“Why do you ship RoyalHalo instead of Chaggie?” Fair question, and I’ll tell you the answer. Vaggie:
-Doesn’t care about the sinners, and openly resents and insults them instead of trying to understand them and help them redeem themselves
-Only lives and works at the hotel, and defends it and its guests and staff, because it’s what Charlie wants
-Has no goals or motivation of her own which doesn’t revolve around Charlie
-Lied to Charlie for years about her past, and never properly apologised for it
-Has no chemistry with Charlie which isn’t based on surface levels of wholesomeness and cuteness with no depth
-Is openly annoyed by Charlie’s singing
Compared to Emily, who:
-Supports Charlie’s goals because she agrees with them, and not because she’s going along with whatever she wants to make her happy
-Stands up for the sinners because she genuinely doesn’t think that they deserve extermination
-Wants to protect all human souls, even those who are in Hell
-Is her own character with her own motivation and goals which don’t revolve entirely around Charlie
-Shares Charlie’s love for singing
-Defends Charlie without completely speaking over her
And that is why RoyalHalo is superior to Chaggie in my heart ❤️ of course if you don’t agree, that’s fine, but this is my opinion
Pilot Vaggie was an interesting character with potential, I was in love with the idea of her being a more recently deceased sinner who had more up to date knowledge about how the living world works compared to say, Alastor, or Husk. Show Vaggie is just boring and mean to everyone, including Charlie.
I love Pilot!Vaggie. I hope Show!Vaggie dies onscreen, brutally.
I love how Chaggie shippers like to immediately call anyone who doesn’t like Chaggie homophobic. A Chaggie shipper once said to me, ‘boo! You hate sapphics!’ and then when I told them I’m a RoyalHalo shipper, they suddenly went all quiet. Chaggie fans are just as toxic as Huskerdust fans, I swear.
Every time Vaggie is on screen, she’s either annoyed by Charlie, or being a bitch to her friends (They’re not Vaggie’s friends, she clearly hates them all). They shouldn’t be together.
Why Does Vaggie Even Love Charlie?
What exactly made Vaggie fall for Charlie and want to be with her? The only thing resembling an explanation is this lyric in Whatever It Takes; "It felt so good to be understood".
Ok, uh, what does that mean? How did Charlie make Vaggie feel understood? Was she "misunderstood" during her time in Heaven? We don't know because the show never explores Vaggie's time in Heaven, so this is just left in the realm of headcanon.
Things I want to happen in Hazbin Hotel Season 2 (That probably won’t happen):
-A full explanation as to how Husk became an overlord, and how he lost his power to Alastor
-Husk being confronted by the souls he used to own, or by the loved ones of the sinners he killed
-Angel ascending to Heaven and reuniting with his sister
-Crymini. I feel like giving Husk a daughter to care for would help redeem him, or at least make him less shitty in my eyes
-Charlie and Vaggie break up
-Charlie and Emily getting together
-Alastor and Rosie becoming the first queerplatonic couple in mainstream media
-Origin stories for all of the sinners
One thing about Vaggie that gets me is that... she never really grows or gets an arc throughout the show.
The most that happened to her is that she just changes leaders to follow. Instead of following one who's cruel to her, she now follows one that's nicer to her. Which isn't all that great or compelling.
Not one bit. On top of that, she clearly hates the hotel, and Charlie’s friends. She’s a mean lesbian stereotype who doesn’t even have a good justification for her meanness.
Her original backstory was that she was a sinner from El Salvador who died in 2014, but this has probably all been retconned. In the show, it’s implied that Adam created Vaggie along with the other exorcists, as he explicitly details the fact that he named her.

I can’t believe that Amazon had the audacity to post a Chaggie compilation and call it, ‘pride goals’. Because every wlw dreams of being in a relationship with a woman who hates all of their friends and is openly annoyed by their goals, personality and interests, right? 🙄
Honestly, bad rep is worse than no rep at all. Their relationship is bland at best and toxic at worst.

The first half are those who are desperate to have any WLW content that they romanticize any and all, no matter how bad. The other half are people who love WLW content but don't want bad rep, they still want quality rep.
I felt like the only reason that that stupid duet and kiss happened is because otherwise, there’d be no reason for anyone to think that Charlie and Vaggie are a couple. Their relationship could be removed from the show and nothing would change, because that’s how little it matters to the plot.
I'm just gonna come out and say it, and I don't care who disagrees with me.
Chaggie in general feels so queerbaity it hurts. From them not acting like an actual couple, to the conflict not really contributing or even said anything about them, to the undeserving romantic duet and kiss.
And just like Chaggie, they suck as a couple and have absolutely no reason to be together.
Anyone willing to bet five dollars that the reason why Martha and Mrs Mayberry are a couple now is so Viv can have a “Gotcha!” Moment to people criticizing the lack of sapphic couples in both of her shows?
I don't know if I'm just looking too deep into this, but the part where Vaggie's being all "If I can't help you, then what's the point of me?" And then them meeting up again after that fight, CHARLIE'S the one to apologize and say "I should've trusted you" even though Vaggie was being a bit crazy.
... Doesn't that sound a bit like Vaggie was kind of guilt tripping her? Most likely unintentional.
Looking back on it, that is pretty manipulative, whether it was intentional or not. A common manipulation tactic when someone is angry with you about something you did is to make them feel bad for you so that they drop the subject instead of expecting an apology. And that is exactly what Vaggie did; she made Charlie feel as if she’s nothing without her instead of apologising, and Charlie, having jello for a spine, fell for it hook, line, and sinker.
Oh yes, because EVERY wlw dreams of being with a mean lesbian stereotype who hates all of their friends, lies to them for years, and clearly doesn’t support their dreams. That shit gets lesbians hotter than Chappell Roan, right? 🙄

Thinking about Vaggie again and I realized something.
Whenever Charlie suggests an idea about something, Vaggie is quick to shoot it down and suggest to do things HER way instead of trying to come up with a middle ground for the both of them to agree on.
It shows how kind of controlling Vaggie kind of is and how she really doesn't trust Charlie to handle things, which doesn't sound good for this main wlw couple.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, why are they together when Vaggie hates Charlie and everything she stands for?
I think one of Vivziepop’s biggest writing problems is that she’s too eager to give the fandom what they want in terms of shipping. There is no reason for Charlie and Vaggie to be together; Vaggie doesn’t like Charlie or any of her friends, but they’re together because someone who worked on the storyboards for the pilot thought that they’d be cute as a couple. Husk and Angel Dust have no reason to be together either, they have nothing in common, Husk is clearly annoyed by Angel Dust and wants him to leave him alone, but they’re going to be forced together because fans started shipping Huskerdust because of the character Instagram pages. Stolas doesn’t deserve Blitzø, and yet because Stolitz is the most popular ship in Helluva Boss, he’s going to get him anyway. Look, I understand wanting to please your fans, but you can’t throw away your artistic integrity just to give people what they want, because that’s how you end up with three ships that don’t make sense.
