What's your favorite scene of Chase and Omi? ๐

Um, while I pretty much like them all, I would have to say it's a tie between three scenes:
1. During the Sibini episode, when Chase first pats Omi's head. Because this is the first instance of this nasty, antisocial person reaching out to the sweet drop of sunshine and being the one to try to build a relationship. I really adore that, and how the loner/sunshine character dynamic is flipped onto its head.
2. When Chase tells Omi that there is always a place for Omi by his side. Chase has Omi in the palm of his hand at this point. It's blatant that there's not a whole lot Omi wouldn't do for Fung. Chase's plan was going off without a hitch, he was absolutely going to get Omi. Yet he still stopped to offer Omi the chance to join him, to make it clear that Omi would always have a place by his side. To me that underscores that Chase is actually sincere towards Omi.
3. When Omi and Chase meet again while Chase is in the torture device. So we don't actually know when Jack captured Chase. But Jack is a kid, and judging how old he is in that episode (easily 80s/90s), I think it's safe to say that Chase has been in that contraption for at least 50 years. So at the very least, 50 years of being tortured and he never gave up hope of seeing Omi again. To me that really shows how important Omi is to Chase. I think pretty much all of Time after Time shows how important Chase is to Omi, but that's the scene that confirms for me that Chase is just as invested, and holds him as close to his heart as Omi holds Chase.
An honorary mention is when he let's Omi kick off his staff, but he kicks Kimiko in the stomach and nails Raimundo in the crotch with his staff. I think it's another instance where you can see the regard Chase holds towards Omi. He's not looking to humiliate or injure Omi, and it's obvious that Omi is the exception because he clearly doesn't care about humiliating or injuring anyone else.
Poor Raimundo though, seriously. Chase didn't have to do him like that. ๐

I just read through all 5 chapters of your fic and I really like how you write the emotions in tense moments! Especially the scene where Chase saved Omi from Hannibal and the scene where season 1 Omi was hiding in fear.

On one hand I like to imagine that Omi will go the good!Chase route and just casually persist forever so that's my headcanon. But now that you mention it, I wonder how Chase would react to Omi dying someday.

Well, if you don't mind a shameless plug, I did write a variation of that idea in chapter five of my Xiaolin Showdown Short Stories, but I would very much recommend this story:

In your fic where Chase goes back in time/astral projects into his season 1 self after Omi dies, is the reason Chase goes back to a time a bit before he first met Omi because he wants to have more time with Omi this time around?
While Chase is certainly happy for more time with Omi, it's more that he didn't want them to have any idea who he was, and therefore have no way to be prepared against him.
My own personal headcanon is that, while they were clearly told offscreen at some point, the monks had no idea who Chase was in the first season. And after, quite likely never actually seeing hide or hair of Chase in their lifetimes, Fung and the elders also might not quite remember about him without a refresher. And Dojo probably forgot about him until he came face to face with him again.
But in this, Chase will definitely have more time with Omi. All the time in the world, as a matter of fact. ๐

In the chapter 5 short story, you mentioned there were 10 years post series before the incident happened, so I was wondering how close Omi and Chase got in those 10 years?
Like, it was to the point where if Omi wasn't training, or specifically hanging out with his friends, you could find him with Chase. Sparring or just hanging out, obviously Chase encouraged that, but honestly Chase was just as bad. If he wasn't doing a specific activity he'd be with Omi.
Like Omi could just walk in, bold as brass, and just hang on Chase with no preamble. Of course, in return, he had to put up with Chase just teleporting in behind him and teasing him.
The manipulations were gone, pretty much. They knew that they wanted each other by their side, they were both convinced that eventually they'd succeed. Their friendship flourished, and while almost no one else liked it, everyone knew by now not to interfere.
If in canon, their relationship/friendship were to be measured: it'd be 10/10. After 10 years that rating went up to like 1000/10.
That is a great bit of dialogue. ๐

What's your favorite Chase and Omi interaction versus your favorite Chase and Jack interaction?
They both come from the same episode, that being "Dangerous minds"
I love the scenes of Omi and Chase fighting alongside eachother.
My favorite Chase and Jack interaction is the begging scene when Chase tells Jack that he needs to reobtain the Hoduku Mouse and fix his mistake, simply because of this dialogue:
Chase:I'm giving you a chance to make up for your ill deed and show everyone what you're made of!
Jack:If the spiders rip me apart, then evorybody will know what I'm made of!
So in "The End of the Beginning", Chase got so used to Omi popping up just casually, even just to hang out in his lair, and being able to pop up and mess with Omi whenever he wanted? ๐ฅบ๐ข
Oof, hard to imagine how he must have felt to just suddenly have that vanish after so many years of getting closer. No wonder he snapped. What'd he miss the most?
He really did. Like, the way I view it, they were eating together more often than not, Omi would sleep over at Chase's several times a month, they went traveling together, while Omi never shirked his duties and he certainly didn't neglect his friendship with the other monks/Jermaine, if he wasn't with them then your best bet to find him was with Chase.
And honestly, if Chase wasn't busy with plots and such or trying to take out Hannibal, then you could find him with Omi. It was to the point that the other monks just accepted his presence when he showed up during one of their missions. They didn't like it, but they'd stopped complaining about it a while ago.
You know, when it comes right down to it, while Chase would certainly miss their arguments, their sparring, hanging around each other, helping each other, etc. At the end of the day, what he misses the most is Omi.
He just wants his friend back.
So I sent this question in to a few different people, but here's my own take on it.
On the assumption that Chase would still want Omi to rule the world by his side, what do you think would change if Omi had been an adult when they first met? I'm thinking like 18 or 19.
I think Chase would have played up the ruling by his side a bit more instead of the apprentice angle. I think their spars would have been more intense (still fun though) because Omi would be an adult.
Honestly while I think it's safe to say that there would be changes to their dynamic in that they're both adults, I think they'd like each other the same amount and still be as invested in each other as they are in canon.
And I think it would be interesting to see how the grumpy/sunshine dynamic would play out between them if they had met when Omi was a young adult.
