May I ask for more details about your Mario AU? Namely, the sequence of events leading up to Mario trying to fight Antasma alone after Luigi was attacked with nightmares? I live for Protective Big Brother Mario. ❤
Sure! So, in this au, Mario and Luigi are monster hunters. "Monsters" here being undead creatures such as boos and dry bones. They're known and admired as heroes all over the kingdons. One day, they were called to Roseway, a town in one of the northern kingdons, to fight a seemingly magic-induced plague of nightmares. There they met the legend of the bat king Antasma, ruler of nightmares. While part of the town saw him as a just a tale to scare children, others very much believed he was real and alive. So the brothers started to search, aided by bowser and peach. Turns out Antasma was real. And, rather than of nightmares, he fed of fear - normally causing that fear with nightmares, which caused that misconception. And he could sense fear much like some bats can sort of sense blood. So he took interest in the brothers. Mainly in Mario. Why? Because they were brave in different ways. Luigi was always scared, yet stayed and fought no matter how much his knees were shaking. Mario, on the other hand, seemed to know no fear. He was never truly scared. And Antasma wanted to feed on the fear of the man who was never scared. It would be the finest meal he would ever feast on. So he took advantage of mario's impulsive nature and put a curse on Luigi, plaguing him with nightmares. And Mario rushed to fight him as soon as he knew that was his fault, no matter how much Peach warned him not to go unprepared and alone.
After that goes terribly wrong, I guess Mario stays as Antasma's prisioner until his friends (led by a very angry Luigi) attack the castle and beat the crap out of the stupid bat

I can imagine that Luke and Maya would enjoy pulling pranks on Phoenix and Hershel!
Hah, that's adorable! Personally, I think Maya would love to pull pranks on Nick on every possible ocasion, when she realizes she has a (temporarily) ghost friend who can make stuff float or disappear and things like that. And I think Luke would be a little nervous at first, afraid of upsetting Wright, but as soon as he gets closer to him he would enjoy helping Maya. But. Luke would be SO nervous if the target was Layton. And Maya would soon realize Layton is so annoyingly OP he just kinda predicts the pranks and silently avoids them. So they keep targeting Nick. Who eventually gets tired of this and asks Luke to help him prank Maya this time. So the three just kind of get locked in an eternal war while Hershel calmly drinks his tea in the corner, completely unnafected.
I absolutely love your Asterix fanarts, your designs are so creative :D (and fantastic as well, I'm still swooning over your Caesar and his piercing eyes ❤)

Thanks a lot! I've read this series since I was like, ten, and it was very fun to rediscover it with the fandom mindset. (and yeah sadly i simp for stupid Julius so i had to do him justice)
About headcanons, hmm, most of them are very spefic for some fic I plan with a buddy of mine and would be a little complicated to explain here. But I do have some I can:
- The potion works a little different for every gaul. For example: Asterix gets very faster since he's so small, but beacuse of that he's not very resistent and can be trown away easily. - and on that note: you know that one scene in the mansion of gods movie where everyone shines in a different color when they drink the potion? I think it would be cool if everyone had some cool glowing markings, war-paint style, too, that vary among them (asterix's would be lighting-shaped and fulliautmatix's woul be fire-shaped, for example) which i started drawing but haven't finished yet but I'll post it here someday. probably - Asterix and Obelix are the only one who have permanent markings. Obelix because "fell into the cauldron" reasons and Asterix because he drinks too much of the potion. But they only shine when they fight. - If you drink two consecutive doses of the potion, that leaves you twice as strong, but you'll get a terrible fever or worse after. So Getafix recommend strongly that this should be avoided at all costs.
and now i'll just trow some headcanons for my ship under the cut and leave-
- Asterix and Cacofonix started dating after Asterix the Gladiator because I'm an etternal sucker for rescue stories in romance - Asterix is ace - And they kind of adopted Pectine because she may be a movie only character but I love that girl. Also, since Getafix acts like her grandpa and i see asterix as his pretty much son, this is only a logical step. Also also, it is stated in the golden sickle that Cacofonix is one of the teachers in the village so he would know her well as a student. Anyways. This hc just make me very happy
Honestly, as a french person who read the Asterix comics when I was, like, maybe 6 ? I had no idea that there was an Asterix fandom ! I just kind of considered it a part of our culture ? X) But your fanarts are extremely cool and my my, I might see the comics in a whole other light if I ever read them again 👀
Thanks for the compliment :D I had no idea there was a fandom too! Here in Brazil they’re considerably known, I’d say, but not nearly close of how It’s there in french heheh.
I never expected to see these comics with “fandom eyes” myself but as I was rereading I was thinking about how cool the setting is for adventure and how good and full of personality the characters are? There’s surprisingly a lot to work with. Heck, I even started to read one of my dad’s History books about Rome to get ideas!
So do you write at all, or are all your stories in comic form? I'm just curious. :)
I do like to write, mostly random scenes from my AUs. I never post them mainly because I write in portuguese and would have to translate and also bc I NEVER manage to write something with a start, middle and ending, just out-of-order scenes (and some one-shots). But if I ever sit to write a complete fic, I'd probably translate and post that. I'm considering doing that to my laywright au (with heavy emphasis on the considering part.)

But I'm curious about your thoughts on this, from the little I know from the show it seems like it would make for a cool au! Who would be Wanda and who would be Vision?

Now that I've seen that fic about the Mario AU, I want to do one of my own about Bowser (and Junior if he exists in this AU, even slightly.) So, a question- how exactly did Bowser get infected by that curse?
That's cool! I haven't drawn Junior but he does exist. And I'll admit, I didn't think much about Bowser's curse... As far as I tought, he made a deal with Antasma, when the bat king was weaker and still regaining his power. But Bowser betrayed Antasma, which enraged him, so the first thing he did when stronger was to curse the heck out of Bowser. I also imagine his curse grows over time, like, it started as a skeleton hand and then it got spreading, and if he becomes full skeleton he won't be able to change back.
But, as I said, I haven't tought much, so honestly feel free to change everything if you want

thing is, I think he's actually tall in his own series (at least, he seems taller than most of the characters) but when in aceattorneyland he's suddenly super short compared to the normal-anime-sized characters and I find that beautiful
Consider: Hershel is the perfect height for Phoenix to kiss him on the forehead

Okay Laywright au idea. Layton is still an archeologist but he's exploring and studying a ruin. He comes across some sort of coffin/tomb/prison thingy. Of course Layton opens it and out pops this man. He's dressed in ancient garb and is very confused. He's definitely some sort of God or at least a human with fantastical powers.
But people, idk who yet it's 3 am, are after Pheonix and so Layton helps him hide. And there's action and love. And pheonix gets to use special powers to protect Layton and its very sweet. And whether a choice to give uo his powers/godlyhood or live a mortal life with Layton. He obviously chooses Layton and it's sweet
YO THIS IS A GOD TIER IDEA!!
Maybe Phoenix could be an actual Phoenix with a human form, and he can grow cool wings and feathers and claws and has fire powers and he is very powerful in fact, but a bit clumsy (and being asleep for who knows how long sure doesn't help) so sometimes he'll end up transforming into a little chicken phoenix and his awesome soon-to-be boyfriend protects him with his legendary fencing moves until he transforms back.
Maybe he was from a civilization contemporary to the Azran. And maybe Maya is a descendant from this civilization, and her lineage had the duty of guiding the phoenix when he wakes up. So she teams up with Layton and Phoenix (and why not make Luke Hershel's archaelogy student? Now the team is complete).
And maybe Targent could be after Phoenix lead by Bronev or other Layton villain but there are also some Ace Attorney villains like Von Karma and Dahlia (Idk I think it would be so awesome to see Hershel and Manfred fighting sword vs whip)
Anyways thanks for the awesome concept, maybe I'll draw stuff for it one of these days, and if anyone else wants to add to this I'd love to see it :D
(Also I think Phoenix would be able to heal himself but he could also heal others sooo fluffy scenes of him taking care of wounded Layton)
(Also also maybe Phoneix adopts the surname "Wright" to help disguise as a human and he probably picks this one in order to make puns about being "right")
