Requested - @large-unit ~ Hi uh can you do 142 with Tony Stark please?? xx
Prompts - 142 - Anything you draw/write on your own skin appears on your soulmate’s.
You’d known from a young age that your soulmate was smart, whilst other kids had messy scribbles and doodles you could barely make out, you had mathematical equations that you couldn’t figure out if your life depended on it.
When you hit your teen years you’d decided that your soul mate was a literal genius, possibly one of the smartest minds out there. There were advantages to this, like they would help you with homework you didn’t quite understand and they would explain things in terms you understood without making you feel like an idiot. You weren’t stupid by an means but compared to your soulmate, well you didn’t know quite as much.
For as long as anyone could remember people had soulmates. Sometimes they had them at an early age but many people didn’t start getting the drawings or writing well into adulthood. You’re soulmate had been around for most of your life, when you were a kid you remembered seeing a drawing of a car on the inside of your arm and freaking out until soulmates were explained to you. There were a few things that the other couldn’t see though and that was names, age and location.
You were fresh out of college with a few degrees under your belt and trying to find a job. It was stressful, everywhere you went seemed to have ridiculously high standards and as someone with limited work experience, a few waitress gigs to help pay for your schooling, it was impossible to get a job. One day however you woke up to a text from a long time friend of yours who knew a lot of people in high places and had managed to secure you a job interview for Stark Industries. You were understandably nervous as you sat outside waiting to talk to the interviewer, this was Stark Industries they were never going to hire you!
“Miss Y/L/N, meeting room 4 please.” You followed her directions and knocked on the door before walking in and freezing in your place. Pepper Potts sat behind a desk with Tony Stark sitting opposite her, a bored look on his face and paper work laid out messily in front of him.
“Ah, Miss Y/L/N. Please take a seat.” You did as Pepper instructed, after shaking her hand, and nervously played with the hem of your jacket.
“So, you’re aware that this job would be time consuming? Researching and testing the latest Stark equipment, getting it ready for marketing and developing the technology.” You nodded as she listed the things you’d be required to do, thanking God your friend briefed you thoroughly.
“Good. Now I can see you have graduated from college with the right qualifications needed for the job, the only limitations I can see is your lack of work experience-”
“But everyone needs to start somewhere right? And what better place than Stark Industries were all training is given to you and we actually look after our employees.” Tony said, abruptly cutting Pepper off. You could tell by the expression on her face she was used to this behaviour.
You turned to look at Tony and couldn’t help the shy smile that made its way onto your face, for some reason this man was putting some faith into you.
“Exactly. Your grades are impressive, Miss Y/L/N. Obviously we’d have to do a trial run first to see if you can handle the high pressure intensity of the job but if you show that you’re capable then we can discuss a permanent placement here for you.” You just barely managed to suppress the grin that wanted so desperately to make its way onto your face, nodding professionally and thanking them both profusely for the opportunity they were giving you.

‘I just got a job working at one of the best tech places!’ You told your soulmate the second you got home. Sometimes it was hard to find space on your body because he had so many random notes and reminders written on himself.
Some included, ‘talk to the kid about upgrades’, ‘visit strange’, ‘pick the kid up’ and a few too many complicated sums that you only vaguely understood.
‘Of course you did, you’re a genius!’
‘Please, you walk into the room and just know you’re the smartest person there.’
‘Well yeah, that’s true. Well done on getting the job! I knew you could do it baby!xx’
You blushed, you’d never met the person and yet whenever they referred to you with a pet name or got a bit romantic it felt like you were a high school kid with a crush.
‘Thank you x.’

“I think I just met my soulmate.”
“I’m sorry could you repeat that?” Stephen asked, brow raised questioningly.
“I think I just met my soulmate.” Tony repeated again, his own brows knitted together and face looking alarmingly pale.
“Perhaps you should sit down, I’ll get some tea and you can tell me what happened.” Stephen gently grabbed Tony’s elbow and guided him into the sit before leaving the room, returning moments later with two cups of tea.
“You think you met your soulmate?” Stephen prompted after they’d been sat in silence for a few minutes. Stephen’s voice jolted Tony out of his head and he began nodding.
“Yeah! I was sat in one of the meeting rooms with Pepper because she was interviewing a girl for this new position that opened up at Stark Industries, right? So this girl come into the room and God she was so cute and she plays with the hem of her jacket when she’s nervous. Anyway she sits down and her sleeves are rolled up a bit and I can see some notes and scribbles that I thought looked familiar and then I realised they were the numbers for this new piece of tech I was working on and the only way she could have them on her is if…” Here he trailed off, eyes going distant again.
“Is if she was your soulmate?” Stephen asked, voice soft as he looked at his friend.
“Yeah.” Tony responded with a sigh.
“Isn’t this a good thing? I mean you’ve found your soulmate, most people don’t get that. They’re just stuck with writing on their own skin but you’ve found her.”
“It is a good thing but, but Stephen you know me! Every relationship I’ve had, I screwed it up! This is my soulmate and I don’t wanna screw that up.” Stephen frowned, he knew Tony was getting better at not blaming himself for everything but this was a big deal and he couldn’t blame Tony for reverting back to old ways.
“Tony, you didn’t screw anything up. You and Pepper weren’t meant to be and that’s ok because look at you now. You and Steve, well you already know what I think of that and it wasn’t your fault that didn’t work out. You weren’t his soulmate and he wasn’t yours. This though, this will work. I promise.” Tony looked up at Stephen, his eyes glazed over suspiciously but Stephen didn’t call attention to it.
“You’re right. Of course you’re right. Sorry for bothering you with this stuff it’s just..”
“I get it Tony,” Stephen said, cutting him off before he could fall further down the hole of blaming himself for things that were not this fault, “you know I’ll always be around for you to talk to.”

It was your first day at Stark Industries and to say you were nervous would be the biggest understatement of the century.
You’d woken up extra early and had so much extra time that you ended up pacing and thinking of the worst possible scenarios that could occur today. Thankfully your soulmate wrote to you half an hour or so before you had to leave.
‘Hey, knowing you you’re probably a pile of nerves right now so just know that you got this baby girl!’
The grin that appeared on your face was unstoppable, you stood looking at your arm for a good few minutes with a love sick grin before shaking yourself and looking around to find a pen.
‘Oh how well you know me. I hope you’re right, I really don’t wanna mess this up.’
‘You won’t. You’re gonna blow ‘em all away.’
You spent some more time talking to them before you needed to head out to your Uber.
The journey was over far too quickly for your liking and you found yourself stood outside the door of the labs, fidgeting with your hands before taking a deep breath and nodding to yourself.
“Hey, Y/N, right?” Someone said from behind you causing you to jump. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.”
Your eyes widened as you saw Tony stood behind you, watching you with a raised brow and amused eyes.
“It’s fine, my fault for zoning out. Just first day nerves and all. Yes, it’s Y/N. Nice to see you again Mr Stark.” You were aware you were talking faster than usual but like you said, first day nerves and all that.
“You too and please call me Tony.” He told you with a charming smile that made your heart skip a beat before he walked past you, opening the door to the lab and gesturing for you to follow him.
The lab was insane. You didn’t know what you had been expecting but it wasn’t this, everything seemed so futuristic and slightly daunting when you realised you’d have to operate these machines.
“State of the art lab. Pretty cool right and everything in here is made so it doesn’t harm the environment because listen no matter what Trump says global warming’s a serious issue. In fact I have some plans somewhere if you’re interested later.” Your eyes were taking in the lab but focused in on Tony once he began speaking.
“Yeah that would be amazing. Your lab is incredible!” You gushed slightly, Tony couldn’t help but stop and smile at your expression - the description of someone looking like a kid in a candy store had never applied to someone more than it did you at this moment in time.
“Thanks but this isn’t mine, mines on a completely different floor. This lab’s yours.” He laughed as your eyes widened in disbelief.
“I’m sorry, what?” This lab was yours?
“Well if you’re going to be working here then you need a lab and this one is beautiful, such a shame nobody is utilising all its potential.” Tony told you sadly causing you to roll your eyes and laugh, you felt comfortable around the man which confused you but you decided not to focus on that right now.
“Come on, this stuff’s pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. I’ll show you.” With that the two of you got to work.

“Sir, I hate to interrupt but Peter Parker is here to see you.” You jumped when a new voice cut through the consistent chatter between you and Tony.
“Sorry that’s just J.A.R.V.I.S. He’s my A.I, made him myself. What time is it J?” You couldn’t help but smile at the look Tony got in his eyes when talking about his A.I. You couldn’t blame him though, that was ridiculously cool and you had no doubt it was more advanced than any A.I you’d experienced.
“It is 7:47 PM, sir. I’ve sent Mr Parker up to your floor.” J.A.R.V.I.S. informed him.
“Right, thanks J.A.R.V.I.S. Um, do you want to stay for dinner? I mean we missed lunch so it’s the least it can do.” You smiled as you watched him fidget with his hands as he nervously looked up at you.
“Sure, I’d love to stay.” You realised that it was probably completely inappropriate to have dinner with your boss, on the first day no less, but you figured if there was somebody else there then no harm.
“Great!” He exclaimed before clearing his throat and repeating it again at a normal tone.

“Are you ever going to tell Y/N that she’s your soulmate? Seriously Mr Stark, she’s great! You have to tell her! I can tell her if you want!” Peter had been persistent for weeks that Tony tell you he knew but Tony was terrified.
“Pete, kid, I told you I’ll tell her when the times right.” Peter threw his head back against the head rest and let out a long, suffering groan before turning to look Tony in the eyes.
“Mr Stark does she make you happy?” He asked.
“Of course she does!”
“Well imagine how happy you can make each other when you both know you’re soulmates! Please Mr Stark, I just want you to be happy. If anyone deserves it, well, it’s you.” Tony’s features softened instantly at Peter’s words and a small smile appeared on his face.
“Alright I’ll tell you what, I’ll call her now-”
“You can’t tell her on the phone!” Peter interrupted with a shout causing Tony to laugh.
“I’ll call her now and invite her out for dinner tonight and if it goes well then I’ll tell her. I promise.” Tony swore, a grin on his face as he saw how excited Peter looked. He was still unbelievably nervous even though he knew deep down it’d be fine, you two had great chemistry both in person and whilst writing to one another.
“You can do it Mr Stark.”

“So, why the dinner?” You’d asked during dessert.
The meal had been enjoyable, as was most of the time you spent with Tony both during work hours and in your free time. You had been guilty for so long, feeling like you were betraying your soulmate when you started to develop feelings for Tony but you knew as long as you didn’t act on them then you were technically not doing anything wrong. Lots of people dated people who weren’t their soulmates, there was nothing wrong with it.
“Well actually there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now. I didn’t really know how to but Peter said I just had to rip the band aid off and everything would be ok, so if this goes wrong I’m totally blaming the kid.” He told you with a nervous laugh.
“Is everything ok, Tony?” You asked, concern prominent in your voice.
“Yeah, yeah, everything's fine, right here it goes. When we first met I saw the writing on your arms because your sleeves were rolled up a small bit. Anyway the equations that were on your arms were for a new Iron Man suit and the only person who knew the math and science behind it was the other person who’d originally wrote it on their arm and basically-”
“You’re my soulmate?” You asked, cutting him off without meaning to but he was rambling and it had clicked in your head.
“Um, yeah, yeah that, that’s what I was getting at.” Tony stuttered out, nervous as he couldn’t figure out how you were feeling about the news. Surely it wasn’t that bad right, he wasn’t that bad.
“Thank God, I was feeling so bad about liking you but you’re my soulmate!” You exclaimed, a wide smile taking over your face. Tony couldn’t help but grin back as he saw how happy you looked, he didn’t quite believe you could be that happy to find out he was your soulmate but he wasn’t complaining.
“You really like me?”
“Of course I do. You know for a genius you really are an idiot.” You laughed.
“I never claimed to be otherwise. So I guess, god I feel way too old to be asking someone this, but will you be my girlfriend, baby?” He asked with a smirk causing you to roll your eyes, the smile never leaving your face.
“Of course I will, soulmate.” With that he leaned across the table and finally, finally, kissed you.
It was like fireworks.

“Come here.” Tony said as he pulled Peter closer to him and started to retie the poorly tied tie.
“Mr Stark!” He complained, fidgeting as he did but Tony just shushed him and got to work.
“I can’t believe you’re getting married.” Peter exclaimed once he was done.
“Trust me kid, I can’t believe it either.” Tony had finally popped the question to you, three years into dating. In all honesty you weren’t sure he ever would but that would have been ok because you loved him and you knew he loved you. You’d cried so many happy tears when he asked you to marry him in the same cute little restaurant he asked you out at.
Pepper and you had become really close once you started dating Tony and she was now one of you bridesmaids and had played a large part in helping you plan the wedding. Tony had taken more interest in the planning than you expected him too and now the day was here.
Tony had managed to make sure the press would be kept out, the wedding was going to be a small one, close friends and family only. You’re family were already sat outside waiting for the ceremony to start as were your friends, Tony invited people he trusted, people he could call friends. Natasha was there as was Bruce, Thor, May, Nick, Maria Hill and a few more. Happy, Stephen, Rhodey and Peter were his best men.

“You look beautiful.” Your friend told you as you looked at yourself in the mirror, fingers running along the dress gently.
“Thank you,” you said, feeling choked up already, “I feel amazing.” You told them.
“Let’s get you married then.”
‘Ready for this, baby girl?’
“Seriously, does he have to write on himself now?” Pepper laughed causing you to look at you arm. You rolled your eyes but asked for a pen.
‘Ready as I’ll ever be! God, I can’t wait to be Y/F/N Stark. See you out there gorgeous.’

“So Mrs Stark?” Tony asked playfully as he held your hand, thumb running soothingly over the skin.
“What?” You snapped.
“Glad I’m your soulmate?”
“I hate you so much, fuck!” You yelled as you were told to push again.
“God, Stark I am so divorcing you after this.”
“Love you too baby girl. Come on, he’s nearly here.” Tony told you, he continued to whispered words of comfort and encouragement to you as you delivered the baby. You went into labour three weeks before your due date and Happy had barely got you to the hospital in time.
“He’s here. A healthy baby boy.” You watched as they took him away to clean him up before putting him in Tony’s arms, you couldn’t help but smile as you watched Tony’s eyes fill with tears of joy.
“You ready to go again?” The nurse asked you, causing you to lose the smile and now groan.
“Tony, baby, do it for me?” You pleaded tiredly, tears stinging your own eyes.
“I would if I could, baby girl, I would.” He told you before going back to comforting you, whilst bouncing your son.
“And here’s baby number two.” The nurse told you. They cleaned the second baby up before placing her carefully in your arms.
“They are perfect.” You told Tony as you looked at the babies before you. You were exhausted but you didn’t want them to leave your sight.
“You’re perfect baby. I’m so proud of you.” Tony told you before placing a soft kiss upon your lips.
“So, any ideas for names?” The nurse asked.
“Morgan for the girl and Y/S/N for the boy.” You said, looking at Tony for confirmation, he nodded happily.

‘Please don’t forget to pick the kids up from school, Stark.’
‘Mrs Stark, how could you ever think I’d forget the kids?’ ‘Again.’
‘Tony I swear to God.’
‘Don’t worry baby girl, I got ‘em, Peter too. Enjoy your girls weekend! I love you.’
‘Love you too baby.’
hi! i dunno if your requests are still open but if they are i was wondering if you could write headcanons for dr strange and/or tony with a male so whos sorta like a eldritch god/horror? if not i understand but thanks anyways(:
Marvel x eldritch horror male reader

How did you know non-human reader fics were one of my favorites?
I sprinkled in some Steven Grant cuz I am obsessed with him, even though I haven’t watched the show yet, hope that’s okay lmao. I don’t know much about DID so I tried not to mention it much, and used what I know, so hopefully its alright.
I loosely based the readers main appearance of an oc of mine who is something like an eldritch horror themselves ^^
I may have gotten carried away, but enjoy anyways.
Tony Stark
- You meet when Tony is trapped in space with Nebula. You were just floating through space like always, taking in the sights and whatnot when you saw the ship and felt living organisms inside. One of them feels near death though, so you worry.
- You haven’t interacted with many humans in your eternal life, so you panic and slither your everchanging form into the ship towards the dying being. Feeling around you with your smoke like mass, and using your abilities you can tell he is dying from lack of oxygen, so you make some.
- He’s still falling unconscious, but not dying this time. So, you grace his mind just enough to get an impression, and take the form he would find most pleasing to look at. You end up taking him into your now only two arms, and holding him as he rests.
- Things pass like in the movie, except you easily reverse what Thanos did and take the stones away from the ugly grape and fling him into the void.
- Now that the threat is gone you grow close to Tony, and take great interest in human culture. You could learn it all immediately if you pleased, but having Tony show you and explain it made what would be your heart warm up.
- In the beginning Tony, and all his companions, thought you were some type of alien that took human form, like the Skrull. So, it was kinda awkward to explain that you weren’t just that, you were what they called an eldritch horror.
- Tony needed some time to come to terms with it, especially the fact that you were far beyond science. But after a while he seemed to just accept it, giving up that he couldn’t ever figure you out. Though he does try to at times still.
- The two of you start dating, and it takes some time to get used too, mainly for Tony. You grow more comfortable letting your human go and just being more yourself. Though you keep your form mainly human.
- You help out the Avengers at times, but mainly leave it to the heroes to go save the world. Though you will swoop in if they’re in life threatening danger.
- You pick up cooking, though it isn’t very successful in the beginning, but tony seems to be very supportive, though he isn’t that happiest to be the taste tester as some of the dishes he swears are cursed.
- You get better over time though.
- The relationship is announced to the public, and you have to keep your human form when out and about for obvious reasons. The world is led to believe you have shadow based powers and have lived alone for most of your life, which makes up for you not understanding many parts of society just yet.
Stephen Strange
- You meet when Stephen is doing magic work, maybe he has to cross over to the shadow between realities or universes to collect something or fight someone. He catches your attention by entering your domain, which normally no one can enter.
- You keep your attention of the cloaked man, as he moves through your darkness with ease that surprises even you. His cloak flinches back when you reach a shadow up to pull on it, which confirms that it is alive.
- The magic-user walks around your domain for a long time looking for what he’s after, but can’t seem to find head nor tail in the eternal darkness. You feel what’s almost akin to pity, like what you feel when you see a kitten stumble and fall. So, collecting a tiny part of your mass, you take a human-like shape.
- The shape is like if you took shadows and dark mass and shoved it into a human shaped mold. You hadn’t really met humans before and you didn’t want to dig through his mind, so you took the next best option.
- Stephen gets ready to fight when you appear, but when it becomes obvious, you’re friendly he tells you why he’s there and what he’s after. You offer to help him which he hesitates with at first, but ends up accepting. With little work of your powers, you’ve moved the two of you to what he needed
- The two of you fall into talks, you mainly asking questions which he only seems to answer out of politeness as this is your realm, but as time passes, he becomes more friendly. He’s on edge around you in the beginning, but it lessens up.
- When he leaves you vow to visit him regularly, which you then do. You pull apart the curtains of reality and step into whatever room he’s in, and as time passes you start to take a more human form as you learn about them. Though you keep certain features about yourself, like having more than two arms and smoke-like clouds rising from you at times, though Stephen doesn’t seem to mind at all.
- The sorcerer grows to really apricate your company, and he treats you much warmer as time passes.
- You dating is never really said in words, at some point you just start staying with him for longer, you start holding each other and kissing. Its only when Wong tells you to take your sucking faces somewhere else it clicks for the both of you.
- Your relationship continues as normal, doing sorcery things, reading books, traveling places. Though now there’s more physical affection.
- Stephen is very interested in the special brand of magic you use, though you explain it isn’t magic and just more you are bending reality to your will. He’s still very interested though.
- He takes time off from being sorcerer supreme to spend time together, the two of you especially like traveling to other planets or alike to explore or go on holiday.
Steven Grant (Marc and Jake too i guess)
- Unsurprisingly you meet Steven because of moon knight business. You first spotted him when he entered the afterlight as it is partly your domain, but before you could interact with him, he left again. You’re intrigued by the man, so you keep one of your many million eyes on him.
- You let small parts of yourself start to slither into the human realm by poking holes in the fabric that is reality. Normally you would just have shoved a chunk of yourself out there, but the god that follows Steven around would notice immediately. Not that you couldn’t win with ease if the god wanted to fight, but you didn’t feel like it.
- You had planned to grace over his mind for a shape when he slept, but he so rarely did. It made the small part of yourself you had put under his bed jolt as he got right back up, after he had gone to sleep. Flexing your abilities, you figured out there were not one, not two, but three people in the body, one of them being Steven.
- Now you have always been an eternal everchanging being, so it didn’t weird you out or anything, you simply noted down for later to pay attention to who was fronting and that was it.
- Weeks pass like this, and you’re comfortable just watching and observing. That is until Steven apparently gains control of the body in the middle of a battle. He’s lost and doesn’t even realize he’s in a fight until he almost gets punched.
- Steven appears not to be much of a fighter, but you stay still until one of the people he was fighting pulls out a gun, which you now know is a weapon. You collect all the small shadows you’ve had cross over and mash them together to take form. You take a human form, the only thing showing you’re less than human nature are your eyes, which turn pitch black.
- You make quick work of the goons, going as far as to crush the gun in your hand and flinging the people across the street and into a dumpster.
- The god that follows Steven around immediately gets confrontational and curses at you and wants you gone, but you ignore him to crouch down to Steven and ask if he’s alright, lifting a smoke covered hand, where the smoke slithers around and seems to heal whatever bruises and cuts he has.
- It takes some explaining and calming Steven down to explain who and what you are, and why you are there. He blushes when you explain how you found him so interesting and sweet you couldn’t help but want to stick around.
- Khonsu seems to stop his cursing and threats when he figures out you are far beyond even his level of power, though the two of you don’t seem to realize. You don’t even notice when he seems to leave, giving you major side-eye.
- One thing leads to the next and you’re spending a lot of time together, though its just you and Steven since you leave when you notice the other two fronting. You don’t want to make them uncomfortable or anything, and you and Steven thought that since Marc and Jake kept a lot of secrets in the past from him, its okay until you two know each other more.
- When you start officially dating you end up introducing yourself to Marc and Jake, who both seem quite uneasy with you, but when they hear how you and Steven talk about each other they begrudgingly agree.
- They won’t admit it, but they start to like you too, and get red in the face when you compliment them or hug them.
- You and Steven talk about his interests for hours, and you can tell him many things that Khonsu doesn’t know or hasn’t told him, you even go as far as to tell him about how you have your own realm and alike. You visit it at some point, though there isn’t much to see as its just darkness and void.
- Steven helps you learn the ways of the human world, though he struggles with it himself too, so you lean on each other for support. Though most days it can become quite a lot and you’ll just go home and cuddle in bed until Steven falls asleep and either Marc or Jake takes over, the man blushing when they realize they’re in your arms.

You loved your job. Helping others was your longtime passion, you couldn't imagine yourself anywhere else but in a hospital, unfortunately, last few weeks were a horror to you.
Stephen Strange has ended up in the hospital due to his car accident. After that he went through five doctors and several nurses, and all of them told the one thing: 'I am not going back to him.'
Stephen Strange wasn't the easiest person to deal with. He was an arrogant long before that accident but then it was even worst - a mix of his arrogance and anger.
Soon there was no more doctors that wanted to even enter Strange's room and someone in his condition couldn't just stay alone.
You gathered all of your courage and decided to go there by yourself.
You entered room slowly. "Stephen?"
He raised his brow with a deep sigh leaving his mouth. "What now? Another dose of pills that will miraculously heal me? Nor maybe you've come here to see the best neurosurgeon in the world who is not even able to hold a stupid mug in his hands, huh?!" Strange was raising his voice with each word he was speaking out loudly.
You sighed deeply and shook your head gently. "I came here to see the patient, no matter who he is. I am not here to judge you and you good know this."
You already had to fight the urge to hit him. You had to listen to his screams and now they were directed straight at you, it was really over the line.
Strange turned his head to the window, not saying a word. He started to pretend he was alone in the room.
You let out another sigh and your hands dropped to your sides. "Please, Stephen. Cooperate with us. You know we all want what's the best for you," you said moving closer to his bed. "Come on, show me your hands," you requested as you sat on the edge of his bed.
Former doctor struggled, trying his best to roll on his right side. "Fuck off," he only hissed. "I don't need your help. I don't need anyone to feel sorry about me. I'll be fine by my own. If they wouldn't have done that to me, it wouldn't be that bad right now. They fucked my entire life."
"Stephen... I don't do this because I feel sorry for you. I do because this is my job and I am kinda the only one standing by your side since you effectively scared others away."
You watched him for a moment, thinking what more you could add.
"I want to remind you that if not other doctors, you would have lost your hands for real. You good know that you still have a chance, you just need to give yourself time to heal."
"Time to heal, huh?!" Stephen turned his head to face you. "Do you hear your own words?! They've destroyed all the nerves that left! They could have done it other way, inserting a simple fucking stents in my hands! That would truly help! And now they're sending someone like you," he threw you a disdainful glance. "Pathetic."
You shook your head and got up. "You are the pathetic one right now, Strange. Look at yourself, you are the one on this bed. You are the one that was reckless enough to use your fucking phone while driving! Kids in kindergarten know that you should never do this!" You growled. "You should at last be grateful that we saved your ass, and that for now we waste our time to deal with such a stubborn asshole like you. I am leaving now but I will be back later," you simply informed him and then left.
Strange only shrugged his arms slightly and rested his head on the pillow.
He closed his eyes and let the thoughts drift away.
He was almost falling asleep but a sudden thought crawled into back of his head.
You were absolutely right. If he wouldn't be that stupid to check upon his phone while driving, he wouldn't be where he was then.
However, he still was too proud to admit that it was him who was mistaken.
You returned to your office and decided to do a bit of your work before dinner time.
You had to somehow relieve your stress and anger after visiting Stephen. Even if you knew it won't be easy, you set yourself a goal to change his behavior.
During the dinner time you decided to order something in the cafeteria and take it to Stephen.
When he heard someone entering his room, he theatrically rolled his eyes. "I don't want whatever you have there. I am not interested. At all. Leave me alone."
"Yes, yes. But you know what? I don't care, just like you," you said and smiled at him holding a tray. "It's dinner time so I decided to jump to the cafeteria and get you something warm because even you need to eat," you put the tray on his bedside table.
"And how do you imagine this, huh?" He snorted. "How can I eat with those?" man pointed at his bandaged palms. "I think I have to consider your intelligence level, darling," Strange growled.
You took a deep breath, you could feel anger slowly building up again but you only bit inside of your cheek, trying to control yourself. "I always can take bandages off and help you with eating. It's not really a problem," you shrugged, putting hands into pockets of your coat.
"To you it may not be a problem but to me it's a fucking shame but sure, of course, who would even care what fucking Strange feels," man summed up angrily. "Do what the hell you want, I have it deep in my asshole."
"Stephen. I meant unwrapping your hands. I never said that I don't care. Sure I do," you rubbed bridge of your nose. "I understand you are ashamed of your condition but you can't act like this. Please. If you want I can even feed you."
Stephen shrugged slightly. But this time he didn't protest. He let you unwrap his palms, he also let you take a spoon and feed him.
You smiled at him as soon as you finished.
You got up and went to wash your hands. "You see! It wasn't that hard, Stephen. Now please, be a good boy and show me your hands."
He did without complaining. "And? What are you gonna do with them? Are you gonna heal me? No one can, that's the truth," he clenched teeth.
"I am a doctor here and I need to check on them to see how wounds are healing, if you like it or not," you responded, taking a seat on the edge of bed.
You gently took one of his palms into yours and studied it carefully, later you repeated this with other hand.
"They are healing, it looks very nicely, I must say. Would you like me to bandage them back?" You asked looking at him, still holding his hand.
"Do whatever you have to," Strange sighed out loudly. "Besides, I thought you're an ordinary student nor nurse, how funny," his voice sounded more wryly than he attended, so he grinned, cocking his brow.
You lurk around to get new bandages for him and quickly came back to wrap his palms. "Well, because of your lovely attitude no one wants to come here, so I need to be everyone to you," you explained, carefully wrapping his hands. "I hope you will feel more comfortable for now but you know what, Stephen?"
He tilted his head slightly. "No. Tell me."
"I think you still have beautiful hands," you stated and smiled at him, then raised on your feet. "If you will need anything, just ring for the nurse. I will be in my office. And remember, it's gonna be better."

Warnings: none
Words: 1364
Authors: Cass
A/N: Story written for @justmebeingtheweirdmeiam writing challenge. My Prompt was: “I wanted to say “I love you” for the first time without stuttering, but that failed.”

Another day seemed so boring from the very beginning, yet you had promised yourself that you will no cross it out before the end.
Being an apprentice of doctor Strange himself wasn't an easy task to perform.
The man was moody, and sometimes you were having enough of him. Yet no matter how hard he was on you, you were always coming back to him. It occasionally felt like babysitting a child that lacks of self-control though.
That day couldn't get any worse, you though to yourself after getting downstairs to the large room filled with books. You froze as soon as you passed the threshold. A huge pile of new books was awaiting on the long, wooden desk. Of course, he left me the worst job to do, as always, you though, closing eyes shut for a brief moment.
Then, you started to catalogue the books.
"I can see you finally decided to get up and start your duties, Y/N." Stephen said walking into the room.
Stephen took you from Kamar-Taj after everything that happened. You were a promising student, so promising that the Ancient One herself was training you but after she was gone you were left all alone. He didn't want you to stay there.
He was hard on you and it was completely on purpose, Stephen tried to do whatever you could to make you work hard on yourself and your skills.
You stopped yourself from snapping back in a response, instead you nodded your head slightly. "I'm sorry, Master Strange, I sat too long with a book yesterday's evening and I overslept," breif information was recited smoothly like you would have prepared it before. "As I can see, you've gotten new books for our library, Master."
"I told you to not call me Master, I am indeed your teacher but we aren't in Kamar-Taj anymore," Stephen looked at pile of books, nodding. "I got the for you, those should be fine for your level of knowledge. They are perfect unless you sleep while reading them." He joked, teasing you.
Stephen's cloak floated to you slowly and looked over your shoulder on all of the gathered books.
You petted the cloak gently like you would be petting a little bunny. "Where should I put them? Am I free to decide or do you have some idea?," You asked Strange not looking at him.
You felt his glance on your features, but you didn't dare to give him a look. "Do you want me to bring you the manuscripts I've found in the library recently?"
He nodded, looking at you. "Yeah, that would be nice. I need to take a look at them."
Stephen knew about your feelings torward him, he spend a lot of this with you and he wasn't blind but afterall he could be mistaken. That's why he never did any move when it comes to you, he Stephen waited at you.
"And you can even take them to your room. Like I said, I got the books just for you. I already have read them."
"Of course, Stephen," you told him.
_______
Moving books to your room took you almost an hour. Some of them were pretty heavily, and even with the help offered by cloak, the job was hard.
_____
At the evening, after you finished your meditation session, you've gathered the manuscripts and headed towards Stephen's chamber.
Stephen was busy when you came to his room, so only his cloak floated toward you and wrapped itself around you in a greeting movement.
Strange flipped the page and looked up from his book, rubbing his eyes. "Ah, the manuscripts. I forgot about them." He muttered, sitting straight in his seat. "Thank you, Y/N. Without your help I would get lost long time ago."
You nodded briefly and smiled at him. "Don't say that, you would manage well even without me."
"You think so? Because I am more than sure you are really wrong." He chuckled and closed the book to pay full attention to you.
You put the manuscripts on the top of his desk and took a step backwards. "You're a great Doctor Strange. You're the Stone Protector," you sounded like you would be lecturing him.
Stephen laughed. "I may be a stone protector but I am not a doctor anymore. Not a real one, that's for sure, this kinda ended up my career." He said looking at his hands. "Or maybe it was my stupidity. That's why I make sure to work hard on you."
"I think it wasn't a stupidity but rather a high self-esteem and uppity nature...," You told him trying your best to keep your face straight.
Stephen smiled at you but then he leaned his elbows on the desk. "You know, I noticed a shift in your behaviour."
"A shift on my behaviour?," You asked and tilted your head, crossing arms behind your back. "I am afraid I don't understand."
"And who told you that?" He simply asked, looking at you with a frown. "Why I wouldn't be keen on my own idea?" Stephen smiled mysteriously.
You frowned and cocked your brow. "It was your.... I thought... The Ancient One... Her idea was..."
"Her plan was to teach you, indeed. She couldn't predict that all of this will happen." Stephen shrugged. "I took you here because I didn't want you to stay at Kamar-Taj alone."
He cares for me, he really does, you thought to yourself, and placed hand to your chest. "I understand, sir..."
"I took you in, even if I am not a good teacher. I didn't want you to waste your potential and I didn't really want to be alone here though." Stephen explained.
You nodded. "I understand." You bowed head a little and walked back to the door to leave his chamber, yet you stopped with palm placed on the doorknob. "Stephen...," You turned your head towards him.
Stephen took one of the manuscripts and looked at it briefly before his attention returned to you. "What is it, Y/N?"
"There's something you need to know...," You whispered and turned towards him fully. “I wanted to say “I love you” for the first time without stuttering, but that failed... So I'll tell you now... I think I'm in love with you..."
"Come here, young apprentice." He told you simply.
You walked to him trying to hide the blush but failed on that.
Strange got up from his seat and grabbed your hand. "I was hoping you will say that because I can say that you're dear to me too, Y/N."
"No!," You pulled your hand out of his grasp. "Impossible. You're an important figure while I am no one."
Stephen looked at you surprised, he did not expect such a reaction. "Does it really matter who are we? If not the stone I would be no one."
"You're someone even before the Stone," you told him in a serious tone. "You were saving people's lives, and now you're the protector of the Stone. And I am here only because our destinies were somehow tangled together by a coincidence...," You looked down to your feet.
"So... You know those are our destinies, yet you refuse to accept them? Am I really that bad, Y/N?" Before Stephen could say or do anything the cloak wrapped itself tightly around you two as if it was happy.
The sudden movement of the cloak made you giggle nervously.
The material tightened around two of you, pushing you closer to one another, so in the end you had to wrap your arms around Stephen's waist.
"Cloak! You're incorrigible!," You chuckled softly, and gasped through parted lips as you smelled Stephen's cologne.
Stephen laughed and wrapped his arms tightly around your waist, pulling you closer. "Well, I think the cloak doesn't care what we think. It just wants us to be together, and be aware that the cloak isn't the only one that think like this."
You dared to tap his nose. "We'll see what future holds for us," you told him as you slipped out from his embrace. You stopped by the door. "Good night, Stephen. Don't be long, another day is about to come."
