Adding to this ship because I saw the movie and now I’m properly obsessed. I got major Gomez vibes off of Betelgeuse the entire film so I did a little comic of them as Morticia and Gomez (Addams Family). Hope y’all like, more to come ✌️
The only thing I didn’t like in the Beetlejuice 2 movie was the weird out off place demonbaby.
It hade no purpose in the movie and it was only their for being weird.
It didn’t add anything in the story.
I love that Beetlejuice still wants to marry Lydia and that he was pinning so hard for her that he has a picture of her on his desk!!!

Beetlejuice is a very interesting franchise. If you go by its main parts, then these are two films (1988 and 2024), an animated series from the nineties, and a musical. I at least touched all three components, and the view of different people on the same characters is quite funny (to be precise, on Beetlejuice and Lydia). The first film, not to mention the very idea of ghost and teenage girl getting married, contained a deleted part of the script, which indicated that BJ's interest in Lydia isn't only platonic. I haven't watched the second film at all, although I plan to go to the cinema at least for the sake of the idea of sequel with Lydia's daughter, played by Jenna Ortega. I started watching the animated series, and the situation is literally the opposite. BJ is Lydia's best friend, and they are very protective of each other. The animation there is also charming. The musical attracted me to the actors, because they are cute. Also a great performance of "Say My Name". But here the theme of love for life is raised much more, and it's definitely possible to work with it. Yes, I want to get to the pairing one day.
And again about Christina Ricci. I think it would be funny to write a crossover between "Casper" and "Beetlejuice 2". Now that the two films are one universe, an older Kat has married Casper, so he's now human (if I understand the rules correctly). They are the same age because they somehow learned about this rule shortly after the events of the film. Lydia tells Astrid (and Beetlejuice, who is still with them) that her distant relative Kat, whom she last saw in the nineties, is coming to visit them. There will definitely be a lot of jokes about loving ghosts here.
