Smite Story
One time, I was playing Smite with a good friend of mine. We were in Conquest, and I played as Athena (since Athena support is bae) and my friend played as Freya. We decided to attack Right lane, being on the Intruder side. So we were going down our Right Lane, and for a majority of the match, we were scuffling mainly with a Khepri and a Susanoo. So, me and my friend destroyed the Susanoo, but couldn't get to the Khepri. So, I decided to gank. I was pretty used to the Jungles by this point, so I didn't think it would be a problem. So I went in to the opening to the Jungle near the enemy Mana Camp and took the path that led to directly where the Khepri was and killed them with my 1. I saw the Susanoo had respawned and was rushing back to the lane, so I decided to run into the Jungle to retreat. I panicked and smacked myself into the Mana Camp, so I was stuck there, with an angry enemy Susanoo on my tail, ready to slash me to ribbons. I stand there, ready to accept my fate. Then, he just runs right past me. I figured that it would be a good time to escape, so I tried running, but I looked to the Map and saw the enemy Fenrir coming towards the Mana Camp through the Jungle. I stood still in my spot and he took a sharp turn and ran into the Right Lane. I tried leaving again, but I saw the enemy Khepri coming trough the jungle to retreat. I stood still again and saw he was on less than 10% health, so I took him out with another 1. When I told my team what I had done, they all freaked out and laughed.
If you're gonna constantly rub in my face that I'm a bad person for playing Conquest, the least you could do is actually let me BE a bad person, game.

And since people keep asking: Pestilence and Conquest are interchangeable with Pestilence being more popular (if I am correct) in more recent depictions. For example “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” an 1887 painting by Viktor Vasnetsov features Conquest instead of Pestilence
