Atla Series - Tumblr Posts

not me sobbing over literally any interaction between Zuko and Iroh in the live action series.

absolutely not bawling my eyes out when they hug.

or when Iroh makes comments to let Zuko have an out or an emotional escape route.

or when Iroh visited Zuko in the infirmary after he got his scar.

especially not at the funeral scene no sir i have a perfectly fine relationship with my father (/hj)

exactly!!! It's an ADAPTATION and it won't be the exact same, but it still was (in my opinion) very enjoyable to watch! You can tell that the people who worked on it were all fans, and it shines through!!! At the end of the day, it's about passion and love for the project, and I think they hit that nail on the head.

ATLA fans need to realize that ATLA isn't and never was perfect. The first episode is really awkward at times. Some of the plots are weird and some weird things happen. Everyone will disagree on what plots are relevant or are unnecessary or are good or bad. But some things were just not the best idk what to tell you. And the animation wasn't top notch either. That doesn't mean the show isn't good and isn't really fucking good and it doesn't mean you can't like it. Nothing is perfect and when you strive for perfection in shows you will be disappointed. Imperfections is what gives things their charm!!

You literally can't hold the live action series to ATLAs standard because ATLA isn't perfect and if they made everything exactly the same it wouldn't turn out well. You have to let this new show have it's own flaws and charms and if you don't like your favourite show being adapted and it makes you angry when they change things then don't watch it because that's bad for your health

God this post was poetic

The thing about Katara is that she was angry.

She was angry that the Fire Nation killed her mother.

She was angry that her father left them.

She was angry that she was the only Waterbender left in the south pole.

She was angry that the only person her age was her brother, who constantly disregarded her interests and her role in the tribe.

She was angry that what little waterbending she knew, had to be self-taught and how she struggled with that.

she was angry that a twelve year old instantly picked up what had taken her a long time to learn.

she was also angry that her tribe wanted to kick that twelve year old into the wilderness over a mistake.

she was angry over the earth-benders the fire nation had captured and put into a metal box.

she was angry.

And she knew she was angry.

Because she knew her own anger, she was the first to empathize with Aang when he got angry.

And it was because of it she could tell Aang forcing himself to lock his emotions up was not the answer.

Because she knew her own anger, she kept herself under control in the dessert, when everyone else was a mess.

Her anger empowered her. where anger was a tool of self-destruction for firebenders, for her it was what helped her push forward.

It was her anger that freed Aang.

It was her anger that helped her stand to Pakku.

Her anger was her strenght.

She was angry. And this was neither a mistake, nor a writing flaw.
