LANDO P1!!!!!!!
(let me be)
The totally normal feeling of buying an iced tea on a humid dizzy day from my chinese university's family mart whilst they have an old 2010s BigBang song (blue i think?) blaring in the background, instantly transporting me 9 years back to warm summer evenings listening to exactly the same music drinking a similar tea.

Life in China #13 Summer
Summer means insect season, which has now apparently expanded to includes wasps as I discovered when walking to pick up my parcel, and having a wasp just randomly crash into my forehead and then nonchalantly buzz off on it's merry little way.
Insect season is now in full swing.
Almost every dorm floor has complained about the flying roaches, and now our dorm just issued a notice warning us about ants and to keep everything closed. Fun times ahead.

You think you've seen it all, and yet.

Life in China #14 Milktea
Having tried out quite a few milk tea brands, I can confidently say that KFC does the best milk tea by far (yes I'm aware that there is an abundance of milk-tea and tea stores in China but KFC's just has that something)
I don't know why, maybe it's the simplicity or the almost-perfect sugar balance but whenever I want milk-tea I order from KFC, one of the many things that I will miss once I go back home, to a land of milktea-free KFC's.
The surreal feeling of living out my 10th grade american high school fantasy of eating a hamburger and trying one of those mythical milkshakes at 5 guys whilst Bon Jovis' "Living on a Prayer" blares in the background, all whilst in China.
Life in China #15 Shopping Malls
In the large cities, there is an abundance of malls. Turn to your left, a mall. Turn to your right another mall. Look up? That towering building may indeed be a mall.
There is literally a mall around every corner, with 3 within walking distance of my university. Back at home, we have one mall in our city and it's a 45 min bus ride to get there.
It's quite a nice mall, but China's 10 floor malls just make my head spin.
Life in China #16 The Goodbye
People often talk about the great love of their life, but I think this can also apply to places. Because this city has captured my heart in a way like no other, and the thought of this magical chapter coming to an end is bittersweet.
All the people I met, all the friends I made, all the unforgettable experiences we had. All good things must come to an end.
However, where one chapter ends, a new chapter begins so here's to whatever comes next. π₯π

and I pronounce you husband and husband.
