more on the DW: Starfall AU, specifically on Mr. Riffraff

having looked far too deep into the well way earlier than DoodleCo ever did, Riffraff had already expected DoodleCo to take advantage of the newfound magic energy source that Somniere and Verdrok could be used for, and sought to halt any progress they could make. however, Teneson was a step ahead of him and found out about his intentions before Riffraff could execute his plans, leading to a brawl between the two. Riffraff lost, but escaped to the main area where Somniere and Verdrok were being held.

Somniere, being able to sense Riffraff's good intents, sent him away from Teneson and "blessed" him with its kind of magic to strengthen him in the coming days. the "blessing" altered parts of his body to heal his wounds and is what grants him the ability to continue his work, but it also allowed Somniere into his mind. this led to it haunting Riffraff's dreams, and trying to influence him towards its own goals rather than Riffraff's original plans. he's got a solid will so he's been able to hold his ground but lord is that funny little doodle quite the pest when he's trying to get some rest

i cannot wait to introduce the amount of BRAINROT i have for riffraff and his freak girlfriend in this AU once i have enough material

Yoo Portia finally has drip, after so long she finally has drip (C!Portia is just a mess) She be goin around with them wheelies, like she is so coded I love her so much so so much you won't believe me if I told you how much Also replacing her cone with a satelite is so creative and still fits her goofy asthetic

The idea that Teneson in the Starfall Au still gets no bitches is so funny. Like I could be wrong and Teneson is in fact with Rebecca in this au since she's still alive and she isn't with Lucas since he's with Rose. And not much has been stated anything much about Rebecca outside the fact that she's alive. But the thought that this guy gets rejected by Rebecca anyway even though she's not implied to be with Lucas, is so funny. Like even when Rebecca's alive for once in a timeline, she'd rather stay single.

We stan girls gay For a minute I thought she lost her arm in this art- I was like "damn she lost her sense of smell and taste along with an arm? hardcore" Now I'm really wondering if Zavier's around since I'm sure it'd be some fucking 2000's outfit with stars and a cool cape and like edgy haircut Since Zavier is Quincy's edgy phase

DOODLE WORLD: STARFALL WORLDBUILDING POST!!!!!

i haven't been able to focus on making DW Starfall art due to uni, so here's some worldbuilding about the AU and info about its main cast under the cut in the meantime

to recap: Doodle World: Starfall is a fantasy-futuristic AU where humanity discovers magic in the cosmos, after their technological advent into space. so far, all of humanity can only use basic magics, and each individual is limited to only one type. however, across the planets are 'Artifacts' (which replace the Keys) which are said to be able to break the mold and ascend someone into mastery of magics. the protagonist is replaced with an OC - Rose Aurelius, a sorcerer and archivist who came from another world to learn about this one, but gets herself wrapped up in the mystery of the Artifacts.

DoodleCo owns several planets which are in close proximity with each other - each planet houses a different district of cities, and transportation to each planet is done by public spaceships.

Earth remains as the main planet, where the main DoodleCo headquarters has been built. however, the story begins on the smallest planet of the 5 that are owned by DoodleCo - Eria.

the Adventurer Unit becomes the Explorers Unit, who are tasked with discovering new planets across the galaxy.

DoodleCo is still ran by the same canon characters

as for the main cast, most of them maintain their canon personalities, with some tweaks.

TJ is a tamer who joins the Explorers Unit in hopes of making a great discovery. he wants to find the Artifacts, since he's well practiced in magic, and wants to expand his skills in it. however, he isn't the best at Doodle battling, though he aims to improve. he's got a knack for finding his way through places, even if he hasn't been there before

Quincy, son of DoodleCo's CEO, Charles, is one of the few humans who lack the ability to conjure magic, and it haunts him. he makes up for it with his excellent Doodle battling strategies, and one thick wall of ego (tinged with shame) to seal his only insecurity away.

Portia is the daughter of the (still-living) Rebecca, second founder of DoodleCo. she's confident and ready to jump into any action anytime, but occasionally fears she will not live up to her mother's feats. she is obsessed with aliens

Suzie is a bit of a loner who drowns herself in biology studies to distract herself from the fact that she cannot taste (and by extent, smell) anything. she fears it has cost her a lot of what would've been cheerful childhood memories. hence, she works herself to the bone for a cure

Mr. Riffraff was the third founder of DoodleCo, and the one that was constantly pushing towards technological advancements through ethical means. when he found out that DoodleCo was using Somniere and Verdrok's power to fuel their magitech (magic + technology), he left in anger, and vowed to free the both of them.

Teneson is the right hand of Charles, and seeks order. he despises Riffraff for abandoning DoodleCo for the reason he did. Teneson believes that sacrifices must be made for the greater good, and aims to stop Riffraff from freeing the two.

bonus:

Junjie, the subway guy, is hired by DoodleCo and becomes the head of all public spaceships. he's an open and outgoing guy that occasionally goes behind DoodleCo's back for the sake of the people. people over power is his belief and he is loyal to that

finally, the main protagonist... Rose Aurelius. a cosmic sorcerer, and the Avatar of the Constellation, Lynx, who archives the flora and fauna of different worlds. she takes on a humanoid guise during her time on DoodleCo's planets, and originally only aimed to be an observer to the events of the Artifact Hunt. however, she met Riffraff, who constantly got in her way of archiving, and was intrigued by his goal of freeing Somniere and Verdrok, and decided to help him a little... only to end up becoming more than involved in the whole ordeal.

she's an old cranky and sassy woman who minds her own business most of the time. she does display care, albeit in a tougher way. she becomes the guardian of the main cast after constant encounters with this group of rambunctious kids, and the amount of times she's protected them from fantastical dangers and lectured them has led her to feel responsible for them. Rose cares a lot for them, but her tough exterior makes it difficult for them to see that

Rose and Riffraff are also a couple because i LOVE enemies to lovers and i love old people romance but that's a post for another time

Omg Zavier Doodle World is actually a threat But even with god powers in each version of him, he doesn't seem to be able to use it properly I mean he gets bodied by another demigod, an actual demigod in canon And considering that Rose is the demigod in this au, since she replaces Player (They clocked sick for this au) I'm just going to say he's on the normal side of Zavier shenanigans, nothing crazy like other versions of Zavier

I've got one big lingering question on my mind. Will Zavier be a thing in Doodle World: Starfall? I doubt he'd be much of a threat; he's treated more like a child throwing a temper tantrum to Riffraff in canon. But I'd like to know more about the edgy guy.

Zavier will exist in DW: SF - while Riffraff made a deal with Somniere, Zavier makes a deal with Verdrok, granting him somewhat potent influence over reality, with limitations that could endanger his life if he goes too far

Riffraff's goal is to bring down DoodleCo entirely so the world may start anew without needing to rely on them for everything, while Zavier's plan is to usurp Charles as he believes he could a better leader than he is

Zavier's fond of magitech and wishes to pushes it to its limits, and in his hands is one of the Artifacts, so he's quite the strong sorcerer

Zav and Teneson are kind of similar, both want power and order, but Teneson just wants a peaceful world, even if it means doing bad things as he believes everything has a price, while Zavier wants to empower humanity, with him leading them towards the "better future" he envisions

his personality is changed by a Lot - instead of the standoffish and brash fellow we know, he'll be a bit slicker and arrogant, with an unsettling cool to his nature that suggests he's got dangerous plans

i would say Zav will be quite the threat in this one, which is bad news for our favorite rat boy and our protagonists

If C! Zavier ever met Starfall! Zavier, they'd be very surprised how different they are. Like they don't even look or feel like the same person anymore 💀💀💀 Like he's clean, with a clean suit, clean cut, clean everything. Compared to C! Zavier who probably looks burnt and is burnt from electricity from Chronos. He's crusty and probably hasn't showered. With a dusty coat. (This is by no means an attack, he's interesting and I like the concept) Starfall! Zavier probably would hit C! Zavier with the "Eugh, brother eugh" Anyway, I'm sure 'The Host' will be glad to send an invitation his way to the Main Hub. Drop by or maybe stay a while. (:

DW: Starfall AU - Zavier sketch......... this is definitely not the same guy who tries to destroy you over a key

Zav is far more cunning and relaxed in Starfall, as Verdrok's gifted ability of reality bending lets him be able to do things that help him win fights in a matter of seconds. despite this, he never gets over his head, and plans meticulously

like Riffraff with Somniere, some parts of his body have been mutated by Verdrok, and as you can see his right hand has been changed - those eyes belong to Verdrok, and they watch the world through him

he runs a hidden organization, intent on overtaking DoodleCo, and has eyes everywhere in the company and across the cities, mostly DoodleCo employees swayed by the promise of cosmic power

Zavier speaks quite elegantly and smoothly, and has a way with words; it's no wonder many DoodleCo employees agreed to work with him even after knowing the consequences

the reason he got the most changes out of all the characters so far is because i wanted to see what Zav would be like if he was the opposite of how he is in canon, and i wanted a villain seeking order in control. i also removed his bandages to further reflect his intentions - to charm and to deceive with a kind smile, even as those vile eyes show clear contempt for the current state of the world

in the story, he acts as a constant roadblock and a building threat as he learns more and more about Rose, who only has so much time to stop Zavier before he reaches his full potential

He is very interesting and cool I wonder if he ever saw your Zavier, the one you draw It probably won't end well

Oh, so Starfall! Riffraff is still Portia's dad. ... ouch. It seems as if she can't escape the daddy issues no matter which universe she's in. Ah yes, doomed lovers. Always love that. It's destined for Riffraff in every timeline.
