hey guys i really appreciate that we’re starting to recognize that neopronouns and nontraditional genders (like stargender and voidgender) are A Thing and Good, but i always see that in the context of “if a fourteen year old wants to use xe/xir pronouns then that’s not BAD” and. i’m not being nice anymore, fuck you. don’t equate our genders with youth and ignorance. the message you’re sending is that we only identify this way because we don’t know any better, and the intent doesn’t matter when the message received is as horrible as that. get better.

Context: I recently came out as aromantic I realise some people are NOT cool that.
