Summary: A party on the beach for Halloween has no way of going wrong. Unless you take in consideration the monster hiding in the water, waiting for his prey to creep into his territory. It just seems that he decided that you are his prey for the night and he is going to torture you in the most delicious way possible.

One thing that you loved the most was the sea. You would take every opportunity to spend some time on the beach. So, when you found out that there was a Halloween beach party happening down at your favorite hangout place, you were the first one to jump at the opportunity.
There was just something so special about the sea, especially the sea at night, it’s just so calming. Combine that with your favorite holiday, you were probably more excited than a kid on her 16th birthday. You were also dragging along your sister with you, mainly because you felt bad just leaving her alone on Halloween. Like, come on, it’s Halloween, time to get drunk, hunt some ghosts and get scared. What is not to love?
“You know I don’t like the beach and I don’t either like Halloween, why are you dragging me along?”
“You must be such a sad individual,” you sigh dramatically as you hand her one of the red cups after checking that it’s not drugged.
“I’m not sad, you are just weird, who the hell swims in the fall?”
That’s only slightly true, even taking into consideration that it was the end of October, the water was still surprisingly warm. You have yet to find out how warm it was during the night, but you are not backing away. Considering that winter is approaching and the only thing that is going to be close to swimming was taking a long bath in your bathroom, you are trying to make the most of it.
“I swear you were a mermaid in another life,” she sighs as she tasks sips from her drink.
“That must explain why I have such a fabulous hair,” you throw your hair over your shoulder to drive-in the point.
You manage to get a chuckle out of her so you are satisfied with that. You head towards the bonfire and take a seat on the sand, basking in the heat in front of you instead of focusing on how cold the sand is.

"Not beating the ___ allegations" is such a 'now' turn of phrase, implying as it does a world where everyone's behavior is always on literal trial by a guilt-presuming judge and jury that consists of anyone who happens to be paying attention.
