Bluewater Challenge 2016 - Tumblr Posts

Mickey came in to check on Tara after the fire.  He decided to go back to sitting on the counter and supervising.  Clearly his sim is not capable of doing stuff on her own.

And then that first pop up showed up on the screen.  To be honest, I had completely forgotten that Faline was pregnant. I thought I ran the pregnancy scanner at the start of the round, but apparently I didn’t.  Pets don’t have any pregnancy symptoms (at least that I’ve seen) so I didn’t realize this was happening until it...happened.  

Welcome Domino, Dusky, Dixie, and Daisy, four black kittens.  There are now 11 cats in the household!  Thank goodness for the larger households mod!  (Or maybe not...the rules say we can’t give away any of the cats, so there will now be 11 cats in this house until Tara dies.  Maybe I’m the crazy one here...) 

I don’t know if that’s all the same kitten or different ones, but let’s pretend that Tara loved on all four of the new babies. 

The new kittens greeted the slightly older ones while Mama Faline watched. 

Tara gave Cheech a bit of attention to let him know that he wasn’t forgotten now that he had kittens.  Samantha found her old catnip addiction again.  I love the colors of the stars! 

Jareth called to invite Tara downtown again. This time he brought Kenton and two other sims.  The blonde there is Lyra Lawrence and the guy in the bowling shirt is Tyson Honeycutt. They all had dinner together. 

Tara and Jareth danced a bit after dinner and then she invited him home.  I’m pretty sure Tumblr will flag this post if I show you what they did next, but I’m sure you can guess. I may or may not have clicked “Try for Baby” and there may or may not have been a lullaby...

This challenge really makes you wonder who’s actually crazy - the sim or the simmer. 

In any case, Jareth moved in with about $6000 and he and Tara will probably get married next round. 

And, since he’s officially joined the household, let’s officially meet Jareth Klein (soon to be Jareth Kat).  He is a Family sim as well, and his personality is almost exactly the same as Tara’s which explains why they get along so well. I’m not sure he’s going to be the most interesting spouse in the world, but since the focus of this challenge is the cats, he doesn’t really matter.  (Sorry, Jareth!) 

And we’ll end with a final picture of all the kitties.  Or most of them.  I think I missed one black kitten.  It’s hard to see them on that dark tile floor.  (I don’t know why they were all gathered in the bathroom like that...you can’t explain cats...) Eleven cats is a lot, but I can’t wait to see what all our kittens grow into! 

That’s the end of the Kat round.  I’ll admit, I didn’t go back and look at what happened last time before starting this one, and I didn’t review the rules of the challenge either.  (That’s why Tara spent a lot more than three hours off the lot both times she went out.  Not a huge rule break, I don’t think, but yeah...) 

I also didn’t take 50 bazillion pictures of the cats this time around.  In my defense, it’s hard to keep track of them, and so many of them are teeny baby kitties, so it’s hard to get the camera down to their level.  But it does mean that I don’t have any extra pictures for this Thoughts post.  Sorry! 

The round was fairly easy.  I think I played the majority of it in a couple of hours.  I don’t tend to do a lot of Plot with this household, so that’s typical.  

I did like having Jareth bring other sims out to meet Tara. I love the idea of Kenton being his stepdad who wanted to see what was going on with his stepson.  It gives Jareth a bit more personality.  I’ll probably try to keep Kenton, and the other sims who came with them to the second dinner, around as friends for the Kats.  Maybe they’ll try to invite their friends over for the wedding? Or a dinner party?  With Tara’s poor cooking skills and the multitude of cats, that could be interesting.

I woke up last weekend and wanted to play Sims again.  I played around with a different neighborhood that I don’t feel like sharing for about a week, and then today I started thinking about Bluewater again.  

Since the last time I posted, I’ve taken a lot of CC out of my game.  I’ve put in default replacements instead of a lot of the hairs and clothes I had.  The sims may look different.  I’m going to finish Round 3 - there’s just the Kims and Melody Tinker at college left - and then I will see about jumping into Round 4.

The Kims are technically doing an Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge, but I kind of decided to throw most of the rules out the window.  (Specifically this time around, I threw out the “no service sims” rule.  These guys need a maid, a gardener, and a nanny.  You will see why.)

Currently, the family consists of Cynthia, her husband Robert, their adopted son Justin, their newborn daughter Barbara, and the family dog, Gabby.  Cynthia is kind of conniving.  Robert is madly in love with her and otherwise kind of a vacant derp. Justin is the only one with his act together (and he’s 11). Barbara is too new to have a personality yet. Gabby the dog is a dog.  

This was the state of the household when I opened the lot.  Justin fell asleep in the couch, his parents just got done trying for another baby, their current baby woke up stinky, and the dog slept through it all.  

The Kims aren’t the most hands-on parents.  Robert mostly complained about how stinky little Barb was.  I’m fairly sure I had to tell Cynthia to take care of the issue.  How these two are going to manage having two more after Barb I don’t know...

Justin isn’t eligible to be the family heir, since he was adopted, but he’s got an important job to do anyways.  He is the dog trainer.  He worked with Gabby to learn to speak that morning before going outside to ask his mom something.

Justin wanted to get another dog so that Gabby could have a boyfriend.  He convinced Cynthia to go with him to the pet store to buy another Dalmatian.  

Meet Flash - a Dalmatian like Gabby but with a slightly different pattern.  He wasn’t a big fan of Cynthia, but he and Justin got on right away. 

Flash warmed up to Cynthia a bit on the way home.  He and Gabby seem to get along (although I noticed that she would Challenge him on some things - like which dish he could eat out of). 

Good job, Robert.  Step over the baby to make your sandwich.  Nice parenting.
