Deirdre Desdemona - Tumblr Posts

One of my favorite things is making aus of my ocs and stories. I'm working on a new little project where I get to play as one of my favorite ocs, Deirdre. Weeeellllllll, I thought, what if he wasn't like he is?? I already have ideas for what could have been for him, what if I just kinda.. *makes an au* So here I am, making a good au version of Deirdre and Liana (his ex wife) where he does not commit horrible atrocities, he does not get banished down to earth, and the two of them were not pushed into an unhappy marriage. And so then I get to thinking.. what would it be like if Classic! Deirdre and Good Au! Deirdre interacted? What would he think? If just one thing changed in his life, something that was not ever his choice in the first place, and that change took him down a path where he was a much happier and healthier person. What would go through his mind? And for Good Au!! Realizing that the world he lives in is not how things are supposed to be. Seeing the man in front of him and knowing that THIS is who he is supposed to be. Oh and Liana! That poor thing.. The council was supposed to protect her, and instead it changed her into a monster. Changed both her AND Deirdre into monsters (literally for Des, poor guy) Aaaanyway, I gotta get back to document writing, I will probably come back to this with either some writings or art. No promises though.

Hello. I am Mackerel, or Mack for short. And it is about time I start posting on here.

This is Deirdre Desdemona. He's a character I've had for 4-6 years, and he has broken me. I am going to be using this blog to archive everything I can about him and the weird world building of his universe. (Art belongs to @deepobeepo!! They are amazing and incredible and awesome and you should totally follow them and commission them if their commissions are open!!!)

When interacting, please keep in mind that we are looking into a different universe where it happens to be 2014, for some reason. Why? I don't know, but it's been like that since I made him.

I will tag his stuff with "#deirdre desdemona" and "#desdemona archive". And so long as I have permission, I will post or reblog all art of him here with "#desdemona art".

There is a warning for eye contact with this entire blog, I am not sure what else but I will try my best to tag appropriately.

First official Deirdre Desdemona post! How exciting!

I will try to go over basic information and elaborate stuff later on. Hopefully I will remember to use this post to link to that. That being said, let's begin!

Deirdre Desdemona is a being known as a Star. On the Internet, they are more commonly referred to as Object Heads. Stars are not from earth but this is where he happens to reside.

Deirdre has two kids, Jaison Astraea, and Avira Astraea. Jaison has a television head and Avira has a cloud.

For some more overview style information.. Deirdre is 62,719,154 years old, he is masculine leaning and prefers to be referred to with he/him, he usually stands at 10'7 (but that changes frequently), he seems to use a cane for his right leg, and the gloves never come off.

If you were a human and looking at him, you would not see him as a giant eye. He would simply appear as human. His human appearance changes depending on whoever looks at him and what he needs them to think. Is he just someone in the background? Is he someone of comfort?

We will leave that there before I get carried away with markings and heads and skin and all that good stuff. You know how easy it is to just start rambling!

So now you know a little bit about Deirdre's general information, but what is he like?

I am glad you asked! There's been a few different renditions over the years but the central theme is that Deirdre acts all professional all the time.

He tries his best to remain emotionless and no-nonsense while in public. He's calm, stoic, and is usually a voice of authority and business.

Now around his kids? That's a completely different story. He lets himself be a little silly and goofy and dramatic.

I want to try to keep these a bit short, at least at the start here. So we're gonna end this one now. But there's a lot more to discover! Maybe one day I can talk about his interests or his job!

Stars as a species are covered in these brightly colored markings, the markings are in relation to what a star's head is. For example, Deirdre's markings are bright eyes, occasionally connected by swirls.

On the chest is a central marking, usually it is a representation of the head, as a bigger marking. Stretching out to connect to the rest of them.

Markings serve a few special purposes. From identification to bonding to even starlet care. Those all can be a topic for another day.

Deirdre does not like his markings, unfortunately. Though there are stars who would wish they had them. The markings have just steered him wrong far too many times. Maybe things would have been better if they were different..

So I did this with one of my friends and these are the ones I got relating to the Desdemona family and universe!! And my thoughts on them!!

First up: The man himself! Deirdre Desdemona!!

1 and 2 are ABSOLUTELY canon now!! I feel like Des would be the kind of person to start decorating for Halloween on September 1st, and Christmas on November 1st.

It would be so very funny if 3 was real.. it'd be so silly.

So Deirdre does not consume any human foods or drinks. He hasn't in the 62 million years he's been alive and I feel like he would actually explode if he started now. Hehehehe

Jaison's turn!!

So funny thing- the first one is kinda technically already true-

So.. she fell in a lake or a river when he was younger and the tv broke, they weren't able to get repaired because electricity wasn't invented yet. And he only got repaired because someone unknown left a box of alien electronics for Des.

Jaison is absolutely totally a Roblox kid!! She's a menace on that game!! Are they a bit of a bully with it? Maybe, but like, in a funny way.

Avira!!

I think this is just a holiday loving family. They go crazy for all the little earth holidays! They're so fun!!

... she what?? What do you mean???? How did a 9 year old get a bomb???? (the equivalent to a 9 year old, she's like 1000 years old or smth rn)

I had a lot of fun with this!! I'll reblog with the non family characters that you haven't met yet!!

It'd be soooooo funny if she got hit by a bus- especially considering why she's on earth---

Her and Telantes are like, the villains of the story, but they both want very different things and keep ruining each other's chances.

He's like that "How come nobody wants to.. be friends with me??" Heheehehe

Honestly it's not a surprise no one wants to be friends with him considering he's going to jail for kidnapping, stalking, murder, arson, terrorism, assault and battery, and evading the police- it's fine- don't worry about it- (slash silly)

ANYWAY THE TECHNOLOGY!!! So Telantes is an angel, like from heaven. Um.. I think if he were to have a phone he'd just be squinting at it trying to figure out what in the world it does.

You know.. I'm not sure if this is the proper way to tell this story. Usually the start from the beginning, but I've been just rambling nonsense at you. Doesn't feel like a very smooth way to show you this world..

However, if I'm having fun telling you like this, then why should I stop? Why does it need to be proper? If I want to tell you about my characters and world building by a series of rambling Tumblr posts pot together by diving through old stuff I posted in a role play server, I should be able to!

The only big problem is I want to tell you stuff I haven't set up yet. I want to tell you about the council and the incident and what the name Desdemona truly means in this world. I want to tell you about the stars religion and the old god and the creation story. I want to tell you about how this stupid eye broke the universe and how some fucking asshole is jealous it wasn't him.

I want to tell you about all the different outcomes to this situation. I want to tell you what he did. What the kids will go to do. About the stupid fights between an angel and a girl just doing her job.

I want to show you everything that's in my head but I just haven't set it up yet and I don't know how. I cannot stress enough how much I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. But I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Am I just posting this to bury that transformers post I made? Yeah. But it's my blog and my rules. Deal with it. (<3)
