suddenly, there was the flash of pale movement again, this time feeling something large brush against him and then retreat. A moment later, there was a weight around his middle and he was in the air.
Phil let out a startled yelp, struggling instinctively trying to pry away whatever was on him. His brain slowly caught up and he froze as his eyes followed the object around him until it met an arm, and then a chest, and then finally a face.
He was in a fucking hand.
The giant holding him was young, maybe 13 based on his looks. But the dirt and grime in his hair and on his face honestly made him look older so he may actually be closer to 10 or 11. Philâs heart softened in pity, wondering where the childâs family was.
It was replaced by fear pooling in his stomach as the giant reached out and pinched his wing, stiffening completely. The fingers werenât necessarily rough, but they werenât gentle either. They pulled a bit until his wing was stretched to its full length at an odd angle.
âBird?â The voice rang out, echoing oddly in the cave.
The childâs blue eyes were wide in wonder, curiously running a fingertip over Philâs feathers. He repressed a shudder at the feeling. The child shifted his hold on Phil, pinching his waist uncomfortably between a thumb and his forefinger. He cried out in pain as a fingernail dug a bit harshly into his side.
And then he was shifted, a bit quickly, to be sprawled on his back in a palm. His wings were out, flat against the childâs palm. He shakily sat up, mind and emotions whirring in overdrive. His wings flapped on instinct, brain telling him to run, to get the fuck out of there.
But his heart told him otherwise as he looked up at the kid. He recalled why heâd ventured out here in the first place as he noted how the boyâs eyes watered, looking glossy. He was just a kid.
âI-I didnât mean to, Iâm sorry.â The boy sniffled and Phil melted, quick to reassure and placate him.
âItâs alright, mate! No need to cry, Iâm fine, see?â Phil offered lab small smile as he stretched his wings out, heart somehow melting further at the awed gasp he received when the child observed the ombre-like effect his wings created as they got darker toward the bottom. He smiled encouragingly as the kid gave a small smile back. âSee? There we go, whatâs your name, mate?â
âTommy.â Phil shifted slightly, body buzzing with uncertainty. But he knew that he wasnât leaving here without making sure the kid was okay. âSorry I scared you...â
âNo, no, mate, I was just a bit surprised, thatâs all.â He reassured, body slowly coming down from its adrenaline high. âIâm Philza Minecraft, but you can just call me Phil.â A moment of silence stretched before he dared to ask, âWhy were you crying, Tommy?â
âWilby said that he was going to get food, but heâs been gone for a few hours.â Tommy grumbled, wiping at his eyes with his free hand. âItâs probably nothing, and Iâm being a little bitch, but I donât want to lose him, I guess.â
Philâs heart shattered a bit and he shook his head with a soft smile. âItâs okay to be worried, Tommy. Whoâs Wilby?â
And they talked for a while, Phil learning a lot about the kid. He was 11, Wilby was actually Wilbur and was Tommyâs older brother. Phil had made the mental decision to adopt both of them, and he belatedly remembered that he had had plans with Techno.
That was okay though. The piglin hybrid would certainly understand.

------Bad Day------
Tommy had lived with Wilbur for a while now. He was a borrower, and it took him a while to get used to the human and his mannerisms. When they'd first met, Tommy had been anxious and had immediately set to getting away from the human.
However, when it turned out that Wilbur meant him no harm and seemed so genuinely distressed about causing Tommy to be afraid, Tommy took a chance. He got to know the human, even getting to the point where he was comfortable enough to be his loud, obnoxious self (which he hadn't been in a long time).
He'd once offhandedly called him Wilby, and Wilbur had almost started crying on the spot. When Tommy had gone to apologize, Wilbur had just laughed softly with a smile, shaking his head fondly before moving on immediately.
And the best part was that Tommy hadn't been afraid again, and Wilbur had been patient and understanding, never pushing against Tommy's boundaries.
Today was different.
Wilbur had been distant today, and had answered shortly when Tommy had passed him in the kitchen when the human had gotten home. He'd just gone to his room and closed the door.
Tommy smirked to himself. He must have forgotten that Tommy literally had tunnels in the walls to everywhere (basically) in the house. He set off to getting to the room, figuring he'd show up and spend some time with Wilbur.
He walked through the narrow, stuffy tunnels, humming slightly to himself as he went. By the time he got to Wilbur's room, behind his desk, he nodded to himself as he pulled out his hook from his bag. He hadn't used it recently; usually, Wilbur would carry him, since he'd gotten so lax around the human.
But still, he wanted to get to the top and see what was up with Wilbur. Maybe he could surprise him, make his face light up in that was it always did when he saw Tommy, with that soft smile and fond eyes.
So Tommy climbed, just trying to get to the top, and he panted when he got to the top, hands on his knees. He expected a snarky comment from Wilbur about it, but when he glanced up, the human wasn't even looking at him. Instead, he was staring at his phone almost blankly.
"Hey Will."
The human in question jumped, as if shocked out of whatever trance he was in. It wasn't long before his eyes landed on Tommy and just stared for a moment. "Toms?"
"Big man, I think I'm out of shape." He exaggerated his panting a bit, placing a hand on his chest. "I might be-"
"Tommy..." He sounded a bit annoyed, but Tommy wasn't the best at reading social cues, so he continued on.
"Seriously big man, I might be the worst borrower in existence. You should've seen me when I was in my prime. A sad day for the Tommy Innit community, truly." Tommy barked out a laugh, a wide smile on his face.
"Listen, Tommy," Wilbur sounded tired, "I really want some time alone today, okay?"
"You can't get rid of me that easily." Tommy grinned, still oblivious and taking it as teasing. Wilbur had never asked to be away from him before, so that must be it, right? Wilbur went to speak again, but Tommy kept going. "I'm serious, man, you're going to have to try a bit harder if you're going to get rid of Big Man Innit."
"TOMMY!" A frustrated sigh left Wilbur as he ran a hand down his face, and Tommy flinched away, hands instinctively going to his ears as they rang a bit from the noise. "Not now, okay?"
Then he looked down at the kid, and his heart shattered at what he saw. Tommy was curled into himself and trembling, hand slowly coming away from his ears with wide eyes. He reached forward instinctually, wrenching his hand away when Tommy flinched away from it. Guilt wormed its way into his chest and stuck there.
"Tommy..."
"No, uh, m-message received, big man." His voice shook as he stumbled a few steps back toward the edge of the desk. He scrambled back as Wilbur's hand gently blocked his path and turned around, throat feeling tight.
"Wait, stay." Wilbur leaned a bit closer, moving his hand back to himself almost sheepishly. "Please?" Tommy just gave a small nod, and he kept glancing at Wilbur's hand. For a moment, Wilbur worried that he was scared of it, but it seemed to be almost longing, and suddenly it clicked. He somehow softened further as he looked at the boy on his desk. "Aw, come here Toms."
And just like that, Tommy scrambled into his waiting palms, and Wilbur brought the bot to his chest, hushing him softly as the boy sniffled a bit. He ran his finger tip along the boy's spine, feeling him shudder as he shushed him gently.
"I'm sorry, Toms. I shouldn't have shouted." He ruffled the boy's hair a bit as he huffed out a small sigh. "It's been a rough day, so I've been a bit stressed. That's not an excuse," he added quickly, not wanting to seem like he was justifying anything, "but I just wanted to explain a bit."
A few moments passed as he stood, feeling the borrower's hands ball into his shirt. Tommy was so loud and had been so cocky and confident recently that Wilbur forgot that he was just a kid, even if Tommy got annoyed every time he called him a child. A kid who had told Wilbur how much it took to trust him because he could flip at any second and do whatever he wanted.
Wilbur would never do that, but he just hoped that Tommy would remember that after this.
He walked steadily toward the kitchen, shifting Tommy into one hand as he began to make hot chocolate. It seemed to always calm the boy down any other time and he hoped it would do the same. He hummed along the tune of Mellohi, which Tommy had overheard when he'd played Minecraft and latched onto for some reason.
Before long, he'd finished the hot chocolate and poured it into a small cup for Tommy. The boy had stopped sniffling occasionally, simply leaning his head against Wilbur's chest.
"Toms?" Wilbur whispered, keeping his voice low. "Want some hot chocolate?"
Silence met him and he glanced down, heart warming at the sight.
There, snuggled into his shirt, was Tommy, fast asleep. He ran his thumb along the boy's side, watching with a faint smile on his face as the borrower leaned into it.
Something relaxed in Wilbur at the sight. Tommy still felt safe enough to fall asleep with him, and that was such a comforting at the implication.
He smiled. They'd get through this and be fine, and Wilbur would do his best to never raise his voice around the kid again.

------My Little Boy------
Tubbo and Ranboo reached the edge of one of the many crimson forests in the Nether, sighing in relief as they spotted a portal up ahead.
"Hell yeah! It's too hot for this, Boo"
"I know, Bo." Ranboo gave his platonic husband a smile and placed a hand on his shoulder. "But we've got all the blaze rods and everything else we needed. We shouldn't have to come back for a while."
Tubbo hummed in response and they began to walk toward the portal, the purple glow casting an odd coloring on the surrounding area. They stepped in, feeling the magic of the portal as they were transported back home.
They walked into their house, Tubbo heading ahead of Ranboo to organize the things they'd gathered.
"I'll go check on Michael while you do that, then." Ranboo gave Tubbo a small smile and walked up a flight of stairs, navigating their home and coming to stop by his son's door. He knocked on it softly. "Michael? We're home!"
All he heard from the other side of the door was the sound of a soft crying, and Ranboo felt his pearl shift as he felt himself teleport directly into the room, looking around as his paternal instincts screamed at him to help.
The problem was, he couldn't see his son.
Panic gripped his chest. Where was his son?!?
And then he turned, and he saw a small figure on his son's desk. It took longer than he'd like to admit to realize the following: the figure was alive, the figure was his son, his son looked terrified.
Ranboo stepped forward numbly, though he stopped in his tracks as his son scrambled away from him. His son was scared. His son was scared of him.
It twisted something unpleasantly in his chest, but he slowly walked forward, hands out placatingly. He knelt in front of the desk to be more eye-level with the tiny zombified piglin.
"Hey, Michael." He gave the kid as gentle a smile as he could manage and tried to ignore how his child cowered away from him with a sniffle. âWhat happened, bud?â
And then his son was stammering and, although the words were rushed and stumbling and didnât make much sense, Ranboo gathered that âthe green manâ had done this, or had at least had something to do with this. He felt the anger bubbling in his stomach, yet he kept a gentle smile as he coaxed the little boy into his hands.
âLetâs go see Papa, okay? Weâll figure out how to fix this, I promise.â His heart softened and twisted simultaneously as he saw Michael prepare himself to step onto his hands. âThatâs it,â he gave an encouraging smile, âyouâre very brave.â
His little boy gave him a big smile at that, and fully shifted into Ranbooâs hands. Ranboo could feel his son trembling as he straightened himself, standing carefully and murmuring reassurances to his son, his little MIchael.Â
Fury churned in his gut as he slowly carried his boy downstairs to his husband. He paused outside of the storage room. He looked down at his trembling son and held him close to his chest, shushing him gently at the panicked noises.
âAre you ready to see Papa?â The little boy gave a shaky nod, though he was obviously nervous and still (quite understandably) afraid of everything around him. âWe can wait if you need to.â
âNo.â The piglin shook his head, looking determined as he looked up at the Enderman hybrid. âWanna see Papa...â
âYouâre being so brave,â Ranboo murmured to his pride and joy, âI love you.â
âLove you, Dad.â
And Ranboo gave another reassuring smile before knocking on the door, his husband answering and looking to Michael with wide eyes.
Oh yeah, thereâd be hell to pay.

------No Matter What------
âCome on, Karl!â Quackity was giving the brunet an exaggerated pout, huffing as he pulled on his fiancĂ© lightly. âYou never stay with me and Sap for longer than, like.. I think eight hours was your record.â
âIâm sorry, Quackity, I just..â He hesitated some, pulling gently away from him as he felt his body beginning to fight against this form. âI really need to go, okay?â
âCome on, Karl!â That was Sapnap now, giving the biggest smirk as he wrapped his arms around Karl from behind him. âJust ten more minutes? Please?â
They were in a field, having a picnic. There was only the dessert left now, just small fruit tarts that Niki had made for them this morning.Â
âFine,â Karl sighed, chest feeling light as his fiancĂ©s cheered, âbut only because I like you.â
He pretended to glower at them, though he dissolved into giggles as they laughed. He really loved the humans, and heâd accepted their proposals with enthusiam.
He just worried how theyâd feel when they saw how he usually was.
His thoughts were interrupted by a hissing sound, and Karl zoned back in with wide eye on a creeper set to explode behind his beloved fiancés. Time seemed to slow and he shouted a warning before everything around him shifted.
His human size slipped between his fingers like water and he curled his body over Quackity and Sapnap, shielding them and smacking away the creeper with a hand. It exploded in the air a short distance from his hand, the giant flinchingÂ
Adrenaline pumped through him and he could feel himself shaking from the nerves. He let out a shaky sigh, leaning back and sitting on his knees, planting the balls of his feet behind him and uncovering his fiancés.
He looked down at the two with a relieved smile. They were okay, But that smile slipped as what heâd done caught up to him, and he saw the look on their faces.
They looked terrified, and they stumbled away from him. They got out of his shadow, squinting as the sun finally reached their eyes directly.
He moved before thinking about it, blocking their path with both hands. And then he took in how they screamed, and how they looked at him like he was some kind of monster.
And it hurt.
âLet us go!â That was Sapnap, pulling Quackity closer to himself protectively.Â
âFine! Leave! See if I care!â Karl withdrew his hands quickly, blinking away the moisture that was gathering in his eyes. He pulled all of his limbs close to himself, hugging his knees to his chest and resting his chin on them.
âWh-Who... What are you?â That was Sapnap again, and he sounded... well, scared, upset... pissed even. âWhat did you do to Karl?â
âI..â Karl frowned slightly, feeling overwhelmingly confused and largely out of place. âYou think.. Iâm, uh,â a short laugh, humorless, left him, âI am Karl.â
Silence answered him. The two humans seemed to converse quietly before Sapnap sounded panicked and shook his head slightly. Karl fought the urge to lean in and listen, heart twisting with something akin to jealously, oddly enough. Sapnap tried to pull Quackity back as he walked closer to Karl, who slowly lifted his head as he eyed his fiancé.
âKarl?â Quackityâs eyes searched the brunetâs face, as if making sure that every detail was as it was supposed to be. That this was truly his beloved Karl. âItâs really you?â
At his nod, Sapnap crept slowly closer as well, looking up at him through the black hair hanging in front of his eyes. Both of them seemed to be jittery, but seeing their fiancé looking upset like this tugged at their heart, size be damned.
âYouâre... youâre not running.â Karl observed, moving slowly and shifting to sit with his legs crossed as he leaned forward. His fiancĂ©s, for their credit, didnât move away more than a few steps. âUm, surprise?â He tried, though that barely got him a snort before he was fiddling with his hands anxiously. âThis is, uh... a lot, huh?â
âThatâs one way to put it.â Sapnap chuckled, and it wasnât a forced sound, nor mocking, to Karlâs relief.
âFor sure,â Quackity agreed with a smirk before looking up to Karl, âis this why youâve never stuck around for a long time, then?â
Karl felt his face warm slightly, and he smiled, all kindness and love and soft edges. âI figured I might freak you guys out. I was going to tell you at some point, I swear, itâs just... Well, you know how you reacted when you first saw me like this.â A saddened chuckle left him, one that was forced and clearly trying to lighten the mood despite how much their fear had cut into him. âIâm not that scary, am I?â
âNo!â Both of his fiancĂ©s were quick to try to comfort him. It was sweet, that even though they were obviously nervous around him, they wanted to assure him that everything was okay.
âBut,â Karl winced, âyou wanted to get away from me. And Iâm not mad!â He assured them of that quickly, not wanting them to think that. âAnd I would never ever hurt either one of you. I love you both so much.â He worried his bottom lip between his teeth, glancing down at his beloved fiancĂ©s. âBut I.. um, itâs okay if you donât want to be together anymore, I understand.â
âKarl,â Quackity was talking lowly, deliberately as he worked through whatever hw was trying to say in his head, âwe both love you. Just because youâre a little bigger doesnât change that.â Then, almost as an afterthought, though an affectionate one, he added, âNimrod.â
âYeah, honestly we were both worried that youâd found another man, or something.â Sapnap gave him a big smile, full of warmth and love that looked so strange from how Karl was seeing it now. âBut Quackityâs right; we obviously still love you and we can work through.. whatever this is. Can you explain?â
Karl let out a happy little noise he couldnât quite place and nodded, scooping up his fiancĂ©s in cupped hands and bringing them a bit closer to his face. He didnât feel how theyâd flinched, startled at the quick movement, just observing them and marveling at how small his humans were.
And then he was rambling about something, and walking toward his own home that was at the edge of the SMP. He talked about how this was his natural size, and it had always been, but drinking a potion--the recipe of which heâd stumbled on on a late night adventure--made him human sized.
And that was how heâd originally met his beloved fiancĂ©s, mesmerized by the human civilization he found himself in. But heâd discovered that he could only hold that human form for so long before his body started to fight against it to return to its natural state.
But as he rambled on and on, he glanced down at his boys, and his heart softened. They looked.. comfortable in his hands.Â
A warm, protective feeling settled over his heart, and he silently vowed that heâd keep them safe.
No matter what.

------Yes Sir------
To be completely honest, this was not Alex Quackity's brightest moment. He'd thought that he'd just hide out in this building until the storm outside was over, and he'd be fine.
He was wrong. The ram hybrid found him, and they were currently staring at each other, frozen and unmoving.
Not that Quackity could really go anywhere anyway. He was cornered.
Like, literally, he was on the floor in the corner of the room, his exit effective blocked by the hybrid. There was no way he'd be able to get behind the nearby bookshelf, the giant being would be too fast.
That didn't mean that he didn't try, though.
But the moment he tried to move that way, the hybrid had crossed the room and crouched in front of the tiny duck hybrid, eyeing him with a smirk. The movement combined with that intense gaze made Quackity scramble back, flinching harshly as his back met the wall.
"You're - uh - you're..." The ram hybrid seemed to be processing what he was seeing, and his brain seemed to buffer for a moment before he added a simple obvious, "small."
Nervous, impulsive laughter bubbled out of Quackity. "Yeah, no shit. I almost forgot." His heart was pounding, and his attempt at covering his nerves with.. whatever that just was was a failure. His voice quavered, his body wracked with intense shaking.
If anything, the human only looked more amuse now, his smirk growing even wider and more predatory. Something unsettling settled over Quackity at the gaze, his feathers ruffling up instinctively.
"You just keep getting better and better." The hybrid was speaking, but it sounded oddly like a threat.
And then there was a hand that shot out and wrapped around him before he could even think about moving. He yelped and squirmed, trying to push at the fingers wrapped tightly around him.
He felt sick as he was moved without his will, wind whipping past him. He felt dizzy and he was lifted and carried over to the hybrid's desk. The movement halted, and Quackity looked up at the face above him, which seemed to be considering something.
"Don't move." The voice reverberated oddly through his body, and Quackity honestly wasn't thinking much as he was shifted again.
As soon as his feet hit solid ground, his body was moving, stumbling and trying to bolt away from the threat. He didn't make it far, a shriek escaping him as that tight grip was around him again, yanking him back into the air. And right in front of the massive stubbled face.
"I said," the hybrid tsked, "don't. Move." He opened a drawer, rummaging around for a moment before he paused, looking back to the tiny being in his grip. "And I know you can understand me, which means that you're just being a little shit." His voice was dangerously even, and Quackity pushed as the grip around him with trembling arms, wings flapping uselessly behind him. That predatory gaze locked on his wings, smirk terrifyingly cold. "If you don't behave for me, I might just have to..."
He trailed off, and Quackity's heart thrummed quickly against his rib cage. He threw desperate hits at the thick skin around him, face wet with tears, though he could tell that his struggles meant absolutely nothing. But he fell absolutely still as those disgusting fingers pinched his wings, wide eyes shooting up to cold, dark ones.
The ram hybrid said nothing, just raising a brow, but Quackity got the message loud and clear.
"I-I'll be good. I'm sorry." His voice was thick and it shook, but the grip on his precious wings stayed.
"Mmmmm. I think I'm going to need a bit more from you." Quackity shuddered as those fingers rubbed uncomfortably against his feathers. "I need you to not talk back, try to run, and maybe a few other things down the line. Or," the rubbing stopped, and Quackity gasped as the pressure increased a bit. "you'll have to learn your lesson. Understood?"
"Yes!"
"Yes?" The ram hybrid tilted his head, curves horns glinting as lightning flashed in the distance. "Yes, what?"
"Yes, sir." And even though it sounded forced (mostly because it was) it seemed to satisfy him enough because the grip on his wings let up, and Quackity slumped a bit with relief.
"Schlatt?" A voice called from beyond the locked door, making both of their eye snap over to it. "We have policies to discuss. The meeting is in a few minutes, remember?"
"I'll be there!" Quackity flinched at the shout that his captor gave in return. The footsteps faded as the person walked away. "And you... Hm," he rummaged through his drawer again before pulling out a jar and struggling for a moment to remove the lid, "in you go then, hm?"
And then Quackity was dumped unceremoniously into the glass prison. His body ached from the rough grip and he winced. Yeah, that's going to leave some bruises alright.
The door clicked closed as his Schlatt left, and Quackity flinched at the loud sound it created. Quackity curled into himself, crying softly and hoping that this wouldn't be his forever.

-----There Will Come a Day-----
âOh, Theseus!â Shivers shot down his spine and he pressed himself against the back of the cage fearfully as the human entered the room. The name was given to him for trying to be a hero, but in the end, heâd just been caught himself. The smile the human gave the borrower was sickening and it felt paralyzing. âI had a really awful day at work, and I need to destress.â The cage door squeaked open and fingers reached forward and wrapped around his middle. âYou donât mind, do you?â
Tommy shook his head, though he knew it wasnât really a question. Heâd learned a long time ago that his opinion didnât matter, and that struggling only made everything worse. But that was okay.
After all, he was Dreamâs.Â
He was the property of the blond who liked to wear that stupid smiley mask and squeeze him a bit too tightly. Of the human who had been kind enough to give him food and shelter. Heâd been told several times that he was lucky to be Dreamâs.Â
There could have been a worse human that found him, heâd been told. That another human might have killed him and not have graciously befriended the borrower and kept him safe. Maybe, at the beginning, Tommy might have disagreed and fought, but now, after several months at least, heâd lost his fight and will to get away.
The fingers around him shifted and fidgeted with his limbs, though they didnât do much to the wings stuffed under his shirt. Fingers rolled his arm absently as the human crossed the room to sit at his desk, tapping away with his other hand on the computer. The fingers around him squeezed every now and then, mostly bearable.Â
But one squeeze was particularly tight and it forced the air out of Tommyâs fragile lungs. A sound came with it, and his body instinctively pushed at the tight grip around him.Â
He realized his mistake a moment later as the clacking of keys stopped and he froze, feeling himself be moved and set down on the desk. The human clicked his tongue in disappointment.
âTheseus..â dissatisfaction dripped from the humanâs lips, and he was scowling, Tommy could see it from the way the human/s lips quirked downward.Â
âI-Iâm sorry, Dream,â the boy stuttered out, trying not to choke on his fear, âI, um, I didnât mean to! The grip was just a bit too tight and I--â
A sharp, disbelieving laugh left the human. Tommy flinched. âI had a bad day. I told you that already, didnât I?â Tommy didnât respond, didnât think thatâs what Dream actually wanted.
He was wrong. A fist slammed down on the desk inches from Tommy, shaking the surface horribly and making Tommy fall. He stared up at the human with wide eyes filled with fear.
âI asked you a question, Theseus.â The humanâs teeth were visible, clenched and Tommy shuddered. âWhen I ask a question, you answer, got it?â Tommy gave a series of rapid, frantic nods, arms curled close to his chest in panic. âGood.â
The human gave a sigh and leaned back, the anger from before still buzzing around Tommy, though the human seemed more relaxed. Tommy trembled with adrenaline, his nerves shot.
âNow, like I was saying. I had a bad day, and I told you that when I rescued you from your cage today, didnât I?âÂ
âY-Yes, sir.â It took everything in Tommy to not flinch as a finger reached forward and gave him a rough pat of approval on his head. He hated that he craved the validation and warmth that was evident in Dreamâs smile that appeared.
âGood boy!â He praised, scooping Tommy into his palms, the latter remaining motionless. âBut I do think itâs kind of selfish of you to make this about you, donât you?â
Dread pooled in his stomach and he swallowed fearfully. âYes, sir.â
âIâm glad you agree, though I think you still need to be punished...â The human trailed off, pinching one of Tommyâs arms between his fingers. Tommyâs breath hitched. âBut maybe you could change my mind?â
Tommy immediately fell into an incoherent babble of apologies and pleading. Saying he was so sorry and that heâd do better. Pleading for his tormentor friend not to hurt him. A part of him deep down knew that it did no good, but maybe it would lessen the punishment.Â
âNot good enough, Theseus,â Dream tsked.
Tommy didnât have time to register the words before the human pulled and a blinding pain filled him. He was screaming, he realized, but couldnât bring himself to stop.
âTheseus?â
Tommy tried to quiet himself and only succeeded slightly.Â
âTommy!â
Tommy jolted awake in a dark room, the cold of his cage under him. He could see a silhouette that was barely outlined by the moonlight behind it. He scrambled back as a hand reached in, a panicked chirp leaving him.Â
He pressed his hands against his mouth, trying to muffle his whimpers as the human paused. Then it was reaching for him, and it gently scooped him out and brought him closer to the human before Tommy registered, shouting in fear.
âDream, please!â He cried, body wracking with trembles as he curled close to himself, cradling his injured arm to his chest. âI didnât mean to, please, just, please!âÂ
âHey,â A voice was saying, deep and monotonous, âhey, kid. Youâre okay, no oneâs gonna hurt you here.â A finger brushed up and down his arm.
That didnât make sense. Even when Dream soothed him after he was punished, he wasnât this gentle. Dream always said it in a patronizing way. This person sounded... genuine.
His breath sounded loud in his ears and he made a hesitant, daring move to look up at the human.Â
Now that his eyes had adjusted more, he could see the long, pale pink hair of the human in the moonlight. No smiling mask. A concerned expression, that he could see.Â
âTechnoblade...?â He winced at how rough and quiet his voice came out. He sounded pathetic.
âHey, kid. Thatâs right.â The vague praise and warmth in the voice sent pleasant shivers down his spine. âYou back with me?â
Tommy nodded, then remembered himself with another wince. âYes, sir.â
âJust Techno is fine,â the voice reminded him gently, yet Tommy still stiffened a bit, âyouâre okay, kid.â
Tommy bit back the urge to tell the human that he wasnât a kid, that he was a big man, but instead he simply nodded. Techno resumed the motion from before, trying to further soothe Tommy as he gently rubbed his arm.Â
Moments of silence stretched, and Techno broke it first.
âSo, uh, before... you were makinâ like, bird sounds.â Techno didnât notice how Tommy had stiffened. âAre you... an avian hybrid, by chance?â
âNo!â Tommy blurted, the wings beneath his shirt flaring and giving him away.
âKid, I can see your wings under there.â Tommy choked on a sob as he flinched away from the finger, pressing his forehead to the leathery skin of the hand he was on. He tried to show his apology in his very posture. âKid..?â
âIâm so sorry! Iâm so sorry, Technoblade!â Tommy trembled, keeping his head down despite the uncomfortable warmth. A panicked trill rose in his throat and he just barely suppressed it. âPlease, sir, do what you want with anything but the wings, anything but the wings, please!â
It was hard to focus, and he had to strain to hear the gentle murmuring hums of the human holding him. Calming him down. Being patient. and kind, and too good for the likes of him.
âShhh, hey, hey,â the gentle touch was back, this time just barely brushing over his wings through his thin shirt, almost hesitantly, âyou deserve love. You didnât deserve what Dream did to you. And Iâm never, ever going to hurt you. I didnât mean to scare you, I just asked because Phil is also one. Youâre safe here, Tommy.âÂ
âBut, I, I lied. And Iâm annoying, so...â
âTommy.â The voice was firm now, and Tommy tensed. âLook at me.â
And he did. He looked up slowly, and saw how intently Technoblade was looking at him in the darkness, the dim light of the moon. He swallowed thickly.
âNo one is ever going to hurt you again.â Techno told him with the most serious, earnest expression that Tommy had seen so far. âHow many times do I need to tell you before you believe it?â
Tommy winced, opening his mouth to apologize, but Techno just shook his head slightly. And Tommy finally started to understand, a spark of his old self reigniting within him. Techno gave him a small smile in the moonlight, following up his previous question.
âBecause Iâll remind you and prove it to you as many times as I need to.â

--------Caught in the Rain--------
Karl had always made it a point to at least find shelter, shabby as it may be, during a storm. Storms were dangerous when you were on your own, after all. He really wished that he had followed that advice, but instead here he was, trying desperately to stay alive.
The storm had hit unexpectedly, so he wasnât entirely to blame, but he really wished that he had prepared for this a bit better. He usually moved from place to place, never taking up residence for more than a couple of months. He told himself that it was safer that way. After all, it lessened the chance of a human finding him if he wasnât there long enough to arouse suspicion. But heâd chosen a bad time to relocate, apparently, because now he was struggling against the current of roadside water, traveling toward a gutter.
Icy fear gripped him as the water sloshed and hit him square in the face, going up his nose and in his mouth. Sputtering and coughing, trying desperately to take in a deep enough breath before it happened again, Karl kicked his legs. It wasnât much use. Even where his little legs managed to reach the bottom, the current was too strong for him to stay stationary.
He was at the mercy of what most humans wouldnât even consider being anything more than a minor annoyance.
Karl was knocked back out of his thoughts as a rather large drop of rain fell and hit him on the head with enough force to push him under the water for a moment. His neck hurt as he surfaced again, coughing and scrabbling for purchase against the concrete nearby. A hiss of pain escaped him as the wall dug into the flesh of his palm, slicing it open and drawing blood. It was dark outside, so he couldnât see much, but he managed to see an outline in the distance, a silhouette.
Of a human walking down the sidewalk adjacent to his current predicament.
No, no, no, no, no, Karl kicked desperately, hoping he could at least hide from the human. His body was exhausted, running mostly on adrenaline and fear. But it was enough to at least grip onto the top of the grainy pavement, arms straining as they managed to find purchase on the rough material. His hand stung, and he grimaced, trying to get a look at it in the darkness. A distant flash of lightning illuminated the cut, blood running and blending with the water that still occupied his hand. It also illuminated the human, who was looking straight at him.
Karlâs eyes widened as he locked eyes with a human with fluffy hair pushed back in a beanie. Dread pooled in his stomach as he quickly fought against the petrification that the human induced. If he stayed here, the human would get him for sure. But if he let goâŠhe shook his head slightly to clear the thought, hopelessly stuck as the human drew closer with an awed gaze. Karl didnât have to end up making a decision, it turned out, because as the human crouched near him, a particularly powerful gust of wind managed to make him lose his grip. A sharp gasp was ripped from him as the current took him again, forcing him under and making his body spin in the water. His head slammed against something in the water and his vision went dark.
He came to just a moment later, shivering and noticing a distinct lack of water surrounding him. A sinking feeling registered as he felt whatever he was on shift and lift him higher. A whimper left his mouth as he struggled to move, his body not quite cooperating in his dazed state.
âShit! Holy shit, are you okay?â The booming voice made Karl cringe and he tried futilely to protect his head, his body complaining from the movement. âOkay, shit, uh... Sap will know what to do. Heâs better at this kind of thing. You know, he rescued a duck once,â the human was walking now, seeming to ramble more than really address Karl, âbut I guess that doesnât really matter, huh? Sorry, this is really stressful, and... Hey! Stay awake for me for a bit, okay? I think you hit your head pretty hard there.â Karl gasped as something large brushed over his hair, bringing his attention to the aching feeling there. He weakly tried to push at the offending digit, but it moved away before he managed to get there. His heart pounded. What did the human want with him? Why was he taking him anywhere, to begin with?
God, he felt so tired. Shouldnât he sleep? But, hadnât the human said not to? Why? A few minutes wonât hurt, he thought as his eyes slipped shut. He jolted a moment later at a slam and a sudden change in temperature. It was warmer here, in the humanâs house. Maybe Karl should have been screaming at the thought, but he couldnât bring it upon himself to care quite that much.
Frantic words were exchanged above him before he was transferred into another humanâs hands with more gentleness than Karl could have ever imagined possible. They were noticeably warmer, and Karl wanted so badly to just get some rest. He shied away from the human as light was shined into his eyes, cringing with a whine. But they must have decided something because the light was moved away with an air of relief.
His eyes began to slip closed, but he jolted again at the reminder that he was with humans. He sat up slowly, warily watching the humans. Another shiver wracked him, and perhaps it was his mind playing tricks on him, but the hands seemed to warm more, soothing Karl and taking the chill from his bones. The one holding him seemed to notice how much effort it was taking to stay conscious, because his gaze softened, and a small smile appeared on his face.
âWeâre not going to hurt you. Youâre okay.â A noise of garbled, scared protest left Karlâs lips as he was gently pushed into a position to lay down. The human shushed him, not unkindly, the warmth of the hands relaxing and welcoming, beckoning him toward unconsciousness. âWe just need to take care of your injuries there, okay?â
Karl looked up at the concerned face above him with tired eyes, the exhaustion from being awake for so long coupled with the exertion from nearly drowning making him shudder weakly. He gave a slight nod in response, watching the humanâs response carefully. Not much changed, but there was a flickering of awe and understanding there as the human slowly curled a thumb over his middle. Karl winced, shoulders tense. But nothing happened. The human just began to move slowly toward the counter, using his free hand to grab something before placing it on the counter, Karl soon following.
The hand was placed on the towel, tilting slightly to deposit Karl on the plush surface. The tiny looked up, shrinking back slightly at how the human now loomed over him. He was reminded once again about how powerless he was. He didnât have the energy to run, and the human seemed to be trying to help him, at least. He just had to hope that heâd be okay and that this wouldnât kill him.
He felt a stinging pain in his palm, pulling away quickly and jolting out of his inner turmoil with a hiss. Karlâs gaze shot up to the humanâs with wide, scared eyes, then to a white stick with soaked cotton on the end. A Q-Tip, his mind supplied, as if that mattered. His gaze shot back to the human and his forehead scrunched in confusion. The human looked guilty.
âSorry! Probably shouldâve warned you, huh?â His apologetic smile faded at the fear still lingering in Karlâs eyes. âHey, I really am sorry. I wasnât trying to hurt you, I just wanted to clean out that cut before it got infected. Or something.â
Karl just gave a slow nod, the adrenaline still in his body but beginning to drain a bit. His body was sluggish, and his mind was too. His eyes landed on a bit of bandaging, and he just pointed at it with some hesitance, not trusting his voice. The human seemed to understand, offering it with a gentle smile. He wrapped the fabric around his hand, securing it with practiced ease. He spotted a bit of lifting in the wall nearby, and, fueled by instinct, darted toward it.
A wave of exhaustion him, and his vision darkened. Ears ringing, he barely registered the human scooping him into his hands, feeling the warmth spreading through his body. His eyes drooped with exhaustion, his body going limp as the energy drained from him. A whimper escaped him, and he flinched as a massive finger brushed gingerly against his still-damp hair. âShhâŠjust sleepâŠyouâre safe.â
And Karl did, eyes slipping closed as an odd sense of security overcame him.
