What's Lucifer's Saint Trinity? Is it a video game or an anime series? Or your own fanfic perhaps?

Ahhh LST is my original story that I’m writing with a friend and it’s the story of Akin and Failon :’)

it’s on ao3 but it’s in czech, because I fear my english is too inferior for me to translate it :’D

2.  What is the thing they feel the most guilty about?

For Akin it’s definitely being a vampire and the need to hurt people in order to survive. He hates that part of himself and feels guilty about not being strong enough to suppress the urges that come with his vampire side.

For Failon it would be the death of people he cares about. He has lost a lot in his long life and he always blames himself, that’s why he always tries to push people away.

5.  List 3 fears; one “surface level” fear, one “repressed” fear, and one “deep dark” fear.

Akin: hurting the people he cares about, being used and abused, losing control of himself

Failon: being betrayed, being the cause of death of his loved one, being loved

8.  Do they have anything that triggers them?

Akin - assault/abuse

Failon - emotions :D (especially love)

35. If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?

Akin would change being a vampire, he would really love to be a normal human :)

For Failon it is more tricky because I think he wouldn’t change himself but more so what happened in his past or what might happen in his future.

36. Are they in control of their emotions, or are their emotions in control of them?

Out of the two of them Akin is more controlled by his emotions, if you piss him off he will fight you :D and if he likes you - you know he likes you. Idk if that’s considered control, but he definitely lets them out more than Failon.

Failon does his best to keep his emotions below surface and he’s pretty good at it, if someone doesn’t bring up sore subjects for him like - heaven, betrayal, his father, emotions :D But because of that when he lets his emotions out, they’re always really strong.

45. What is the emotion they most commonly experience?

Akin - disappointment at himself as a negative emotion and idk if sarcasm is considered an emotion but yeee that’s Akin’s whole personality (not whole but for the most part :D) 

Failon - guilt or betrayal as the negative emotions and as a normal emotion it would be annoyance (at Akin lmao) 

Hm so akin's a vampire in the original canon? interesting, wonder what his powers/abilities are? does he have aversions to silver and sunlight like traditional vampires do? does he struggle to fight his thirst for blood (or is he a sort of "energy-vampire" that feeds off life-force rather than actual blood)?

Yeee :D Failon and Akin are both vampires tho Akin because he hates being one turned against his own kind and became a vampire hunter, he doesn’t kill all vampires just the ones he knows are not stable and make trouble for the ones trying to live in peace :)

I pretty much went with the heightened abilities - strength, speed, reflexes, senses and that stuff for vampires. They feed on blood it can be animal or human tho most vampires just prefer human because animal blood takes time to get accustomed to. Akin took the time and energy so he can drink from animals :D because he doesn’t like hurting humans (i know animals are good and cute and stuff but he is trying :D ). He struggles with drinking blood which means he purposefully starves himself to the point of exhaustion :D but he doesn’t go on a rampage or drinking spree. 

Sunlight and fire are top weaknesses for vampires, holy water will hurt them but unless you submerge them into like a barrel of it, it will not kill them - so swords/bullets/bolts soaked with holy water will give them a hard time. Also, stake through the heart. Otherwise, they are pretty much invincible - you can crush them to a pancake and they will regenerate :D. Also, werewolf saliva?? or venom when they bite - since the bite is normally what turns a human into a werewolf, hurts them and they have to do a kind of bloodletting to get rid of the poisoned blood in their system.

Akin is a “special” kind of vampire tho so sunlight doesn’t really bother him if he has enough blood, but with him starving himself it becomes an issue :D 

They have to have permission to enter houses but since most vampires tend to live in abandoned houses or stay over at their vampire friend’s house that doesn’t really bother them, most vampires consider humans to be food, potential followers/kindred or slaves/thralls. And they tend to hunt in the “wild” anyway unless they have a specific target they wanna chomp down on. 

Silver is not really a problem for vampires but it is lethal for werewolves in this story :D

I didn’t think about the garlic thing but I guess they don’t care much? Vampires don’t need to eat normal food but they can if they choose to (it will not ease the thirst/hunger for blood but it tastes good?? :D) Also for a vampire to get drunk they need to mix the alcohol with blood so the alcohol can stay in their system longer. So there could be like vampires with an aversion to garlic because they just don’t like it?? And maybe they’re the ones who started that one rumour about vampires not liking it :D 

wow this got long I got a lot of lore ayyyy, hopefully it’s a good answer? :D 

What about the werewolves in the story? Is the story about the age-old rivalry between vampires and werewolves, it's been played off a lot but i'd love to see your take on it :)

Ok first of I have to tell you - thank you so much for asking me about LST I’m always very excited to talk about it :D and it actually helps me connect things in my story! So THANK YOU

I don’t think I have it as the age-old rivalry it’s more something that developed over time. Lucifer’s Saint Trinity is a trinity of generals appointed by yours truly Lucifer :D one of them is the original vampire (Failon), one of them the original werewolf (Samael - I made Lucifer and Samael separate entities because it made more sense for the backstory :D but I am aware that in some canons Samael is just another name of Lucifer) and the third one is a powerful demon (Asam). 

also they are all really old by the start of LST just saying the lore goes back thousands of years for some of them haha

And in the beginning, they were all working together - not trying to usurp the world or heaven but just to balance things out. To make sure that heaven won’t try to take control etc. Because the main conflict is between heaven and hell, the earth is just the battleground for that conflict.

Their main purpose was to maintain that balance, but of course, they are the generals of hell so they also terrorize humans and make deals and make life hard for a lot of people :D but not so much as to wipe everyone else of the face of earth :D

So the rivalry between vampires and werewolves is a more recent thing relatively. There were always some fights between them but most of the time they stayed out of each other’s way or tried to work together. So LST starts somewhere at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century and the rivalry between werewolves and vampires is already there. So I guess? It just has a different backstory and the two factions don’t start off as enemies but develop into that. So it’s kinda different but kinda still similar :D 

The story is kind of about the conflict? It’s definitely in the background, but the main story that Failon and Akin play a role in, is not really about like a war of werewolves and vampires but more about taking out the main corrupted part of the werewolf faction that started this conflict.  

There is more to the backstory but I don’t wanna give out any spoilers haha :D 

Enemies to “ugh I can’t believe I’m saving your life” to “ugh we have to work together or the world ends but it’s not like I like you or anything” to “oh we actually connect pretty well but that doesn’t mean anything” to “I would die for you but don’t read too much into it” to “I’ll kill anyone who lays a finger on you” to Lovers.

Interesting idea: if LST is a battle of heaven and hell it would be an interesting twist to have a major antagonist be an evil angel, with some of the forces of hell being morally dubious but ultimately noble and heroic individuals, and some of the forces of heaven being self-exalting narcissists seeing humans as mere playthings, thus making "good and evil" not so clear-cut :D

Now now, I don’t wanna, you know, spoil too much anon, but I think you’re on to something there ;) :D 

In LST you can certainly find some noble demons of hell as well as not so saintly servants of God :))). I didn’t wanna go the traditional way of - Good versus Evil!!! We are the good guys and the bad guys always lose! Sometimes you might be on the wrong side of things even if you have good intentions.

I think a lot of the characters in this story are in the morally grey area - they do a lot of shady things but they are also just trying to live their life and if you don’t fuck with them they generally don’t fuck with you. 

I don’t think there are purely good guys and purely bad guys even in the real world, but this story is certainly not from the “good guy” perspective, tho it is about trying to stop a war that might destroy the world. I’m trying to explore the not so good sides of the main characters - Akin and Failon are not good people (they are not even people :D) well in a shady world, you must adopt some shady tactics. 

Akin tries, but even he isn’t completely “good”

Ayyyy don’t mind the post-war thing :D that’s just me daydreaming about a future that might not come to beeee because im evil and angsty :D

I love that twist on good vs. evil, i can imagine some demons being reluctant victims of circumstance, misguided evildoers who think they're doing what's right, or chaotic good antiheroes caring for others but defying divine laws. On the angels side, we could have templars destroying all they percieve as impure, or with facist ideals about who are worthy of life, or those blinded by their strict adherence to the law...

Yeah pretty much what I'm trying to do with LST :D

You know, to show that the world isn't so black and white and most people live in the shades of greyyy (and gayyy) :D

Lucifer is pretty cool in LST I'd hang out with him :D

PS: I know it might sound pretty cool but I feel like im a shitty writer so most likely my ideas are great but the actual writing might not be ayyy :D but its not terrible :D

so how exactly does heaven and hell work in LST? i had the weird idea about hell not actually being a place of eternal torment and damnation, but rather a sort of refugee camp for heaven's rejects, rebels being hunted down by the angels, and heaven itself not exactly being all sunshine and fluffy clouds as you'd expect, as it has a darker side to it as well...

Oh yeah thats basically the idea my idea for the torturing and punishment of souls of sinners is basically the Purgatory and Hell is basically after you've done your sentence (some people never do) and you basically just do work for Lucifer :D either in hell or you're sent to earth as a demon

Heaven is more like professional - Angels all have like a purpose from the time they are born or created. They either protect Heaven, Hunt rebels as you've said or there are also archangels who are basically the ones calling the shots (when god tells them) also guardian angels :D

Also heaven and Hell are both different realms so time flows differently and are not dependent on earth's progress (industrial or otherwise) so you can find a lot of different things there. I basically imagine hell in kinda dark and dungeony but pretty comfortable little "fortressy" style :D like stone structures maybe a bit of modernism? :D and heaven as like this place of light so like the marble architekture and stuff - tall buildings with towers...

I hope that makes sense :D

What do demons look like in LST? Are they the typical horned humanoids a la Hellboy, or is there a new twist taken with their look?

In hell, they can pretty much look like the typical horned humanoid. I think they resemble humans the least of everyone else - they are humanoid but it depends on the type of demon. There are a lot of subcategories of demons like lesser and higher, the lower on the scale they are the less humanoid they look I think. So only like really powerful demons have very distinct humanoid features but still keep their demonic ones (some may have horns, some may have scales, more limbs, etc.)

On earth, it’s different because a demon needs to possess a human in order to have a form. Otherwise, they are just black smoke with eyes :D (looks creepy in the dark but kinda silly during the day :D ). So they really blend in and can only change the way they look by changing the host. 

You can recognize a demon by their eyes - they are some shade of yellow-orange. And can glow very brightly if they get angry.

so the lesser demons are less humanoid? are they more animal like, somewhat like hellhounds? wonder if their also less intelligent and act more like feral beasts

More animal-like, walking on all four - more prominent demonic features like the horns, scales, some may have a lot more eyes etc. Higher demons only have maybe 2-3 prominent demonic features, so you can meet a humanoid looking demon with just one horn and be like aiiight :D (I find demons with a lot of eyes kinda creepy but kinda cool because there are some depictions of angels being just a form with many eyes - so there are also fallen angels turned demons in Hell ayyy)

It also doesn’t take much to summon a lesser demon, if you wanted to summon a higher tier demon you’d have to put much more effort into it so that’s why some witch rituals involve sacrifices (sometimes even human).

They are generally less intelligent yes, they function purely on instinct which is basically - feed and kill/scare intruders away. They aren’t really considered pets tho there are some creatures in hell you can tame and teach like the hellhounds, serpents and such.

I think werewolves in LST are the most fascinating because they come in with the most rules and dynamics :D but it’s pretty much a mish-mash of already explored tropes, I don’t think I’m being suuuuper original with them :D 

Werewolves in LST can turn on their own but it’s very painful - the closer the full moon gets the easier the transformation is. They can try to suppress the transformation during a full moon but the call of the moon is really strong and especially if they are young or newly turned wolves they can’t really control the need to transform and just run free.

The older a werewolf gets the more in control they are - there are exceptions of course. Some werewolves can choose to abandon their humanity and stay forever in their full wolf form - they are a lot larger than normal wolves and their eyes are different - alpha usually has red eyes. But the more they stay in the full wolf form the more feral and less human they become so after a time they will just lose any sense of ever being human - that’s why a lot of werewolves avoid reverting to that form and only transforming into their more aggressive form (it’s better for fighting so it’s a win-win). Partial transformation is possible tho not used very often and only really well-controlled werewolves can manage that - to impress anyone with their can opening skill ;)

There is a hierarchy - alpha, beta and omega. Only one alpha with each pack except if it’s a bonded pair (married alphas stick together). Beta is the standard member of any pack and their percentage is the highest of all werewolves. Omegas are in the same percentage as alphas, but it depends on the size of a pack. There can be multiple omegas male or female and they are not lone wolves, they are legitimate and respected members of any pack - even if other members tend to pick on them, but in the most part it’s just playful and if anyone else threatens an omega they are shunned by everyone else. It’s kinda like “You’re such a dumbass idiot... Wha- HEY WHAT YOU SAYING ABOUT MY FRIEND HERE IMMA MESS YOU UP!”

And because I am a pervy little shit there are heat cycles but not every month that’d be too much fucking :D I think every 3-4 month there is a week where everyone just wants to make babies, usually it’s manageable and they don’t lose their minds over it, but sometimes it can get intense for omegas.

There is a myth about soulmates and some werewolves really do find theirs but they’re in the minority, usually they bond (get wolf married ayyy) with whoever they are in love with and they mate for life, so it’s really hard for both partners if they decide to split up after having been mated - it can be done, but nothing can ever substitute that bond even if they fall in love with someone else the bond is always there. And if one partner dies the other wolf can go into a deep depression and sometimes even commits suicide. God forbid someone threatens or kills anyone’s mate - they are in for a time of utter misery and pain from the other wolf (they will find the culprit oh yeah). 

The bonding involves a ritual - either a bite on the shoulder or bite on the inside of the wrist.

Anyone who challenges and wins (doesn’t have to kill but it happens) against an alpha becomes the new alpha of the pack and then it depends on how each pack functions sometimes the other alpha becomes some sort of elder being relied on for advice or judgement - still respected tho not as much as the new alpha. Some packs chase the losing party away and some packs just kill them if they don’t die during the combat.

Werewolves can communicate with each other, however, it is more difficult for not transformed werewolves (tough time understanding growls). Some werewolves in the aggressive form can manage simple speech understandable even to humans. The one exception here is family. If there is a connection by blood with the werewolves it doesn’t matter if a member of the family is in wolf form they will understand each other.

Okay, I may have forgotten some things but this is all I can think of as of now. Hopefully, it’s understandable :D also I found out I can’t draw werewolves so I shall train more :D 

Yeah it is fascinating, I need to really come up with like a myth or a legend for it so it’s like even more cool! :D 

I think it might be based on werewolves actually seeing and believing that humans are the more savage and ruthless ones then wolves or werewolves? Because wolves in nature usually hunt for food and survival, so the pack can stay alive for next year, but humans just kill for fun or for material and kinda superficial reasons?

So some werewolves turn to nature and decide they don’t want to be associated with their human side anymore because they believe their wolf side is more pure and not based on human selfishness. 

Also for a lot of people being a werewolf really was a curse - they got bitten by a rouge or during a fight and because they could not control their transformations and in fear of living with human guilt they just decided to forget and become full wolves. It is easier to accept yourself when you don’t remember who you were or the things you did before, after all. 

Some werewolves even if they change forever into full wolves stay with their pack, the wolf side still seeing them as a family as pack, but most of the time they leave and find a new pack either with werewolves turned wolves or with normal wolves.

Also, worth noting that if a werewolf dies in their wolf form they don’t turn back, and the same applies when a werewolf in human form dies. This ties well in the prosecution of like witchcraft and any supernatural element during the inquisition era - you couldn’t really prove that you killed a werewolf if they didn’t turn, so all the accusations were made on speculation and a lot of normal humans were killed. Also, like if you killed the werewolf in their full form it just looks like a bigger wolf sooo... :D not much to prove it was a werewolf either.

The best proof was to kill a werewolf in their aggressive form but like it’s called their fight/aggressive form for a reason - they are very hard to kill in this form and they are super fast and agile.

Since I don’t think I mentioned it before - the main weaknesses are silver, cutting off their head/heart and water, in the sense that it’s really hard for them to swim even though they are agile and fast they have a lot of mass and when they get wet their weight just drags them down. So they generally prefer not to swim in a large body of water or strong rivers.

It’s been really tiring these days so I haven’t had time to do any proper art or drawings, because we’re doing a week of Christmas cleanup! :D 

But I am working on some things, so have this sneak peek, I know it’s not much and probably looks like trash but anywayyy :D I’m trying to get my mojo back slowly but surely <3

Do werewolves' clothes rip apart when they transform? I can imagine like, a nudist camp of werewolves who just never bother to wear any clothes at all because they just always ruin them anyway from frequent transformations XD

I couldn’t resist a silly sketch :D 

Yes, the clothes rip apart, the exception would be like a really stretchy material? :D :D but I imagine it would not be too comfortable. When they know they’re going to transform or it’s just for the full moon, they have time to take their clothes off, fast transformations stress the body more because the bones snap too fast (and it’s usually when they need to fight or are discovered by hunters or something). When it’s a slow and relaxed transformation, they can take their time, it hurts way less and they take off their clothes beforehand :)

NUDITY CAMPS! AKsfjgasfkjas :D  Well it really depends on where they live. If they are hiding amongst humans it would be impractical to be always naked, but those are usually either lone wolves or rich people with their inner circle (which is their pack).

There are a lot of nomadic packs that travel from countries, and they tend to stay away from civilization so they wear fewer clothes. It also depends on the structure or the belief system of the pack, the more connected to their wolf side and nature they are the fewer clothes they wear because they would feel that the clothes only restrict them.

But usually, they wear clothes, except for the full moon of course :D

I’m not sure about the coloring and the background, but I tried :D so hopefully it doesn’t look too horrible <3 

I always found it weird that when stories go with vampire/werewolf race wars its always aristocratic vampires vs. savage primitive werewolves. like, it would be interesting if it was the werewolves who were the royal purebloods (with the added bonus of the metaphor of dog breeding, maybe mixed-clan marriages are looked down as impure "mongrels")

I think it has to do as I mentioned that werewolves are more closely tied to nature, because they actually turn into a sort of animal, not just a monster, so living as “savage” or “primitive” and far away from civilization might be benefiting to them because then they can start a huge pack and not worry about killing too many people or bringing attention to themselves.

I think for werewolves to completely fit into a city life they’d have to be aristocrats and not have a huge pack. Because then they’d have the means to stay hidden - tied in a basement of their mansion is a pretty solid way to spend a full moon if you can’t go rampaging around a city :D 

I think in LST there are types of both there are primitive and nature loving werewolves who just accepted their curse and benefits that go with it. But there are also those who want to enjoy the luxury and if you get to kill someone why not someone rich so you can steal their house and money :D. 

Also generally speaking since the process of turning someone into a werewolf is very brutal (that person must be torn to shreds but not die and there’s like 80% chance they’re gonna die) they take very good care of new werewolves. Also, werewolves can be born so babies or pups are taken care of quite well. There is a possibility of a normal human being born, but they are still considered part of the pack and not shunned in most cases (only if the wolves are assholes).

Unlike vampires who can just turn anyone and leave them to then die or wreak havoc amongst the poorer districts and then be killed by a hunter. Sometimes the turning is intentional in that way that you save someone’s life or it’s your loved one so you want to be with them in eternal life, but most vampires don’t care - the younger ones especially. The older vampires are kinda set in their traditions so they can control themselves and don’t turn people on a whim and should they turn someone they take care of them.

I don’t know about mixed-clan marriages but usually vampires and werewolves keep to their own, but it’s not unheard of that a vampire and werewolf would want to be together but then it’s on them and they have to be extra careful since werewolf venom from a bite is poisonous to a vampire in large doses lmao :D. Vampires are drawn to humans to make them their partners or thralls so no one judges anyone who falls in love with a human (maybe like those really conceited vampires who are like “humans are food how can you disgrace yourself so” but they are in a minority).

I was in an angsty mood so I drew Failon with his ex-wife Katherin. Nothing too spoily but their “love” story doesn’t turn out so well :) This song was stuck in my head the whole time I was drawing them and it fits perfectly.
