 Sooo I’ve been with this AU in my mind and used it to practice some lineless art  AU concept: Basically a Dracula inspired Mario AU in which Mario and Luigi are monster hunters who fight horror movie types of creatures such as boos and dry bones.  Peach was born as royalty, but went to live as a priestess of the stars.  Bowser is the respected ruler of a town who suffered a curse and is turning into an undead, and now needs the brothers’ help.  Antasma is the Dracula of the AU, living in a hidden castle and feeding of the people’s nightmares, while waiting to fully regain his power and conquer the dream world. I intend to post more of this in the future. Hope you liked it :)

So here’s more of my Mario AU! This time, the bean prince. Here he became a  city’s noble guard captain, protecting it from all evil things. He and Peach were best friends since childhood and studied together  (also I’ve been playing superstar saga and man do I ship Peasley and Luigi now.)  Also, thanks a lot everyone for the feedback on the last post! I have some more drawings of this AU I did as background practice and will be posting them here as soon as they’re finished.   till the next time, bye!

Got any headcanons for this au antasma?

 Yes! As far as I can remember, in dream team Antasma only fed of people’s nightmares, right? I like to think he actually feeds of fear, which he normally gets by messing with his victims’ dreams and turning them into nightmares.  He can also sense even the most subtle signs of fear by hearing the heartbeats, rush of the blood, and trembling of a creature. And while he normally preys on scared people, it’s the fear of the brave ones that serves as the finest food to him - Which makes him form a closer rivalry with Mario here, since Antasma hardly ever feels any fear from him. He takes it as a personal challenge to scare the hero. ((sorry for my messy english I tried))

 So I had to do some composition/background exercises and decided to use my mario au. This took very long but hey I’m happy with how it turned out!   Here, Mario and Peach see each other for the first time in (i guess) months and she is very happy to guide him through the streets of Rosetown. Ah, love is in the air.  also my photos keep getting more desaturated when I post them hhhhhh (update i changed to .jpeg now it’s not desaturated yeeyyy)   I have skethces for four more scenes, will finalize at least one more, will probably take a long time, anyways, bye and take care

 And here’s another scene from my Mario au!   After Antasma attacked Luigi with nighmares, Mario dares to defy the bat king all alone to protect his brother! Will he succeed?    No, he won’t. Mario stop being dumb and throwing yourself at danger and just run and call your party to help. You can’t just try to defeat the final boss alone halfway through the story-

Mario is Jack Frost except instead of frost and snow it’s f I r e :)))))))

yeah! If Jack Frost is the spirit of fun with playing in the snow and all, Mario in this au is the spirit of the warmth and confort of a fireplace, of home and family and this sort of stuff. The protective and friendly side of fire 

In the Rise Of the Guardians AU, does Antasma 'die' in the same way that his movie counterpart does? (Also, does he have a backstory in this AU?)

 About his death, I think he goes down in an AWESOME FINAL BATTLE with the brothers, who finally learned to properly combine their powers! (while the other guardians fight his army of minions.)  but after that he could die like in the movie, I think it would maybe fit.

 And about a backstory, well, I think unlike the other guardians, he wasn’t a human before (or a toad or beanish or whatever), but an ancestral spirit old as fear itself that grew more powerful overtime until he became the king of nightmares. But I’m open to suggestions on that

So I have seen your RotG Mario Au and I honestly think its amazing. I especially like Peach taking Norths place because it just kinda fits and I love it

May I ask for more details about your Mario AU? Namely, the sequence of events leading up to Mario trying to fight Antasma alone after Luigi was attacked with nightmares? I live for Protective Big Brother Mario. ❤

Sure! So, in this au, Mario and Luigi are monster hunters. "Monsters" here being undead creatures such as boos and dry bones. They're known and admired as heroes all over the kingdons. One day, they were called to Roseway, a town in one of the northern kingdons, to fight a seemingly magic-induced plague of nightmares. There they met the legend of the bat king Antasma, ruler of nightmares. While part of the town saw him as a just a tale to scare children, others very much believed he was real and alive. So the brothers started to search, aided by bowser and peach. Turns out Antasma was real. And, rather than of nightmares, he fed of fear - normally causing that fear with nightmares, which caused that misconception. And he could sense fear much like some bats can sort of sense blood. So he took interest in the brothers. Mainly in Mario. Why? Because they were brave in different ways. Luigi was always scared, yet stayed and fought no matter how much his knees were shaking. Mario, on the other hand, seemed to know no fear. He was never truly scared. And Antasma wanted to feed on the fear of the man who was never scared. It would be the finest meal he would ever feast on. So he took advantage of mario's impulsive nature and put a curse on Luigi, plaguing him with nightmares. And Mario rushed to fight him as soon as he knew that was his fault, no matter how much Peach warned him not to go unprepared and alone.

After that goes terribly wrong, I guess Mario stays as Antasma's prisioner until his friends (led by a very angry Luigi) attack the castle and beat the crap out of the stupid bat

 Hi guys! I took a little break from drawing and am now working on a fanart project, which I’ll (probably) start posting when it’s ready enough. For now, here’s an unrelated old concept for that Dracula au of mine bc I just tought it would be very cool to have plague doctor Mario fighting Antasma.  And as a bit of lore: Luigi is a musician in this au. He usually plays the cello. Mario has that red mushroom symbol in his arm becaus it’s the symbol of life, of doctors, while Luigi has a green one as it’s the symbol of the soul, of artists.

Now that I've seen that fic about the Mario AU, I want to do one of my own about Bowser (and Junior if he exists in this AU, even slightly.) So, a question- how exactly did Bowser get infected by that curse?

That's cool! I haven't drawn Junior but he does exist. And I'll admit, I didn't think much about Bowser's curse... As far as I tought, he made a deal with Antasma, when the bat king was weaker and still regaining his power. But Bowser betrayed Antasma, which enraged him, so the first thing he did when stronger was to curse the heck out of Bowser. I also imagine his curse grows over time, like, it started as a skeleton hand and then it got spreading, and if he becomes full skeleton he won't be able to change back.

But, as I said, I haven't tought much, so honestly feel free to change everything if you want
