Ahn Bo Hyun - Tumblr Posts
the way jeon pildo storyline had no reason being like that
my name
when i tell you i have screamed kicked shouted squealed and cried

i. the first time i ever saw han so hee was in soundtrack #1 so u can imagine the shock i got. the action? spectacular. the acting? fantabulous. the beautiful gory storyline? im in love.
ii. this is the second show in which i have shed actual tears (first one was guardian). the beautiful beautiful way they showed us the pain of both jiwoo and choi mujin, and we knew that jiwoo’s dad was definitely attached to both dongcheon members and his job so it definitely had to have hurt. choi mujin’s character was so spectacularly layered, instead of being a one dimensional evil druglord. i loved that whatever he did, we could see the pain in his eyes (im trying to make this as spoiler less as possible shutup)
iii. jeon pildo. do NOT get me started on that man. i dont think if i start ill be able to stop. HE DESERVED BETTER???? he was such an all rounder cutie pie and i was so happy when he defended jiwoo
iv. another thing i loved : unlike hollywood, kdramas dont shy away from making their heroines unattractive while fighting. i mean, how can hollywood heroines be flipped once punched twice kicked thrice and their hair is still set with a little dribble of blood from their lips? fuck yku man
jiwoo was shown crazy and mad and evil and vengeful and sentimental and stoic but we saw her longing for her life with her dad. and i think the ending, with the photo of both her dad and her on the grave, it was somehow a little bow on top.
ps: a little special point for do gangjae. that man was HOT
loving this new era of kdramas where the fl isnt afraid and meek to ASK for love all the time (and it isnt just the ml taking initiative
it’s good mun seo ha doesnt smile much because i truly think i would combust spontaneously if i saw ahn bo hyun smiling for more than a minute
i like a very delicate genre of tortured rich men that so many kdramas give me nowadays.
mun seo ha? gu won? i want to destroy everything that made my men cry.
i guess we’re out of the im feeling juicy juicy era now that the serious stuff is on 😭
finding out rowoon is taller than ahn bo hyun literally altered my brain chemistry because why is so rowoon so babygirl then
2023 kdrama list
list of the kdramas i watched and loved in 2023
obviously this is quite late but to those who want to start a kdrama, this is it.
#10 - soundtrack #2

there is such a comfort in the soundtrack series. even soundtrack #1 was so good, but this new instalment, truly works on the og kdrama tropes. lovers to exes to accidental 'fate' encounter to forced proximity to lovers again. puppy dog male lead, angsty female lead, jealousy, wholesome second lead, it's got it all. and ofc, music.
#9 - king the land

many people did not like this drama. honestly, if you're watching a kdrama that is romance and comedy then why would be angry that it had romance and comedy. again, a true example of a classic kdrama, rich ceo guy with hardworking girl, mix in some trauma and employee-employer drama, and this is the perfect clichéd drama.
#8 - see you in my 19th life

honestly i just like watching ahn bo hyun. he is such a pretty man. storyline-wise, i feel like they did a lot of stuff, but the ending honestly disappointed me. shin hye sun, as usual, love the woman, what an actor, the second leads also did not disappoint, loved them all.
#7 - crash course in romance

such a heartwarming drama. choi chiyeol with the temperament of a wet cat, the stress of studies in all asian countries, not just korea. all the romances were so cute (barring the best friend and brother). one thing they could have done better was cast a younger actress for the female lead. even this love triangle was so cute and fun.
#6 - my demon

song kang and kim yoo jung really killed it with the chemistry. i mean, forget everything else, i'll just take 16 episodes of them hanging out. even behind the scenes reels will work. the plot was pretty solid, felt like a remake of doom at your service. song kang does a wonderful job at being both goofy and serious, and kim yoo jung did so good at the angsty ceo.
#5 - the good bad mother

am i surprised this ended up higher than my demon? yes. this was such a good show, the past and present layered together so beautifully. the villains seemed like actual villains, but you weren't sure who to hate until the last episode. really shows some aspects of motherhood through both the eyes of the kids and mothers. had a cute little romance as well.
#4 - the worst of evil

ji chang wook and wi ha jun. need i say more? i have said it once, and i'll say it again - so few do action like koreans do. i mean, vincenzo, my name, midnight runners, and now this, such action masterpieces.
#3 - daily dose of sunshine

park bo young wa sso cute in this one. i miss small kdramas with intense plots. mental illnesses were dealt with very well in this one. the romance was so cute, and chang ryul, my baby, i missed him so much.
#2 - alchemy of souls s2

i just. love. this series. so much. like, the characters are so well built, the storyline, the romance, the destiny, oh my god. please watch this.
#1 - welcome to samdal-ri

this comes as a surprise to absolutely no one. what a feel-good drama to end 2023. it was the perfect remix of hometown cha cha cha that we all needed. ji chang wook, my absolute gem of a man, and shin hye sun, queen of no shit given but too many shits given roles. adore the friendships, romance, calm setting, the love between everyone. please watch it.
ahn bo hyun spinning in a chair, slicked back hair, twirling handcuffs: a VISION

it’s 2014 again and everyone is going crazy over zayn malik’s single strand.
except it’s 2024 and zayn malik is ahn bo hyun in flex x cop and im everyone.

this is honestly such a problem with the badass FL leads is their complete INABILITY to admit when they’re wrong
Flex x Cop is fun but the FL is driving me bonkers.
Sure, you don't want ML on your team - but it's your fault he's there! You are the one who arrested him wrongly and accused him of felonies when he actually caught the murderer you couldn't! The set up of him being a cop on your team saves your butt because if the truth came out, you'd be fired and possibly sued!!!!
I get the chip on your shoulder about rich people, especially idle ones, I even sympathize, but the utter lack of acknowledgment that YOU WERE THE ONE WHO FUCKED UP, and ability to apologize for that fuck up, and take responsibility for the results, is not a good look.
I read the story of Yumi's Cells and SPOILER Choi Minho's character is gay!!! I repeat, Choi Minho of SHINee's character is GAY!!!
Seeing Woong and Yu-mi being all cute and happy really makes me dread their eventual ending!! Writers, please let us be happy🙇♀️
My Name - kdrama a concise review.

My feels
All 2021 kdrama writers - because damn that was good but seriously WHY you gotta hurt us with another one of THOSE story lines?!?!
The emotional trajectory of all 2021 kdramas took a real turn since True Beauty.
I definitely feel a bit desensitized now after all these dramas kicked me in the crotch... My emotional crotch 🥲
My Name 10/10

*me after watching ANOTHER 2021 kdrama*

I have never been soooo invested in a drama since Law School. When I say invested, I mean the constant checking of tumblr and Instagram for anything about the show and the urge to put forward my theories. Aaaaaah, I wish I hadn't deleted my accounts I miss being so invested in kdrama tumblr.
ALSO THIS CORRECTION GAVE ME LIFE. I DID THINK THAT THE SUBTITLES DIDN'T MAKE SENSE AT CERTAIN DIALOGUES BUT I WAS NOT ADVANCED ENOUGH TO CATCH THIS SO THANK YOU OMG 😭😭
Okay so I'm watching Flex x Cop right now. And I finally watched episode 11.
(and I came straight to Tumblr to correct the misunderstanding the subtitles seem to have created.)
I know Disney+ subtitles are bad (let's not even talk about the disaster that is the subtitles for Moving). I know they are bad. But c'mon😫 atleast the easy things should be subtitled correctly.
So ep 11 has the famous scene that's everywhere right now. Isoo and Ganghyun in the villa of the cult leader.
So Isoo's subs go: "Everyone's worried about you. And I'm also your friend. Aren't I?" (This is wrong)
And Ganghyun doesn't reply. And everyone, everywhere is like, "Oh! Why didn't she reply?!?! She clearly trusts him, but he's not her friend?!?!?!"
Except Isoo never says that "Aren't I your friend?"
He says, with his hands on his chest, "Geurom Naneun? Naneun?!"
The correct translation would be(and this is actually romantic): "Then what about me? What about me?!"
See they are very close at this point. And they always move together on any case. Even though Junyoung and Ganghyun have been friends since a very long time, Isoo was the only one who knew that Ganghyun had gone away on a 'temple stay'. Ganghyun took him to her secret spot where she goes when she had a lot to think about. Isoo was the only one who knew where to find her when she was tensed about the case. Isoo thanked her because she basically gave him a place where he belonged by trusting him and not kicking him out. She can tell what next reckless thing he's planning with one look at his face. They go to work together. They have coffee together. They talk about food. This is more than romance. Familiarity. They trust each other completely now. Imagine what Isoo's going through if Ganghyun is not around. He never asks if he's her friend. That basically undeniably evident at this point.
So his lines actually go...
"You don't trust anyone, do you? Everyone's worried about you?... Then what about me? What about me?!"
And Ganghyun stays silent and stares at him because she doesn't have an answer to that. And Isoo stares back with that sad pouty face he makes. To which Ganghyun says, "that's enough".
But then she tells him to send pics to Junoung. Not for him to take it himself. Which means that she's ready for him to stay here with her...
