To Witches Who Are Going Back to School
For those in the broom closet, or for those who are open, for baby witches and for the experienced, here are some back to school witch tips to help your school year be magical and spectacular <3
Draw sigils on assignments for good grades/to have your teacher appreciate your work, scratch them out really hard/fast or erase them to charge.
Charm your lip balm to be persuasive, or to be heard!
Draw a tarot card in the morning to see what you should be aware of for the day, or what you need to work on for the day.
Stir your morning tea or coffee counter-clockwise to rid bad energy, and stir clockwise to bring in good energy, luck, and any other sort of positive intention.
If you have a binder that acts as a book of shadows, place sigils on them to keep wandering eyes away.
Glamours, glamOURS, GLAMOURS!!!!! They work so well if you’re running late. I like to mumble them to myself and mediate on Rose Quartz when I’m in a rush.
Eat small snacks to keep yourself grounded, and don’t forget to breathe after each class. Trust me, I know it can get frustrating with obnoxious people.
Charm talismans/amulets/bracelets to help you be on time/remember your homework.
Put satchets in your lockers/decorate your locker to make it a little safe space or school-friendly altar.
Keep the list going! I started school Monday and I’m eager to see what else witches can do for school!
Secret Witch Tip
Not a lot of people know that I practice witchcraft, and a way I keep my “secret” a secret is by having my altar located in my dresser.
I have a drawer in my dresser which I’ve set aside as an altar- complete with my athame, incense, runes, blessed salt, a candle, etc. It’s all set on a piece of white fabric (partially for purity and partially to avoid any messes if the salt spills).
I have another drawer in which I store my herbs, books, and crystals/other items.
Hopefully this helps my fellow closeted witches out there!
Minecraft + Magic
I’ve been playing a lot of Minecraft recently and it’s really got me thinking on/about it being used as a sort of like an altar/e-shrine that one could use if they were still a hidden witch or even a beginner witch. When playing I know that most players enjoy building a home so I figured why not build a home with rooms of worship inside it? Each room would then be dedicated to a god/dess and then i would go out into the world looking for the devotional items or things that would symbolize that god/dess. Inside the game there are many potential representations Torches - Candles Lava - Fire Element Rivers/Lakes/Waterfalls/Oceans - Water Element Dirt - Earth Element Feathers - Wind Element YOU CAN MAKE AN ENCHANTING TABLE WITH A FLOATING SPELL BOOK. YOU CAN BREW POTIONS TOO!
There’s so much potential for Magical workings in this game. Seriously guys go check it out or try it for yourselves~
I’ll try to take pictures of my house to show you what i mean, hopefully it’ll work… Anyways talk to me about it! What are your thoughts?

Embracing the Magic of Yule: A Witch's Guide to Celebrating the Winter Solstice
🌟❄️🕯️
As the winter solstice approaches, the veil between worlds thins, inviting us into the enchanting realm of Yule. This sacred time, celebrated by witches and pagans, heralds the rebirth of the sun, the return of light, and the promise of new beginnings. Let's explore the essence of Yule, how witches honor this festival, rituals, spells, and the myriad wonders associated with this magical season.
What is Yule?
Yule marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, a celestial event celebrating the sun's return and the triumph of light over darkness. It symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and the turning of the wheel of the year.
How Do Witches Celebrate Yule?
Witches honor Yule with joyous celebrations, rituals, and traditions steeped in ancient lore. They decorate their altars and homes with evergreen boughs, holly, mistletoe, and candles to welcome the returning light.
Rituals and Spells for Yule
🕯️ Yule Log Ceremony: Carving intentions into a Yule log and burning it symbolizes releasing the old and inviting the new.
🌲 Nature Walks: Connect with nature and the dormant Earth. Collect fallen evergreen branches for decorations.
🔮 Divination Rituals: Perform divination to gain insight into the upcoming year's energies and opportunities.
🕯️ Candle Magic: Light candles in colors symbolizing intentions—gold for prosperity, red for courage, and green for growth.
Yule and Sacred Symbols
✨ The Wheel of the Year: Symbolizing the cyclical nature of life, the wheel turns to the winter solstice, marking the beginning of the solar year.
🌞 The Sun: An emblem of hope and vitality, the return of the sun is celebrated with gratitude and reverence.
Other Yuletide Traditions
🎶 Feasting and Merriment: Share meals with loved ones, celebrating abundance and kinship.
🎁 Gift-Giving: Exchange gifts as tokens of love and appreciation, reflecting the spirit of generosity.
Yule is a time of introspection, gratitude, and setting intentions for the coming year. Whether you're performing rituals, casting spells, or simply embracing the magic of the season, Yule offers an opportunity to connect deeply with the natural rhythms of life. As we honor the returning light, let us kindle the flame of hope within our hearts, celebrating the resilience of the human spirit and the everlasting cycle of life.
May your Yule be blessed with warmth, joy, and the abundance of the season.

Thank you!
Hi! I’m kinda curious about Wicca. I’ve got some candles, a few crystals, I like norse and Greek mythology, but I’m just kinda unsure where to start. Are the spells just mindfulness, meditation things, or is there are there specific rituals? Also as I’m in my final year of secondary school I don’t have a lot of time for big long rituals, so do you have any ideas for short easy ones? Thanks 💜
ohhhhhhh yeah I feel you. i’m not wiccan, sorry, but I can give you a few pointers in student witchin’!! I’m in grade 10 at the moment. tea spells and rituals are definitely going to be your best friend, tbh. you can google herb correspondence, if you want to make your own, but if you wanna just grab a normal tea bag and go:
black tea is a good quick prosperity or money spell, so while you stir it stir clockwise while focusing on gaining opportunities to y'know, prosper, and stir anticlockwise focusing on lack of money, hopelessness, whatever. chug it and hope good to go. it also awakens a conscious mind so it’s good to drink before school!
you can do similar with green tea and energy or health, white tea and beauty or psychic abilities, oolong and love, peppermint and dreams, etc. Etc. Possibilities are endless!
you can add sugar to attract what you desire, honey to protect from curses/psychic attack/ the evil eye and boost happiness, or milk to cleanse. of course, there’s a lot more to it than this, this is just usually what I do when I’m short on time.
A baby witch’s first full moon experience 🌕
Hey this full moon was the first time I did anything particularly moon-related, and I think things worked pretty well!
I decided to start my Book of Shadows last night (and by start I mean I drew Algiz, the rune of protection and a short paragraph about me) and lit some candles (2 big white ones, one little white one in a cat candle holder for Freyja, and a cinnamon spiced one for Loki). Freyja’s candle had some trouble, so I asked that she bless this candle and bless this match, and asked her to help this candle shine beautifully in her honour, and then it did. I did a similar prayer for Loki bc I don’t think he’d like to be left out, and when I checked later, the wax from his candle spilled over, so maybe don’t give a fire god more encouragement 😂 I put the solidified bits of wax on his alter as an offering or something.
I can feel a sort of presence in my hands sometimes, energy I think. Before I had to dance or meditate to really get the feeling going, but this time I just closed my eyes, took a deep breath and it was there.
So yeah, I think things did feel a bit more powerful last night. Not sure if I’ll be able to do something like this every full moon (busy student and all), but if my schedule leaves some free time around the full moon, I’ll do this again
