Just saw you wanted to be sent things? I've been thinking about how Bitty might fit in great as a gay student, but as a Southerner, might be lonely among folks baffled by his culture or bothered by casual stereotypes. Just blogged longer thoughts than fit here, but tl;dr version: what if Bitty gets defensive of his family / town when people joke about bigoted/dumb Southerners, even when he'd make the same critique himself? if he understands Jack's Québécois background better than they'd expect?

Jack frowned at the crowded bookstore. He usually tried to go on week days, but the next three weekends would be spent on roadies and then, he wouldn’t have time to shop for his parent’s presents. It was getting closer and closer to Christmas, if one was to judge by the amount of shoppers on a Tuesday evening.
He waited in line for the information desk, watching the new releases displayed around him. The History display was further away, he was stuck reading the titles of romances and science-fictions, neither were very much his style.
‘Hi!’ said a cheery voice. ‘How may I help you, today?’
He was faced with a young blonde man wearing the company nametag, a manic smile and styrofoam pellets clinging to is clothes.
‘Huh… I- Is Shit- I mean, Mister Knight, here?’
‘I’m sorry, he’s unavailable today, caught a nasty bug, left us a little bit short-staffed!’ said the young man with a nervous laugh.
‘Huh- It’s okay, I can come back- ’
‘Oh, are you Mister Zimmermann? He said you came on Tuesdays, left this note for you…’ he grabbed a handwritten note taped to the computer screen. ‘Tell this - huh, I can’t say this word while I’m working - that I managed to find that out of print book he was asking about, I had to call the editor’s personal number, oh geez, he knows we’re not allowed to do that, and the book should be here in eight to fifteen weeks.’

ok not to be weird but can you imagine like Check Please but it was in like a Solar Trials is canon au (like it’s not the Check Please characters are in a Solar Trials scenario, more like the world where the whole solar system is populated and Earth has been aware of this since the moon landing kind of thing). Like imagine some random Martian coming down to Earth after finishing school circa 2013 and deciding to enroll at Samwell to play Hockey? Idk just thinking of Bitty, Jack, R&H, Chowder, Dex, Nursey, all the others, and especially Sh*tty on the same team as some rando Martian who enjoys the weird knife-shoe, ice rubber disk game.
So nice
Bitty has known this kid for a few months, and he has been shown to be a little closed off and prickly. And yet when he comes down with a flu he immediately gets into caregiver mode and makes soup a pie and note. Like I aspire to be this man so much.
Thirdy
Am I there only one who’s weirdly attracted to Thirdy from Check Please? Like I can’t explain it, he’s a pretty minor character, but he’s just so nice, and respectful of Jack and Bitty, and he’s dedicated, and he rights poems, and he’s not looking to bad for “one of the old guys” idk it’s late, and when it’s late I make dumb posts.

I haven’t really read Webtoons, but Check Please is one of my favorite things ever, and Ngozi is making new notes to the comics and I’ll take Ngozi talking about Check Please tidbits any day. Also it might expand the audience and could make the show more of a reality. Or at least get more people to recognize my Samwell Hockey shirt.

Closet Story
Little late, but both parts of the Closet Story are some of my favorite Check Please storylines for the relate-ability, feels, and of course comedy. Seeing part one again on Webtoons makes me very happy. Plus seeing Jack’s Burger King Burglar fit will always make me laugh.
