Fictional Plants - Tumblr Posts

A few I missed. I was gonna edit but I figured I'd just post a new post instead XD
Go here for more.

Day 15 - Striatil and a Spotil I wonder If I should separate these and get two posts instead of one... .3. Nah I feel kinda guilty for just drawing a Spotil again. XD; Admitedly it's a different kind of Spotil though... It's probably a Small Spotil. Different species, slightly different taste, same deal. XD It's like how we have different kinds of apples. Yeah. As for Striatils, those are a whole different animal--or plant, so to speak. XD A relative to the Spotil of course, but actually tastes a bit like a mix between a pumpkin (hard, thick skin) and a melon. I think. I'm actually not sure what the second half is. It's sort of a bland, but sweet taste... like a white jellybean in sweetness but watery and melonish in consistency. ...Sorry I fail at descriptions. XD; but yeah. Striatils are less common, and hence can't really be counted as a staple food anywhere. They prefer the drier, more alkaline soil of the northern tip of Wing Alayna (continent on which the territory of Buddy World resides; ignore the erroneous naming there XD;), and can be found in various places along its coasts. So basically because they're less common, they're not eaten quite as often, and are considered to be more of a rare treat than a substantial food item. So yeah, that's about it. I'll leave you now to... stare at imaginary fruits. XD; yeah.

Day 16 - Panalia Fruit Okay so... This is turning about a bit like Hota and her bunnies. XD; I just keep... drawing Buddy World plants. I have tens and tens of them, so I guess they're a nice go-to... and heck, it's easier than drawing figures. XD; Kinda sorta, sometimes. Really I just need new ideas. And I don't have any. So until I do AND I'm also caught up with Inktober... yyyah. Plants. XD Alright so. I'm actually not sure the Panalia is a cannon plant. I kinda made it up out of neccesi... .3. Actually made I do have a place for it. The main problem I had with it is I had no idea where it would've come from, but now I do. XD I think the deal with it is the Panalia is native to Sky Buddy World (baskets of bread in heaven anyone? XD It made sense to me anyway), but it's cultivated on Wing Alayna too. So while it doesn't grow there naturally, it's possible that it was brought there. I can see it being especially popular in the Queen's palace, so maybe it's cultivated around that area. I'm sure the Queen would love nothing more than the comforts of home as it were. XD Anyway though, I suppose I should attempt to explain how it works. By the diagram I think it's obvious enough. Basically the leaves are insulated on the inside, so it stores heat from the sun inside there and bakes the Breadfruit like that over time. When the fruit is ripe, the leaves unfurl, and you have some freshly baked bread~ XD ...fruit. yeah. XD It probably doesn't make any sense in real life, but Buddy World has wacky physics anyway so any impossibilities we can always chalk up to being part of the Imagination properties of that universe. XP

Day 17 - Loopspeed Flowervine Now I know I keep posting Buddy World plants but I promise I'll... well, yeah. XD Anyway... I'm so sorry I wasn't gonna draw another one tonight but I was flipping through some old plant drawings and I really liked this plant, so I was like you know what maybe I'll just doodle some leaves a bit I still need to think about how this design works... Then that moved to a full drawing of the plant, and now here we are with yet another plant from Buddy World. XD Now I think there was an explanation for this somewhere in the annals of antiquity (that is, from my giant old sketchbook with plant drawings from like 2010 from them), but since it's all the way upstairs I'm not going to be getting it. XP I'll just wing the description and if I'm wrong, well... You'll never know anyway. XD Right, so. I belieeeve this plant prefers the highlands or mountainous area--either the Great Buddy Mountains or the high plain just beyond it. So yeah. These flowers prefer a higher altitude, lot of sunshine and not quite as much rain. I believe the petals and leaves are popular being used to make a rich, spicy, energizing tea. I remember that was my idea behind this plant--it looked like it could start ripping up the ground at any moment and start speeding out of there! XD So yeah. 'Fast' was my image for this one. And that basically translates into a spicy, stimulating tea that can be made with its leaves and petals. So I guess that's about it for this one. There was probably more, but I'm not going to be finding it anytime soon... XD
