I realize I didn’t post anything for a while - partly due to art block/laziness partly because I needed to do some stuff for school and had a little trouble with my tablet ayyy :D anyway I’m working on some things so here you have a preview of what’s coming up! :D

Mer!Akin tries to teach Taur!Failon how to swim, but since a centaur's anatomy doesn't exactly make it easy to do any swimming strokes, he just frantically flails around in the shallow water while Akin holds back a giggle. Looks like the tables have been turned 😂 Taur!Failon: *cough* *sputter* "I'M SORRY! I'LL NEVER LAUGH AT YOU FLOPPING ON LAND EVER AGAIN"

“Hey, how hard can it be?” and Akin already /knows/ so he’s just waiting on the side for the show to begin.

Akin never forgets that and keeps making fun of Failon lmao “Okay I get it! You’re not made for walking and I’m not made for swimming. Let it go”

I kicked myself into finally drawing!

I’d say Failon is a cyborg detective with dark past, who one day found and picked up quite beaten up android Akin 3.012, he repaired him and from that day on he had a sarcastic and bratty companion <3 and then everything you said happens lmao :D 

Lol love that android AU, would be interesting if Akin was some sort of sci-fi sounding acronym or something XD As for Failon I can imagine that he was illegally augmented and on the run from the military who intend to experiment on him more and make him a weapon...

AKIN - Android cybernetics of intimate nature :D :D Translation: he was a bot for a lot of purposes :D

Ooooh that’s very interesting, maybe the military was developing the PERFECT cyborg that was just a weapon, so basically all the subjects were supposed to just obey orders and were stripped of their “humanity” as you said, but Failon kind of rebooted? And not all of his memories/personality were erased, so he ran away and went into hiding because he didn’t want to be just a weapon for someone to use

Maybe before “rebooting” he was just Subject #97 but after the reboot and him escaping he started going by Failon, because that’s just the name he chose. The name actually means honorable ;) 

So when he found Akin discarded and broken, he was really disgusted with humans and also was kinda reminded of what happened to him, so he decided to take care of Akin and repair him

2.  What is the thing they feel the most guilty about?

For Akin it’s definitely being a vampire and the need to hurt people in order to survive. He hates that part of himself and feels guilty about not being strong enough to suppress the urges that come with his vampire side.

For Failon it would be the death of people he cares about. He has lost a lot in his long life and he always blames himself, that’s why he always tries to push people away.

Akin: hurting the people he cares about, being used and abused, losing control of himself

Failon: being betrayed, being the cause of death of his loved one, being loved

Akin would change being a vampire, he would really love to be a normal human :)

For Failon it is more tricky because I think he wouldn’t change himself but more so what happened in his past or what might happen in his future.

Out of the two of them Akin is more controlled by his emotions, if you piss him off he will fight you :D and if he likes you - you know he likes you. Idk if that’s considered control, but he definitely lets them out more than Failon.

Failon does his best to keep his emotions below surface and he’s pretty good at it, if someone doesn’t bring up sore subjects for him like - heaven, betrayal, his father, emotions :D But because of that when he lets his emotions out, they’re always really strong.

45. What is the emotion they most commonly experience?

Akin - disappointment at himself as a negative emotion and idk if sarcasm is considered an emotion but yeee that’s Akin’s whole personality (not whole but for the most part :D) 

Failon - guilt or betrayal as the negative emotions and as a normal emotion it would be annoyance (at Akin lmao) 

Hm so akin's a vampire in the original canon? interesting, wonder what his powers/abilities are? does he have aversions to silver and sunlight like traditional vampires do? does he struggle to fight his thirst for blood (or is he a sort of "energy-vampire" that feeds off life-force rather than actual blood)?

Yeee :D Failon and Akin are both vampires tho Akin because he hates being one turned against his own kind and became a vampire hunter, he doesn’t kill all vampires just the ones he knows are not stable and make trouble for the ones trying to live in peace :)

I pretty much went with the heightened abilities - strength, speed, reflexes, senses and that stuff for vampires. They feed on blood it can be animal or human tho most vampires just prefer human because animal blood takes time to get accustomed to. Akin took the time and energy so he can drink from animals :D because he doesn’t like hurting humans (i know animals are good and cute and stuff but he is trying :D ). He struggles with drinking blood which means he purposefully starves himself to the point of exhaustion :D but he doesn’t go on a rampage or drinking spree. 

Sunlight and fire are top weaknesses for vampires, holy water will hurt them but unless you submerge them into like a barrel of it, it will not kill them - so swords/bullets/bolts soaked with holy water will give them a hard time. Also, stake through the heart. Otherwise, they are pretty much invincible - you can crush them to a pancake and they will regenerate :D. Also, werewolf saliva?? or venom when they bite - since the bite is normally what turns a human into a werewolf, hurts them and they have to do a kind of bloodletting to get rid of the poisoned blood in their system.

Akin is a “special” kind of vampire tho so sunlight doesn’t really bother him if he has enough blood, but with him starving himself it becomes an issue :D 

They have to have permission to enter houses but since most vampires tend to live in abandoned houses or stay over at their vampire friend’s house that doesn’t really bother them, most vampires consider humans to be food, potential followers/kindred or slaves/thralls. And they tend to hunt in the “wild” anyway unless they have a specific target they wanna chomp down on. 

Silver is not really a problem for vampires but it is lethal for werewolves in this story :D

I didn’t think about the garlic thing but I guess they don’t care much? Vampires don’t need to eat normal food but they can if they choose to (it will not ease the thirst/hunger for blood but it tastes good?? :D) Also for a vampire to get drunk they need to mix the alcohol with blood so the alcohol can stay in their system longer. So there could be like vampires with an aversion to garlic because they just don’t like it?? And maybe they’re the ones who started that one rumour about vampires not liking it :D 

wow this got long I got a lot of lore ayyyy, hopefully it’s a good answer? :D 

Enemies to “ugh I can’t believe I’m saving your life” to “ugh we have to work together or the world ends but it’s not like I like you or anything” to “oh we actually connect pretty well but that doesn’t mean anything” to “I would die for you but don’t read too much into it” to “I’ll kill anyone who lays a finger on you” to Lovers.

Interesting idea: if LST is a battle of heaven and hell it would be an interesting twist to have a major antagonist be an evil angel, with some of the forces of hell being morally dubious but ultimately noble and heroic individuals, and some of the forces of heaven being self-exalting narcissists seeing humans as mere playthings, thus making "good and evil" not so clear-cut :D

Now now, I don’t wanna, you know, spoil too much anon, but I think you’re on to something there ;) :D 

In LST you can certainly find some noble demons of hell as well as not so saintly servants of God :))). I didn’t wanna go the traditional way of - Good versus Evil!!! We are the good guys and the bad guys always lose! Sometimes you might be on the wrong side of things even if you have good intentions.

I think a lot of the characters in this story are in the morally grey area - they do a lot of shady things but they are also just trying to live their life and if you don’t fuck with them they generally don’t fuck with you. 

I don’t think there are purely good guys and purely bad guys even in the real world, but this story is certainly not from the “good guy” perspective, tho it is about trying to stop a war that might destroy the world. I’m trying to explore the not so good sides of the main characters - Akin and Failon are not good people (they are not even people :D) well in a shady world, you must adopt some shady tactics.

It’s been really tiring these days so I haven’t had time to do any proper art or drawings, because we’re doing a week of Christmas cleanup! :D

Okay so I imagined Failon living in like a cave with a little pool of water and so he is more of the “living in the dark” type of merfolk, so that’s why he has dark eyes and he is kind of eel-like :D, he can slither on land kind of like a naga - it’s easier for him than for mer!Akin :D 

And as for Akin well, he is the same as always :D a sunshine :D getting curious about a cave or getting chased by hunters and stumbling upon the said cave, finding Failon > striking up a conversation > annoyed to boyfriends ayyy :D 

Did some art because I became obsessed with a Hogwarts AU of my boys and @lepetitcomte joined my team so now our boys are having adventures togetherrr askjgaflh
