Malcolm had to make out with the final girls tonight.

Bella: *cries*
Cynthia: Bella, sweetie! Come sit down.
Bella: *cries some more*
After a break
Cynthia: Oh, sweetie, I am so, so sorry! I can’t imagine how you’re feeling right now.
Bella: I...love...him...He made me...fall in love with him...and then...he broke my heart! *wails*
Cynthia: I know, I know...
Bella: I just wish I had never done this show. I didn’t realize it would be this hard!

This is it, the final day. Today it comes down to Charlotte Worthington or Penny Pizzazz. Who will Malcolm choose as his future wife?

Breakfast was slightly awkward. Everyone knows that there’s a lot at stake today and they’re all nervous.

Three flirts, including a serenade. Malcolm and Charlotte are in love.

Malcolm and Penny are also in love.

This is it. The big moment. Malcolm looks at the two beautiful ladies sitting on his couch. He takes a deep breath, steps forward, and --

"And then you'll finally get down on one knee, in front of the woman of your dreams, and you'll say--"
"Okay, hold it!" Malcolm held up a hand, stopping Sylvia Marie mid-sentence. "I already told you, I don't want to do a reality show. I don't want your help. Why can't you leave me alone?" Malcolm slammed a fist down on the desk. "Why can't everyone please just leave me alone?"
"Sorry, sweetie," Cynthia said. She reached out and tried to touch his arm but he pulled away. "We just want you to feel better, and we don't want you to lose what your family has worked so hard for. We thought this was a way to do it."
Malcolm sighed heavily and said nothing. Cynthia and Sylvia Marie exchanged looks, then stood and left the study.

"Wait!"
Cynthia and Sylvia Marie turned, looking hopeful.
"There might be one way you could help me out," Malcolm said. "Do you remember a while back you mentioned you knew a good lawyer?"

Surprise! I don’t know if you saw the twist coming or not, but I had a lot of fun creating Malcolm’s Bachelor challenge and then pulling the rug out from under everything at the last minute. For the record, I think he would have chosen Charlotte. She was only about 5 points ahead of Penny in relationship points and they really seemed to have a connection. But, of course, it was all a pitch cooked up by Cynthia and Sylvia Marie, so none of it actually happened.
Look below the cut for more about how I played the bachelor challenge. There aren’t any extra pictures, but I got a little wordy (to no one’s surprise). If you don’t feel like reading, I won’t be hurt. Round 3 will start soon and I will see you there!
I played the entirety of the Bachelor challenge in a copy of Bluewater, now officially called Bluewater Extras. (I’m not sure if I’ll need it for any future staging purposes, but it’ll be nice to have it around.)
I tried to just let everything go naturally and keep the sims on free will, but when I had to start having Malcolm queue up flirts with each girl and he kept wandering off, I turned off everyone’s free will. I also made use of teleportation so that it didn’t take forever for sims to climb up and down the stairs in that giant house, and I actually locked a bunch of the rooms there so the sims wouldn’t wander everywhere. I wish now that I hadn’t put in so many chess tables because that and the hot tubs were all they wanted to use...
I’d never played a bachelor challenge before. It was surprisingly quick to play (once I turned off free will). I wanted to add a lot more drama and make it more like a TV show (like I did at the beginning of the challenge) but it just didn’t work...I did try with Cynthia’s little bits with each of the eliminated girls, but I never got the spirit of those first few posts back.
I hope you still enjoyed the whole romp. My favorite part was the ending, but that was mostly because I knew the twist from the start and was wickedly delighted by it. What was your favorite part?

The Kims are technically doing an Officially Wacky Boolprop Challenge, but I kind of decided to throw most of the rules out the window. (Specifically this time around, I threw out the “no service sims” rule. These guys need a maid, a gardener, and a nanny. You will see why.)
Currently, the family consists of Cynthia, her husband Robert, their adopted son Justin, their newborn daughter Barbara, and the family dog, Gabby. Cynthia is kind of conniving. Robert is madly in love with her and otherwise kind of a vacant derp. Justin is the only one with his act together (and he’s 11). Barbara is too new to have a personality yet. Gabby the dog is a dog.

This was the state of the household when I opened the lot. Justin fell asleep in the couch, his parents just got done trying for another baby, their current baby woke up stinky, and the dog slept through it all.

The Kims aren’t the most hands-on parents. Robert mostly complained about how stinky little Barb was. I’m fairly sure I had to tell Cynthia to take care of the issue. How these two are going to manage having two more after Barb I don’t know...

Justin isn’t eligible to be the family heir, since he was adopted, but he’s got an important job to do anyways. He is the dog trainer. He worked with Gabby to learn to speak that morning before going outside to ask his mom something.

Justin wanted to get another dog so that Gabby could have a boyfriend. He convinced Cynthia to go with him to the pet store to buy another Dalmatian.

Meet Flash - a Dalmatian like Gabby but with a slightly different pattern. He wasn’t a big fan of Cynthia, but he and Justin got on right away.

Flash warmed up to Cynthia a bit on the way home. He and Gabby seem to get along (although I noticed that she would Challenge him on some things - like which dish he could eat out of).

Good job, Robert. Step over the baby to make your sandwich. Nice parenting.

Cynthia picked up the baby and played with her for a bit...and then put her right back down on the floor. A+ parenting here, guys. A+.

Of course, since they’re so great at taking care of baby Barbara, Cynthia and Robert decided that it was definitely time to make another baby. Chimes were heard.
