Touya's not usually one to check his text messages.
Never has been, ever since he got his first cellphone when he was 13. He finds it more of a nuisance than anything, the way people always want to get ahold of him. Always expect a response from him over the most mundane shit. He barely likes talking to anyone as is, let alone during his private time—therefore, as a general rule, he doesn't respond to texts.
Especially not ones that pop up on his phone on a lazy Saturday afternoon with the contact name 'Bird Brain' listed as the sender.
But when these particular message previews appear, rudely interrupting him in the middle of watching a cake decorating video while he lays sprawled across the couch, Touya can't help but click through to the conversation to give them the response that they deserve.

His response is about as succinct and unamused as he is.
Three telltale dots appear at the bottom of the conversation before Touya can click away, and he finds himself waiting to see what Keigo comes back with—for reasons not even he quite understands.

Touya pushes himself up off the couch in an instant, stomping into your bedroom.
He finds himself hesitating once he makes it to the doorway, his body having moved relatively of its own accord, realizing only once he's standing at the threshold that he's not even really sure what he's going to say.
You're laying across the bottom of your bed on your tummy with your sock-clad feet lifted in the air behind you. You have one headphone in your ear and your laptop propped in front of you with that stupid romantic drama you like so much playing—the one Touya pretends he hates but always gets a little pouty when you watch an episode without him. You turn when you spot him in your peripheral vision, popping your headphone out of your ear and hitting the spacebar to pause your show.
"I'm almost done," you tell him, glancing back to your screen where the male lead is paused mid-confession—his mouth still open in the middle of his ardent monologue. You peer back at him again over your shoulder with a slightly smug look. "If you hadn't watched ahead without me we could be watching it together, y'know."
"That was an accident," Touya grumbles, sniffing a little indignantly. "It started playin' automatically when I turned the TV on."
"Sure, sure," you chirp, turning back to your laptop. When you realize Touya's still lingering there, you face him again, this time pushing yourself up on your elbow so you can twist around to look at him more fully. Your brow furrows. "What's wrong?"
Touya sucks in a breath of air and holds it in his cheeks, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"Can I see your phone for a sec?" he asks.
The pinch of your brow slackens as one of them lifts in surprise.
"Yeah," you say, though your tone is still a little wary. You nod towards your bedside table at the head of the bed. "It's plugged in."
Touya shuffles towards you, rounding the end of your bed frame and approaching the device in question. He sit down at the edge of the mattress, and it dips under his weight. Beside him, you shuffle a bit closer to him as you resume watching your show, one of your feet brushing gently against his back as you kick them idly back and forth.
Touya knows your passcode, just like you know his, so it's no effort to unlock the device once he has it in hand. Finding the app in question is another story entirely.
He turns to you.
"Which one of these is Instagram?" he asks, holding the device in front of your face with the home screen open.
You pause your show again.
"This one," you say, pointing to one particular app icon, but your voice is notably perplexed.
Touya's never had any interest in social media. He had a couple of accounts when he was a teenager but hasn't properly logged in for years. As new social networking sites have risen and fallen, he's never bothered to even sign up, seeing no need in signing away his personal data to a platform he'll never use anyway.
Touya taps his thumb against the icon that you pointed out, waiting for the application to launch. His leg jiggles impatiently while he waits for it to load.
Beside him, you don't unpause your show.
When the screen finally loads, Touya is immediately accosted by an unfamiliar interface. There's some photo of a girl he doesn't know taking up most of the screen, and a few bubbles in the upper right hand corner that he can only assume are notifications you haven't checked. Touya may not use social media, but he's not an idiot either, so after clicking around the screen for long enough he finally manages to pull up what he recognizes as your personal profile.
"Touya, what are you doing?" you ask, thoroughly bewildered now, having just watched your boyfriend visit just about every corner of the Instagram app.
He sucks in a sharp breath.
Slowly, he turns to look at you.
"Did you just post this?"
He doesn't really need to ask, considering the baggy t-shirt you're wearing in the photo—his t-shirt, he recognizes immediately—is the same one you currently have on as you lie stretched across your bed. It's all you have on, save for the frilly little socks on your feet and the edge of the panties he can see peeking out where your shirt's hem has ridden up.
The photo blessedly has left those out.
You clear your throat, almost like you're embarrassed, reaching out for your cellphone. "Yeah, a little while ago."
Touya holds the device out of your reach, and a little sound of indignation slips from your lips. He keeps scrolling.
Your profile is full of photos of you that are just as charming as the first one he'd seen. Some are of friends, or food, or places you've visited. Many are even of him, or the two of you together. The collection is like a series of little snapshots into your life—of all the moments you wanted to save or share. But every so often there will be a photo just of you.
You with your lips pursed coyly, or maybe quirked with the ghost of a smile. You wrapped in a skimpy little dress you bought for a special occasion that Touya is all too familiar with. You with your eyes bright, or maybe one where they're heavy lidded in a sultry expression that makes something possessive and primal scrape against Touya's ribs.
His face feels hot when he looks at those ones. Hotter still when he realizes other people have seen them too.
"I think you should delete your account," he says suddenly, turning to face you with a completely serious—and markedly insistent—expression.
"W-what? Touya!" You exclaim plaintively. You push yourself up onto your knees and scrabble for your phone. Touya doesn't fight back to any real degree. He lets you crawl into his lap and wrestle it out of his hands, though the two of you do go tumbling back across the bed in the process. Once you've safely tossed the phone down to the other end of the bed out of his reach, you turn back to him with an irritated pinch to your features.
Touya meets your gaze easily, like a man without guilt.
"What's gotten into you?" you ask him softly, still straddling his lap. Your hands rest over his sternum, fiddling idly with the strings of his hoodie.
Touya sighs, reaching up and tugging you down to his chest before snaking his arms around your waist to keep you pressed against him. You don't try and wiggle out of his grip like he thinks that you might, instead you let him hold you, nuzzling your face into the collar of his sweatshirt.
"You're being weird," you mumble.
"No, weird would be me asking you to throw your phone away and never leave the house again so I'm the only one who gets to look at you," Touya replies, his fingers dipping under the hem of your—his—shirt and creeping up along your spine. "I'm actually being pretty normal, all things considered."
You huff out a little laugh and Touya feels the warmth of it break against the skin of his throat. You lift your face so you can look at him, and Touya admires the view of you from so close up. The curve of your lips, the colour of your eyes, the tip of your nose. He could look at you all day, he realizes then. Every part of you. Every inch and dip and curve that makes you up. He could study them. Map them out with his eyes closed, long committed to memory.
You make him feel kind of insane, sometimes. More insane than usual, anyway. He worries that he likes you too much.
"What are you thinking about?" you ask him quietly.
You.
Touya purses his lips.
It wasn't his intended goal, but he's happy to accept the little kiss you press against them anyway, a laugh slipping out of his mouth and into yours before you pull away. He shuts his eyes, letting his head tip back against the bed again, letting out a long, exhausted breath.
"Wanna help me set up an instagram account?" he finally mutters after a long stretch of silence.
You push yourself up overtop of him, and when he cracks one eye open he finds you looking down at him excitedly.
"Really?" you ask him incredulously, but undeniably pleased by the prospect.
He nods a bit, pulling you back down against his chest. He lets his eyes shut once more.
If deleting your account is out of the question, he might as well have his own so at least he gets to admire it.
You wiggle comfortably in Touya's hold, your TV show long forgotten at the other end of the bed, content to just let your boyfriend trace lazy circles into your thigh as your legs tangle together with his.
Touya's eyes pop open again suddenly, an unpleasant and not-so distant memory rushing back to him.
Your gaze meets his own, a quiet concern swimming behind it.
He takes your face in his hand.
"How do you block someone on Instagram?"
a/n: alternate universe where touya didn't go insane and goes to UA :] dedicated to the loml @saerins cus we're on our touya brainrot + went a little insane with this instead...
"jesus doll, excited now are we?" touya muses, a smirk on his lips as he lets you push him inside your small and cramped bathroom.
rolling your eyes, you motioned him to sit down on the toilet lid while you prepare the shower. making sure the water is just the right temperature or else you might burn touya's head off when you rinse the hairdye off his hair
"is this the part where you remove your shirt and i suck on a titty?" touya says more of a statement rather than a cheeky question. you stop yourself from hitting the boy that has his signature lopsided smirk with the shower head you were currently holding
with an exasperated sigh and a pinch to your nose bridge, you answer him
"just shut up for once, touya. besides, won't your dad kill you if he found out you're dying your hair black? or did you forget that he almost kicked you out of the house when he saw your piercings for the first time?" you raised an eyebrow at your boyfriend who decided at the last minute to dye his hair as a sign of "rebellion against his "uptight, stick far up his ass dad" his words, not yours
"he can manage" touya huffs, scoffing at the memory of his dad yelling at him for acting and starting to look like a good for nothing delinquent or in endeavour's words, a villain. "it's not like it's my duty to keep our image of a "perfect family". if only the rest of the world knew what its like to have endeavor as your deadbeat dad!"
touya and endeavour never really got a long per say.. at least that's what touya tells you whenever he had a shit day training with endeavor. days where he would train with his dad were usually days where he'd opt to spend the night at your dorm. away from all the chaos inside the todoroki estate that he unfortunately refers to as his home
but to touya, at the end of the day, you are his home. his peace, his serenity, his anchor in this world where hell could break loose at any given moment
"don't give me that look, doll" touya sighs, shoulders dropping when he noticed you were staring at him.
"i just don't want to see you hurt all over again. you almost gave me a heart attack that one time when you showed up here unannounced" you pout, letting touya slowly wrap his arms around your waist.
touya’s arms tighten around your waist, pulling you closer. “i can handle the old man. it’s his problem if he can’t accept me for who i am,” he mutters, resting his forehead against your stomach
"i mean, he already stopped giving a shit when he realized i can't withstand my flames, so who am i to give a shit back after everything he did to me?" touya continues, his grip tightening
you run your fingers through his hair gently, feeling the warmth of his presence. “shhh, we already talked about this" you shush him, "all i'm saying is that i just want you to be safe, touya. i can’t stand seeing you hurt,” you whisper, your voice tinged with worry.
he looks up at you, his usual smirk replaced with a rare, sincere expression. “i know, doll. i know." touya presses light kisses on your stomach, "but I have to be true to myself, even if it means pissing off endeavor” he chuckles, the pads of his thumb rubbing circles on your exposed skin
you both stay in that position in silence for a bit. just finding comfort with each other's presence. just the way touya likes it. nice and quiet. a contrast to his daily hellish life back at his own home
that is until touya starts to feel his scalp burn a little
"okay fun time's over, doll. my scalp's startin' to kill me here" touya shudders, slowly unwrapping his arms around you as he reaches for the shower head in your hand.
you stifle in your laughter watching him make a fuss inside your cramped bathroom.
that is until, you remembered that your bathroom tiles were pearly white and if he's rinsing off black hairdye then–
"TOUYA MY TILES!" you let out a screech
"too late, doll" touya pokes his tongue out at you, hair dye getting all over your walls and cold tiles.
you were gonna pay one hefty fine if you don't clean this shit up as soon as possible.
now, touya sits on your bed. drying his freshly dyed jet black hair with a towel and you're not even gonna lie to yourself. he looked a little too good for your liking. touya has always been a looker himself but with this new hairdo.. oh lord
"why are you looking at me like you want to eat me?" touya chuckles, hanging the now stained towel around his neck as he leans back on your bed with his elbows propped. he was giving you bedroom eyes, quite literally and figuratively.
what a tease!
"nothing. just making sure that i'm still talking to touya and not his emo alter ego dabi" you mused, plopping down on your bed next to him.
touya laughs at your comment. eyes turning into crescent moons
“thanks for everything, y/n,” touya says softly, voice full of genuine love and appreciation.
your heart swells at the sight of touya like this. you would move mountains if you could just to see touya– your touya happy.
"i love you, touya" you lean in for a kiss. to which touya happily returns the favor.
"i love you more than life, doll." touya smiles lazily against the kiss, cranking his neck to the side for more access as he deepens the kiss.
moments like these with you is when touya feels like he's on top of the world and he hopes it will forever stay like this cause to touya, he can face anything the world throws at him when he knows you'll be there right by his side

Little Brother
-> Touya Todoroki (Dabi) x Reader (they/them pronouns used)
characters: Touya Todoroki (Dabi), Shoto Todoroki
genre: fluff
summary: touya introduces you to his family and the youngest todoroki grows attached to you
warnings: established relationship (between dabi and the reader), mentions of past trauma, this is set on a alternative setting where quirks aren't a thing and the todorokis are trying to be a better family
I do have more ideas for different parts so let me know if you're interested in this becoming a series of dabi fluff feat his family (in particular shoto)

When you first started dating Touya, meeting his family was the scariest thing you could think of. Touya was honest when he told you he and his family had a rough start but were trying to get on good terms again. He always seemed happy when he was talking about his siblings, telling you silly stories about their childhood or how the weekly phone call with them went.
After a few months of dating, Touya decided to ask you to visit his family for the weekend. You could have lied and said you had exams or even been honest and tell him you weren't sure but the way Touya’s eyes sparkled in hope made you unable to deny his request. His mom seemed sweet and from what Touya told you, she already loved you; his dad you weren't so sure but your boyfriend assured you that he wouldn't be mean or anything; you were almost sure you would get along with Fuyumi; Natsuo was too much like Touya so if you managed to get along with your boyfriend, you are sure you will be able to get along with Natsuo; Shoto, however, was the person who scared you the most. He was only twelve and you know how hard teenage boys can be to deal with. Touya guaranteed that Shoto would like you, that he doesn't even talk much but that made you more nervous. How were you supposed to bond with a twelve year old boy that doesn't speak? More than anything, you wanted Touya’s family’s approval and that meant every single one of them.
The days prior to the big meeting, you kept annoying Touya with multiple questions about Shoto, trying to get an idea of what you could say to start a conversation. Your boyfriend wasn't very useful on the matter, simply brushing you off with “you’ll be ok, stop worrying your pretty head.” You hated him (but not really). So you ignore the urge to choke Touya to death and mentally prepare yourself. If everything goes wrong, you will have to lock yourself in his room until it's time to leave.
Your university isn't that far away from Touya’s house so, as he drives, you start to think that maybe you should have stayed home. It might be too soon to meet his family, you haven't been dating for long. Touya’s hand squeezes your thigh as a sign of reassurance. You try to focus on the music for the rest of the ride. Your heart starts beating faster when Touya parks in front of a house. You leave the car without thinking, set on getting this over with as fast as possible. Your boyfriend goes to the trunk to get both of your small bags for the weekend and starts walking in front of you. He knocks on the door and your breath gets caught in your throat. A boy that looks too much like Touya without his piercings opens the door and instantly hugs your boyfriend. Touya ruffles his hair and steps to the side. “This is my partner.” he introduces, then says your name. Natsuo bows slightly and tells you to get in, expressing how happy he is to meet you. There's a faint smell of food coming from the kitchen and two women that look so much alike come out to say hi. You bow at them but Rei has a warm smile as she hugs you, communicating how much Touya has talked about you, making your tough looking boyfriend blush slightly as he tries to hide his face on his sister’s hair. Fuyumi hugs you next, asking you to drop the formalities as they already consider you family.
“You're trying to steal my partner already and we just arrived.” Touya says in a playful tone.
Rei pats his cheek before pulling him for a hug, squeezing him a bit and saying she missed him. You hear the sweetness in Touya’s voice as he murmurs “I missed you too.”
Fuyumi lets everyone know that dinner is almost ready and that their father will be home soon. From what she said, Shoto was in his room doing homework but she thinks it's an excuse to hide for a little longer since he seemed nervous to meet his big brother’s partner. Your heart warms a bit to the thought that you weren't the only one nervous about this meetup.
You follow Touya to his room to place your bag and take a moment to look around.
“Your room is so… empty.”
“Never really decorated it. Plus, most of my stuff I took with me to the dorm.” you hum in acknowledgment. “I told you they would like you.”
“I still haven't met your dad or your younger brother.”
“I don't give a fuck about what my dad thinks and Shoto will like you.” Touya hugs your waist from behind, resting his chin on your shoulder. “It’s hard to believe but he's a lot like me. And you managed to make me fall in love with you so I think it will be fine.” you sigh, turning on his embrace to hug him back. “I love you, don't worry too much.”
You whisper that you love him back and hug him a bit tighter. Touya always managed to feel like home and you felt comfortable in his arms.
A soft knock on the door catches your attention and Touya lets you go to open it. A boy with two colored hair stares at the both of you. “Mom said dinner’s ready.”. Touya looks back at you and you bow slightly to the boy, introducing yourself. Shoto simply turns around and leaves the room. Touya is quick to follow him and hooking his arm around Shoto’s neck, ruffling his hair violently while arguing with him to have manners. While you were a bit sad about the way the youngest Todoroki reacted, you didn't blame him and you laughed at your twenty years old boyfriend acting like a baby as they both got scolded by Rei.
Todoroki Enji was already in the living room. He was definitely the scariest person in the room right now. Tall and broad with a dark aura. He was hard to ignore, towering over anyone and everyone. You got goosebumps with the way he glared at you and you were quick to bow respectfully as you introduced yourself yet again. Touya doesn't say much more than a simple “Hey dad.” before Fuyumi is urging everyone to sit down at the table. His dad definitely had an undertone that made the room feel more tense, quieter, the complete opposite of Rei’s calmer, sweeter spirit.
You were already expecting some questions but you didn't think Touya’s dad would be the one to ask you most of them, giving small hums every time you replied. You didn't know if he was judging you or not, the man kept a straight face all the time and his eyes were impossible to read. His voice was audibly softer when he talked to Touya and you wondered if that was his way of trying to be better to his son. Fuyumi is the one telling you a bit more about the family, talking about how she wants to be a teacher and Natsuo is about to start high school. Then she proudly spoke about how smart Shoto is in school, always getting good grades. Apparently, Shoto was the smartest among the siblings, Fuyumi said, which made Touya hold back his pout as he argued that he was doing pretty well in university. “I bet Shoto couldn't get better grades than me!” “He’s only twelve Touya!”.
The dynamic of the family seemed a lot better than how it was during Touya’s childhood but you notice that Shoto doesn't take his eyes away from the food as the conversation keeps going.
“What's your favorite subject?” you ask him, quietly so the attention doesn't go back to him.
“I don't know.” Shoto simply says before asking to leave the table, then getting up to put his dishes inside the washing machine.
Your brows furrow as you watch the boy leave the room. You decide not to bother the young boy for the rest of the night, focusing on helping Rei clean everything before settling down on the couch next to your boyfriend. Touya’s dad announced that he was going to his room and his mom followed soon after, telling her younger kids that they need to go to their beds soon, getting protests from Natsuo. The four of you decide on a movie and you cuddle your boyfriend’s warm body, drifting between being awake and asleep merely twenty minutes into the movie. Fuyumi is the next one to leave the living room, admitting that she's already tired. She ends up dragging Natsuo since he was almost asleep on the couch, leaving you and Dabi alone in the living room.
Dabi plays with your hair as he murmurs in a soft voice “Are you feeling better? Calmer?”. You nod, cuddling closer to him as you take a deep breath, feeling his scent bring you comfort. “I’m sorry Shoto was a bit rude.”
“It's alright. I understand.” you murmur sleepily. “I’m not mad at him or anything, it's not my place. I believe we’ll have more opportunities to talk.”
“Yeah, I’m not letting you go so you'll definitely have more opportunities to talk to him.” he chuckles, pulling you closer. Let's go to bed, baby.” You let yourself get dragged to the room by your boyfriend. Like he usually does, Dabi helps you take off your clothes and change before softly wiping off your makeup while your eyes fight to stay open. He will then change his own clothes quickly to snuggle you in bed. Dabi always makes himself appear scary and people usually say he's intimidating but you have to disagree because, as Dabi hugs your waist and hides his face on your chest, he always looks like a cuddle away from actually purring. Dabi argues that he will have nightmares if he's not being held by you so you spend most nights with him clinging onto you while you play with his hair until he falls asleep. It's only fair that he asks for that now that he's back in his childhood home.
When you wake up on the next day, Saturday, your boyfriend is shaking you awake because his brother already came calling him for breakfast. Breakfast is a lot quieter than last night's dinner. You help Rei clean everything, not missing Shoto asking Touya if he wanted to play a video game with him. Fuyumi is sitting on the floor, books scattered all over the coffee table and Natsuo is almost falling asleep on the couch. Shoto and Touya are sitting side by side, each holding a controller while they choose a character in Mario Kart. Rei announces that she's going to the supermarket, kissing all of her children’s forehead before leaving. Touya pats the place next to him when he sees you and you quickly sit down, striking a conversation with Fuyumi about what she is studying.
“You're shit at this game.” the youngest Todoroki murmurs. Touya gasps dramatically, a hand going on his chest as he looks at his brother. “Shoto! Language!” his brother simply rolls his eyes, snatching the controller away from him.
“Do you want to play with me?” It takes you a few seconds to realize Shoto is talking to you, his arm stretched in your direction. You can't control your smile as you reach for the controller, ignoring the smirk Touya sends your away. Shoto doesn't talk much unless he's replying to a jab his brother sends him. “You're a lot better than Tou.” Touya, like the drama queen he is, immediately jumps to try to tickle his brother, putting his head on a headlock. You're left to pull your boyfriend back, warning him about how Shoto is getting redder by the second because of the uncontrollable laughter. Shoto cleans the tears in his eyes while you're holding your boyfriend in your arms to stop him from jumping back to tickling his brother. With his back turned to you, you make a signal with your head, hoping Shoto understands the message. He's still laughing when he starts tickling Touya and you do your best to keep him in place as he starts screaming apologies.
You smile as you watch the two brothers catching their breaths side to side and you understand why Touya said his younger brother was a lot like him. As they sit next to each other, you can see the similarities in their expressions. Touya scares you by dropping his head on your shoulder, still breathing heavily. “Are you sure you're 20?” you ask, not able to stop your giggles. “Keep laughing and you're next.”
“I won't let you.” Shoto’s voice surprises you. “They're cooler than you so I can't let you attack them.”
After that day, Shoto visibly grew closer to you. It was barely noticeable but he didn't seem as uncomfortable with your presence. You would hear him ask Touya when were you going back during their weekly calls, begging your boyfriend to visit them the next weekend and bring you along. Touya would argue and whine that his little brother was trying to steal you from him but you would just shut him down by flicking his forehead. You certainly started seeing Shoto as a little brother too and couldn't be happier that he liked your company. Even if it made his older brother act like a baby every time you spent time together. You don't even remember a time when you were nervous to meet Touya's family.

cw: none other than dabi's foul language
summary: dabi encounters a cat. i continue to spoon-feed this man happiness. based on this prompt by the lovely @scarlettcryptid ♡

Before he knows it, a quiet ‘Pss-pss-pss’ leaves his lips.
He tries it all.
Clicking his tongue, saying - whispering - “Here, stupid fucking kitty”, because god forbid someone hears. Slowly putting his hand out, some more ‘Pss-pss’-ing - anything that had worked on the neighbours’ cats when Fuyumi did it.
Here he sits; Todoroki Touya, a man stripped of all dignity at the sight of a fat cat.

The concrete is cold underneath his palm. Dabi welcomes April’s spring breeze, a strand of jet black hair tickling his cheek as he pulls the strings of his hoodie tighter. The dewy scent of the morning air is overtaken by the intense smell of steaming hot Yakitori, fresh off the grill, bought - not stolen - bought with his own, hard-earned cash money. (That, admittedly, he had stolen.)
You’ve got to indulge, the vendor had shouted, in the little pleasures! Treat yourself to life's delectable delights! Two plus two, Weekday special! Don’t miss out on-
“Screw you,” he’d told her, shoving the money on the little silver tray next to the register, scowling when she still served him with a bright smile, one that reminded him of Fuyumi’s excited grin every time she’d successfully pulled off a trick on her beautifully painted Kendama. Fuyumi would be so upset, he thinks, if she knew where he gets his food from these days.
He pulls the first skewer from the paper box, diligently inspecting a grain of Szechuan pepper. Dabi hasn’t laid eyes upon a spice in months - especially not one this pricey.
No, ever since he’s made a temporary home in the outer area of the city, it’s been nothing but dumpster diving and collecting restaurant leftovers for him. Stale bread. Expired cookies. Plain rice, cooked in an old bean can. Salted butter. Some Chili powder on top of his potatoes, if the old man at the soup kitchen was feeling generous.
Compared to the barely digestible nutrients his body runs on, the sight mere inches from his face is a divine gift.
After turning it over once more he finally takes a small bite, careful to pull the piece of chicken off the skewer with his front teeth. He’s become even more sensitive to temperature lately, and his teeth are the most annoying aspect. Not the sizzling of his flesh when he overuses his quirk, not the burn behind his eyes as they go dry. Those he’s gotten used to rather quickly. But when most of the food you eat is either cold or poorly reheated, the sensation of something hot is bound to cause major discomfort.
It’s not as bad as he expects. Neither the temperature sensitivity nor the taste. He begins to chew more boldly, savouring the harmonious balance between onion and garlic, sea salt and pepper, topped with tare sauce and just a hint of lemon. Say about the outskirt markets what you will, but those street food vendors do know how to grill a chicken.
Dabi doesn’t notice how quiet it’s gotten until something chirps behind him.
A cat.
A rather well-fed cat.
A cat that technically isn’t overweight, but its thick fur coat still makes it look a little fat.
Black with a white tummy and some spots of orange near its paws, sitting two arms’ lengths away. Its eyes follow the skewer as he moves it to one side, then the other, then dangles it upside down. Some grease drips onto the grass of the porch he’s sitting on. He finishes the remaining pieces of chicken and pulls out the second skewer, eyes shifting between his precious meal and the overly attentive cat.
Finally, he decides to pinch off a small piece, chewing at the spiced crust until it’s gone. He tosses the plain chicken towards the cat but to his surprise, it flinches and retreats behind a large flower pot.
The little fucker.
Wasted half a bite of perfectly good food.
Dabi turns his attention back towards his steaming Yakitori. Some time passes. He doesn’t know if it’s seconds or minutes that he zones out looking at the flowering apricot tree in the distance, but he’s pulled back to reality by soft chewing noises. Careful not to make another sudden movement he shifts a bit, just enough to look over his shoulder. Sure enough, the feline is greedily nibbling at the slice of meat. The two of them make brief eye contact before turning their attention back to their respective meals.
The sound behind him subsides shortly after and is replaced by a soft purring, one that he knows isn’t directed at him. He lets the cat have another piece from his third skewer nonetheless, this time giving it a gentle toss so it lands a few inches closer.
Still visibly tense, it takes a few steps forward and sniffs at the chicken before gulping it down in a few bites. Greedy shit, Dabi thinks, as he sacrifices yet another precious piece. He puts it down at his side, rubbing his fingers together. The cat’s attention is on the meat immediately, ears twitching as it courageously inches closer towards Dabi. He finishes the last of his Yakitori, never breaking eye contact with the cowardly little furball next to him.
After a thorough standoff, the cat’s curiosity gets the better of it. It keeps its stomach low as it sneaks across the ground, stretching its long neck to sniff at the finger that Dabi used to pull the Yakitori off the skewer earlier.
“If you bite me, I’m sending you to the coat factory.”
As if that theory was being tested, Dabi feels a sudden nip at his fingers. Cursing, he pulls back slightly, only to see the mischievous fucker’s pupils go wider. He wipes the bits of chicken grease off in the dewy grass and offers his palm again, checking both sides of the street to make sure nobody’s looking.
As if to taunt him, the little furball pounces and takes a swipe at Dabi’s hand before he can turn his attention back to the porch. It chatters in surprise when the man pulls away just in time.
Fucker, as Dabi decides to dub this newfound enemy of his, darts toward his other hand where he’s drawing lazy patterns on the concrete. With its claws half out and its tail puffed up, it races toward the wall, around the flower pot and jumps back onto the lawn to take another playful swing at Dabi’s limbs. Minutes later, he’s got the little menace chasing his fingers in circles, losing balance here and there and rolling over ever so often.
He’s focused, eagerly following the cat’s every move, trying to predict its attacks by the flick of its tail, an ear twitch, pupils that narrow ever so slightly before it leaps forward.
He’ll never admit it. That for once, there’s a sudden lack of grief in his heart.
Only when the first ray of sunshine hits the outer edge of the garden does he let himself fall backwards. The cat is but a purring weight on his thigh, stretching its paws across his lap with the softest ‘Meow’. Eyes closed and arms stretched out, he inhales slowly and holds his breath until he feels his pulse slow down. Dabi doesn’t care that his hair is getting a little wet, doesn’t care that the grass tickling his ears stings a little, doesn’t care that he’ll probably have red marks on his hands for a while.
If he shuts his eyes hard enough, he might still be able to convince himself that Touya is dead.

Summary: The villain patient that can't seem to get out of poor Y/Ns head.

“But Nurse Y/N, my hands are all chained up. How am I supposed to eat? C'mon be a doll, and help a guy out,” Dabi purrs, and you roll your eyes. Ever since the new, very much villain, patient has checked in; he has been determined to take up all of your time.
Your time desperately needed being a sought-out nurse. You haven’t told Dabi yet, cautiously staying a distance away from him, but with your touch, you provide natural pain relief. Sort of like a drug would do but without the side effects. But it only lasts about twoish hours.
Dabi is one of the strongest villains of the League of Villians, and here is his, caught and acting like a child. He has two broken ribs, a punctured spleen, a concussion, and a sprained wrist. Other than the spleen that has been taken care of, the rest were not deadly. But he acted like he was on his deathbed.
Day three of his antics, and you were already used to it. You were assigned to be his personal nurse because, for some reason or another, Dabi here has threatened to murder every single one of your coworkers. It actually surprised you, seeing how whiny and docile he was with you. But then again, he is a villain. They are full of surprises. “You already ate, and I am doing something right now. Do you want me to call in my assistant to help you?”
“The one with the big nose and dreary eyes?” You sigh but hum in agreement, knowing if you react to that, he will just fiend off the attention. “Pass. Why would I want him when you treat me so well, pretty?” You refuse to blush. He was just teasing you; you were just another toy to play with. “Awe, don’t ignore me. Cmon, I won’t bite.”
You raise your eyebrow like this, and for the first time since you walked into his room, looked at him. “You tried biting the other nurse yesterday!”
At your reaction, he tilts his head to the side and shows a lazy grin. “There’s that pretty face I have been waiting for.” You groan and begin to grab your tools and leave the room when he stops you. “Hey–Hey! Okay, yes, I did try bite her, but she deserved it! I called for you, not her. The bitch tried to touch me.”
You turn from the door and face him, a frown on your face. “And if I try to to touch you, will you bite me too?”
The smirk doesn’t fall. “You want to find out?” This time you do blush. You can’t help it. The man was just insufferably flirty. You sigh loudly and finally leave the room. He groans when the doctor passes you and walks into his room.

Dabi has been watching you for a couple of weeks now. The first time he saw you was when you helped Toga out, surprisingly. You must not have recognized her because when you saw the child-like villain covered in bruises and scratches (from a fight with a hero), you immediately stopped your walk from home to help her. Of course, the girl tried to kill you, but with one glare from the fire welder, she stopped. You didn’t see him at the time, but he was definitely there, just watching from the shadows.
He watched as you took away her pain, and he remembered his eyes widening and heart thumping. You could heal him, make all of his pain just slip through his fingers. No more of the nauseating pain of the staples in his skin and the nights where he stayed awake from the burns that sometimes would flare.
It was an infatuation at first. But as the days went on of him watching you walk home, he grew more and more attached. He would send wounded people and animals to you to see just how you react. Eventually, after the first week, he grew more bold. He sent wounded villains to see how you would react.
As expected, you took some of their pain away and told them exactly what to do to keep their wounds clean and how exactly to heal them. Dabi, of course, watched and made sure non of them tried to touch you. But he knew you also had some sort of moral because when you left the injured villains, you called the police, who sent heroes that tried and failed to scout for the villains.
You were kind. Even if technically you weren’t interested in villains, you were interested in helping people. He burned, and you healed. The two of you would never work, but still, Dabi couldn’t stop the infatuation. The one stemming from your quirk and now onto just you as a whole.
So, he got himself arrested. He didn’t put up much of a fight and knew that the heroes would kick his ass and send him to the hospital. The blue-eyed man went out of his way to provoke them, but still, his injuries were minor compared to what he wanted. If he were in critical need of help, you would have your attention on him and solely on him.
And now, he waits daily for you to walk into that dreary room. He waits for you to finally take away some of his pain when he closes his eyes and pretends to be asleep. He has to keep his moans in as, finally, for the first time, all of the itching and burning pain just disappears for a short period of time.
He was assigned other nurses before, but it pissed him off so immensely he threatened to kill them and their families. He would do it if they didn’t have some sort of relationship with you. He didn’t want to provide you with pain you couldn’t take away.
But finally, after two days of being in the hospital, you were assigned his nurse, and things couldn’t be better. Of course, if you talked to him more sweetly, of course, but he would take all that he could get. It has been four days since he has been under your care.
“Was that really necessary?” Your beautiful, perfect voice asks when you walk in for his morning assessment. Instantly his fowl mood from seeing the Doctor vanishes.
He grins at your furrowed eyebrows, “What, the fake screaming or the fake seizure?”
“Both!”
He chuckles lightly at your exasperated expression. “You were taking too long. Missed my pretty little nurse.”
You roll your eyes and sigh, walking over to the man. You look over his chart as he continues to ramble, “I had some dreams about you last night. You were naked of course, and you were in front of me–down on your knees and–”
“Dabi!” Your furiously blush is back when you cut him off, and he grins. He loved it when your cheeks turned adorably pink and your eyes looked everywhere except him. He loves your flustered expression. You were just so easy to tease. “N-No more of that, okay. You are giving me a hard time, Y’know, the other nurses think I am…doing something with you.”
He tugs against the chains just to hear them rattle against the bed. Trapped. But with you, so he could take it. He looks up at you with amusement. “What, fucking me?”
You pinch the bridge of your nose and sigh. “Yeah. The others are beginning to gossip, and if corporate believes them, I could lose my job. So, cool it with the flirty remarks, yeah villain?”
His eyes narrow at your remark. Were the others bullying you? He looks at the dark circles beneath your eyes. Were you staying up because you were worried about losing your job? The sick bastards.
He leans forward, as far as the cuffs allow him to, and whispers near your ear, “Y’know my little nurse, I can just kill them all. Then you wouldn’t be afraid.”
As expected, you jump back, and your eyes widen. You look toward the police at the front of his door and gulp, hoping they didn’t hear anything. When you do, though, you do a double take on your actions. Why were you afraid of him being caught? You should be reporting what he said to the police, not hiding it.
Dabi could basically read your mind. He saw your eyes flash to the police and had to bite his lip to hold back a smile. This was progress. On the first day, you reported him immediately for saying something. But now, you were almost hiding him. “No need to scold me, I know, I know. I won’t kill your friends and I’ll try to behave myself.”
You sigh and nod. “Thanks, Dabi.” You hate that you are beginning to treat him like he was another one of your patients. Or even more, a friend. He is a villain.
“Try. No promises, pretty.” You lightly elbow him in his shoulder, something you never do to patients. When the both of you realize this is the first time you touched him (other than at night or earlier mornings when you use your quirk), the two of you stare at each other. Then, slowly that small, villainous smile creeps upon his face, and you gulp and turn around.
You grab his breakfast from the tray behind you and shakily place it in front of him. Once down, you nod and begin to scramble away. Then you hear the sound of metal on metal and pause. You turn around and see his eyes flash to the cuffs around both of his hands, and you gasp in embarrassment. You knew he was chained up and couldn’t eat, but for some reason, you didn’t process it. He was driving your brain haywire. “Right! Sorry, so sorry. Let me grab you a spoon.”
Then with shaky hands and a wobbly smile, you dip the spoon into the oatmeal and raise the spoon up to his mouth. His eyebrows raise as your usual confident and professional composure slowly begins to fade.
He knew he was finally beginning to play an effect on you. So, he opens his mouth and lets you feed the disgusting hospital food into his mouth. Those crystal blue eyes stare at you as you drag the clean spoon away from his mouth. For the first time in a bit, he is silent, no flirtatious remark, no whining, no threatening. He just stares at you. The silence made it hard for you to focus.
But eventually, he gets tired of the food. So, after one last bite, he finally speaks. “Thats enough, Doll. Thank you. But I’m feeling rather tired, mind if I rest for a bit?” This was the first time that he was kicking you out. It was strange, so you quickly nod your head and scramble out of his room.
The two policemen give you a questioning glance at your fast departure, but you just smile clumsily and walk to your next patient, completely distracted by those piercing blue eyes that you can’t seem to escape.

Day five of caring for Dabi went the same as the fourth. Dabi making you feel flustered while you just trying your best to ignore it. He was a villain, after all. But, no matter how hard you try, the past two nights, your mind always drifts back to the man.
Whether or not Dabi threatened the others or not, you don’t know. But now, the other nurses don’t seem to mention the two of you. In fact, they seem to tiptoe around the topic of the villain under your care. When you told your patient about this, he seemed to be rather happy to be flirting with you again. You don’t know why you told him about the nurse update. He shouldn’t be flirting with you at all; you basically encouraged it with the new knowledge!
Either way, time went on, and now, it was day six. His spleen is basically healed, and he shouldn’t be at risk with any of his other injuries. He was leaving tomorrow. Not just leaving; going to prison. The thought makes you feel uneasy. “What is my pretty nurse thinking about now?”
You blush, being caught, and quickly shake your head. “Nothing much.”
Dabi smiles, knowing by the tint in your cheeks what exactly you were thinking about. But he cuts you some slack and changes the subject. “So, Y/N..” You turn toward him with a lack of a nickname. He chuckles. “What is your quirk?”
Of course, he knew what it is, seeing you use it on him every morning and night, but he wants you to use it on him when he is supposedly awake. Plus, you may have happened to forget to do it this morning, so he is not feeling as fantastic and refreshed as usual. “Oh. Well, I can take away peoples pain.”
He smiles at you. “Yeah? How?”
“Through touch. It’s simple really, just a light touch and my patients feel completely fine. But of course this can be dangerous, because we need pain to show our body we need treatment. They still can die, but they wouldnt feel any pain and wouldnt know really other than the physical signs that they are dying,” You explain, your professionalism coming back to you. You don’t usually share the darker aspect of your quirk, afraid others would find it scary, but for some reason or another, you felt comfortable enough to share with him.
Dabi nods, already have thought of ways your beautiful quirk could be deadly. That is another reason why he was drawn to you in the first place. Like a poisonous flower. Pretty but if needed to be, deadly. “Can you test it on me?”
This was it. This entire time you used your quirk on him when he was sleeping because he was a villain. Your quirk wasn’t necessary for a patient. It was only to help. He killed people. He should be suffering. But yet you couldn’t let the man wither in pain. So, you turned to helping him in his sleep. He shouldn’t know that you were making him feel better. He didn’t deserve it.
But now, everything was so strange. You wanted to show the man that you can help him; make him feel better. “Yeah. Alright.” He smiles at you, the smile that makes your heart do circles and causes you so much confusion.
You close your eyes and press your hand to his forehead and activate your quirk. You can feel his gaze on you; you know that those crystal eyes are staring right through you. It is so much different than him being awake.
He lets out a sigh. The pain disappears, and so do the uncomfortable pricks of the staples. Just like before, everything begins to feel alright. Your hand leaves his body once completed, and he wishes his hands weren’t bound so that he could grab them and keep them there. He hasn’t felt such gentle warmth in such a long time. But he can’t, so he just watches your eyes open, and your kind smile fills your face.
“I’m leaving tomorrow,” He murmurs, and your smile falls.
You look toward the floor in thought. How things are going to be back to normal without the villain here? How boring it is compared to being with him. You lightly scold yourself for thinking that. You were grateful for the job. And how could you complain when he was going to prison? This seemed like a dream compared to that. “Yeah. I would say, I’ll see you around. But, you know…prison and everything.”
To your surprise, he laughs at this. His body shakes with a smile, and the metal clacks with the bedrest from the movement, and you can’t help it. You begin to laugh too. You laugh as you think about how crazy you were for falling for a villain and how much it is going to hurt when he is gone. How the hell did someone you met less than a week ago, make you feel like this?
But then, someone on your pager breaks the moment. It’s an emergency. You sigh and quickly stand alert while Dabi’s laughs die down. “I got to go. I’ll be back for your dinner, alright? Please don’t be too bad for the other nurses, I can’t help you all day. It’s an emergency.”
He looks at you with that smile again. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll see you tonight, my pretty little nurse.”
You nod and linger at the doorway for a second before finally turning and helping the next patient.

You didn’t see him for dinner. The new patient was in a critical car crash and needed high amounts of your quirk for them to feel alright during the surgeries. They ended up making it.
It was 11 pm. Dabi has bound to be asleep. He should be, considering he is leaving tomorrow at 7 am.
You begin to put away your tools and sigh. You wonder if he had a hissy fit when one of the other nurses tried feeding him. If he threatened them or tried to bite them. You can’t help but laugh lightly at the thought. He was so different than anyone you have ever met. You craved it.
But he was leaving. Tomorrow he is leaving to spend his life in prison. As he should, he is a villain that killed, and you are the fool and almost as equally bad civilian who fell for him.
His room was a couple of feet ahead of you. The lights were off, as expected. He has to be asleep. But maybe not. Maybe he is too restless with the thoughts of his future to be asleep. If you were in his shoes, you would be.
One peak couldn’t hurt. Just to check if he was asleep and maybe for the last time, use your quirk on him. As long as nobody saw you, it will be alright. So, you tiptoe to his door, and open it.
The nightlight, which all rooms have, is on, and you can see his figure on the bed. You can barely tell that his chest is rising and falling. He is asleep. Still, you walk over to him and place your hand on his forehead, like earlier and activate your quirk.
Once finished, you sigh and lightly trace your finger along the scars and the staples that cover his face. You wonder how painful that ought to be, and your heartstrings tug when you think about how you can’t help him anymore.
But then you have this thought. One only a villain should have. Why don’t you help him escape? You breathe as your eyes widen in the dark.
You gulp. Nobody will know its you, right? As long as he escapes, it’s not like he would tell anyone, right? He would owe you that.
So, you made up your mind. You’re going to free the villain. Metal pliers is what you need, but if you’re at a hospital, how the hell would get those? So you think of the next option. Or maybe something that can unlock them?
You scan the room, barely able to make out anything in the dark. A paperclip. You have seen one of the Youtube tutorials on how to break out of them using one of them. So, you quickly unbend the metal and get to work.
It’s dark. You cant see, and it isn’t working. Ten minutes have gone by, and you are next to the sleeping figure and struggling. You begin to cry and, out of anger, shake the cuffs and Dabi’s arm with it.
A quiet sob is let out. “God Damnit!” You whisper yell when suddenly the hand you are right next to you grabs your face. You let out a startled yelp into his hand, and he, in response, lets out a quiet “shh.”
When you finally realize that it is just Dabi, you pull away from the hand and take deep breaths. “What is my darling nurse trying to do? You tryna save me, Doll?” The hoarse voice whispers into the dark.
Tears continue to stream down your eyes. “I tried! I can’t do it. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Dabi. I wish-” You cover your mouth with another sob when you think about him spending the rest of his life in prison because of you.
“I know. I know. I was awake the entire time. You put up a bit of a fight, don’t ya, pretty? But hey, don’t worry. It’s alright.” You shake your head in the darkness, and Dabi smiles softly. “You know what I want you to do for me?”
“What?” You whimper quietly.
“Get in your car and drive home.” You begin to talk, but he cuts you off, “Don’t want you losing your job and sending you to prison for helping a nobody like me, hmm? I’ll be alright,” He reassures, which does absolutely nothing to you.
He uses the hand next to your face to brush away your tears. “B-But you’ll go to prison. For life.”
He hums in agreement. “Don’t worry your sweet little heart about it, alright? You trust me?” You shouldn’t, but you do. You trust in the villain you only met a week ago. You nod. “That’s it, good. Now get going, alright Doll? It’s late, and the roads can be dangerous.”
So, you stand as tears continue to fall down your face at your failure. You stuff the failed paperclip into your pocket. Then, you lean forward, and in the darkness, you find Dabi’s lips and press yours against them.
He smiles at first and then kisses you back for a second before he pulls away. “Go. Now,” He commands. You nod, and scamper across the room, leaving the villain behind for the police to find tomorrow and take away forever.

The next morning is rough. You want to skip work so badly, but you don’t want the nurses to gossip. So, you sigh and drive yourself to the hospital.
When you arrive, you are surprised by the influx amount heroes and police inside the hospital. You turn to a doctor for questions, and she says, “You didn’t hear? Dabi escaped! Heroes everywhere are looking for him. I am so scared, what if he comes back and–” Her voice is drowned out after you heard the news.
He knew he was going to escape. He didn’t need your help at all. Now you looked like the crying mess who horribly failed to try to help him.
Without meaning to, you find yourself inside the room that heroes are crowded in front of. You drift over to the bed, with the missing handcuffs. Your hands trail along the now-empty pillow, and you can almost smell him.
Then, the nurse in you comes back, and almost like second nature, you begin to strip the bed. As the sheets come up, a paper falls down.
You gulp, and your now trembling hands reach down and flip the small paper over. With messy handwriting and a burnt edge, you know this is Dabi’s work. Your heart thumps rapidly, and you can’t help but smile.
I’ll see you around, my pretty nurse.

Research suggests that the inability to fall asleep without background noise could be related to a fear of being alone, which is often connected to abandonment issues. This fear can stem from past traumas or deeply ingrained insecurities.

Another night in at your shift, the hospital was usually quiet (one of the benefits of night shifts). Sitting your things down, you could already see the red light on room 1003 blinking erratically as usual. Knowing the nurse before you hadn’t checked on the patient, a deep sigh left you. Though the thought crossed your mind on who would, he was a villain, one that destroyed half of Japan. However, at this moment he was a patient who desperately needed attention.
Knocking on the door softly, you could see the white-haired man stop pressing the nurse button on his bed. The room was quiet, and TV hours were limited to help other patients sleep, though this was a struggle with the Todoroki. It was as if he needed something to drown out the silence. Most of the nurses ignored his constant need, muttering things behind his back, that he deserved to suffer in silence.
“Everything okay, Mr. Todoro-”
“Touya.”
Well, it was better than when he first awoke in the ward. Sedatives were used on the regular to calm him down, glares sent the nurses way when they called him anything but Dabi. A nod was sent his way as you came over to check his vitals, well he seemed fine physically (the best you could in his state). Deciding it was something bothering him in his mental state, you looked down at the man as he picked at a bandage.
“Can’t sleep?”
Blue eyes looked at the wall, a pout on his reconstructed lips as the male continued his silent tantrum. Sometimes it made you laugh to think he terrorized your country for a year. Still not getting an answer, you concluded that was the issue, knowing perfectly well he had a voice to correct you.
“I can get some hot tea if you would like?”
Again silence was the response, though he was getting more fidgety by the second. Your brows furrowed at how he expected you to read his mind. As if you knew him well enough to know what he wanted, oh how wrong he was. Trying one more time, you pressed on. “The ward is quiet tonight, what if I stay just for a bit to help you sleep? We can talk?”
That seemed to perk his interest, at least enough to get him to face you. His pride did not let him admit he wanted attention, that the silence was a reminder of how alone he felt. Taking a seat on the window bed, you looked out the window to see the parking lot. Some people coming and going from the ER downstairs.
“Are you going to talk or not?”
Breaking from your trance, you expected him to start the conversation, but once more he was reliant on your actions. As if he was doing you some favor by talking. Funny.
“Right...well, how do you feel?”
An irritated look was sent your way, silently telling you that was a stupid question. Okay, time for a new plan. Taking out your phone, you let the man see a picture on the screen. “This is my cat, he has some anxiety so he likes attention.”
Raising his brow, Touya eyed the picture, taking in what you presented. “What’s his name?”
You felt a bit proud of that, taking it as a nurse-patient bonding moment. Showing him another picture of your feline friend, you continued on. Going over the cat’s name and personality, more scrolling of pictures, his eyes never leaving your screen.
“What does he do when you have to leave? Sounds like a shitty life.”
While he wasn’t wrong, always needing attention did seem pretty tiring. You kept your mouth shut on saying the cat reminded you of him. With your phone now away, you went over the usual plan for your cat.
“Consistency helps, but I usually leave some sound on in the house so he doesn’t feel alone.”
“Must be nice, having such a pampered life.”
He almost sounded jealous of the cat, but that sounded silly. “Have you ever had a pet?”
Ignoring your question, Touya changed the subject. Probably not wanting to talk about himself or his past. “Can we just talk about stupid stuff?”
“Oh, sure.” The awkwardness didn’t leave, but you did as he asked. Going over your plans for the night and what you packed for lunch. He stopped talking, only listening to you go on. His eyes were closing by the second. Thinking he was finally asleep you stopped, though the man grunted for you to continue. Unsure what else to say, you looked back out the window and described the area. Hoping it would be enough to relax the man completely. “Some nurses are leaving, looks like they are talking. Maybe about their shifts? Looks like a woman is coming into the ER, she forgot to turn her car lights off...”
A good thirty minutes passed before you could hear his snores. A sigh of relief left you as you stood, happy he was getting the sleep he needed as well as the attention he was seeking.
On your way out, you made a mental note to talk to the head nurse about adding an extension of TV time for certain clients. At least for now, he was asleep, the rest of the night ran smoothly, so when he woke up again you didn’t mind one more nightly talk. Maybe you’ll get to know the man behind the villain, the one called Touya.

synopsis; dabi finds you awake late at night - and he's determined to know what's keeping you from sleeping.
pairing dabi x reader. ゚ ⋆ ゚⛆ ゚ ⋆ ゚
a/n; thought about u while writing this babes lol @michellexgriffey <3

There was a thunderstorm. Hard and fast - the falling rain showered down relentlessly over Japan. It didn't help that the League's hideout wasn't exactly a secure location this time around - you were all crashing at yet another abandoned site, one that took a single kick from Dabi to break the door and enter into.
You flinch at a particularly loud clap of thunder, wrapping your arms closer around yourself as you lower your head and squeeze your eyes shut - awaiting the next, dreaded lightening strike.
You had tried not to mention it - your terrible fear of thunder storms, to the League. It was such a childish thing to be afraid of, and you furiously wipe the tears threatening to spill as you take a steadying breath.
The worn out couch soothed your senses just the slightest bit. The dark leather was plush underneath you, and you can only sigh sadly as you sink further into the cushions
Hopefully the storm won't go on for long - you know that you won't be able to fall asleep until it has ended or at least calmed down a bit. You might just sleep down here in the common area for the rest of the night, there was no telling when this awful storm would come to a much needed finish.
Dabi watched you from the doorway, tilting his head with furrowed brows as he watched you curl in on yourself, eyes closed as you gently rocked back and forth -
"What the hell are you doing?"
Your eyes snap open - and he can see just how startled you are by the way you quickly unfold your legs from under you, turning to him with a wince
"Huh?" You croak, embarrassment evident in your flushed cheeks as he finally strolls into the room with relaxed strides. He was by your side within moments, dropping himself into the empty spot on the couch next to you as he rests his head against the cushions, turning to look at you
"You heard me. What are you doing up at this hour? Ya look pretty stupid rockin' back and forth like that." He says with a sharp grin, bright eyes practically burning into your soul as you try not to shudder
"I could ask you the same thing - weren't you complaining about how tired you were during yesterday's mission?" You recall, swinging your legs under you comfortably as he scoffs
"Yea, so what. Can't sleep anymore." He mumbles, shutting his eyes with a sigh as you turn to look at the clock - then back to him
It was 3 AM. While you were clad in a pair of pajamas and fuzzy slippers, Dabi sat on the couch next to you clad in full gear - which was his usual attire when he went out, not even his combat boots had been removed.
You realize how silly you must look to him with your pink pajama's, happy little kittens plastered all over the fluffy fabric.
"Do you have any pajama's?" You ask, gently tracing a small cat's face on your knee - the fabric of your clothes underneath you was soft as your finger pads pressed against it
"That's a dumb question - 'course I do. I can see you most definitely do." He says, smirking as he tugs gently on the hem of your shirt - you lean forward from the action, his face mere inches from yours as you blink away your surprise from the close proximity
"Yes, but - why aren't you wearing them?" You question, and Dabi has to stop himself from smiling when you tilt your head so adorably at him in confusion
"Do you know how much shit I had to do, huh? Didn't even have time to get ready to sleep." He says with a huff, rolling his eyes before they shine with realization as he suddenly turns towards you with narrowed brows
"Now you didn't tell me why you're awake, y/n." He says, and you can only swallow the lump in your throat as he moves his face even closer to yours - you were afraid to move, even the smallest shift of your face would make his nose bump against yours
"I told you." You whisper, and he leans closer with his smirk only growing wider as you grip the couch beneath you
"I can't fall asleep eith-"
BOOM.
You reel back with a strangled gasp, hands moving to cover your ears as you squeeze your eyes shut - your hands tremble as lighting strike after strike rolls through the sky - practically shaking the structure of the hide out as you let out a distressed cry
Stop stop stop - please stop.
You remain that way for a few moments, forgetting completely about the man in front of you as your eyes remained close and focused entirely on the snapping thunder outside -
After a few beats of silence, you open your eyes and slowly remove your hands from your ears - letting out a quiet yet relieved sigh as the lightening quieted. You eyes move up and -
Oh.
Dabi stares at you silently, his usual stoic expression replaced with something softer as he raises a brow
Sighing in embarrassment, you rub the back of your neck - knowing how visible the blush on your cheeks must be with how hot your face felt
"I'm afraid of thunderstorms." You say quietly, eyes downcast as you waited for Dabi to poke and tease you - laugh at how pathetic you were. You expected nothing more from the heartless villain you called your comrade.
He doesn't say anything - he just keeps looking. Watching you with this blank stare - but - somethings different. Maybe it was his lips, which weren't pulled into their usual frown. They remained relaxed now as he watched you. Or maybe it was his hands - fists that were usually balled up at his sides remained slack in his lap as he finally spoke
"And that's why you can't sleep?"
You blink at his response, unsure with where he was going with this. He always has such an interesting way with words.
"I guess. It's stupid - I know." You confess, eyes moving to just about anywhere that wasn't Dabi's eyes - or the expanse of his chest that was visible under his tattered shirt.
He's quiet for a bit, but his eyes never leave you. You shrink under his gaze - gosh, why did he have to be so intense about everything?
Finally, he stands up. He moves to stand in front of you - long lanky legs are the only thing you see until you crane your neck up to look at him. He peers right back down at you - moonlight from the window shining on his piercings as he stares down with those eyes. He was devastatingly beautiful - and you didn't want to accept how those eyes seemed to follow you everywhere. You swore they were always on you - his piercing gaze always seemed to eventually trail back to you.
"Get up." He rasps - his tone held authority showing you there was no questioning his demand. His scarred hand was outstretched towards you - and you blink up at him before carefully placing your hand in his palm - one that was much bigger than yours, and he easily curled his fingers around your hand as he tugged you up.
You follow behind him as he wordlessly begins walking, his hand held a firm grip over yours as he maneuvered through the hallway - walking up the short staircase until he stopped in front of his room
His free hand twisted the door knob - and he enters the room and tugs you inside -
Your heart is beating faster and faster, the blood rushing to your head when you watch him kick his shoes off, and then, tug off his shirt.
You freeze at the sight of him shirtless - the skin thats kept hidden under layers of clothing are on full display for you as his muscles ripple while he tosses his shirt onto the floor somewhere
He turns to you with a small smirk on his lips when he catches you staring at him with parted lips - he leans against the bed frame while merely tilting his head towards the bed
"Get in."
Your eyes widen as you realize what he was saying - what he was offering.
"Dabi - "
"I'll only ask once. It's your choice - you can go back to your room if you want. Or you can sleep here, so choose."
Your heart is beating so very fast - and your clench and unclench your hands as you swallow the lump in your throat. He extends his arm towards the small lamp at his bedside - blue blames shooting from his fingertips as he lights it
"I can have a fire going for you if you want some light. Where else are you going to get such service, sweetheart?" He cackles - his laughter causing your shoulders to fall just the slightest bit. It was so rare to hear him laugh - you only ever did hear the sound when Shigaraki was scolding him or if he was watching someone hurt themselves - like slipping down the stairs - he seemed to find those type of things amusing.
But this laughter was different - something rough around the edges, but genuine pleasure in his voice as you looked towards him silently. The flame villain you had known was being soft - like the fire inside him managed to melt a bit of his frozen heart.
"Really?" You ask breathlessly, and the sound of your voice has Dabi's eyes darkening
"Come here." He mutters, remembering the panic in your eyes during the thunder earlier - he pulls you with a single hand pressed onto your hip, gently pushing you onto the bed as you fall on top of the crumpled sheets
He moves between your legs, placing both of his arms on the bed as he nudges you with his knee - gesturing you to move
You push over quickly, kicking off your slippers as they fall somewhere on the floor
He yanks the blanket off, and the cold air rushes to you almost immediately. He's laying beside you within a minute, throwing the blanket back over your bodies as he lets out a relaxed sigh
"I'm suddenly feeling very tired." He announces, crossing his arms over his chest as he quickly presses his eyes shut
You snuggle your head further into the pillow - his lingering scent strong and consuming your senses as you let out a hum of appreciation
"Ok. Goodnight." You whisper, a smile on your face as you tighten the warm blanket around you
"Yea yea, go to sleep." He mumbles with a sigh
The rain fell quietly outside the window, the gentle pitter patter and Dabi's reassuring breathing was the thing to lull you to sleep.
Dabi woke up the next morning with a weight on top of his chest - it takes him less then a second to realize it's you, clinging to him so tightly, like your life depended on it.
Your head is curled up against his naked chest, and you seem to still be in a deep sleep as you lay there - he can feel your bare legs wrapped around his torso, and he lets out a huff of laughter, shaking his head in disbelief
He doesn't move you. Instead, he positions you so your entire body was on top of him, and he wraps his arms around you to keep you secure on top of him.
Let's just say you are very confused when you wake up on top of a snoring Dabi - who had his arms lazily draped over you as he slept soundly.
Set in the same theme as this
A little side note: Touya, from my research, means 'arrow of light' so I wanted his son's name to have a similar theme so Tadaaki means 'bright light'.

Daddy!Dabi, sorry Touya, who keeps having random toys delivered to your house. You're sure the driver knows your name by now since you're getting a parcel every day and to make it worse the little demon child seems more interest in the box and wrapping paper than the actual gift inside the damn thing.
"Tadaaki, I swear to God."
You sat on the floor next to him as he tried to ingest yet another piece of paper from the floor, wrestling the small sodden pieces from his hand and replaced it with his dummy even as he screwed up his face in frustration.
"Just let him eat it."
Shaking your head in exasperation, you turned to the window and glared at Touya. The grin on his face as he crouched on the window ledge made you even more frustrated so you threw some paper at his stupid head.
"Very helpful, thank you."
A snort as he jumped down, the thud as his boots hit the floor before he quickly removed them and replaced them with the slippers you chose for him. They were huge Smurf feet, something you would tease him with when you were together, and when you saw them in the local shop you just had to get them.
A loud squeal as Tadaaki stood up and toddled over to his dad, Touya was still a little hesitant as the little hands held on his larger ones. You could see the gloves he was wearing, something you noticed after you met in the park and assumed it was to protect Tadaaki from the staples. A louder squeal this time as Touya hefted him up in the air, the dummy landing on the floor as your son flew up in the air.
"You know, he just ate. If he-"
"Oh shit!"
"-pukes it'll be your own fault."
You couldn't help but laugh out loud this time, your son looking awfully chuffed with himself as his dad looked like he was about to throw up himself. Holding Tadaaki at arms length, his face turned away as he thrust him out to you and pulled the jacket and t-shirt he was wearing off and wiping himself down with some baby wipes while mock glaring at you.
"You can stop laughing, brat. I learnt my lesson."
More Soft, Needy Dabi 💙
☆彡 Your boyfriend Touya, who will crawl onto your lap and beg for cuddles when you’re trying to play a game on your computer.
“I don’t give a shit about your ‘pvp,’ gimme attention,” he whines, unplugging the mouse and throwing it across the room.
☆彡 Touya having a temper tantrum when you swat away his hand in public. You’re in a crowd and it would be easier to navigate separately, but he wants to hold your hand now.
“Gimme. Gimme. You’re so mean,” he complains, crossing his arms and literally pouting.
☆彡 Touya getting mad when you won’t let him lick the spoon after you bake some cookies. You don’t want him to get sick from the raw dough, but he interprets that as you being a meanie.
“Gimme the stupid spoon. Please? Pretty please? C’mon, I’ll be fine, I don’t get sick. Especially not from some stupid cookie dough,” he babbles on and on, eventually just taking the spoon and the bowl from the counter when you’re not looking.
☆彡 Touya, who is now throwing up at three in the morning because he ate raw cookie dough, is whining and begging you for sympathy while you hold back his hair while he’s “throw-uppie.”
“Is not my fault… just wann’d cookie dough… now I’m all throw-uppie…”
You sigh and pat his back while he bends over the toilet and gets all that cookie dough out of his system. You want to yell at him, but there’s something about a grown, scary man sick from eating cookie dough that’s just a little cute.
☆彡 Touya, your dear, sweet sweet Touya, who just tore open several staples on his chest because his dense ass just walked straight into a table. You have to fix him up while he swears at the table.
“Stupid fucking table… who even put it there… gonna burn it to ashes… fucking table…”
☆彡 Your boyfriend Touya, who is absolutely refusing to let you out of bed. It’s nearly the afternoon and you have things to do, but Touya has thrown his body on top of yours so you physically cannot move.
“Touya, can I get up now?” you ask. “Nope,” he responds plainly, shoving his face into your neck and falling back asleep.
☆彡 Cute, adorable Touya, who is letting you put little braids into his hair, along with some butterfly clips and a flower crown.
“Oh, you’re so cute, Touya,” you smile, kissing his forehead. “Hell fucking yes I am,” he says with a devious smirk on his face.
In Autumn

thanks @dabisqueen for the lil beta read 💙
warnings: implied nsfw - MINORS DNI, established relationship, gen fluff.

In autumn, you insist that he wear a scarf despite the fact that he runs with the heat of a furnace - but it’s a lovely navy fabric with orange and yellow ends that make it look like leaves have fallen out of the night sky—and he loves it. He wears it, even when he doesn’t need to, tolerating the League’s jests and teases. That is, until they try to take it from him as a form of humor—he nearly set the bar on fire.
In autumn, he keeps your drinks warm for you, cradling your favorite mug in his hands like it’s something precious, refusing to let you hold it for too long when you take a sip out of fear that the liquid inside will grow cold.
In autumn, when the crisp wind licks over you, he insists you don’t need a jacket - no, his arms will do just fine, and he pulls you in against his side while you sit on the small couch on the balcony.
In autumn, he brings you sunflowers - you don’t know where he gets them, or how he gets so many. The only answer he gives you is a mumbled, “they remind me of you, so I picked ‘em for you.”
In autumn, he prefers the afternoon—not too warm, not too cold—and he loves how the sun illuminates your skin, how it makes a halo around your hair. And how it makes your eyes shine with a brilliance the glow of his flames can’t replicate.
In autumn, he favors the sunsets, because the sky is painted in such rich, beautiful hues, and you have a habit of taking photos of all of them, excitedly texting them to him if he’s not sitting beside you.
In autumn, his scent lingers, permeating your clothes and your furniture, hanging heady in the air when he comes in from the balcony with nicotine on his breath.
In autumn, he likes to have you cuddled on his lap, hands cupping your thighs and yours draped over his shoulders, sharing soft laughter and whispered words with you.
In autumn, he seems rushed - with daylight fading faster, he thinks that he has to kiss you quicker, harder, both of you covered in the red glow of the sun, his mouth rough against yours.
In autumn, like his kisses, the thrust of his hips is rushed - chasing the fading embers of the afternoon sun as it pours through the shades, casting you in warm shadows beneath him, your skin shimmering like gold.
In autumn, you always have to remind him to slow down; just because the sun is fading doesn’t mean you are, and it doesn’t mean he is, and he can take his time - after all, you have all night.
In autumn, he doesn’t want it to end, doesn’t want the sun to go down, wants to watch it stretch over your skin and dress you in oranges and reds and golds forever; a fire unlike his fire, warm and inviting.
In autumn, Dabi wants to pretend he’s capable of gentleness, that he’s capable of leaving your skin untouched by the heat of his fingers.

the pinks and blues of the sunset had faded away and since transformed into a black canvas illuminated by specks of light, signaling that the day was long gone and it was time for you to wind down. although it felt like you had walked through the door and eaten dinner only a short time ago, the numbers displayed on the screen of your phone told you that you had stayed up much later than you intended. with a groan, you went about your routine—shutting the tv off, locking the front door, and flipping all the light switches down before retreating to your room for the night. it only took a moment for you to trade out your scrubs for a pair of sleep shorts and a t-shirt.
despite having done everything you needed to complete before lying down, you were met with an uneasy feeling as you snuggled beneath your comforter. the ticking of the clock hanging on your wall did nothing to soothe you as it usually did. you didn’t have time to worry about whatever this feeling was; you had another long shift awaiting you in the morning and if you wanted any sort of rest, you’d have to get it now.
taking a deep breath, you closed your eyes.

“Think you’re getting sick.” Touya groans, his head lolling back against the couch cushions as you settle next to him. He can feel your fingers on his skin, skating through his bangs as you smooth them away. “You feel warm—warmer than usual,” the words are soft, concerned, spoken against his forehead. It makes him feel warm. Having someone be concerned for him. For someone to worry and care.
He huffs, “don’ get sick.”
Despite his petulance, Touya lets you poke and prod him, shedding his jacket and draping a cool cloth around his neck. Lets you smooth his hair back again and press your lips back against the feverish skin. Watches you with heavy-lidded eyes as you look him over, brows creased.
“Have you eaten anything?”
The thought makes his stomach churn, “no.” He feels guilty when you sigh, thinks that maybe he should have tried to eat something—toast or crackers—before you got home and found him curled up pitifully on your couch.
Your fingers tangle with his own, pressing a chaste kiss to the skin of his palm as you think, “I’ll make you some toast—maybe check if I have any saltines in the pantry still.” The guilt ebbs away when you smile at him, all soft and adoring.
“What about a bath? Get ‘ya out of these clothes.” He doesn’t answer, lolling himself towards you and tucking his face into the crook of your neck, “please, baby? Then I’ll let you hole up in the bedroom watching horror movies and The Princess Bride for as long as you want.” Touya scoffs when you raise a hand, “scout’s honour.”
He huffs a laugh against you, scrubbing his face into your neck. You won’t, you’ll hover over him and hand feed him soup and awful-tasting medicine until he’s better and he can’t help but want it. A selfish little desire curling in his stomach, to soak up all your affection and worry.
“Shouldn’t have let you find out about that,” he nips at the skin of your jaw and you know you’ve won, letting your fingers tuck sweat-curled hair behind his ear. “Usin’ ‘em just so I cave—mean.”
“Not my fault you like it so much, pretty boy.”
Touya stands slowly, braced stubbornly against the couch to fight the dizziness before you—equally stubbornly—duck beneath his arm. He caves immediately, body slumping against yours even as he pouts, “I can walk, y’know.”
“I know you can,” you placate.
The bath’s warm, sweet and smelling of sandalwood, steam curling around his shoulders and bubbly water lapping at his collar. He’s easy to maneuver, following the soft warmth of your palms and eyes weighing heavy as you scrub at the flush of his chest. “Good?”
“S’good.” Touya’s quiet as he watches you, chin thunking against the rim of the tub as his whole body goes slack in your hold.
The shampoo—which smells overwhelming like you—is cool against his scalp and he can feel his eyes slipping shut under the repetition, soft strands coiled around your fingers and slicked back from his eyes. Soft contented hums as you comb through his hair, leaning into your touch and soaking up the affection.
He lets you tilt his chin when it’s time to rinse, one hand shielding his eyes from soapy water and the other tipping a cup of water over him. It’s something he brought home one day—a knockoff Jaws shark, clunky and impossible to drink from but you still kept it. Let it hold your—and his—toothbrush and take up space.
You do that with all his things, let him take up space. You’ve carved out so much room for him in your life, to let him be. Half your movie shelf was picked by him and you buy all the muted fruits he loves and let him have claim over half the bed despite him barely getting to sleep in it.
Touya feels you lean in, forehead knocking against his own softly and palms cupping his jaw, “I’m done.” You smile when hazy blue eyes meet yours, letting him nudge himself closer until he can kiss you. It’s simple, gentle and soft, but he feels himself shiver. He feels warm and safe, taken care of.
He lets you dress him too, bundling him in a fluffy towel and oversized sweats.
“Sit, gonna dry your hair so you don’t soak through my pillows.” Despite the warning he still glares at you when you ruffle a towel over him, nipping at the skin of your wrist, before settling into the bed. It’s nice—even though he’d rather die than say it—to be looked after, preened and soothed.
It’s only after you have him bundled up on his side of the bed that his eyes open again, face cocooned by blankets and eyes dropping with sleep, “gonna let me hole up and binge watch now?”
“As you wish.”
You grin when he huffs, the corners of his mouth downturning to avoid his smile, “you’re a nerd.”
He’s already fighting sleep, head lulling minutely as he tries to keep himself awake. “You’re one to talk—now, scooch.” You don’t get in though, guiding him back into the pillows and tucking the blankets back under his chin. Then, seemingly pleased, you worm your way under him.
It’s quiet for a moment, nothing but the soft sound of waves and your breath—but he’s still awake. Stubbornly staring at your profile in hopes you’ll read his mind. You do. “Hey,” your fingers pause in his hair, tapping softly against the base of his skull. He hums against your sternum, making a show of cracking one, recently closed, eye to stare at you. “Kiss?”
“Needy,” he nips, propping himself up on an elbow, “now who’s gonna get sick?”
“Please, baby?”
He huffs again, eyes half-lidded and full of put-on annoyance, “really shouldn’t have let you know how much I like those. Nothing good ever comes from it,” he leans up anyways, capturing your lips in a soft kiss. And he lets you keep his cheeks trapped between your palms as he pulls away, kissing the tip of his nose and forehead.
“You know you love it.”

summary: touya didn't deserve you, he knew there was someone out there better for you.
note: touya makes me so sad :(( like why was he doomed from childhood

as he stared at his scarred face in the mirror, eyeing the roses and chocolates he'd picked out for you, he felt disgusted. he didn't even know how you stood to exist near him, he hated the sight of himself as he passed by puddles, hated the burning on his skin in the rain, even sun would cause him discomfort.
how could you love him if he could barely love himself?
he threw the roses and gift for you on the ground, gripping his head in anger. the sudden noise made you rush to his room and knock on the door.
at the lack of an answer, you still walked in, confused at the items on the ground. "..touya? you okay?"
as he looked at you, he felt small again. he felt judged and he hated it. "go away." he grunted, not looking over at you.
he felt the tears start to accumulate in his eyes, curse his sensitive nature. but you didn't leave, you never seemed to, you walked closer to him and held his hand. his scarred hand stained with blood that would never wash off.
"what's wrong?" how dare you? how dare you make him burst into tears, the blood staining his face and dripping onto the floor as he resisted the urge to start wailing.
his body wracked with sobs as you hugged him close to you. why did you even bother? he was a broken mess.
you led him to sit on his bed, you beside him soothing him, you hadn't said a word yet, waiting for him to speak first. and if he didn't? you wouldn't push it. you never did.
"did something happen?" you asked, rubbing his arm and dabbing at his tears softly.
he shook his head, not trusting his voice right now.
"is it about someone?" he nodded.
"is it about.. me?" his breath hitched and you knew you were right. you brought him closer to you, confused on how you'd upset him.
"yes." he finally said under his breath. "why.. why do you even help me? why are you even with me right now? you could so much better."
you tilted his head up to yours and planted a peck on his lips. "touya, you are the best for me. i love you, not anyone else. don't think that about yourself."
he sniffled, and suddenly felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him.
he didn't feel worthy of your love, but he'd accept it anyway.
"were those flowers on the ground meant for me?"
"...yes."
he knew you loved him in the way you still took care of those wilted flowers and accepted the chocolates that hadn't been on the ground.
he knew you loved him as you held him to sleep and soothed the burning in his skin,
but you set his soul aflame, and he'd love you for that.

synopsis; you learn what a cry baby touya todoroki is when it comes to the things he loves - meaning you.
pairing dabi x reader ☁︎⋆₊˚

He didn't know when he became so attached.
It was frightening - how you'd secretly managed to crawl into the forbidden space known as his heart and claimed it as your own. He was completely unaware of the fact until now.
He wanted to kill Shigaraki for sending you on such a long mission - it had been two weeks since he'd last seen you, Twice, and Toga at all. He felt as if he was slowly going insane - your voice becoming a distant echo in his mind as he tried to hold onto the dreamy sound for as long as he could.
But how many nights had it been? Too many. He wouldn't say it - never utter the words I missed you. His pride was not something to be tested, but it seemed like he was going to be saying a lot more than he intended to voice when you returned.
Shigaraki watched Dabi pace around the common area quietly while his blue eyes kept discreetly trailing back to the clock - of course, he'd noticed it. How could he not when the buckles on Dabi's boots clink together with every step. Rolling his eyes, Shigaraki mumbled something along the lines of 'you're crazy' but the man didn't hear a word - to deep in thought as his excitement became something about to bubble over.
Dabi hears the muffled voices behind the door - and he quite literally races to the door, reducing his steps to a jog when Shigaraki lets out a hoarse laugh - what an asshole he was for teasing Dabi. Couldn't he see how much he missed you?
His hand finds the doorknob, and he yanks hard - almost ripping the weak door right off it's hinges as he imagined hearing your sweet voice again - no doubt you had missed him too, right? He hoped you did - it would make this reunion all the more better as he whisked you away from the League's eyes and took you somewhere more private - where he could show you just how much your absence had affected him.
But you're barely standing on your own two legs, eyes struggling to stay open as your fluttering lashes meet his gaze - you're clutching your stomach as blood seeps through your fingertips. Twice and Toga hold you up - both of their eyes wide in panic as they yell for Kurogiri to come help them
"Ah - I missed you."
That was all he got to hear before you stumbled forward, collapsing in his arms.
~
"Stop that."
Dabi doesn't stop, continuing to glare at you while you slept peacefully as Kurogiri sighs
"Please let her rest." He says softly, and Dabi scoffs while resisting the urge to reach forward and hold your hand
"Yea, whatever. Just - go away."
Kurogiri made no comment to the slight tremble in Dabi's voice. He merely turned on his heel and walked out of the room, silently closing the door behind him.
The second Dabi heard the lock click close, he pressed the heels of his palms to his eyes, breathing erratic as he tried not to flip the very bed you laid on.
"Stupid stupid... you're so stupid." He muttered, desperately rubbing at the burning sensation in his eyes as he tried not to let his gaze trail to your wounds - afraid as to how his body would react if he looked at the sight of your bloodied body again
"Meanie." You finally mumble, and his head snaps up at your voice. You have a playful pout on your lips, but he sees how much pain your in. Your shoulders are slack at your side, and you can barely talk as you let out a pathetic excuse of a laugh. It seemed physically hard for you to speak as you laid on the cot - and something inside him finally snapped.
"Fucking stupid - that's what you are. What the hell were you thinking? Huh? Come on, tell me! Tell me what was going through your idiot mind when you got hurt! What the hell did you tell me about being careful? You're such a hypocrite for not taking your own advice. You're a liar - I hate liars. I hate you. I hate you so much"
He's gripping the sheets you lay on - large hands tearing through the fabric as he stares at you with shaking pupils. He doesn't look done - he's ready to spew another string of insults your way - prepared to have you shaking with tears when he's done. But-
His lip trembles. He's forced to clamp his mouth shut and try to regain composure - but when he tries talking again, a muffled, scratchy sound leaves his throat before he finally drops his head - the heels of his hands back on his eyes as he rubbed furiously.
You stare back - lips parted as you tried searching for the right words - but it's hard because you've never seen him like this. And you are completely oblivious as to what you need to do to soothe him.
He was scowling, turning his face away from you so you couldn't see the blood trickling down his face as he muttered on about how long it took Kurogiri to nurse you back to health - and how it's your fault his back hurt from sitting on the chair beside you for so many hours as he waited for you to wake up.
He was rambling - just throwing words out hysterically while trying to stop the tears. They won't stop - and it burns. Badly.
"Touya." You rasp, and he looks up to meet your gaze with his attempt of a glare - but it looked much more like a silent plead. With all the strength you can muster, you push yourself over on the cot as he furrows his brows
"What are you doing?" He sniffs, and you pat the empty spot beside you on the bed with a smile
He stares at you, then where your palm is - before wordlessly crawling onto the bed with you.
He's nestled into your chest moments later, limbs carefully tangled with yours as he tries not to aggravate your injuries.
"Am I too heavy?" He mumbles, lifting his head off your chest as you shake your head no - gently pressing yourself against him as your hand reaches under his shirt - you press your palm flat against his chest as you feel his heart pound.
The two of you sit in silence for a while, the only sound being your lovers loud breathing and the sound of his thumping heartbeat as you relax against him.
"Did you miss me?" You ask, voice laced with something like a tease, and Dabi rolls his eyes. Normally you'd point out his sass - but you were too tired to say anything. Instead, you curl further into his warmth as he cradles your body as if it were the most fragile thing in the world.
"No." He lies, and you smile against his skin
"I missed you. So much - " you start-
"Shut up." He exhales shakily, pressing a fleeting kiss onto your lips to get you to stop talking before he hides his face back into the crook of your neck.
"I missed you a bit - just a little." He whispers, breathing in your scent as his muscles relax at the familiar smell
"Uh huh...you should totally spend the night with me here." You say, laughing lightly as his fingers trace mindlessly against your flush skin
"If that's what you want."
"Do you want me to tell you all about our mission? I promise, it was great up until the end!" You pipe up, and he slowly nods his head
"Yeah... yeah ok."
You two ended up falling asleep in the medical examination room. The small cot you laid on was no match for Dabi's stubbornness - who still managed to sleep comfortably with you on top of him. He was snoring before the sun set with you happily laying in his arms.

a/n; you can't tell me he's not a crybaby. look at the burns under his eyessss!
。°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)°。

I wanna write a fic about how the reader has to learn to cope with the death of Dabi alone, because... Who would cry over an infamous villain? One that's portrayed in the media as a heartless murderer? His mother, maybe.
In comparison with the loss of a pro-hero, most people would mourn for years - if not decades. Family and community surround their funerals with thankful words and the graves are lavishly decorated with fresh flowers to replace the withered ones weekly. But when a villain dies, such as Dabi, everyone gathers around to hug each other with a Brut in hand and shed tears as they rejoice. A party occurs, maybe for two days, before they are forgotten. Graves and burials are neglected and abused, grass and vines cover their headstones, and eventually, the earth eats away at them with time.
It's impossible to confide in anyone because... His actions were horrible - he inflicted terrible punishment on people who weren't deserving of it.
And yes, he is horrible for those things... You don't mean to justify his actions, but they don't know what you know. About how careful he was to you, how he would put your phone on the charger and put a blanket on you when you fell asleep late, or play house with you, though he was bad at it... Mixing up the red shirts with the whites while doing the laundry, or burning toast attempting to make breakfast.
As a person, Dabi wasn't great, and he wasn't good either. So... Why does your heart aches, your eyes burn, and your nostrils leak when you look down at him when you should be looking up?

Chapter 4

It felt normal, like you were in a typical relationship with a typical guy, and you tried to enjoy the moment as much as you could because you knew all too well that you were just living in a world of your own.
You kissed him again and moved back slowly to find his icy orbs staring back at you.
_ "Morning doll, did you sleep well?" His groggy voice sent shivers down your spine.
_ "Ye.. yes I did." You seriously had to do something about that stuttering.
He smiled and kissed you again, deeply this time, and you melted into his touch.
_ "You really didn't leave." You whispered against his lips and moved back to have a better look at him.
_ "I promised didn't I?" He replied and sat up scanning the room for his clothes.
You told him he could take a shower first while you prepared breakfast, and he suggested you take one together.
It was too late for you to be embarrassed after last night's events, but you couldn't help the blush that crept up your face. And you couldn't refuse him.
It was like a dream, waking up to the person you cared about the most, taking a shower together, having a silly talk over breakfast.. really, a dream.
_ "Last night, were you coming to find me? You had your coat on and were rushing out when I got here." You knew this conversation was coming but his question surprised you nonetheless.
_ "Yes, I was worried. I watched the news and saw the attack but you were nowhere to be seen so I came to find you." You whispered the last part because you realized that saying it outright made you look stupid.
_ "Me too, being there near the hospital reminded me of you.. I guess I wasn't thinking because the next thing I knew, I was at your front door."
Okay, maybe both of you were stupid. You giggled at the thought and he raised an eyebrow in confusion, but you shook your head and asked him: "How did you know where I live?"
He pondered for a moment before responding: "Honestly I followed you, I did that quite often actually. I hope you don't think it's creepy, I just wanted to see you." He answered you sincerely and your smile only grew bigger, you were so happy to know that you two were in the same place.
There was something bothering you though, so you had to ask: "What about leaving in the middle of the fight? Won't you be in trouble for that?"
_ "I might, but what can they do to me? I'll come up with something so don't worry about it." He said softly and kissed your hand reassuringly.
He looked back up to find you lost in thought, and before he could say anything you spoke: "Toya, what is this exactly? What are we?" Your feelings for him were a lot more than a simple infatuation, and much bigger to deny. And spending time with him only added to those emotions, so you had to know what you were getting yourself into.
_ "We can be whatever you want us to be. To tell you the truth, I never thought or even wanted to be involved with another person romantically. My life only revolved around the league and our missions, but ever since that day at the riverside, when you approached me fearlessly even though you knew who I was, that day made me reconsider some things." He stopped for a second and looked down before continuing: "But are you really sure you wanna be involved with someone like me? I'm a villain after all and I don't wanna ruin your life." He looked back up eyes filled with anticipation, he knew he was being selfish, but he couldn't stand being apart from you.
You blushed and nodded: "I never thought of being involved with anyone myself, I spent most of my life alone, no parents no friends, and it was good enough for me, but ever since I met you, you were all I could think of and I don't care if you're a villain or not, you're good to me and that's enough."
He pulled you into his lap and rested his head on your chest, and you could hear him sigh in relief. It was so endearing and you were so happy that you wished the moment never ends.
You spent the rest of the day together, lazing around, talking, kissing, cuddling, like any normal couple would do on a day off.
He had to leave eventually and it was so hard to let him go, but he promised to never disappear again and you believed him.
Going back to the league's headquarters had never been so hard. There was a lot of explanation to do and he wasn't ready for any of it.
As soon as he walked in, Shigaraki welcomed him screaming:
_ "What the fuck Dabi! Where the hell have you been?! How could you disappear without a trace in the middle of the fight?!"
Everyone was furious and looked ready to kill him, everyone but Himiko who was simply gazing at him while flashing her signature smile.
_ "Explain yourself please! Doctor Garaki and All For One are enraged." Atsuhiro tried to reason with him but Dabi started to get frustrated himself: "There is nothing to explain! I just wasn't feeling well and had to retreat instead of becoming a liability." They weren't completely convinced, but they had to let it go and focus on more important things.
He thought it was over.. until Himiko approached him, still smiling:
_"Dabi~ are you feeling better now?" It wasn't an innocent question and he knew it:
_"Get away from me nutjob I'm not in the mood for your games." He answered and prepared to leave, but stopped dead in his tracks when she continued:
_"Ah~ I smell love in the air." She practically moaned, blushing and wrapping her arms around herself.
What was that? Did she know something? Or was that just her usual psychotic personality?

_"Ah~ I smell love in the air." She practically moaned, blushing and wrapping her arms around herself.
What was that? Did she know something? Or was that just her usual psychotic personality?
Chapter 5 :

_ "What was that supposed to mean?" Dabi tried as much as he could to remain calm.
_ "Oh nothing~ I'm just saying the air around you is different these days. You're distracted, and now you're abandoning the mission? Something's happening and I think I know what it is.. I just wish I could prove it." She got extremely close to him and her smile grew bigger.
Dabi said nothing, he simply turned around and left. Thankfully she was just blabbering and had no idea who you were.
Time flew by quickly. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and before you knew it, your relationship with Dabi was nearing its ten months mark.
It hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows, you weren't dating a regular guy after all. Your time together was usually cut short and your dates were almost inexistent. You can't exactly have a walk outside or go to the amusement park arm in arm with a wanted criminal, but you were okay with it because you loved him.
The biggest struggle for you two was keeping your relationship a secret from the people who know you. And the task only got harder when Dabi decided to broadcast his real identity to the rest of the world a few months ago.
All eyes turned to him ever since that day.
You obviously were the first one ever to know his secret, he confessed it two months into your relationship. It clearly came as a shock, and it took you about a week to finally wrap your head around the idea. Dabi thought for sure that you would end things with him at that point, but it changed nothing of the way you felt for him. If anything, it got you closer to one another.
He still remembers what you said: "This is interesting, I would've never expected something like that.. but so what? We all came from somewhere."
_ "Nothing really scares you huh?" He breathed out remembering that day.
You lifted your head up from between his thighs, lips glistening and cheeks flushed. You tilted your head to the side confused: "Huh? Did you say something? Am I not doing a good job?"
You looked breathtaking wearing only his black tank top and kneeling between his legs. He took your arms and pulled you on top of him, his hard cock resting against your belly.
You grabbed the couch's headrest steadying yourself, still confused.
_ "No angel, you're doing a great job." He mumbled against your collarbone and nibbled you teasingly.
Dabi has always been apologetic towards you, he couldn't shake the feeling that you deserved someone much better than him, neither could he understand why you loved him that much.
He wished he could do a lot more for you, and it hurt him that you never ask for anything. He adores you more than anything else in life, and he would gladly die for your sake.
You ran your fingers through his hair and kissed the top of his head lovingly: "You're overthinking again aren't you?" You know him too well.
He looked up smirking and pushed your head down until your lips met. He kissed you deeply, nibbling and sucking your tongue, and you whimpered pulling his hair and rocking your hips against his.
You were dripping wet at that point and you wanted him inside you.
_ "Haah.. Touya please put it in already!" You struggled with your words as he was devouring your lips.
He wrapped one arm around your waist, effortlessly lifting you up and situating you right above his raging hard cock. He pumped it a couple of times before gently lowering you until he was fully hidden inside your core.
No matter how much you did it, that first intrusion overwhelmed you everytime, and he knew it, which is why he always gives you time to adjust before he starts moving.
His arms sneaked under your shirt tracing your skin, and his lips left yours to latch on to your neck. You tried moving by yourself but your shaky legs failed you.
_ "Touya.." You moaned rocking your hips as a sign of your impatience, and he smiled understanding exactly what you wanted him to do.
He palmed your ass cheeks squeezing teasingly before lifting you up and helping you bounce on his length. You whined and whimpered hugging him close to keep your balance as he pushed himself up.
You bit down on his shoulder to keep yourself from crying out louder than you already were, and only when he picked you up and threw you on the couch did you finally free his skin from between your teeth and allowed yourself to gasp loudly.
He wasted no time and slammed right back into your anticipating pussy.
_ "Uugh fuck baby you feel so good." He groaned into your ear and pounded you even harder, and all you could do at that point was grab onto him and wail as drool and tears messed up your face.
He sat up, fingers digging into your hips to keep you in place while his dick kept railing you into oblivion.
_ "Beautiful." He breathed out running his thumb over your parted lips before sticking it inside your mouth. And it drove him insane to see you unconsciously nibbling and sucking on his finger while your pussy swallowed his dick.
His thrusts became erratic as your pussy squeezed him harder. You were both so close to climaxing at that point.
_ "Touya.. I really.. rea.. really.. I love you.." You managed to utter as you finally creamed around him.
Hearing you moan those words and feeling you grasp his cock drove him to the edge, and he was about to pull out when you wrapped your legs around him, silently asking him to cum inside you, and he did. He buried himself deep into your heat groaning your name until you squeezed him dry.
_ "I love you too y/n never forget that." He whispered against your temple and collapsed on top of you.
You were too spent to move a muscle and you struggled to keep your eyes open.
You suddenly felt a cold air engulfing your body and you whimpered as Dabi's heat left your skin.
He chuckled and leaned back down to kiss your forehead: "I'm not going anywhere angel, I'll just run a bath for us and come back to take you." You smiled and nodded lazily.
Those moments were the best, if only they could last longer..
The next morning, you woke up earlier than usual because your boyfriend needed to get back to the headquarters before anyone could notice his disappearance. He asked you to sleep some more, but how could you? Your time together is limited as it is. And at least once in a while, you wanted to feel like you were in a normal relationship with a normal person.
That's why everytime he spends the night, you make sure to have breakfast together before he leaves.
You stood at the front door grabbing his hands. You were both reluctant to let go, but you had to.
And at least you would get to see each other again that night, he promised to have dinner with you.
He kissed you softly and lingered against your lips.
_ "Take care angel, I'll see you later."
_ "You too Touya, please watch out for yourself."
And with that he left.
Your eyes kept following him until he disappeared. Little did you know, you weren't the only one doing that.
_ "Huh, so I was right after all. Oh how exciting~" Himiko beamed watching the fascinating scene unfolding before her eyes.

You traced your burnt skin and sobbed, frightened about what the future holds for the two of you.
Chapter 7:

Dabi left your appartement right after you fell asleep. He gently cleaned you up and covered your body before walking out.
He thought it was for the best because he didn't want to see your sorrowful eyes.
Still, he wished he had more time with you.
He sighed dragging his feet back to the headquarters.
He thought everyone would be either asleep or absent, but when he walked in to find everyone gathered around screaming at each other, he knew something was up.
_ "He's here." Spinner announced pointing at him.
_ "Where the fuck have you been Dabi?!" Shigaraki was furious as he walked up to him.
Dabi's expressionless face didn't change, he was frankly more annoyed than anything else.
_ "Do I need to report how I spend my free time?"
_ "You don't. But when you let a civilian distract you from your duty, it becomes our business!" Shigaraki spat back.
Dabi's eyes widened, and he immediately turned his eyes to Toga.
_ "What did you do?" He was so close to incinerating her.
She was as furious as everyone else, but for a completely different reason.
_ "You're playing with that poor girl's feelings! When I saw you together I could tell she truly loved you and it made me happy. But then you shamelessly tell me she was nothing but a "stress reliever"? I will not allow you to drag her on! You should be ashamed of yourself!"
Dabi didn't know what to say, he couldn't find the words.
_ "Listen to me Dabi, I'll let it slide this time, but if something like that happens again I swear I'll kill her! We have a bigger goal here! Bigger than anyone else, so we can't let useless cravings distract us. Am I clear?" Shigaraki warned.
_ "You got it boss. Let's put it all behind us." Dabi tried to stay calm. He was internally grateful you two agreed to lay low for a while.
Thankfully, everything went back to normal after that night. Everything but the fact that you and him were still separated.
The marks he left on your body were gradually fading, and with them was the hope of you reuniting.
He told you he would be looking out for you from afar, but you wanted to see him too, even if it were for a few minutes.
Everytime you go back home from the hospital and pass by the river side, you remember the first time you met, and the first time you kissed.
And the once happy and nostalgic memories slowly turned into agony.
You stood there, in the same spot he did when you first met him, and looked into the horizon.
It was late at night, and the streets were empty.
_ "Touya, are you here? Are you watching over me like you said you would? Please come out if you are. Please let me see you.. just for a moment." You fought your sobs as you spoke, hoping he would hear you.
You closed your eyes and gave in to your tears.
_ "Hey troublemaker." That familiar voice you yearned for came from behind you, and you turned around flying into your man's embrace.
_ "I missed you! Touya please don't leave me again!" You pleaded desperately and it killed him to see you like that, even more so because he was the reason for your broken heart.
He pulled back to look into your puffy eyes and gently wiped your tears away.
_ "You idiot I missed you too, but be patient for a little longer please. I need to make sure no one would come for you, it's a risk talking to you here right now, but I couldn't help it, so I guess we're both idiots." He was trying to make you laugh, and it wasn't working but it was endearing to see him try.
He leaned in and locked your lips in a slow kiss. You sighed into his mouth and relaxed between his arms.
His tongue found his way to yours and you sucked the sneaky muscle hungrily. You felt him smiling against you before nibbling on your lower lip playfully.
You were out of breath, but you didn't want to pull away. You missed this, you missed him.
And suddenly a gush of cold air replaced his lips and you whined asking for more.
_ "You should go home."
You wanted to argue but you knew he was right. It was dangerous being together outside, so you just nodded and bit back the urge to cry again.
He pecked your forehead and your lips one last time before disappearing into the darkness.
_ "I'll wait for you." You whispered into the cold air of the night.
After that night, Dabi couldn't keep an eye on you for a while since the villains were already preparing for the final war against the heroes.
Days turned into weeks before he could finally find the time to properly visit you.
No one brought you up again after all, and everyone was busy with the preparations so he thought it was safe for you to meet.
He would never admit it, but his heart pounded in his chest as he stood in front of your door and knocked.
He waited, but you didn't answer, so he knocked again. And again, you didn't open your door.
His excitement soon turned into anxiety. Did something happen to you? He left you unattended for weeks so who knows?
He decided to visit the hospital and wait outside for a while, maybe you had a night shift, or maybe you were at the river side again.
However, you were nowhere to be found. And for days, he kept coming back to nothing.
Did you decide to move out and leave town? It made no sense in his head. He just wished you were safe, even if he never gets to see you again..

Did you decide to move out and leave town? It made no sense in his head. He just wished you were safe, even if he never gets to see you again..
Chapter 8:

He was clearly distracted. Missing most of the meetings and not paying enough attention when he does actually show up.
But for some odd reason, no one questioned his behavior.
Today too was no different. There he was, just sitting around and saying nothing.
They have an attack planned to take place in the city center in a couple of days. It would be the first out of many to hit different vital places each time. And today doctor Garaki was present for some reason, along with All For One who joined them through a video call.
None of that seemed to matter to Dabi, and unlike his mates who were clearly nervous and focused waiting to see what their boss had to say, he just sat there absentmindedly.
Your sudden disappearance broke him to pieces and drove him insane, and his mind played the worst possible tricks on him.
What if something bad has happened to you? What if you were hurt and alone somewhere?
He clenched his fists trying to stay calm, but he kept seeing your face and hearing your voice everywhere around him.
He was so lost in his thoughts that he couldn't even hear doctor Garaki calling out his name, and only when Spinner nudged his side did he finally come back to reality.
_ "What?" His voice was laced with clear annoyance.
The doctor let out an obnoxious laughter before repeating what Dabi couldn't hear the first time:
_ "I was saying that we are proud to have you amongst the team. I don't know if I've said this before, but you were the way to shake society's trust in their beloved heroes. Being the neglected son of their number one, and exposing him to the public." Dabi wasn't even listening, he heard those exact same lines before, ever since the world knew who he was, and frankly, it pissed him off to be stuck in there listening to the same broken record instead of searching for you. And right when he was about to announce his irritation, the doctor said something that left him in a state of shock.
_ "And just when we thought there couldn't possibly be anything else to top that, you go ahead and prove us wrong! Did you know that you introduced us to a remarkable quirk that would probably determine our faith in this war?!"
What was he talking about? Dabi froze as a frightening thought crossed his mind.
_ "What quirk?" He asked hesitantly, almost not wanting to hear the answer.
_ "Let me explain Touya kun." It was All For One's turn to speak this time.
_ "A few weeks ago, it came to my attention that you were having a little adventure with a civilian. So naturally I had to use my search quirk to find out everything there is to know about her. You know there is always the possibility of the heroes planting a spy among us, so I just had to make sure that..."
_ "What did you do to her?! Where is she?!" Dabi couldn't listen anymore. It all made sense, there was no way you'd leave without saying a word. You promised to wait and you've always kept your promises.
_ "Oh so it wasn't just a little adventure huh?" All For One remained calm despite Dabi's obvious rage.
_ "Take me to her! I want to see her!" Dabi kept yelling grabbing the doctor's collar. His eyes wide open and his body literally fuming as a sign of his quirk ready to be activated.
The frightened doctor didn't know what he should do for a moment until their boss spoke again:
_ "It's fine you can take him to her. I trust Touya kun will understand and agree with my decision once he sees how far we've come."
_ "Alr.. alright bu.. but please calm d.. down first." The doctor tried his hardest not to enrage Dabi further "Sh.. she's at th.. the lab I'll ta.. take you t.. to her."
Everyone around didn't dare say a word, and it wasn't that they didn't know about this little experiment because they did, but it's that they didn't expect such a reaction from Dabi. They've always assumed it was just a fling and nothing more, and even when they noticed his distress after they brought you back with them, they still didn't read much into it. So seeing Dabi in his berserker state scared them quite a bit.
_ "Please ke.. keep an open mind, we had to run a few te.. tests and see if her quirk was p.. powerful enough to be extracted."
Dabi stood in front of the lab's glass wall where you laid motionless, naked and bleeding everywhere. He could even see the dried tears on your cheeks and the fading marks he left on your skin.
_ "What tests? What did you do?" His eyes were still glued to your feeble body when he spoke, and the doctor said nothing for a moment until Dabi turned around with a threatening stare.
_ "We had to induce pain.. we caused injuries to see how fast she would heal her.. herself. And we kept increasing the wounds gradually.. Please understand that this is for our cause, and it's bigger than anyone of us. We have to do everything to.." Doctor Garaki couldn't even finish his sentence, neither did he realize that it would be his last one ever..
Dabi activated his quirk, without any warnings, and burned the man in front of him to the bones.
He couldn't begin to imagine the horrors you had to be put through. It killed him to know that while he was out there looking for you, you were actually down at the lab only a few feet away from him.
He placed his palm on the glass wall and activated his quirk again shattering it to the ground and running straight to your side.
He removed his coat and covered you with it before calling your name softly.
_ "Y/n please open your eyes, talk to me, I came back... I came back for you." You weren't moving.
And if his tear glands weren't burnt, he would've weeped. But he couldn't even do that.
He placed his head on your chest checking for your heartbeat, which was weak and unsteady.
He shook you gently, desperate to see you moving.
_ "Please open your eyes, just look at me. You don't even have to say anything, just let me know you're alive." His voice turned louder and even more anguished.
You finally moved, it wasn't anything big but he felt it beneath his hands.
_ "Yes! Yes angel come on open your eyes I'm begging you!" And you finally did.
_ "Touya.." You struggled to utter his name.
_ "Yes! It's me! I'm here and I'm never leaving your side again I promise. Let's leave this place together and start over somewhere else." And he meant every word. He's never thought of settling down or having a family of his own, but after you walked into his life and breached his walls, he started considering the idea seriously.
_ "I'd love that Touya. How I wish you'd told me this a little earlier. I don't think I can make it.." Your tears fell down and you couldn't finish speaking.
_ "No! No you can make it! You have an amazing quirk so use it now to heal yourself! Please do it!"
_ "I can't, they took it away already."
Dabi couldn't say anything for a moment, he was devastated.
_ "It's fine Touya.. I have no regrets.. I'm just happy I could see you again.. that's enough for me.."
_ "No it's not enough! I'm not giving up, I'll take you to a hospital!" He carried you gently in his arms and walked out of the lab, not caring that his colleagues were still in the same building because he was not about to let anyone stand in his way.
He heard you mumbling something and stopped to see if you needed something.
_ "What's wrong angel? Am I irritating your injuries?"
_ "Kiss me.." That was all you wanted.
Your request worried him, but he did it. He leaned in and gently pecked your lips. He wished he could kiss you deeper like he always does but you were in no state for that.
_ "I love you Touya.. I love you the most.. and I have no regrets so please.. never blame yourself because I wouldn't change a thing.." And those were your last words to him.. ever.
_ "No! No! Y/n talk to me come on! Don't do this! You can't leave me! How am I supposed to carry on without you?!" He was hysteric, he couldn't believe you were actually gone.
His screams reached his mates upstairs and they came running to find him on his knees, your lifeless body in his arms and an inexplicable expression on his face.
_ "You killed her! The only thing that mattered to me! You will pay for this!"
And he immediately activated his quirk on everyone and everything, including himself.
Your body was instantly gone, and his mates couldn't all escape in time, and even those who did, left with major injuries.
Dabi's skin started melting, and his flesh and bones appeared, but even then his raging fire continued flaming, devouring everything in sight.
He picked up the remains of your bones and gazed at them before speaking:
