Anti Loki Series - Tumblr Posts
Loki is not ooc, just because he doesn't fit your headcanons doesn't make him ooc. I would agree if he was drastically different from what we've seen already (aka Steve) but he's still the same, his "motivation" of wanting to be King/is whole persona is an act. He even says it in the episode.
lmao. you're allowed to have your own opinions but this is kind of a pointless ask to send imho. I know the difference between my head canons and canon thanks. I don't think Loki is ooc because he doesn't match my head canons. I think he's ooc because he is drastically different from how he has previously been characterized. Watch some clips from Thor 2011, Avengers, and TDW and then watch a scene from the Loki show. The difference is jarring.
Movie!Loki always stands with a straight posture, as befits his royal background. His expressions and the way he emotes are also very subtle. He tries to hide his true feelings and the feelings he does reveal are often to a certain extent performative in order to deflect from deeper issues. There is a stillness to him. He has tremendous economy of movement, even in a fight. He has a confident, artful speaking style. There is tremendous depth to him; he rarely says what he means but you can see all that conflict flickering in his eyes. He affects an insouciant manner. He makes a great show of being externally cool and collected and has a dry wit. He exudes charisma.
TV!Loki has none of this. He doesn’t stand straight and command the room. He doesn’t exude charisma. He’s not still at all; he constantly flails about, making grandiose over-exaggerated gestures that might work in a comic panel but feel awkward in live action. His facial expressions aren’t subtle at all nor is he guarded with his emotions. Instead he pulls clownish, comedically exaggerated expressions that are really only suitable for slapstick comedy. He doesn’t hide his vulnerabilities but instead openly shows fear, surprise and alarm, in a manner that is often meant to be silly and comedic. He also doesn’t talk at all like Loki. He uses casual earth slang - things Loki would never say even in Ragnarok which gave the Asgardians a somewhat more casual speaking style. There is also no real depth.
TV!Loki is not performative in his emotions. He just openly shows what he’s feeling at the moment. He’s not cool or collected or confident, nor does he pretend to be. He yelps in alarm. He gasps in annoyance. He grimaces and gapes in clownish fear. He doesn’t feel otherworldly or dangerous or regal. There is no sense of danger and coiled threat; he doesn’t snap and snarl when challenged but rather gapes like a fish because he can’t think of a comeback. He just feels like a regular guy who is out of his depth. A very human guy. Except he doesn’t even ring true as a human because the performance is too slapstick and comedic and over the top. He feels like a caricature. His fighting style is also totally different.
The character in the tv show doesn’t feel like Loki to me. He doesn’t stand like him or react like him or talk like him or move like him or emote like him. Other than the name and the actor they have nothing in common.
Now. You don't have to agree with me. But it has nothing to do with me being unable to distinguish head canons from canon.
I've watched very little of the S2 because my dad would watch it while we ate (consequences of loving ur dad) so I don't remember well but I think yall are talking about the same thing I'm thinking about

BAM. LOOM BULL***
all multiverses go through there and blah blah gets overloaded bc of how many new branche
But the loom-bull*** is not fucking explained. I mean they tell you it's THERE, and what would happen. But you don't get told WHY.
Why is it necessary? whys it there? did the TVA make it? was it always there? what would happen if you suddenly removed it?
and it doesn't bother me that they don't answer this as much as it bothers me that NOBODY QUESTIONS IT. LOKI DOESN'T ASK THESE QUESTIONS (as far as i remember), Mobius makes sense he's an idiot but God just being shown something and being told to roll with it is so annoying in whatever piece of media.
Anyways that's my quick ramble and I'll leave it at that because I wanna go kiss my boyfriend goodnight
Also this is from sylvie fans when I comments that sylvie is not thinking further when she kill HWR , can you translate what they meant because I confuse what they trying said to me 👇
okay actually season two really mistreats Sylvie and her decision to kill HWR in a way that really irks me. the only reason Sylvie was "wrong" to kill HWR was because it opened up the possibility of a multiversal war, but nothing is done to change that so season two ends in exactly the same place season one did. season two throws in the loom just to distract you from the fact that Loki does nothing to fix that original problem. by taking his throne at the end of time, Loki is allowing the multiverse to exist and allowing each timeline to create its own Kang and allowing this multiversal war to happen exactly the same way that Sylvie did in season one, but because he "fixed the loom problem" that didn't even exist in season one, it's painted as a noble sacrifice where he singlehandedly saves all of creation. in reality, all he's doing is saying that Sylvie was right to free the multiverse and he would give his life to ensure that nobody can walk back that decision.
tl;dr the moral of Loki season two is actually that Sylvie was right to kill HWR 🙏
(this fic takes a different route though because the TVA is just going to swoop in and snag the evil Kangs before they can do Evil Kang Things™️ which means it fixes the problem of season one, someone season two completely neglected to even attempt to do) (I am bitter) (#SylvieDefenseSquad)
Oh, you just threw a bunch a words at me at once and I have no idea. What is this loom bullsh***? Where did that come from? The first season and the surrounding films about the multiverse were about how the universe crossing over and the potential problems that could cause by that. Why are universe just falling apart on their own now?
The problem that I saw with Sylvie killing HWR was the fact she didn't care about the consequence and actively if it created more problems and people got hurt. It sounds like the exact thing happen in season 2, killing HWR created more problems. Now the things Loki seemed to be worried about, something worse taking kang place, wasn't exactly the resulting problem. Loki didn't want HWR to keep ruling, he wanted to stop and think about some other kind of solution. Sylvie just killed one person and then f**ed off and that didn't solve the problem at all.
Killing one guy didn't solve fascism, people still tried to carry on the mission until others step in and stop them. Sylvie is proven short sighted and wrong in thinking killing HWR was the solution.
Sure, maybe the idea of freeing the multiverse is better than having time fascists destroy all but one version time is correct. But that rewriting what was going on in the season one finale. Sylvie was not arguing any kind of morals or philosophy, she wanted revenge.
The entire series is a tangled inconsistent mess of mismatched ideas. Saying Sylvie was right is rewriting why she did what she did. It's ignoring that what she did didn't solve the problem. It's ignoring that Loki just want to stop and think and there was never real ticking clock preventing them from thinking it through the first time.
THEY TRY TO STAY RELEVANT BUT YET RUIN EVERYTHING GOOD THEY'VE DONE BY HIRING INEXPERIENCED PEOPLE THAT QUITE LITERALLY NEVER WATCHED THE MOVIES BEFORE (Ex: Taika Waititi and Mike Waldron).
Retconning stories and completely ignoring or forgetting details (ex: Loki's story of abuse and trauma. Thor's golden heart, Odin being a bitch), or just SKIPPING plot that would have been 10000% more interest than what they offer because their Out Of Character shit is more entertaining to them (The whole Strange and Mordo plot ending in a one mention sentence).
They ended up making everything so fucking BLAND because nowadays they don't value analysing media nor the fans they got because they find it easier to make stuff that'd keep children entertained. (And even then, children also deserve good storytelling. They're also tired of the constant jokes).
It is VERY telling that the characters they screw over are either abuse victims or disabled. They only care if it's a female character
I (Marvel fan) hate Marvel so much I could 100% go on hours about it.
marvel flailing and trying to stay relevant by playing the old hits and hoping people who never got over that shit to pay to watch whatever shit new franchise of shit movies they make. like oh no way rdj is back? wow who would've thought, the rest of the avengers and then some are all back? wow they must really like marvel. no other reason dont think about twice stop
