So like I don’t know if I actually like have any followers let alone if anybody actually like looks at my posts but I’m going to write an Eddie Munson X reader and I’m going to post it. This is heavily self indulgent as is everything else I am going to write and post on this account. All the other fix that I’ve seen for him are either making reader a cheerleader, making reader a normal person that denies any part of their weirdness, not privy to any of the canon going-ons, or Steve’s exe, and honestly I think A. Steve has been though enough with his girlfriends leaving him for someone else, and B. Eddie has been through enough with cheerleaders, so like Thanos said I’ll do it myself. Also this might get pretty niche and kinda specific. Like I said this is self indulgent.
I feel a little dumb right now. So I have the concept of a high fantasy AU for Stranger Things in my head and essentially it’s the way the show already is but like in an actual fantasy setting I just think it would be really funny, but that’s not the point. I’ve been sitting here trying to figure out which class Eddie would be and at first my brain went to paladin and then wizard. I’ve been sitting here for like 20 minutes and it just hit me, Eddie is a fucking BARD.
The way I’m doing it in my head is I’m basing it off of what the characters do in the actual show and due to the fact that Eddie is the DM for the club he has to spin stories for the campaigns and then there’s the fact that he plays guitar and is in a band. He’s a bard and I don’t know why I thought anything else first. And I fully realize this idea of a Stranger Things high fantasy AU isn’t anything too ground breaking considering it would just be them living out their campaign irl no I’m not talking about LARPing. I just think the idea is interesting.
Imagine you’re dating Eddie before all of you know what happens and one day offhandedly he ask you “hey how come you never straighten your hair” just out of pure curiosity and you’re like “I’ll tell you what, I’ll straighten my hair when you with graduate or die” as a joke, but then the upside down and everything else happens and you wear your hair straightened to his funeral and you’re crying the entire time, but he’s not dead. He’s a vampire now, but he’s not dead and he’s watching all this go down from a distance and he’s just like oh shit she actually did it I didn’t want it under these circumstances but she did it on top of you know the regular feelings for their holding a funeral for me and my girlfriend is crying for me and did the thing that she said she would do for my funeral so yeah you can imagine he’s torn up as hell.
Just a stupid little thought that I just had while drawing that’s all.
Imagine like a slow burn enemies to lovers type of romance with Eddie and it’s getting to the point where the tension has built and built and built and built to the point where it should snap and boil over into you and him having very aggressive hate sex right, but instead he just says some real heinous shit that goes just a little too far and you just stop and walk away from him entirely and you’re like walking out and as you’re walking out Steven, Robin, and Nancy all come in and they’re like hey what’s wrong and you just push past them and just fucking leave. Like you know that one scene in season two of Euphoria where Cassie is just getting straight up disrespected? I imagine that whatever he says to you does that kind of damage to you like I did to her I’ll add in the TikTok that gave me the idea too just for clarification
Y’know how people write stranger things AUs where Reader is from the real world and gets sucked into Stranger Things?? How about that trope but in reverse where the kids and Eddie and Steve and Robin all get sucked into our world with Y/N. Maybe reader is like a shifter and shifted to Stranger Things and then one day when they’re going back to the reality everybody gets sucked back in with them. Maybe they straight up can travel through dimensions like with actual magic and one day when they’re picking a new dimension to go to the gang all latch onto them and get sucked in for the ride back to our dimension. Maybe El somehow opened a portal to our world through Reader’s laptop while they were watching Stranger Things. I don’t know I just think it would be a good idea somebody should write this, somebody should probably be me.
