i have nothing to add to the above arguments, because i also agree erik isn't an incel for these reasons. he hates all people and not women. I'd argue he's actually more likely to be a misandrist than a mysogynist (and/or incel) because it was men he was traumatized by. not only men, but a lot. also, he probably wants to be like other men, but he can't be - which was shoved in his face by them - causing him to hate them. but that's just my personal headcanon.
I wanted to say that it's really, really sad that ever since he was born, he was conditioned to feel safest in the presence of the dead, and not the living. like… damn. we know what moments of hatred can do to a child and their development. one bad comment can make a child doubt whether they're loved or not. imagine a lifetime of it. imagine having the constant confirmation that nobody loves you. imagine every group in the world telling you, "you're not our kind. you don't belong with us." where do you go? at least skeletons don't judge. neither do rats.
no wonder he hates everyone. he's mirroring what he's been given.
