I’m like 90% convinced it won’t happen but I love the idea of Hiori forming a rivalry with Sae. Obviously Sae right now is a better Hiori (or more accurately, Hiori is a worse Sae) and they’re canonically very similar in terms of mindset and skill set. Obviously Hiori is nowhere near Sae’s level right now but I would love it if in his mission to ‘produce’ the greatest striker, he started pushing to become a threat to Sae’s position as THE midfielder of Blue Lock as a series.
And to make it about hiorin because my name dictates that I must, having Rin’s and Hiori’s goals somewhat align with them both being connected to Sae for different reasons would be a giant plus in my book any day, plus if they worked together it could be framed as a challenge to Sae’s mentality that Rin isn’t good enough. It could also open the door for Sae and Isagi to work together as a duo more instead of Isagi just sticking with Hiori, placing the Isagi x Sae duo against the Rin x Hiori duo in a ‘battle of mentalities’ so to speak, which I think would be cool.
