Code Vein - Tumblr Posts
I’ve been digging through the data files for Code Vein (partly fact-finding, partly to fill out the TCRF page because it was in a sorry state when I came across it, partly just personal curiosity) and there’s some names which go unused which should be useful for people who want to write fanfic or just know more about their favourite characters or what have you.
The first category are people who are only referred to by a given name in the game itself but have family names. They’re mostly sidequest people—in particular Louis and Karen have no ingame surname at all, so there’s no confirmation of the rumour started (as far as I can tell) by Bandai-Namco Europe that they’re part of the Amamiya family.
Matthew, the brave but inexperienced revenant who loses his weapon, is Matthew Suren.
Shang the merchant is Shang Berman.
Gustav, the forthright guy protesting the provisional government and their levy system, is Gustav Arens.
Daryl, who just wants to find his friends, is Daryl Xenakis.
Sophie, the revenant researching the Successors who used to work with Mido, is Sophie Clayton.
Richard, the guy who lost his sleeping bag, is Richard Saut. (The Japanese indicates this should be pronounced like the French word saut, which means “jump”.)
Lyle, the Crypt Spire guard who barely survived Mido’s onslaught, is Lyle Wilson.
Dominic, the human stuck in the Provisional Government Center, is Dominic Weiss. (Pronounce it like the name of the RWBY character, not like the German word; the Japanese name probably should be romanised “Wise”.)
Then there’s two people who are never referred to by name in the game at all.
Human Woman, whom you rescue from a life of being emergency rations for a gang of starving revenants, is named Chloe Bizet (pronounced like the name of the composer).
The Self-Important Revenant, one of those starving revenants who ultimately just wanted to find somewhere to live, is Johnny Eckart.
Finally, someone who has a surname which is likely to make some people stop and think.
Valerio, the former Successor of the Throat who sealed away the horrors in the depths, is Valerio Valentino. Yes, that suggests he’s related to Aurora. Small world, huh?
Louis, smart: that's a Vestige. Absolutely never ever touch those.

My Code Vein OC/Character, Kuro.
I got code vein recently...
And proceed to make all my Bnha Oc's and one from RWBY. From the top it's Hinami Hikaru, Roulette Vixen(RWBY), Takara Kemono, Rie, and Kambi Bederven(My freind's Oc)
Hinami is my main one. She uses the Queenslayer blood code with a Queenslayer sword and halberd, with the blood veil Night Thorn. And is about to enter the Crown of Sand at level 99 with best bro Yakumo. I plan for her to get the Dwellers in the Dark ending.
Roulette is my secondary one. She uses the Atlas blood code with a Queenslayer greatsword and sword, with the night fang bloodveil, might change that. And is working her way through her Memories, at level 50 or 51 with Jack. Her main companion is best boi Louis or maybe best girl Io when I get her. She's gonna get the To Entirety ending
Still have to make one for the Heirs ending...

Okay so, Spoilers
Code Vein as a Dyaus Pita in it, and the "Horrors" are Aragami, the 3 DLC bosses were basically a Hannibal, Marduk, and Vajra reskinned. The spikes are Thorns of Judgment that appeared in the Great Collapse, both of which occur in the God Eater anime, Burgarally and the Oden sandwich are more connections.
So a lot of people think that they take place in the same universe.
However, there are no visible thorns of judgment in God Eater, and in Code Vein, the moon isn't green because of Shio. So they think it takes place before God Eater. But my brother thinks not, and that it takes place in like, 100 years later.
BUT the creators said they don't take place in the same world so...
I would like to point out that my brother believes that Code Vein takes place AFTER the God eater series and I don't know if I should tell him what the creators said or agree with him...
Wait what? I missed info and didn't even know it existed! So tell me and then I can make suggestions...

I misses this game.

Summary: Short fic based off Billie Eilish’s ‘everything I wanted’. This is the first time I’ve posted any writings on Tumblr and I’m sorry if i didn’t handle the song, lyrics or Jack’s character well! This is an oc x canon character fanfic and i’m unsure if it formatted well!
I had a dream
I got everything I wanted
Not what you’d think
And if I’m being honest
It might’ve been a nightmare

Lucia held her arms close to her body as she shuffled out of her room. She had another nightmare about Queenslayer. The feeling of being shot off the cliff and going into free fall haunted her dreams. As she quietly sat on the makeshift balcony, she looked up at the night sky, her tears falling from her eyes, she let out soft, choked sobs.
Thought I could fly (fly)
So I stepped off the Golden, mm
Nobody cried (cried, cried, cried, cried)
Nobody even noticed
I saw them standing right there
Kinda thought they might care (Might care, might care)
Her eyes fell away from the sky as she covered her mouth, replaying her last memories in her mind at the time. Silva and Jack watched her frenzying as she shook uncontrollably, In agonizing pain. Her eyes glowed as she made the same stifled sound she could hear herself making even now. She felt so weak and small, remembering how little power she had back then. How it felt to be hurt by someone she trusted with her life.
She stared into the forming pools in her hands. “Why…”
I had a dream

But when I wake up, I see

Jack, who was returning from a late-night walk and was struggling with his own memories of Queenslayer, heard her cries. He quietly set aside his veil, weapon and mask before walking over to her; his footfalls the only other sound outside of her tears. As she turned to face him, he stopped and put his hands in his pockets. “Mind if I join you?”
Lucia moves aside slightly, sniffling as she wipes her nose with the back of her hand. “What’s wrong? If it’s okay I ask…” Jack softly whispered, resting his hand on hers
“I…I remember when you shot me and I’m having these nightmares and I… I feel so worthless and weak.” Lucia hissed, slipping her hand away slightly. “You…you and Silva didn’t care and then when you found me again and joined us…”
And you say, “As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you
Don’t wanna lie here but you can learn to
If I could change the way that you see yourself
You wouldn’t wonder why you hear ‘they don’t deserve you’”
“When I joined you and your ragtag group of friends, I joined because I’m not the monster people call me. I don’t want to be the monster in people’s dreams anymore, least of all yours. When I said to everyone that I would be your sword and shield, I wasn’t trying to say it to seem like I…” He trailed off
Jack pulled a leg up to his chest as he let the other dangle freely over the ledge. “Listen I joined you because I never intended to hurt you all those years ago. You… you were frenzying. I don’t deserve to be here right now, after everything I did to you. I don’t even feel like I deserve to be alive sometimes for what I did to you.”
I tried to scream
But my head was underwater
They called me weak
Like I’m not just somebody’s daughter

But it felt like they were right there

Lucia looked over at him between gaps in her hair, which thankfully hid her eyes pricking with more tears. “I screamed as I fell… but I couldn’t even get it out because my lungs had filled with blood by then. I felt myself dying. I could feel my body coming apart as I fell faster. Jack, do you know how much I was aware of until I fell? How much it haunts me? Especially now in nightmares?”
She shifts to tuck one leg under herself. “I dream of what happened to me. The way I fell back as I saw you look away from me to talk to Silva. The way the clouds that day were so grey… and all I wanted to do was live. I didn’t even want to be a hero or avenge those I lost in that moment. I just” she choked on the next line but forced it past her lips “Jack, I was so scared. I didn’t want to die. And the last thing I heard was a goodbye, but I could barely hear that over my own thoughts. Did you even care about you did to me?”
Jack bit his lip. “Yeah, I did. And when we found out you were the Successor of the Blood, I wanted you to come help us. To help put an end to the frenzy others were going through. I didn’t think on how you were affected from back then.”
Lucia kept silent for a bit. “I’m scared of letting everyone down, Jack.”
He was taken aback from the response. “You won’t, Lucia. What makes you feel that?”
“Everyone is trusting me not to fail. Louis, Yakumo, Mia; Hell, even you and Eva. Everything is riding on me not failing the successors and all of Vein.” Lucia sighed and looked up from her hands.
“Then there’s how you ask if I plan to die a dog in some of our fights together against the opponent. I feel like I’m even lesser, even when you praise me for my skills not waning.”
Jack looked away from her. “You know I never meant any harm in that during those fights, right? It’s just me trying to be blunt about the danger is all. You of all people should know that.” He whispered, wiping away a stray tear
Lucia looked over at him completely, noticing his tone changing. “I never meant any harm in it. Again, I never meant to harm you. I always talked about you to Eva and she always told me I had this small smile when I remember your antics and your personality. How you seemed so self-assured.”
He gave a soft chuckle. “Even now, she tells me how she sees why you made me smile before I had to” he paused. “No; before I needed to make sure you didn’t turn into some lost revenant, a shell of who you were. Of whom you are now.”

Lucia tilted her head in confusion, her black hair lightly being swept across her cheeks by the light breeze that began. She opened her mouth but couldn’t form the words she wanted to say. The words she needed to say to erase that feeling of guilt for what happened in Queenslayer. But she knew deep down that it would always haunt him. Closing her mouth quietly, she rested her hand on his, giving it a gentle pat.
The silence was deafening for the two of them, fully aware of what caused it. The two had their own regrets for what happened in Queenslayer and how even now, they were being torn apart inside. Soon she mustered up the courage to speak. “It’s not your fault Jack” Lucia began, voice unsteady “you did what you thought was best for everyone. And while I feared dying, it kept everyone safe from what could’ve been worst case scenario.”
He gave a sad smile as he looked at her. “Of course it did, but it doesn’t deny that you were scarred from what happened. That you’re still grappling with what happened.”
And you say, “As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you
Don’t wanna lie here, but you can learn to
If I could change the way that you see yourself
You wouldn’t wonder why you hear ‘they don’t deserve you’”
“Nor does it deny that my death shook you up. But you do deserve to live and be happy. Just like I deserve to try to make things right. For everyone.” Lucia breathed
As she changed position, Jack could see that the sun was beginning to rise. Lucia then sighed and looked out over the horizon. “Just remember that you don’t have to do it alone. You don’t deserve to suffer alone, carrying the world on your shoulders. Everyone is here to carry the burden with you, myself included. I know you’re still scared that you’ll fail deep down and I can’t change that but” Jack paused and threw and arm around her shoulders, causing her to flinch away for a moment before she leaned into him. “I want to help you prove to yourself that you aren’t weak or pitiful. That you’re worth something to everyone around you. After all, we all care about you and nothing can change that.”
As he gave her a light side hug, squeezing her shoulder; they could hear what little signs of nature was left coming alive inside the red mist.
“Thank you, Jack. I needed to hear that.” She admitted, hiding her smile

“It’s fine. You needed to talk to someone about this, even if I wasn’t the best of people.” He casually spoke
Lucia began to giggle before yawning. “I’m serious. Thank you for showing you cared about how I feel. I’ll always remember this…”
As she dozed off under his arm, he couldn’t help but smile to himself. It wasn’t much but he was happy that Lucia seemed to be able to finally sleep peacefully. ‘Now’ he thought to himself ‘I just need to help her see that she’s braver than she realizes.’
He didn’t regret anything about serving in Queenslayer when it came down to working with Lucia down to the very last moment. He even felt he could find it in his heart to forgive himself, if only a little bit; for what happened after everything they did together.

Random hcs I just thought of pt.1
Louis Amamiya
- So I have this idea that since he’s a heavy book lover, he would cherish those babies and get so hurt when he sees a book that’s been water damaged or ruined.
- Especially when someone decides to whack someone else upside the head with them. Like you could see his face visibly change to horror and you just hear this squeak at the book abuse he’s just witnessed.
- I feel he would read some average books but when he’s bored? He reads some of the more outlandish things he’s found. A book about the history of games? He’s read it once when he didn’t understand what the hell Murasame was going on about. Curious about the war of Kudzu? He’ll be somewhere reading books about plant warfare. This man will read the most unexpected topics and he will sometimes rattle off those weird ass facts that he learns and you can’t tell me otherwise
- I feel like in his pursuit of knowledge he would be amazing at still life art because identifying wildlife would be crucial but if you ask him to draw in his spare time? he will draw you a stick figure because he’s only good at drawing plants and that’s all you’ll get out of him.
Yakumo Shinonome
- Alright so I feel this teddy bear of a man can’t draw anything imaginative to save his life but give him rulers, pencils and what you need and he will be able to come up with a blueprint and start building what you asked for so long as you give him a base idea
- I would feel because of that he and Louis got along because yeah he has a past with mercenary work but also the fact that he was able to convert the church they found into the home base we know and love today? I’m certain the two of them would bond because the math and the damn work it would take to make sure anything was more or less structurally sound would impress Louis because let’s be real, that sweet nerd probably wouldn’t be that great with building like Yakumo would
Mia Karnstein
- So she strikes me as the type to admire people who have musical talent because she herself doesn’t have any but I could see her being really good at coming up with the most amazing fairytales to keep Nicola interested
- Also she’s the older sister who I could see helping Nicola through levels before the collapse and would learn how to play games just so she could play with him, especially if he had a hard day
- Speaking of games, I feel like for how sweet she seems to be, her best genre if she played games for fun in her own spare time? Fighting games. Specifically things like Street Fighter or Super Smash Bros and she would be the one who would play either Kirby or Solid snake and there is no in between
- Building off of that, I feel like her and Murasame would’ve became the best of friends because one day Murasame would be strugging with a level and Mia would notice and ask to help and BOOM she absolutely crushes it and now they hang out all the time because of it
- Lastly she always tries to adjust her dress strap but it never tightens as much as she needs it to and she’s always had that luck that any strap she wore would always be too loose on one side no matter how hard she tries to make sure it stay secure and so she just gave up on fixing it after a while and when people point it out, she’s just like “Yeah I know”
[So i’m getting a little bit more confident doing headcanons but I wanna stay sfw for a bit before I make an actual imagine blog and ultimately move into more spicy headcanons since i’m scared i’m not as good with writing some of the characters]
Random hcs I just thought of pt.2
Rin Murasame
- Alright Rin was a Gymnast and I feel like with how awesome and quirky she is, she would be the type to freak out/impress people with her hyper-mobility and I feel like people would’ve found out about it because something would’ve gotten lodged in a weird spot and no one could get it
- Everyone is like ‘well there goes that item’ and when she asks where it is, they just see her bend and squeeze in and grab it and come out so casually while everyone else was blown away
- Also, I could see her making Yakumo squirm because of how loud her joints pop when she does it. Cracking Knuckles? Sounds like she broke something. Popping her back? You could swear she split in two with the sound. Not to mention if she can dislocate something like her shoulders or can turn a body part farther than what most people can do. Like its one of her favorite tricks and while Yakumo and even Louis shudder from it, I feel like Nicola would find it amazing and ask her to do it all the time
- Lastly I feel like before the collapse, when she was in school she took robotics and metal shop and now I can see this tiny girl pretty much being in metal shop working on her projects and she brings that to the table and with help from Yakumo that’s how she became capable of repairing most of the weapons you present her with in home base as well as how she could get game consoles back up and running
- I just overall see her being this smart girl who’s just naturally bubbly and even with everything that’s happened, you give her a chance to flex some of her talents she picked up and she just lights up like a Christmas tree and you can pry this from my cold dead hands
Eva Roux
- Alright I’m coming straight out the gate with this one: Eva knows how to sew, let out, bring in and mend clothes and that’s why Jack’s suit always looks so nice. I feel like this is also why her outfit was ultimately shredded because she would mend it and not too long later it would get torn apart in a fight so after a while she just accepted it staying that way until it gets absolutely crucial to replace it
- You think that stopped Jack from trying to find her a new dress or fabrics though? Hell no! this man is dedicated to her and I fully believe the only reason why he stopped is because everything was too hectic and after a while he gave up but always worried that her dress would snag on something or that it would fall apart at any second
- She once caught Jack singing and when she found out he was tone deaf? This wonderful angel literally convinced him to let her teach him how to sing and it was one of her personal achievements that she to this day keeps close to her heart because whenever she can get him to sing with her? The harmony between the two is awe inspiring
Jack Rutherford
- So like I said in the last hc for Eva, Jack was taught how to sing and wooo boy if you can somehow get him to sing for you, you’re a lucky soul for two reasons: He actually likes you enough to trust you to hear him sing, be it friendly or more and more importantly? This man can SING when he gets into it
- Like you give him a song and if he can sing it, you get to hear that deep husky voice shine in such a way that any one who had the chance to truly hear him sing would just melt
- One thing he will never do, though? You will never catch him willingly singing in a falsetto in front of everyone. Man cares about his pride and despite it sounding amazing, he likes to maintain his reputation of being terrifying to anyone who dares to cross his path
- Does this mean he never uses it? Nope! Contrary to popular belief, he’ll sing like that if he’s alone or really comfortable with someone outside of Eva hearing it which means you gotta get really close for that or else he will threaten you if you so much as breathe a word of it to anyone else
- I could really see his music tastes being slow songs from before the great collapse. With how he dresses? He strikes me as the type to have all those songs meant for romancing people since they’re perfect, whether for setting a mood or just something to listen to that’s pleasing. Also picture the following: You’re dancing with Jack, listening to slow dance songs and you just hear him softly singing them in your ear. You’re welcome
Io
- Okay so Io is innocent about certain topics but I could definitely see her asking you to join her in watching the 35mm reels so she can learn about humans and humanity. Like this would be a movie night with her and just seeing the look on her face as she understands what it means to be human? Heartwarming stuff, man
- Now as Io is learning how to be a human, I could see her wanting to try things from before the collapse. Just her going “I’d like to try a spa day with you.” because she wants to find out why people in movies find them so much fun or how massages are considered relaxing and with how sweet she would be when she asks, it would be impossible to tell her no
- A cute idea I had? Io learning how to do pottery. Like seriously, being able to make her own little novelties? She would love that since as she’s learning, she would need help to make sure she’s doing it right but once she learns? She takes to it like a duck to water and suddenly you see that her collection has suddenly expanded, and she may even give you one of her creations as a gift
[So a heads up, this will be tagged as spoilers since it could apply for one or even two of the endings in Code Vein as well as mentioning parts of Vestiges! This will also be tagged as Code Pain for the sad/dark aspects aspects of it. It’s another long one so without further ado, I bring you more headcanons. Enjoy!]
Coco whens she discovers that you won’t be coming back
- When you first arrived at Home base, she was very standoffish towards you starting out because she was scared to get too close to you. She lost her son and got Kevin killed after letting him walk away with harvested blood beads that she sent him to collect among other things
- Of course it wasn’t a surprise that over time, as you stayed around and bought wares and even helped retrieve memories for her, she began to welcome your face coming through the doors of the church. After some time, you two even spent time together just talking and enjoying each’s other’s company
- So when she didn’t see you come through the doors after going to fight Silva? internally she was devastated, especially if no one came back at all.
- Coco would be very sentimental and would be beating herself up inside for not letting herself show anything if no one came back. Murasame and Davis would definitely be found comforting her as they would be as equally distraught.
- I could see her ultimately leaving Home base due to all the memories it has of you and of everyone else, either to find out what truly happened or because she feels suffocated there.
-Now I would personally say that being the person she is, she would make sure that Murasame and Davis wouldn’t be out of luck on a merchant before she leaves at least
- However, if only you failed to return? Prepare to see her turn cold as stone should anyone ever mention you to her. While everyone openly mourns your death, she would do it privately due to her memories of her own failures.
- If she saw you as family, especially as her child? Complete shut down at the sound of your name. She wouldn’t even want to mention you by name, let alone what you’ve done to attempt to ensure peace for a little longer. After some time, she would be able to ultimately mention you again, but with more of a wistful tone in her voice.
- If she saw you as a lover, I could see her being more open in her mourning in the sense of joining them to leave flowers at your feet at the throne. I could also see her visiting your resting place on occasion. Now she’d never drink or do anything that self destructive but with support from the others, I could see her potentially opening up and attempting to be more welcoming over time, if only to honor your memory.

Jack realizing he’s in love with you
- I’d say its one of of those things that builds up over time. He’s just enjoying your company, maybe teasing you in fights and even had helped you sort out how you feel emotionally after having your memories of your past returned.
- If a memory upsets you too much, or someone says something harmful or you feel you’ve failed at something and you get upset to where it’s clear you need a shoulder to cry on? Jack is one of, if not the first one there to offer to listen. After all, he may seem threatening but if you need someone, he’s there to help. At least that’s what he’d be thinking anyways.
- Then he may notice he gets this little twinge of something in his chest when he sees you giggling too much with Yakumo or sitting a little too close to Louis but he wouldn’t act on it because it isn’t anything serious. You’re just spending time with them and being friendly right?
- He may start to struggle to hide it as the feeling grows, especially if he knows he has no reason to feel the way that he does. After all, you two are friends and spending time with other friends happens, right?
- So when someone asks if he’s alright because he can’t hide it anymore and he tries to play off only for someone to say he’s jealous because he likes you? It hits like a ton of bricks.
- Just Oh. Oh. Ohhh. And then he feels so stupid for it because before realizing it, he was just trying to be there after everything between you two in the past and he’s like ‘Well I know what to do next at least.’
Jack confessing and asking you to be his
- With how blunt he can naturally be at times, he wouldn’t skirt around this too much. I mean it’s the end of the world, the worst has already happened and the worst you can say is no.
- So he politely asks to speak to you privately so no one is watching when he asks this. This is something of the heart and despite his cold exterior, he’s actually very sensitive inside and wouldn’t want to embarrass or force you to say yes around everyone, not to mention his own well hidden nervousness.
- If you said no? His face wouldn’t give it away but he would feel like someone stabbed a knife through his chest and blame himself for being so foolish to ask. It’d be dropped quickly but you would be able to feel that things aren’t quite the same anymore. It’d feel like an uncomfortable distance would’ve formed between you two and being around each other would be awkward all around until the feelings went away and maybe even afterwards too.
- If you said yes? You’d see him give this smile that would melt your heart. He’d feel a weight off of his shoulders and you could swear he seemed warmer in his outward appearance. Jack would also pull you to him and even kiss you, if you were fine with that, just to celebrate that you felt the same way he felt about you. After all, love doesn’t come easy after everything you’ve known is gone.
Jack in a relationship
- He’s a man who values his partners so if you snag him? Ohhh be prepared for him to worry over you, even if you can’t see it outwardly. He sees you need help with something? He’s right there by your side when you ask. You need a smile? He’ll tease and joke with you until you’re feeling better. Out fighting and you get hurt? He’s hellbent on killing whatever hurt you and getting you to safety.
- Now he wouldn’t stop you from bonding with everyone though, because you still have a life outside of him and it just wouldn’t be fair to you or anyone else if he tried to hog your attention.
- However if he’s having one of his hard days where he’s thinking back to Queenslayer or any of the events after it? He’ll often want to spend time with you. Just having you near while talking about what bothers him and getting support does wonders for him. Remember how I said he’s sensitive? This is one of the few times it comes out full force and you get to see that his cold exterior is only a mask for someone who cares and wishes that he wasn’t in such a cold reality.
- Once you’ve been with him for a while, even if he’s trying to keep you from worrying, you just KNOW when he’s having a bad day and when it’s time to pull him somewhere to snuggle up to him and just give him some love and affection.
