Fourth Wing Spoilers!!
We all need a friend like Rhiannon who not only is supportive but who will also cover the three stars, wingleader tag, fourth wing emblem on the shoulder of a jacket belonging to your ‘enemy’ in front of your ‘childhood best friend’.

I feel like I just completly glossed over the fact that Imogen and Dain were second years in the same squad.
Which means they survived Rider’s Survival Course together.
The absolute insanity I’m descending into picturing Imogen and Dain at the same table sharing a secret, and then having to protect each other’s secrets while they get the shit beat out of them.
Imogen having to listen to Dain bond with the infantry about rules and order and respecting the rank while they wander lost through the woods, trying not to get torched by dragons.
And they had the full second year at Basgiath! Which meant they had the tourture chamber testing twice!
She went through all of that with him, and then was part of the squad that got sent to their deaths because of him. We really do not give her enough credit for not snapping his neck at the first oppurtunity in Iron Flame.
Violet: Xaden, keep an eye on Dain today. He’s going to say something to the wrong person and get himself punched.
Xaden: Sure! I’d love to see Dain get punched.
Violet: Try again.
Xaden:
Xaden: I will stop Dain from getting punched.
Dain: Did you have to stab Jack?
Violet: You weren't there. You didn't hear what he said to me.
Dain: What did he say?
Violet: “What are you doing to do? Stab me?”
Xaden: That's fair.
Violet trying to decide between Dain and Xaden at the beginning of Fourth Wing:
Violet: I tried. I even made a list of pros and cons.
Violet: Dain, good shoulder to cry on. Xaden, good shoulders.
I’m very curious about what the results will be because I’ve seen a lot of posts in defence of him recently
