i mean-
"he delivers fish to the penguins like a fish"
Describing Juniper doing something, and then adding "like a fish" will never not be top notch comedy to me
"junipers mouth open and closed like a fish, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't"
"Flopping around the bed like a fish"
"Juniper’s hand slapped the back of Rowan’s shoulder like a wet fish"
"he got up and did a little jig, like a fish"

Hi, so my best friend @birdbutbetter I came up with this theory surrounding what might happen with camp here and there in the coming seasons. Next steps for camp here and there are going to be big ones, but none of us know what’s going to happen for sure, which is why we began theorising.
be warned, this is incredibly long and very, very scattered.
First things first, we’re going to start with our boy Jeddiah. We know that, through some way involving the knowledge of Sydney’s revival, Jeddidah has accidentally killed his father. Btu what about everything else? What is he working on? What is his past? What the hell did he do to revive sydney? How the hell did he end up killing him? This man’s moral compass is surrounded by magnets.
Sydney and Jeddiah, as of episode 34, are dating! Gay rights! Anyways, they have some issues, most of them being the fact that Jedidiah nearly killed sydney, and then did kill sydney and then revived him, and then proceeded to ignore him for a whole fucking year, which, of course, destroyed him.
Now, Sydney and Elijah have a complicated relationship. Sydney desperately wants to be loved, and Elijah loves Sydney but not as a person, as a muse. There’s also some issues when he tries to burn Sydney in a pyre, but we’ll get to that later.
Now, the relationship between Elijah and jedediah is interesting, because they knew each other when Sydney was in hospital, but not by name. Elijah seems to know a creepy amount about jedediah, calling him the clockmaker and knowing where his journals are.
Now here’s where we get into the theory bit, and it starts with a leap of faith.
I have serious reason to believe that Jedidiah and Sydney are gods, and that they will destroy each other. Here’s why.
Let’s start with clocks, and the episode that everything was slow. Better known as The Reality of Hallucination.
In this episode, something of jedidah’s breaks when he’s away and time begins to slow down and distort. Eventually, Jedidah, with the help of the Tonys, fixes whatever broke and time returns to normal.
Interesting part about this is the fact that we can hear what breaks, and it sounds like a clock. This is pretty straightforward, clocks tell time. The fun part is, we don’t know which clock this is, as it’s implied that Jedidiah has several clocks, but it’s very likely that it would be the cardinal clock, which we will get back too.
Part of this that also adds on is the fact that Elijah can only see himself in the face of the old grandfather clock he stole from lucille. We have no clue if this clock is important anywhere else, but because of the fact that it’s on several sweaters depicting the grandfather clock surrounded in fire in the camp here and there store, I’m going to go on a whim and say it is. There’s something else to say that the whole cover image of champ here and there is an hourglass, another time-telling tool, one that tells you that time is running out.
Also the whole thing with Joshua being stopped in a time loop that one time, in The Hunt of the Clock. Jeddiah solved that in less than a day, which is really impressive and almost… superhuman?
Side note: We’re going to completely forget about up and Adam, good soul, but I’m sure he has plenty of foreshadowing we won’t see until the very end. I am very lazy.
Now, let’s get onto the birds. What the fuck is up with those birds?
Bird symbolism isn’t uncommon, especially in modern literature. Crows are used everywhere, as symbols for death and peace. What’s important for this specific bit, is that the main characters, with the exception of elijah volkov, all have symbolic birds.
Luceelle’s is pretty straightforward, hers is an owl. She’s wise, but keeps to herself.
But I am specifically interested in jedediah and Sydney’s birds.
Jediddah’s bird is a red cardinal. Cardinals are important in this sense, for two reasons. Number one, the old saying that when a cardinal appears in your yard, it’s a visitor from heaven. Sydney was dead, but he’s not anymore, so the visitor can’t be him. Who else could it be?
The second one being the clock. Remember the cardinal clock i was talking about, in jeddiah’s study? The one that tells when people die? I actually can’t find any information about this on the wiki, so I really hope I didn’t just dream this up or was psychically contacted by someone.
But there’s a clock that tells you when you’ll die. Yay! And it’s decorated with the bird of jedediah martin, the clockmaker, the architect, and as far as we know, the only true necromancer in the world.
Yay!
Let’s talk about Sydney October Sargent and his symbolic bird, the blue jay.
Blue Jays symbolise, quote, “everything from strength to confidence to communication, depending on the context in which you see them.”
This little tidbit of information is concerning, especially because strength, confidence and especially communication are all things that Sydney has struggled with in the past.
Blue jays have tight familial bonds, and often mate for life. They’re incredibly intelligent and can mimic the calls of other birds.
Because of their intelligence and social need, a lonely bluejay is a very destructive bluejay, both to itself and its surroundings.
This sounds way too familiar.
We should talk about Sydney Sargent himself. He’s weird, he’s cool, and he desperately needs a good long hug. He grows vines from his fingernails and thinks mushrooms are superior to people.
Which leads me to think that Sydney is some sort of god of the forest, asking for help or, perhaps, maybe the result of someone helping.
We all know about Sydney’s declining health, and the struggles he faced maintaining it. We also know that forests age and decay and rot over time.
If Jedidiah is some sort of god of time, and Sydney is some sort of god of the forest, this leads to some issues, because forests can’t grow without time. Time will move on if it doesn’t have a forest.
Not to mention, his initials literally mean S.O S? He’s a cry for help, or is crying for help.
Also, Sydney has monologued about a centipede, several times, and there is a centipede on his desk, in resin. Centipedes are symbols of good luck and good health, and live for up to seven years. That’s a lot longer than most insects.
At the end of the episode of the counsellor olympics, Sydney even says “There is a clear block of resin on my desk with a centipede inside. He wants to swap places with me. Lately, I am tempted to let him.”
If jedediah is going to try to save Sydney again, really the only way would be to hold him in some kind of stasis, like a fancy cryogenic tank. Or, perhaps, a block of resin.
Jeddiah, in a fit of desperateness, could try to trap Sydney in his own little world of suffocating plastic. Sydney will be neither alive, nor dead, both and neither until you free him. He will be absolutely alone, whether he’s aware of that or not. Alone is the one thing he hates.
Of course, we also have the strange and magical government. Necromancy is incredibly illegal, but is stasis? Is the government after Jeddidiah? They obviously know where he is, but are they watching him? Is he a test subject, by accident? So much to think about and so little time.
My final point: the world’s messed up
We all know camp here and there is in Ohio, which already makes the situation a little bit strange, but everything else is just weird.
The gravediggress? The magical government? Elijah’s fervour enchantment thing?
The fact that they could begods and our world probably isn’t used to having gods in our plane of existance or at all is probably why the world is fucked up and the sky isnt blue!
And lets not forget about COUNCILLOR MARIE ANNE?? The poor girl wasn’t even at camp for a year and she got dismantled! Marie Anne deserves the world, honestly.
There’s too much evidence for at least part of this not to be not true, but I guess we’ll see.
I’m excited for season two!
Fundraiser For Blue
Hello, all.
There was a fundriaser started for Blue Mayfield, the founder of the podcast Camp Here and There. On January 21st, while he was moving his apartment, his van was broken into and he was robbed of almost $20,000 worth of items. This leaves him with no clothing and without the laptop used to create the podcast, almost 3 years of work and a steady income lost.
***UPDATE
the official fundraiser is now:
If you can donate anything, please do.
You can also donate to his paypal, if you'd like to directly support him.

I hope that Jedidiah and Sydney heal. They really need to sit down and talk to eachother. I believe that is a step towards getting better. Though, I am no psychologist. So I only have a small understanding of what is unfolding.
Like and reblog
Very very bad on purpose, I feel as if I had to say this. His hair would likely be the opposite of well kept as he was living in the woods behind a FUCKING SUMMER CAMP.
Y'know what. this isnt the weirdest thing I've read on ao3.
Drew this for a friend. I can't believe this took multiple hours Halloween in the middle of august. If you can have Christmas in July why can't I have Halloween in August?

it’s @podcastgirlsweek day 4: nobody understands her like I do… recognize a woman from a podcast you think is niche and/or underappreciated.
i am here with an extremely niche character to yap about :]
presenting……dolly navarro!!
never heard of her? that’s understandable. she’s a 14-year-old camper from camp here & there :>
dolly has no voice actor and is literally mentioned like three times. but i love her.
is it mainly because we have the same name and there are very few characters with the name dolly in the media i consume? maybe.
but i still think she’s super really cool.
she was the leader in the uprising against and subsequent mock execution of counselor juniper (who prolly deserved it), subsequently lost fingers, and is pretty good at astral projection.
her cabin, cabin dung beetle also has lead a full-out revolution against lucille (who also deserved it), have tried to blackmail juniper into stepping down, did really good in the water gun battle, won the tower-building contest, burned down their own cabin and declared that they were going to build their own camp across the lake.
conclusion: dolly navarro is really super cool :3
