SUMMARY: Pumpkin carving with Dr Strange
Author: Cass
"Well. I'm a doctor and I shouldn't laugh, but... Really? Pumpkins? I thought you have something different for me" Strange shook his head in disbelief, his brow was raised as man was looking at you.
You frowned softly, looking at your mentor and rolled your eyes annoyed. “Yes, pumpkins. Come on. It’s October… Almost end of the month to be honest! Halloween!” You jumped happily. “We have to get ready for it!”
"Y/N.." man sighed deeply, rubbing his temples. "You always have been so stubborn. As you can see I'm kinda busy" Stephen pointed at his desk, full of books and papers. "But I suppose I can have a little break."
You whimpered happily and hugged him tight. „You can read and write later. Beside, we both know about your bad habit of spending whole nights on working.” You took his hand and pulled him to a kitchen.
You put one big pumpkin on a counter, humming happily. “Look! This one is just perfect! We can carve this one… And later we can do smaller one… I got only three, but they'll look amazing in front of the Sanctum."
Stephen took a seat on the one of high chairs. A cunning smile has crawled onto his lips. "I see you're prepared. But still scatty!" Strange let out a pearly laugh. "Do you have a pumpkin carving tools?"
„Hey! I’m not scatty and yes. I do have tools.” You giggled. “And! I have a keyhole Saw but… you need to open it… because I don’t have enough strength.” You offered him saw. “Mentor? Shall you?” You asked with soft smile.
Strange took a saw in his hands, but as soon as he did, he put it down onto counter. "It's.. How to say it? Oh! Too mainstream for me" he grinned at you and snapped his fingers. The saw slowly floated up and became dependent several centimeters above the counter.
You sat on high chair and giggled. "Ohh yeees... for sure it is, Doctor." You said and clapped your hands, watching him. "I can't wait!"
"What pattern you would like to have on the biggest pumpkin, Y/N?" Strange gave you a glance, smiling gently.
You hummed, thinking. "A CAT! Like a big, angry cat, with its fur standing up!" You explained. "I think it will be great, you know... Big, scary kitty cat." You meowed and laughed shortly after.
Strange snapped his fingers once again and the saw started its work. Within several seconds the patter was ready. "Is this what you have wanted?" Stephen stretched his fingers delicately.
You blinked and looked at him in disbelieve. "Stephen...." You got up from your seat and took his hands in yours. "This is not about magic, Mentor." You explained and let his palms free.
You picked up the small pumpkin and handled it to him. "Use your hands. It will be more fun."
Stephen was hesitating for a moment. "You good know that my hands aren't as efficient as they used to be" his voice was nothing more but a whisper.
"I know, but you still can give it a try... take your time, do it slowly... Step by step." You said softly. "I know, that I'm just a student here and you are a mentor... but trust me on this one." You smiled and sat back on your previous seat, taking other pumpkin into your hands, than you started to prepare it for carving.
Man rubbed his beard and nodded slightly. "As they say, if you won't try, you'll never know" he had been smirking at you before he started his precise work.
You nodded, smiling widely. "Exactly that, Mentor."
It took you a while to get fully into your task, you were watching Strange from time to time, but you never stopped your work. "How it's going?" You asked, looking at him.
"Like you see" Strange didn't look at you, he was focused on his work. Using a scraper, brunette was removing pulp from his pumpkin.
"I told you that using hands will be better." You giggled and returned to working on your pumpkin.
After an hour you were done with your little masterpiece. It was a simple design: big eyes and wide open mouth with sharp teeth. "It looks like you, especially when you are angry at me..." You picked it up and presented the pumpkin to Stephen. "Y/N! Get back to study!" You growled deeply, trying to imitate your mentor's voice.
Strange couldn't stop himself from laughing. "Haha! Y/N! Am I that gloomy, huh?!" man poked your shoulder, shaking his head.
He got up only to lean his upper body part on the counter. "Don't look at me like that, Y/N. I'm trying to do something more advanced" his eyes were glowing mysteriously in the light of a lamp hanging above your heads.
You laughed louder and nodded. "Not always, Mentor. Mostly you look quite good!"
You blinked, watching him, than you cleared your throat. "Umm... I will.. I will take cloak and I will go buy some good candles, because we need to put them inside."
"Don't worry. I'm an old-fashioned man" his voice was a mix of joy and proud. "Please, check the second cupboard counting from the window."
"Oh... Okay, okay." You nodded slowly and walked to the cupboard, you took a look into it.
You were looking for a while, but finally you found the candles. "Got 'em!" You yelled proudly with happiness
"C'mon. Let's lit them" Strange waited until you set candles into the pumpkins, then he snapped his fingers and in the same second all candles have lit up.
You gasped gaily. "WOW!!! I love that!" You jumped with excitement and hugged to Stephen tightly.
Man wrapped his arm around you, he was holding his head up. "I gotta say, I'm proud of myself."
Stephen's pumpkin had huge, rounded eyes and square mouth with sharp, long teeth. But his pumpkin had also a floral ornaments all around its oval.
You looked at his work. "WOW! You see?! I told you it will be worth a try, and your hands weren't a problem." You uttered with a voice full of pride. "We should take them outside and arrange them in some nice way next to the main gate." You looked at him with smile.
"That's the idea!" Stephen took the smaller pumpkin into his hands. The bigger one simply floated up in the air and started to levitate behind man, following each of his steps.
You blinked and watched your mentor, it was a nice feeling to see him that happy. You grabbed your pumpkin and followed Stephen outside.
You both walked outside through the main door. Stephen took a look around, searching for a place to set pumpkins. "Maybe there?" he pointed at the huge stone laying next to the alley. "I think it'll look right. What do you think, Y/N?"
You giggled and nodded your head. "I think it will be great. Put the big one first, and then we're gonna put smaller next to it." You said pointing at the place, that you thought will be good.
Strange used his power to set the biggest pumpkin onto the stone. He made few movements with his hands, causing the fallen leaves have surrounded the certain point. "Done."
You clapped your hands eagerly as you finished setting your pumpkin near the huge one. "Hooray! So... Mentor, I don't want to keep you away from your work anymore. You can go and do what you were doing before." You smiled at him.
"Oh! Thank you, ma'am, that in your magnanimity you've let me go back to my work!" Strange placed hands on his hips, making ironic grimace. Then, man bowed down. "Once again, thank you, ma'am!"
You laughed out loudly. "Thank you, Mentor! For making my day." You bowed down. "Thank you for help, for fun and for wonderful time." You said with great joy in your voice, being as ironic as you only could
Sometimes it was like that. Stephen Strange seemed to be very serious guy, standing hard on the ground. But the truth was, that deep beneath the mask he was wearing almost for the whole time, Stephen was a nice man, ready to play fool and prank people around him.
Strange whistled loudly. Within few moments, his cloak has flew to him.
"Okay. Let's see. You. Yes! You!" man looked at his cloak. Material shivered softly, when its owner was speaking. "Show me. Which pumpkin is prettier? Huh? Mine? Or maybe the one that belongs to Y/N?" Stephen chuckled darkly, being so sure of himself.
You shook your head in disbelieve. "Come on, cloak. Show us who is better in carving pumpkins." You said and shrugged.
Stephen crossed his arms on his chest. "C'mon. We don't have whole day!" he raised his voice a bit.
Cloak trembled. The crimson material flew to the place, where the pumpkins were set. After moment of hesitation, cloak pointed at your pumpkin.
You laughed loudly and hugged cloak, showing your tongue to Stephen. "I knew it! I'm better!"
Strange paled, clenching his teeth. "Oh!!! What's that!? Even you're against me?! I wasn't expecting that! Bad cloak!"
"No, no. You are a good cloak. Come on, let's go inside. It's cold out here." You sighed and shivered softly.
Stephen laughed loudly. "Don't worry, pal. I was joking." Man approached you and gave you a warm hug. "This time the student outdid the master" brunette clapped his hands. "And now. Maybe a hot chocolate?" man offered you his arm.
You sighed deeply and nuzzled to him. "Sounds like a great idea, Mentor. Let's go inside." You nodded your head and took his arm.
But when you were heading to the Sanctum, the cloak decided to take revenge for previous treatment. Material disappeared somewhere.
You could see with the corner of your eye, how cloak disappears in nearby bushes. You blinked a bit surprised.
"What's going on, Y/N?" Strange stopped in a step, glaring at you. "Wait. Have you seen.." When man turned around to look for his cloak, the material was floating few centimeters in front of him with its collar tightly wrapped around smaller pumpkin. "For Dormammu's sake!!" Stephen yelled, automatically taking step backward.
You only laughed and shook your head. "You asked for this, Mentor. Let's go inside... all three of us." You muttered, looking at cloak and its owner.
"Sure. It was a really nice experience for me" Strange giggled a bit. "We definitely have to repeat this next year."

It was late afternoon, you were sitting on a couch. You had a thick blanket wrapped around your shoulders and head.
You sighed deeply looking around.
You had a big problem, since few days you couldn't sleep.
Okay, that's not entirely true but every night you were sleeping only two hours and taking fact that you had to study and deal with Doctor Strange himself wasn't a good thing at the moment.
Your eyes were already underlined with big dark circles. You let out another deep sigh before snuggling to the blanket. Slowly, your eyes closed and you tried your best to relax and fall asleep. All you have wanted was sleep… just few hours that would give you some energy…
“Y/N… Y/N?!”
Your bloodshot eyes snapped open at the sound of familiar voice. It was Stephen.
He walked to your couch quickly, you could hear just by his voice that he was excited.
“There you are! I was looking for you.” He said and took the blanket off of your head.
“Look, I was just rummaging through our library and I found this book. I never seen it there before. Do you know what does it mean, sweetheart?!”
You gently rubbed your cheek and improved your position on couch.
“I don’t know Stephen… New spells for you to learn? New tricks?” You said with lifeless voice looking at the book in his hand.
You could feel how exhaustion is digging into your head and body. Your whole body was heavy and your mind was slower than a snail.
“Exactly! And the best part is that we can practice them together. These spells are really easy, so even you will be able to master them. Just look at this one.”
He opened book and sat next to you.
You looked at one of the page and tried to read whatever was written there but words and pictures were just a blurry mess for you.
You shook your head and looked at Stephen with forced smile.
“You are right, Stephen. I am sure we will do that soon. Great that you had found this book.”
He smiled back at you but then frowned softly.
“Something’s wrong, Y/N?” He asked with voice full of concern as he studied your face. It was the moment when he noticed your eyes and dark circles under them.
You shook your head.
"Nah, I am fine, Stephen. Don't worry. I have just lost something really important." You shrugged and nuzzled to your blanket pulling it back onto your head.
Small smile appeared on your lips as comforting warmth surrounded you again.
"Like what have you lost?" He asked taking a seat next to you. "You look, I beg your pardon, terrible, Y/N."
He snapped his fingers and his cloat floated off of his shoulders to wrap itself around you.
You let out a quiet sound as you thanked.
"My ability to sleep for more than two hours at a time." You closed your eyes and sighed.
After a minute you opened one eye and looked at him.
"Something's coming Stephen. I think that's why I can't sleep... you know that I am sensitive on this point." You admitted shivering.
He had given a slight nod.
"I feel it, too." Man admitted rubbing over his jaw. "It's like a shadow would be stepping into the Sanctum." He looked around and then back at you. "But you're safe here."
You shook your head, trying to hide deep inside the blanket.
"No one will be safe... Not here, nor anywhere. In my dreams I've seen people turning into an ash... Men, women, children... People, heroes... Everyone." You whispered.
He nodded slowly.
"Don't think of it now. Close your eyes."
Strange shifted closer to you putting his hand on your cheek.
"Just drift away, fade into the darkness."
You grabbed his hand and shook your head.
"I tried, Stephen.... I tried. I tried everything. I tried meditation, spells... Even warm milk. Nothing helped. These dreams... Visions return everytime I close my eyes."
He hummed something under his breath moving his fingers against your temples.
"Free your mind. And drift away, Y/N."
His deep voice was whispering as he was gently touching your head.
You looked at him and nodded slowly, then you followed his order.
You took a deep breath and closed your eyes trying to drift away.
There was the darkness all around him.
You both were still on the couch, his hand still on your cheek.
"Open your eyes, Y/N. Don't be afraid."
Doctor got up and immediately, his cloak shifted from your arms to accompany him.
You opened your eyes and looked around.
"So... We are.. like.. inside my dreams?" You asked and got up from couch pushing the blanket off of your shoulders.
"Yes. Exactly."
Strange offered his hand looking deeply into your eyes. "Come on. We will see what's bothering you."
You nodded and took his palm.
"You won't like it... You are there, too." You said and pulled him behind you.
Strange followed your steps, and soon the darkness faded into a bright light.
Stephen frowned a bit.
"New York?" He asked looking around.
"Yes... Exactly... We are in front of our sanctuary."
Then you pointed at the sky. "There... The ship." You said and looked at him.
Indeed, there was a huge ship on the sky. Round form was a cut above.
"What..." Strange mumbled.
Other people on the street were also looking above.
"I can feel a pain."
"This is the first part... Later it gets worst." You muttered as scenery changed.
Right now they were on some other planet.
"I hate this one..." You muttered looking around.
"Where are we?" Strange asked.
He took a careful look around the place covered in dust.
"No idea... This place always shows up just before I wake... And there are we..." You said quietly and pointed aside. "Cloak! Come here... I don't wanna look at that..."
Cloak wrapped itself harder around Stephen, who only breifly ran his fingers over the fabric.
"I can sense a huge power. Endless."
You gasped and frowned looking at cloak. "Thank you. Next time when he will scream at you, just don't come to me." You sighed deeply.
"Yes... Huge power. Power that can destroy whole world that we know."
"No! Stephen! Don't go! Don't leave me."
You slowly tured around as you heard your own voice. "Worst part.."
Stephen looked aside and there they were.
Y/N and him. Standing there, just like it was normal. Stephen-alike-ghost slowly sanked on knees reaching hand out.
"Don't leave me! You can't!" Stephen's ghost slowly changed into dust.
"No... No no... Not me..." Your ghost slowly followed Stephen's and turned into dust as well.
The vision was over. The darkness surrounded you both.
You looked at Stephen with tears on the cheeks.
"Please... Let's go back... I wanna go back Stephen... I'm begging you!"
He grabbed your palm and pulled you closer. Cloak got off if his shoulders to place itself around yours.
Within a second you were back in the room and Sanctum.
You sighed quietly and nuzzled to cloak. "These dreams will become true, Stephen... This time will come... We both will die... I don't wanna die." You whimpered and started cry hiding face into cloak's soft fabric.
Cloak shivered and patted your back gently.
"Not necessary." Stephen whispered sitting down in his favorite armchair. "I think we have to find people who will be able to help us. Each pair of hands will be useful."
You shook your head.
"Stephen... We both know that most of my visions became true. No matter what we had tried to do... I have enough... I am going to bed."
You got up from couch, pushing cloak off of your shoulder.
Cloak shifted away, it looked like it would be offended. Material got back on Stephen's shoulders.
"Try to sleep, Y/N. If these visions will come back to you, just try to go through of them till the end. Maybe you'll find a clue."

His Ego || Stephen Strange x Reader.
Summary: You are taking care of Strange shortly after his accident
Warnings: None.
Words: 1327
Request by: Anonymous
Authors: Cass & Toro
You loved your job. Helping others was your longtime passion, you couldn't imagine yourself anywhere else but in a hospital, unfortunately, last few weeks were a horror to you.
Stephen Strange has ended up in the hospital due to his car accident. After that he went through five doctors and several nurses, and all of them told the one thing: 'I am not going back to him.'
Stephen Strange wasn't the easiest person to deal with. He was an arrogant long before that accident but then it was even worst - a mix of his arrogance and anger.
Soon there was no more doctors that wanted to even enter Strange's room and someone in his condition couldn't just stay alone.
You gathered all of your courage and decided to go there by yourself.
You entered room slowly. "Stephen?"
He raised his brow with a deep sigh leaving his mouth. "What now? Another dose of pills that will miraculously heal me? Nor maybe you've come here to see the best neurosurgeon in the world who is not even able to hold a stupid mug in his hands, huh?!" Strange was raising his voice with each word he was speaking out loudly.
You sighed deeply and shook your head gently. "I came here to see the patient, no matter who he is. I am not here to judge you and you good know this."
You already had to fight the urge to hit him. You had to listen to his screams and now they were directed straight at you, it was really over the line.
Strange turned his head to the window, not saying a word. He started to pretend he was alone in the room.
You let out another sigh and your hands dropped to your sides. "Please, Stephen. Cooperate with us. You know we all want what's the best for you," you said moving closer to his bed. "Come on, show me your hands," you requested as you sat on the edge of his bed.
Former doctor struggled, trying his best to roll on his right side. "Fuck off," he only hissed. "I don't need your help. I don't need anyone to feel sorry about me. I'll be fine by my own. If they wouldn't have done that to me, it wouldn't be that bad right now. They fucked my entire life."
"Stephen... I don't do this because I feel sorry for you. I do because this is my job and I am kinda the only one standing by your side since you effectively scared others away."
You watched him for a moment, thinking what more you could add.
"I want to remind you that if not other doctors, you would have lost your hands for real. You good know that you still have a chance, you just need to give yourself time to heal."
"Time to heal, huh?!" Stephen turned his head to face you. "Do you hear your own words?! They've destroyed all the nerves that left! They could have done it other way, inserting a simple fucking stents in my hands! That would truly help! And now they're sending someone like you," he threw you a disdainful glance. "Pathetic."
You shook your head and got up. "You are the pathetic one right now, Strange. Look at yourself, you are the one on this bed. You are the one that was reckless enough to use your fucking phone while driving! Kids in kindergarten know that you should never do this!" You growled. "You should at last be grateful that we saved your ass, and that for now we waste our time to deal with such a stubborn asshole like you. I am leaving now but I will be back later," you simply informed him and then left.
Strange only shrugged his arms slightly and rested his head on the pillow.
He closed his eyes and let the thoughts drift away.
He was almost falling asleep but a sudden thought crawled into back of his head.
You were absolutely right. If he wouldn't be that stupid to check upon his phone while driving, he wouldn't be where he was then.
However, he still was too proud to admit that it was him who was mistaken.
You returned to your office and decided to do a bit of your work before dinner time.
You had to somehow relieve your stress and anger after visiting Stephen. Even if you knew it won't be easy, you set yourself a goal to change his behavior.
During the dinner time you decided to order something in the cafeteria and take it to Stephen.
When he heard someone entering his room, he theatrically rolled his eyes. "I don't want whatever you have there. I am not interested. At all. Leave me alone."
"Yes, yes. But you know what? I don't care, just like you," you said and smiled at him holding a tray. "It's dinner time so I decided to jump to the cafeteria and get you something warm because even you need to eat," you put the tray on his bedside table.
"And how do you imagine this, huh?" He snorted. "How can I eat with those?" man pointed at his bandaged palms. "I think I have to consider your intelligence level, darling," Strange growled.
You took a deep breath, you could feel anger slowly building up again but you only bit inside of your cheek, trying to control yourself. "I always can take bandages off and help you with eating. It's not really a problem," you shrugged, putting hands into pockets of your coat.
"To you it may not be a problem but to me it's a fucking shame but sure, of course, who would even care what fucking Strange feels," man summed up angrily. "Do what the hell you want, I have it deep in my asshole."
"Stephen. I meant unwrapping your hands. I never said that I don't care. Sure I do," you rubbed bridge of your nose. "I understand you are ashamed of your condition but you can't act like this. Please. If you want I can even feed you."
Stephen shrugged slightly. But this time he didn't protest. He let you unwrap his palms, he also let you take a spoon and feed him.
You smiled at him as soon as you finished.
You got up and went to wash your hands. "You see! It wasn't that hard, Stephen. Now please, be a good boy and show me your hands."
He did without complaining. "And? What are you gonna do with them? Are you gonna heal me? No one can, that's the truth," he clenched teeth.
"I am a doctor here and I need to check on them to see how wounds are healing, if you like it or not," you responded, taking a seat on the edge of bed.
You gently took one of his palms into yours and studied it carefully, later you repeated this with other hand.
"They are healing, it looks very nicely, I must say. Would you like me to bandage them back?" You asked looking at him, still holding his hand.
"Do whatever you have to," Strange sighed out loudly. "Besides, I thought you're an ordinary student nor nurse, how funny," his voice sounded more wryly than he attended, so he grinned, cocking his brow.
You lurk around to get new bandages for him and quickly came back to wrap his palms. "Well, because of your lovely attitude no one wants to come here, so I need to be everyone to you," you explained, carefully wrapping his hands. "I hope you will feel more comfortable for now but you know what, Stephen?"
He tilted his head slightly. "No. Tell me."
"I think you still have beautiful hands," you stated and smiled at him, then raised on your feet. "If you will need anything, just ring for the nurse. I will be in my office. And remember, it's gonna be better."

Confession || Doctor Strange x Reader
Summary: You are Strange's apprentice. You happen to be in love with him. One day you find a courage to inform him about your feelings.
Warnings: none
Words: 1364
Authors: Cass
A/N: Story written for @justmebeingtheweirdmeiam writing challenge. My Prompt was: “I wanted to say “I love you” for the first time without stuttering, but that failed.”
Another day seemed so boring from the very beginning, yet you had promised yourself that you will no cross it out before the end.
Being an apprentice of doctor Strange himself wasn't an easy task to perform.
The man was moody, and sometimes you were having enough of him. Yet no matter how hard he was on you, you were always coming back to him. It occasionally felt like babysitting a child that lacks of self-control though.
That day couldn't get any worse, you though to yourself after getting downstairs to the large room filled with books. You froze as soon as you passed the threshold. A huge pile of new books was awaiting on the long, wooden desk. Of course, he left me the worst job to do, as always, you though, closing eyes shut for a brief moment.
Then, you started to catalogue the books.
"I can see you finally decided to get up and start your duties, Y/N." Stephen said walking into the room.
Stephen took you from Kamar-Taj after everything that happened. You were a promising student, so promising that the Ancient One herself was training you but after she was gone you were left all alone. He didn't want you to stay there.
He was hard on you and it was completely on purpose, Stephen tried to do whatever you could to make you work hard on yourself and your skills.
You stopped yourself from snapping back in a response, instead you nodded your head slightly. "I'm sorry, Master Strange, I sat too long with a book yesterday's evening and I overslept," breif information was recited smoothly like you would have prepared it before. "As I can see, you've gotten new books for our library, Master."
"I told you to not call me Master, I am indeed your teacher but we aren't in Kamar-Taj anymore," Stephen looked at pile of books, nodding. "I got the for you, those should be fine for your level of knowledge. They are perfect unless you sleep while reading them." He joked, teasing you.
Stephen's cloak floated to you slowly and looked over your shoulder on all of the gathered books.
You petted the cloak gently like you would be petting a little bunny. "Where should I put them? Am I free to decide or do you have some idea?," You asked Strange not looking at him.
You felt his glance on your features, but you didn't dare to give him a look. "Do you want me to bring you the manuscripts I've found in the library recently?"
He nodded, looking at you. "Yeah, that would be nice. I need to take a look at them."
Stephen knew about your feelings torward him, he spend a lot of this with you and he wasn't blind but afterall he could be mistaken. That's why he never did any move when it comes to you, he Stephen waited at you.
"And you can even take them to your room. Like I said, I got the books just for you. I already have read them."
"Of course, Stephen," you told him.
_______
Moving books to your room took you almost an hour. Some of them were pretty heavily, and even with the help offered by cloak, the job was hard.
_____
At the evening, after you finished your meditation session, you've gathered the manuscripts and headed towards Stephen's chamber.
Stephen was busy when you came to his room, so only his cloak floated toward you and wrapped itself around you in a greeting movement.
Strange flipped the page and looked up from his book, rubbing his eyes. "Ah, the manuscripts. I forgot about them." He muttered, sitting straight in his seat. "Thank you, Y/N. Without your help I would get lost long time ago."
You nodded briefly and smiled at him. "Don't say that, you would manage well even without me."
"You think so? Because I am more than sure you are really wrong." He chuckled and closed the book to pay full attention to you.
You put the manuscripts on the top of his desk and took a step backwards. "You're a great Doctor Strange. You're the Stone Protector," you sounded like you would be lecturing him.
Stephen laughed. "I may be a stone protector but I am not a doctor anymore. Not a real one, that's for sure, this kinda ended up my career." He said looking at his hands. "Or maybe it was my stupidity. That's why I make sure to work hard on you."
"I think it wasn't a stupidity but rather a high self-esteem and uppity nature...," You told him trying your best to keep your face straight.
Stephen smiled at you but then he leaned his elbows on the desk. "You know, I noticed a shift in your behaviour."
"A shift on my behaviour?," You asked and tilted your head, crossing arms behind your back. "I am afraid I don't understand."
"And who told you that?" He simply asked, looking at you with a frown. "Why I wouldn't be keen on my own idea?" Stephen smiled mysteriously.
You frowned and cocked your brow. "It was your.... I thought... The Ancient One... Her idea was..."
"Her plan was to teach you, indeed. She couldn't predict that all of this will happen." Stephen shrugged. "I took you here because I didn't want you to stay at Kamar-Taj alone."
He cares for me, he really does, you thought to yourself, and placed hand to your chest. "I understand, sir..."
"I took you in, even if I am not a good teacher. I didn't want you to waste your potential and I didn't really want to be alone here though." Stephen explained.
You nodded. "I understand." You bowed head a little and walked back to the door to leave his chamber, yet you stopped with palm placed on the doorknob. "Stephen...," You turned your head towards him.
Stephen took one of the manuscripts and looked at it briefly before his attention returned to you. "What is it, Y/N?"
"There's something you need to know...," You whispered and turned towards him fully. “I wanted to say “I love you” for the first time without stuttering, but that failed... So I'll tell you now... I think I'm in love with you..."
"Come here, young apprentice." He told you simply.
You walked to him trying to hide the blush but failed on that.
Strange got up from his seat and grabbed your hand. "I was hoping you will say that because I can say that you're dear to me too, Y/N."
"No!," You pulled your hand out of his grasp. "Impossible. You're an important figure while I am no one."
Stephen looked at you surprised, he did not expect such a reaction. "Does it really matter who are we? If not the stone I would be no one."
"You're someone even before the Stone," you told him in a serious tone. "You were saving people's lives, and now you're the protector of the Stone. And I am here only because our destinies were somehow tangled together by a coincidence...," You looked down to your feet.
"So... You know those are our destinies, yet you refuse to accept them? Am I really that bad, Y/N?" Before Stephen could say or do anything the cloak wrapped itself tightly around you two as if it was happy.
The sudden movement of the cloak made you giggle nervously.
The material tightened around two of you, pushing you closer to one another, so in the end you had to wrap your arms around Stephen's waist.
"Cloak! You're incorrigible!," You chuckled softly, and gasped through parted lips as you smelled Stephen's cologne.
Stephen laughed and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist, pulling you closer. "Well, I think the cloak doesn't care what we think. It just wants us to be together, and be aware that the cloak isn't the only one that think like this."
You dared to tap his nose. "We'll see what future holds for us," you told him as you slipped out from his embrace. You stopped by the door. "Good night, Stephen. Don't be long, another day is about to come."
