Suddenly a conversation comes into earshot.

Elzer: Adelinde you and I both know you shouldn't do that.

Adelinde: They need to reconcile somehow! It's not very loyal of you to just let them drift further apart! (She means no harm and don't you dare imply otherwise)

Elzer: I'd kill an Archon for the master! You served them both, I know that, but your duty is to this Winery and it's owner, NOT the Cavalry Captain.

Adelinde: You really think so?

Elzer: Addie, the captain can't come here. The master can't take another heartbreak, from any source, and it's our job to make sure he WON'T. No matter what we must do.

Adelinde, with a tone of finality: To the end of the earth.

Elzer, matching her tone: To the end of time.

Adelinde: To the end of the Archons.

Both, together: Be that end by chance or by our hand.

And yes I 110% accept the headcanon that Adelinde raised the boys more than Crepus did, because as much as Crepus cared about Kaeya and Diluc, he ran his buisness.

Also this is Zhongluc and/or Venluc depending on what you want to see it as, if that wasn't obvious.
