Hoo Boys x reader Anxiety Headcanons

Percy Jackson would be able to tell immediately that you were anxious. He'd take your face in his hands and look you in the eyes. He'd let you talk about the issue if you were comfortable with it. Percy would tell you that he would always be there for you. He would tell you about how he would spend the rest of his life with you.

"I'm always gonna be here, okay? There's no need to worry. I'll protect you, always."

And he would mean it.

Jason Grace would know something was bothering you, but he wouldn't be sure exactly what it was. Were you nervous? Scared? Uncomfortable? He would take you by your shoulders and make you look him in the eyes as he asked what was wrong. Everything would click in his mind when you told him it was anxiety. Jason would rub your upper arms with his large, warm hands and tell you that everything would work out in the end.

"You have to go through these tough times to get to the best parts of life. And if it's ever too much, you can always come to me." Maybe it felt a little condescending, but he was right.

Leo Valdez knows anxiety too well. He's too good at hiding his own, so you wouldn't expect it when he drops to his knees in front of you, kissing your hands. He'd put on a show trying to get your mind off of whatever had you so anxious. Leo would make you play a game, or show you his latest creation. If that didn't work, he'd sit you down and listen to your problems. "Oh yeah, that sounds bad, princess. C'mon, let me make everything disappear for a while." He wasn't the best listener, but he tried more than anyone else.

Frank Zhang wouldn't realize that you were anxious, but he already knew of whatever was causing your anxiety. As soon as it clicks, he takes you into his arms, drowning you in his chest. He's incredibly sympathetic, understanding exactly what made you anxious and why. "I love you so much. I'm gonna take of you for as long as you'll let me. I'm yours. I love you."

Squeezing you tight and kissing the top of your head, you would know it was the gods' honest truth.

Percy Jackson would go batshit insane. Someone is dying. The man would literally kill a god for his friends. He'd sit you down and demand to know who hurt you. Whoever hurt you would be dead. Percy would absolutely make sure you were okay first. If you insisted that no one hurt you, he would threaten to kill a rock or a door or whatever you claimed caused the bruising. No one touches a friend of Percy Jackson. No one especially touches his lover.

Jason Grace would panic. How on Earth could something else be powerful enough to give you that much bruising? He'd stay calm, obviously. But internally, he'd be a wreck. He'd pull you aside and ask you if you were okay. He'd reassure you that no one was mad at you and you weren't going to get in trouble for anything you did. You're safe with him. He'd never be mad at you. He'll find whoever hurt you and try to talk to them peacefully first.He'd try to do things the right, Roman way. Going through the law. But the second they say something rude to him or about you, it's over, no more diplomatic Jason. Whoever touched you would have hell to pay. If you insisted that no one hurt you, and that you had some sort of accident, he'd laugh it off with you. Jason would still be worried, though. He'd make sure you were okay, insisting you go to the infirmary just in case.

Leo Valdez would try to play it off, hoping it was just an accident. How could anything intentionally hurt such a sweet, caring person? Once it hits him that you're genuinely hurt, he's dropping everything to take care of you. There's nothing more important to him than you. You won't be walking anywhere or lifting anything until you are 100% better. He'll definitely have a chat with anyone who hurts you or tries to ask you to do anything more laborious than breathing. And threatening arson. He wouldn't ever actually light anyone on fire, but they don't know that. He'd liter your face with kisses and a gentle one on each individual bruise.

Frank Zhang would drop to his knees when he sees you, taking your hands in his and pressing them to his lips. He'd insist you tell him what happened, his eyes pleading for you to tell him that you're okay. He'd believe whatever you told him instantly, no second thoughts. He'd definitely try to report whoever hurt you, trying to avoid direct conflict. But if he saw someone hurting you, they're getting mauled. He'd defend you until the end. But he'd much rather avoid conflict.

You Leave Camp After Summer Ends

Percy Jackson would be very upset. He would definitely want to go with you. He would try to say that it was too dangerous for you to be on your own, despite knowing that you could absolutely handle yourself. He would insist that he needed to be there with you. He didn't want you to be caught off guard. He had to protect you. But really he just knew that he would fall apart without you for so long. He might even offer to transfer to your school just to mess something up there so bad that no one could go to school there, and you could come back to camp. He'd cry when you left. Percy would send you an Iris Message every chance he got. He wouldn't even look at another person. You're the only one for him.

Jason Grace wouldn't be happy, but he would understand that this was something you had to do. He was raised under incredibly strict rules. He's already used to being away from you for periods of time because he has to travel between camp half blood and camp Jupiter so often. But this is going to be a much more permanent thing. He stays strong in front of you, but once your gone, he feels hopeless. He doesn't want to be apart from you ever, especially not for ten months. He would fly down to visit you, even if taking you out to lunch during the school day is all either of you have time for. He'd make sure to check in on you every single day. He'd ask you about your day in excruciating detail. He's devoted to you. He would wait an eternity to be with you.

Leo Valdez would absolutely be upset. He found someone who would never leave him, and suddenly they're going to be gone for ten months. He'd beg you to take him with you. Even if you said no, he would take Festus and fly to wherever you are, desperate not to lose you. And he would be so sure not to inconvenience you. He has slept in the sewers and he would do it for the rest of his life if it meant he could be with the one he loves. He'd build you a car or a plane so you could come back to camp whenever you wanted. Leo could make a tracking device so if you ever needed him, he could be there in an instant. Anything to keep you as his.

Frank Zhang would be more focused on making sure you were okay. He would ask you if you needed him to help you move back to your hometown, no matter how far away it was. He'd buy you anything you needed. He'd always reassure you that if you needed help with any school work, he'd be there in a heartbeat. He'd talk to you about your day every chance he got. He would want to know about all of your friends and all of the people you disliked. Frank would definitely get lonely without you, but he would push through. He'd visit you any time you asked, but he would always be worried he was encroaching on a different part of your life that wasn't in his. He'd still be very glad that you wanted him there. As long as you were okay and happy, everything would be fine.

Percy Jackson would make a mess. Flour and blue food coloring everywhere. He would intentionally get it all over you. Especially the icing, so he could lick it off your cheek. His mom taught him how to bake. He doesn’t exactly follow the recipe. Percy won’t measure anything out, just pours the ingredients into the bowl and hoping he gets it right. The cake definitely comes out good, but the amount of blue food coloring will kill your kidneys.

Jason Grace unironically wears a “kiss the cook” apron. He follows the recipe exactly. He’d want everything to be perfect. No mess means no extra work. You wouldn’t even have to do anything. Just sit back and watch him work. His hands stirring the batter. He’d decorate the cake so extravagantly you’d be surprised that he doesn’t bake often. Very edible.

Leo Valdez would make the biggest mess possible and set off the fire alarm. Flour and sugar on the floor. Smoke billowing out of the oven. The blaring fire alarm above your heads. Absolute chaos. He’d be laughing and throwing flour at you. He’s not even looking at a recipe. He’s just putting ingredients in at random. The cake would be soggy with frosting. It’s burnt, but oddly good.

Frank Zhang tries his best. He’s not very good at baking, but he’s doing anything to spend time with you. He’d try to follow the recipe, but make little mistakes here and there. He’d clean up so often that it wouldn’t even look like there was ever a mess. The cake would be good, and very pretty. He’d be so much more grateful to be with you than to have cake.

Percy Jackson would talk you through it. He’d direct you on where and how to move, demonstrating the best ways to stay alive. He’d slowly start using more force, building up to make sure you could handle it. He’d do anything to avoid hurting you. But he knows he also has to make sure you can keep yourself from getting hurt. He hates having to fight you, but he does it anyways, knowing that if he doesn’t, you might not learn and get injured or die. He can’t always be by your side to protect you. Percy would be gentle with you. You don’t get hurt with him, yet you don’t get hurt with anyone or anything else. As long as you’re safe, he’s happy.

Jason Grace would encourage you to hurt him. Fight back. Attack. He can take it. He’s been through much worse than he imagined you can do to him. He’s one of the best fighters. Period. He’d push you to your breaking point, trying to make you a better fighter, trying to give you a better chance of survival. He’ll exhaust you, hurt you, make you cry, all in hopes that you won’t die in battle. It’s for your own good. Jason would always tend to your wounds and hold you afterwards. He’d make sure you knew he loved you and he just wants you to be safe and happy with him.

Leo Valdez wouldn’t train with you directly. Rather, he’d build mechanical replications of different monsters and set them up to train with you. He’d sit on the sidelines, cheering you on. And of course he’d be flirting with you, commenting on how beautiful you are now matter how exhausted, injured, and sweaty you are. He figures he’s got his fire powers, so he doesn’t need to train. Though he’s always to watch you, and help out.

Frank Zhang would rather supervise you sparring with another person. He doesn’t want to fight with you. You’re a team, you aren’t meant to be on opposing ends of a battle. Why would you ever need to be able to beat him in a duel? He’d watch you to make sure you and the other person were safe. Frank would give you tips to help you improve. Safety first, always. It’s a calm, collected environment. He’d encourage you so much. And he’d buy you food afterwards.
