YES!! There are moments when I'm just relaxing and doing nothing, and I really want to hug him, he's the type to take a while to process and he doesn't give in easily, but he returns the hug!!
Are there moments where you just cannot resist your f/o? Where do you have to hug them, nuzzle them or pat them? Either because you desire to feel their body warmth or they are just being so adorable that you cannot keep your hands off of them? Because they are smiling so brightly that you are just overwhelmed with the urge to show how much in love you are with them?
Are they returning the embrace without hesitation or do they need time to process it? Or perhaps they are flustered, trying to resist the urge to return the favor yet give in eventually. They appreciate it regardless of the reaction.
Long story short, make sure to show your f/o as much affection as possible, even in your own way. No matter what you do or how you do it, they will appreciate it!
