Disability Acceptance - Tumblr Posts
Everyone need to read this: disabled people so they can stop thinking they are a burden or that it's their fault and abled people so they can know that is not OUR fault, and they realize that we are people too and they need to try to understand us and support us when anything like this happens.
It’s okay to stim in public. It’s not your fault if you need accommodations in public spaces. Your mobility aid is not inconvenience. Your disability is not an inconvenience. It’s okay if you need help reading a menu or if you need different menu that’s easier to read. It’s not your fault if your mobility aid interfered with someone else’s day (getting your chair stuck in an entrance), the world was not made with our needs in mind. It’s not your fault if you didn’t understand something socially and messed up. It’s okay if you need to wear ear defenders and sunglasses inside, you’re not rude, the lights and sound are just hard. You are not a bad person and you’re not a burden.
Disability pride month with: The Lost Blueprints cast!! From left to right: Boriav has a blade prosthesis, potential PTSD from the experience of losing his leg. Kiddry is autistic with low support needs, and has selective mutism. Edaamp is also autistic, having fluctuating support needs if things are tough, and has prominent separation anxiety. Marrit is partially blind in their right eye, and has auditory processing disorder. Burbyy has ADHD, is partially deaf in her right ear, has bipolar, and OCD. Skaben also has ADHD and is also deaf, though is fully deaf in his left ear, has depression and BPD. And Telede has ADD, and sometimes uses a cane if their psionics act up too a harmful degree. Their psionics alone are similar to a chronic illness in a way, due too spontaneously acting up when forcefully activated, like being grabbed for example. It may also cause Tel to have memory loss. Extra Telede doodles:

Practicing drawing Tel with their crutchesss
The music note charm on the right crutch was a gift from Glabam, a hand made trinket to keep Tel feeling confident when needing to use them after psionic flair-ups. Striking a pose also helps this life bound player still feel capable to do what he loves, which can mean a few things but, all are true-

We all deserve breaks and rest, it's a part of life 💙 Accessibility for all ♿
the accessibility settings are there for a reason. if you need to use them, use them
a reminder to my fellow disabled people it isn't wrong or make you less of a player for using accessibility options.
a reminder that playing on a low difficulty only or (like with games with minecraft) no difficulty
a reminder that using unlimited health options like in cult of the lamb is not bad or wrong and you are no less of a player for using it
turning brightness high on horror games like tattletale whether its because you are visually impaired or because you cannot handle the fear a low-light scene can cause.
disabled people are not any less a gamer for needing accessibility options. we are not any less a gamer for playing the game on easy. we are not any less a gamer because we are disabled and might not be able to get all the achievements or trophies or whatever a game has available.
we deserve to be able to enjoy the games we want to play
The only video games I enjoy are the ones where I am in control of what happens. Currently my favorite is Disney DreamLight Valley because I love Disney!
